Be aware of fraud tip charges to your bank account. An employee told me that a particular waiter does this and it happened to me and I reported it to the restaurant. They use a portable payment device there and they bring it to your table for you to sign on the screen while they stand there and watch you making you feel uncomfortable. I was still eating and told the waitress I didn't want to sign off touching the dirty device because I am still eating and she said oh but you have to because I already processed your card and wanted me to now include her tip I told her I will sign for the amount of the bill and pay the tip in cash which I do quite a bit. She ended up putting in her tip without my knowledge which is a felony (stealing customers money) So just be aware and look at your credit card statement as soon as possible read more

A decent, quality, sushi place in Folsom in the same shopping center as 99 Ranch Market. They have a good variety of options. First time here for dinner - everything we got (Spicy garlic edamame, salmon skin handroll, Lion King roll, Prisoner roll and Angry Spider were great. Each had it's unique mix of flavors and none disappointed the taste buds. Service was good - we placed our order over the phone and picked it up at the scheduled time without having to wait. If you're looking for AYCE sushi, Hisui is the place for you. You get to select from nigiri, sushi rolls, and hand rolls. There's even appetizers and it's not included in the 5 items you get to pick each round. For my first time here I stuck to the nigiri for the most part. I was pleasantly surprised for the quality you get for $25.95. It's not the best in the world, but you get your bang for your buck. They have a lot of options that you can select from. Rarely have I updated a review on YELP however it's been over 4 years since I last Yelped about Hisui and this place is note worthy to be mentioned again. Hubby and I came for the all you can eat buffet on a Saturday a week before Thanksgiving. Macy was our server and she was incredible! Very attentive, friendly and made sure our dining experience was perfect. We always get friendly service here however Macy was above and beyond. Checked in on us often and was always ready to take our next order just before we finished so that we didn't have to wait too long for the next round of order. 4 years ago the cost for the AYCE was just under $19. Currently cost is about $30 however the fish portion is generous and not skimpy. The fish lays well over both sides of the rice and the side dishes that can be ordered is very appealing as well so there are many options to choose from to satisfy one's craving. I do miss the unagi eel however there are plenty of other options to choose from. The seaweed salad, pot stickers, miso soup and cucumber salad are my normal choices. Finish off the new with the deep fried banana-yummers! Even though a Saturday can get busy we usually arrive just after opening so we can always get a booth to sit at. Parking is ample and easy to find always. Bathrooms are kept clean and tables are also kept clean. After 5 years of dining here we are truly Thankful for this gem of a place! read more

The food: Mike#88: 5/5, such a good roll for the price! My two favorite things are DFS and cream cheese, and this roll has both! The spicy tuna pairs so well with the cream cheese, and the salmon was seared so well! One of the best rolls here. Big Bang: 5/5, my favorite roll here! A similar roll to Mike #88 but without the cream cheese. The avocado was fresh and tastes perfect with the crunch from the tempura flakes. The shrimp batter was just the right thickness and crunchiness. Best roll here! KP: 3.5/5, pretty good roll overall, except not a huge fan of the seared albacore. Without the seared albacore, this could easily be one of my favorite rolls. Overall, the crab and DFS work together well inside the roll. Service: 5/5, the sushi was fresh yet came out so quickly! I don't recall our server's name but she was friendly and helpful. Overall, extremely impressed with the sushi chefs and the servers! We used to really like this place for AYCE sushi, but the price has gone way up and the quality has gone way down recently! The nigiri now has a large piece of rice and just a tiny sliver of fish on top, it's not at all the way it should be served. They are totally skimping on the fish nowadays so it's just not worth the price anymore. We will not be returning. read more

I'm updating my review because I recently had their all you can eat (ayce). Ayce is only available from 11 - 2 on the days they're open which is Tuesday through Saturday. It's around $22 but it's worth it. Since a lot of people will do ayce around this time it may be busy and you'll need to wait. Our wait time was around 15 minutes to get inside which was fine since I went to 99 Ranch for 15 minutes to do some shopping. The rules are that you need to finish all your food and you can only share with others who are also doing ayce. I think if you don't finish your sushi you may have to pay for it. You can order 5 items at a time off their ayce menu and they'll bring a plate with everything on it. You can always ask for more when your waiter/waitress is around. Their ayce menu is pretty big and everything is really fresh. This was great because I got to try all their different sushi rolls. The Golden Gate roll may be a new favorite since it's a deep fried crab roll. They don't have sashimi on their ayce instead it's nigiri but there's a lot of rice that comes with it. Customer service is great, everyone is friendly and for the ayce they are never too far away if you want to order more. Shout out to our waitress Heather for being awesome! Now if you don't want the ayce that is okay. Their entrees are pretty massive and very tasty. I ordered their sesame chicken plate on a different occasion and they gave a lot of meat, rice and a healthy salad. It also comes with miso soup. My dad always gets their bento box and sometimes he can't finish it because it's too much food. Their ramen is also very good. They really balance it out and put just as much meat as noodles in it. As soon as I walked in I was pleasantly surprised by the service from the staff. Immediately when my friend and I walked in we were showered with compliments, it was really nice to be treated so well by the staff. Our waitress (I didn't get her name) was so sweet and very attentive to us! She even helped make accommodations for my friends Spider Roll, which she requested to not be deep fried and they did exactly as she asked! For our starter, we ordered the crispy rice Japanese tapa, and I was very excited to try this as it's been viral in the foodie universe. Let me just say, the crispy rice is LIFE CHANGING. Literally one of my most favorite things I have ever eaten. Highly recommend trying it! Second, I ordered the Spicy Dream roll, which I also requested to add jalapeños and our waitress made it happen. It was delicious, definitely not a light roll though, it was very heavy from being fried and they packed a lot of fish in it (which made it worth the $17 or $18 it cost). Lastly, we ordered the Fire Cracker (which I did not get a photo of), I've had the jalapeño popper with tuna concoction at a few sushi places at this point and I will be honest I was slightly disappointed with the one they served us. The jalapeños were very crunch and weren't completely gutted out which just made it a lot more work chewing wise and overall wasn't very pleasant. The other downside was that the cream cheese to tuna ratio was way off and I felt there needed to be more cream cheese as it was mainly tuna and jalapeño. If there is anything I would change about Hisui's menu, it would just be that item as everything I tried was very delicious aside from the Fire Cracker! Great AYCE sushi place! Their AYCE menu is limited but it's still a great way to try many different kinds of rolls. I don't remember all the items we ordered but I do know that I really enjoyed the red hawk roll and the airbase roll. The service wasn't very consistent, sometimes they would be really on top of coming to get our next order and sometimes they would be really slow to come around. For $22 I got my money's worth. Had salmon and eel nigiri, totally loved the spicy jalapeños bombs, and the salmon skin hand rolls. I ordered a lot of the pink lady which was shrimp tempura with cream cheese and crab. Tried the fried bananas and it was a nice dessert! Didn't care for the yakitori, chicken was dry and under seasoned but skewers were a nice size. What I love best was that the portions are small and you can order only five items at a time. We visited this sushi location for the first time today during lunch. The location is popular with locals and has a very good reputation. Once inside the restaurant, you'll notice that it is clean, open, well lit, and modern in design. The host is pleasant, friendly and immediately greeted us. For starters we had garlic spicy edamame, and gyoza. Both were tasty and flavorful. The edamame is cooked in butter so the flavor is slightly different than you expect but the fried garlic makes the edamame very good. Our main dishes were Tempura roll with jalapeño, Alamo roll, Godzilla roll, Citrus Breeze, Big Bang roll, and Geisha girl roll. All dishes were presented well, ingredients were fantastic, and the taste was amazing. Very good sushi. The Godzilla roll is deep fried but did not taste oily. The seafood used was very fresh and portion sizes were large. The only negative was that we were served a plate that had a chip on it. This is dangerous. I am a bit concern on why this place has 4.2 stars. We went here on Wed night and the food was just okay and not as fresh as other places that I have tried in Roseville. There were two flies in the restaurant and one sat on one of our sushi and we have to keep waving them away (that was concerning how clean the kitchen is) The lady who helped was nice at the beginning but she rushed it for paying our bill. She literally brought the device to pay and sat there for my mom to pay. My mom usually needs the time to review the bill and think about how much to tip based on the service and she was rushing us so much that by default we tip 20% so she just rushed it and just signed it. Then when I thought about it the lady (I think she was the owner) did not deserve the 20% tip. Anyway I just found the service here a bit annoying. Plus she even forgot to bring of our orders ‍ In general I would not recommend this place based on the service/food quality and the food price. Talk about fall of a shining star. For years I rated this place . It was what I would consider one of the best sushi restaurants in the Sacramento region. I rated them against Sky (EDH) and Kru (Sac), even above the popular Mikuni chain. After Covid, there has been a steady decline in service and quality. My family and I stayed loyal, all the way until last night. When we first started going, I just figured the restaurant was new and needed time to build. Since then, the decor has not progressed beyond what you would expect from a strip mall diner. The service used to be absolutely stellar. The staff was attentive and accommodating. The newer employees treat you more like you're a nuisance and would rather adjust your bill versus just correcting the order. Normally, I enjoy dining in, but I also have a large family so we do a lot of takeout. On my last two experiences, one dine in and one takeout, the person taking my order missed an item. (The first time it was my personal meal and by the time I realized my meal wasn't coming, my family was mostly done with their meals. The second time was just a side order of rice for takeout). Most of the time I can let sloppy decor and poor service slide, as long as the food stays of superior quality. This is why I'm finally giving Hisui a rating. The fish was so poor quality, I may have been safer with gas station sushi last night. After spending over $100 for a dinner, I just couldn't just not eat the sushi. I definitely suffered the consequences for my actions though... repeatedly. I would not rank myself as a sushi, connoisseur, but I am definitely a great admirer of the dish. If I wanted this quality of sushi, I could go to a South Sacramento all you can eat buffet for half the price. If I want to spend this much for dinner, I'd just as soon go up to Sky or Mikuni's instead. At least there I know the quality is going to match the $. Ordered the Mike #88 and the Angry Spider (w a substitution). My son ordered a basic Ca Roll - add cream cheese and spicy mayo. And a chicken teriyaki bowl. Everything was delicious! The quality of sushi is horrific :( The rice is under-flavored and texture is off as they clearly pre-make some of it, which makes rice hard and seaweed chewy. Lately, quality has been going downhill and we've been ordering less and less sushi due to questionable fish freshness. I used to order the Chirashi frequently but don't dare to anymore. Today is the last time we will order from Hisui. We ordered the Airbase and not only did the fish on top smell, it also tasted fishy. (Tuna and yellowtail both.
