Give and take on this place. The decor is plain. It's a small restaurant with a small amount of tables, but for each of my visits, I did not worry about getting a table. They were not busy either time. Both visits I ordered the spicy mackerel and a hot tea. It came with the ban chan which was good. Also at both visits, I had a discussion with the gentleman about the spiciness of the dish. I love spicy foods, and I love to eat (real) Korean food. Yet, alas, both times, when the guy came by to see how my meal was, I told him that it wasn't spicy. Which it was not. At ALL. He told me, both times, that he ordered it for me that way. WTF!!! Why do you think I came to a Korean restaurant, told you I like "Korean" spicy, and ordered a dish that flat out says "SPICY"? So that's the down side. The up side is that even without the spice, it was tasty. After the first time, I wasn't sure it I was going to come back. After the second time, and the same thing happening, it's just not worth it. I feel sorry for giving this place a 2 star as their first review on Yelp and let me tell you why. The kalbi seemed like it was already pre-cooked from the night before and it appeared and tasted like they just heated it up in the microwave, very dry and tough, not sizzling fresh or tender. The spicy pork appeared to be the same. The squid tofu soup was watery and flavorless. And no shoju? The Korean table next to us got shoju. Worse worse worse absolutely worse customer service anyone can possibly have !!! Should of just down right walk out of there before down arrived ! The older women who was our server was basically slamming our dish and food on our table and we can hear here screaming and yelling probably talking about us to the cook ! This is an awesome place.Incredible amounts of food, lots of variety wonderfully spicy. The seafood noodle soup was absolutely delicious, and could have served four. We got a coupon and came here early one Saturday afternoon. We got bulgogi, soft tofu soup (soondubu), and fried rice. She only had shrimp for the fried rice and hard tofu (not soft tofu) for the soup. Everything was yummy and I didn't notice the difference in the tofu. Not really sure how to rate our first Korean experience. The food was fast and plentiful, the spice was adequate, and the service was friendly. This is a tiny place with nice decor. I could have done without the sports on the big TV, though it made my husband happy. I liked the spicey squid with vegetable but was disappointed that it was octopus, which is always tough, instead of squid. We were served a warm drink that tasted like roasted soybeans and the waitress said it was tea. My husband liked his spicy seafood soup, which was huge and full of octopus, with some shrimp and a few mussels and squid rings. All the condiments were interesting and it was fun experimenting, but it wasn't my thing. I will try another Korean place before I decide it's the cuisine that's not for me. Next time I'm in this neighborhood I'll go to the Thai place (they were closed when we tried them) or the Filipino place or the sushi place. read more

I miss this place. My family and I used to come here every weekend. Best Korean food in Anchorage! Friendly owners. Great Service. Beef Brisket Point, Bulgogi, Galbi, Bibimbob, Kimchi and Bean Sprout Soup, Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup, Steamed Eggs are some of our favorites. Had the Bulgogi jeongol with the table stove and it was perfect. The staff cooked and served the food in front of us and was super nice; great customer service. The dish also came with an abundant amount of side dishes that were all unique in flavor. In addition to the Bulgogi, we also had a rice cake dish which was generous in proportion and delicious.
