Boy oh boy! The first and definitely not last. This food was so great. Every time I visit ATL this will be added to my come backs. The basil chicken was so good. But the green beans with pork were my favorite. The pork medallions were so tender. The salt and pepper shrimp was lacking of flavor. The corn chicken soup was great, so was the hot and sour. But their wonton was a hit and I crave more. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is nicely preserved in time I feel.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are so many celebrities with photos who have come and gone from this world.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staffing was a little slow, but that's ok because there's no rush. They were all nice and friendly.

This is the fried rice. You can get it with, or without egg.

Great location. Parking was right around the corner. Or you can do street parking. Food was excellent. The service was excellent. Bathrooms were clean. Drinks were awesome. I would definitely come back here again and they do have vegetarian options. I told them that I'm allergic to pineapple and MSG. So I was really happy. And here is some pictures for you to take a look at.

The food is decent. I had the fried chicken dumplings, and it was good. The mai tai is strooonngg, btw. I ordered the spicy basil chicken. It has a moderate spice level (coming from someone who loves spicy food). The plate had a decent amount of veggies, so I appreciate that. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dining area is pretty intimate with the tables being close together and low lighting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The wait staff are attentive and got everything right.

This place is a GEM! Let's start with the service. Outstanding! Friendly and engaging. The Mongolian Beef was excellent. I had a wonderful glass of wine to top off this great experience. Nothing not to love here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is very calm with lower lighting and decently spaced tables instead of one on top of another.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Cant wait to go back.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]What a cool spot! So many celebrities photos on the walls.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Very quick and affordable lunch. The menu is a little small for a Chinese place. At first, the service was great but then I think they forgot about us... had a hard time paying the bill. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bathroom was nice and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Very good food!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great service, flavorful food, and a charming ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A bit on the pricey side, but well worth it -- we'll definitely be back!

    Service Charge Added Without Consent

On January 27, 2025, I dined at Hsu's Gourmet Restaurant. The Chinese male manager kindly seated me in a quiet, private spot, which I appreciated. My server, a male employee (not Chinese), possibly named "Z Team F" per the receipt, was very friendly and recommended the Monk's Delight. What impressed me most was how he explained an English word on the menu in Chinese--unexpected but very helpful. The food and service were excellent--easily deserving of a five-star rating. However, the handling of service charges could be improved. When I requested the check, I mentioned that I would be paying with Apple Pay. Before completing the transaction, I asked the server how I should handle the tip--whether I should specify the tip amount before paying or write it on the receipt afterward. He told me I could simply write it on the receipt. After paying, I noticed that a $10 service charge had been added without my consent. Since Apple Pay refunds can be complicated, I chose not to dispute it. However, I believe customers should have the choice to add service charges and tips rather than having them imposed automatically. Considering the excellent food and service but also this issue, I've given the restaurant an overall four-star rating.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]FIVE STAR PLUS!! Omg. There were some locals there and they were fun as hell. That tells you something about a local establishment. They said they go there every day[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I now know why the bartender and the host have been there over 50 years together. I got the tofu broccoli, the lettuce, wrap, vegetables And it was crazy then somebody has a sense of humor because I got a Japanese beer and a Chinese beer. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Super cool place there. I promise you will love it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] And Hasib the man behind the bar is crazy outstanding perfect dude. Funny, outgoing and great conversation. I will be back.

    Chicken Corn Soup

Food was very good and the service was attentive and quick. I especially enjoyed the Chicken Corn Soup and the Salt Pepper shrimp. The restaurant was full of convention goers on a Monday night but the service was on point. Good ambience. Only complaint was the service charge that was stacked on automatically for two people. We would have left that tip anyway! That's why I can't justify 5 stars.

We were a party of 5 and found both the food and the service to be inconsistent. The Food: Most dishes were mediocre or worse. The Three Cups Chicken (1/5) was the worst I've ever had. The Hong Kong Style Shrimp (1/5) was just bland, tasteless fried shrimp. The Lamb with Scallion (2/5) was far too salty. The only "average" dish was the Spicy Beef and Tendon (3/5), but one decent dish can't save a meal this poor. The Service & Billing: The service was quite slow during our visit. We waited a long time for the check and eventually ended up packing our own leftovers and heading to the front counter to pay so we could head out. I was also surprised to see an automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill, especially since it was calculated on the total after tax ($23.07 tip on a $106.80 subtotal). While I understand automatic tips for groups, it felt a bit high due to poor services. There are a lot of great dining spots in the area, but based on this disappointing visit, I'm sure I would not return to this one.

As for the food, I usually tend to be fairly generous in my ratings, but on the day I visited, the dishes were noticeably salty. The seafood noodle soup, jajangmyeon, and fried rice were all saltier than expected. I'm not sure if it was just an off day, but this part was a bit disappointing. The whole setup is like a mini food hall with several authentic Chinese spots to choose from--but Chong Qing is where I landed. I ordered the crispy chicken with garlic sauce and swapped the white rice for a side of house lo mein (yes, it's an upcharge, but worth it). Everything came out on real dishes--not to-go boxes--which I loved. You order and pay at the counter, grab a seat, and they bring the food out to you. Now let's talk about the food... DELICIOUS. The spice level was just right--flavorful with a nice kick, but not overpowering. If you like it hotter, you can definitely add more heat, but I was perfectly satisfied as is. The lo mein was really good too--veggies were fresh with a nice crisp (those onions and carrots were hitting!), and everything tasted well-balanced. Only small note: I wish there was a little more meat in the dish, but it didn't take away from the overall experience. And let me say this--the portion size is VERY generous. I ate until I was full and still had just as much left to take home, which is always a win in my book. All in all, I'll definitely be back to try more.
