If I could give a .5 star I would rate it 2.5. My spouse and I are new to the area and were really excited to try this place since we can normally smell the food cooking from our apartments near by. The customer service was excellent, restaurant lobby was very clean, and we received the food quickly. The rice and pork were cooked perfectly, but the pork lacked seasoning or flavor. Unfortunately, where I really lost my appetite was with the calamari. I've been a life long lover of the dish, it's an easy one to over cook and become rubbery. The calamari was so overcooked however, the first piece I tried to eat, I broke a tooth and had to spit it out. The tempura batter tasted nice, but I couldn't bare to eat more because of how overly cooked it was. Overall, if you're looking for a good pulled pork and some quality rice, I highly recommend this place. But definitely stray away from the calamari. First time I've been to Hula Boy. It's definitely a hole in the wall feel. The food was really good. The portions large. The service is nearly nonexistent. I ordered and the young man taking my order didn't know I was eating in. It was discombobulated but I got seated and ate. I got up to leave and there were two staff at the register. My go to place to fulfill my Hawaiian BBQ craving! Never disappoints, just don't expect to be healthy or have a hearty serving of veggies when you come here lol. Instead you do get your money's worth of Hawaiian BBQ and rice / yakisoba. Their yakisoba has a slightly sweet flavor. Whenever I get their plate, it lasts me about 2 meals. My top 2 favorite meats are their LA Galbi and the chicken teriyaki. You also have to get their macaroni as a side! You get a choice for a smaller side between kimchi (my go to), pickled veggies, or corn. The place is busy with people constantly coming in and out for their to go orders but also has plenty of seats inside. Whenever I come, just about a little over half of the restaurant is usually filled with seated customers, so you should be able to find a spot. Great for families or any casual setting. read more

This place is solid! This is my go-to Hawaiian spot in Vancouver. Easy in / easy out. Very quick, friendly and the menu is HUGE! A HUGE menu isn't always a good thing. I went with the bbq burger, I was served a thin piece of charcoal which had been a beef patty before it was incinerated on their grill. The French fries were basic, served hit. The wife liked the Loki Moki. When I pointed out the state of the burger, they did offer to replace it. I was short on time and had to pass. Fwiw, the burger started off a lot smaller than the Loki Moki beef patty, so if you're hungry, skip the burger. read more

The food is good. This complaint is about their service through Door Dash. The last two orders I've placed have been incomplete. Previously I ordered the teriyaki chicken and teriyaki beef combo and had added "pork". I received a single short rib added to that order. Tonight I ordered the Kalua pork plate and paid $4.99 to add beef. There was no beef in sight. Today on Easter 4/20 I purchased the Korean sesame crispy chicken meal and the pork egg rolls. The Korean chicken was too crispy to a point where it was dry. I asked for another table which was the same size, was told no it was only for 4 people. They wanted to seat me in a dark spot.
