We had dinner, the ambience was great! The music is smooth jazzy, very relaxing! Food was absolutely delicious! But the best part is the staff! Catie P was our server and was on point the entire time. Gave us full attention, checked on us exactly when she should have and was a delight! All the staff was excellent! You see here what you don't see at most restaurants. Everyone helps everyone! If a staff member saw something that needed to be done, they just took care of it. Real Teamwork going on here! SO disappointed. I had heard such great things about this restaurant, I brought my whole family to try it out. Unfortunately the service was absolutely terrible, the worst service I've experienced at a restaurant in years. The server and staff seemed more interested in socializing than doing their job. The drinks took 20 mins to come out, none of which were alcohol. We asked for a salt shaker once our meals finally arrived, by the time the server brought the salt to the table the meal was cold, (the salt came only after reminding her we needed it a second time). My daughter's meal came out in parts, she got her full meal by the time everyone was almost done with theirs. It was decent food, just very under seasoned and desperately needed salt. Once I requested to pay the bill it took another 20 mins, I had to go to the hostess and request my server process the payment so we could finally get out of the place. I tried to reach out privately to the restaurant in hopes this was just a fluke but they never even responded. I spent over 200$ on the worst service I've ever experienced in the Phoenix/Gilbert/Chandler area. I would definitely not recommend. Even going out to the Cheesecake Factory on a Friday night has better service than this, and Humble Bistro wasn't even busy, that's the worst part. Don't waste your money. read more

We came here for my friends birthday dinner as a last-minute resort, and it was a fantastic idea as there was no wait at all on a Thursday night! The vibes were sort of like a French bistro/speakeasy restaurant. My friend and I shared a bistro board and thoroughly enjoyed the selection that was presented on the board. I'm torn on star rating as there were good and bad aspects, but I would definitely go back. The good: Great ambiance and not too loud. Music was a little weird but at least not loud. Brunch Cubano was really good! Bad: Our waitress offered marinara and/or Alfredo to go with the bread. We said sure, as we had a large group and figured someone might want them. Then we were charged $3 for the marinara and $5 for the Alfredo to go with the $9 bread. The bread itself wasn't very good. Weird: They won't move tables because if they start moving tables then they'll be moving tables a lot. OK so our party of 9 had to sit at 3 tables for 4 next to each other. Not a big deal but a bit odd. We asked for salt and pepper because like most people, we salt and pepper our eggs. It came out in little plastic cups. Who doesn't just have salt and pepper? Ate lunch here on Tuesday 5/20/25 with a group of 5 other ladies. We're ages 55-85 & go out to a different restaurant every Tuesday. This was their 1st visit. I'd been here once before for brunch (bad experience for me due to them only having tomato based or spicy options & I don't do either.). Our waitress was friendly, competent, & patient with us (one lady has memory issues & repeatedly asks the same questions). Important to note that our waitress had NO problems giving us separate checks & did NOT charge us an automatic group gratuity. (I think this is a sign of a good restaurant with competent wait staff - cause I'll always tip great servers 20% or more). I and 2 others all had the Short rib grilled cheese with No jalapeños or spicy mayo. I got side salad with champagne vinaigrette & others got the fries (side was included). We all really enjoyed the sandwiches. Nice fried cheese on the outside, tasty bread, & generous amount of meat BUT, it needed a sauce. The ONLY non-spicy options is their Fancy sauce. (I think it's BBQ sauce & mayo?) It's tasty & a great addition to the sandwich. Two got the Cajun chicken club sandwich with fries & without spicy mayo. They both enjoyed it & said it was really flavorful. Another got the Pasta Rosa - she doesn't like cheese & she thought it too cheesy for her liking. She should have just for marina sauce instead. All but 1 of us had to take home half our sandwich. Then, we asked for a dessert menu - waitress gave us 1 well-used crumpled menu that looked like a used postcard - see my pic. (Should be replaced). She also told us that today they also had tiramisu & bread pudding that wasn't listed. Thought dessert prices were good. One ordered tiramisu, one ordered a scoop of vanilla ice cream, & i ordered the warm, gooey chocolate brownie that also came with ice cream. We all shared & tried all of the desserts. My brownie was the best - 3 of us devoured it quickly. The tiramisu was dry - layers weren't soaked enough - but mascarpone tasted great & piece size was generous - hopefully, just an off day. To the restaurants owners, managers, & chefs - you're really limiting your customer base by NOT providing more Non-spicy options especially at lunch. There's a-lot of people in the area that you are keeping out of your restaurant & you weren't very busy for lunch that day. I especially think it's CRAZY that you don't have a non-jalapeño Caesar dressing. Not everyone can eat peppers. read more

There were 4 of us ladies that went here for lunch recently.First walked in to extremely LOUD music. After we were seated we literally couldn't hear each other talking due to the LOUD music ! This is absolutely ridiculous. No reason for this! There are several complaints about how loud the music is clearly management doesn't care!!! Two of us had the lasagna. Worst ever! Our server was friendly and helpful. Their sourdough bread is freaking awesome! I could easily go there and just eat that! Everything we ordered was delicious. We will definitely be back. Pro tip: We went on a Friday night around 5:45. I discovered on their website that you can join the wait-list, which I did. I'm often disappointed by restaurants but HB was a nice surprise! The ambience is really nice, music is a bit loud. Our server Rylie was so sweet and attentive and offered some great suggestions. We had the No Way Rose which was delicious, short rib pappardelle, humble brussels (yummmm), Cajun shrimp and the gentleman pizza. All were really, really good! We showed up when it said our wait time was 0 minutes and asked the host how much longer and she informed us that app is incorrect and it would be an additional 45 min. Our server made great recommendation and tended to us efficiently! I ordered the Canjun Chicken Alfredo, which is a fresh pappardelle in a light parmesan cream sauce with a hint of pickled jalapeño & finished with parmesan, pecorino & pepita pesto pearl. Dark woods, stunning lighting and Italian music greet you giving an upscale vibe. Great menu and although I battled between ordering The Camerons or the crispy Brussels but the shrimp won. If you have not been here before this is your sign to go. The ambiance is very welcoming , it is not TOO fancy, but not TOO casual. Service is very fast and usually there is a wait but they seat you pretty quick. (pro tip - call in 30-45 min ahead as they do not take reservations but they can put you on the wait list!!!) I've come here many times before but unfortunately i will not be back tonight. The hostess let me know it would be about a 30-45 minute wait for a table for 11. She let us know they only have one spot available for that many and a 5 top is at one of them. When they leave they would push the tables together and we could sit there no problem. After 45 minutes I noticed a two top was sat on the other table we were supposed to have, and had just been given menus. I went to speak to the hostess who told me she figured they would be kinda fast but since the kitchen was backed up it would be an additional hour to wait. As someone who has worked in restaurants I understand it can be stressful accommodating many people but turning out wait from 30 to 45 minutes to almost 2 hours is just unacceptable. The way my guests and i were spoken to was rude and condescending. Will not be coming back. read more

Humble bistro is the best Italian in Gilbert! The menu is fantastic, the wine selection is great, and the ambience is intimate. Their crowning achievement in the Gilbert culinary landscape is that they make homemade noodles. I will drive for homemade noodles. I highly recommend their lasagna and recommend you get there early because it sells out fast. The charcuterie boards are pretty good and so is their bread but the pasta is where it is at. My one request, create a reservation system. My friends and I would visit so much more if there was an option for reservations. We are always looking for places to have get togethers whether it be lunch, dinner, or celebrate a birthday. Please give us reservations! read more

Our very first time tonight. From the door to the table, our experience was just lovely. We order wings, the Maximus pizza, their house wine and the incredible tiramisu. Then wings were crispy on the outside and so tender in the inside. Their sourdough crust is airy but crispy and perfectly salted. Their sauce and all of the ingredients were just perfect together and complimentedthe wine. We would absolutely come back and highly recommend this establishment. The good: the ambiance is great, the wine list is vast with high end wine choices, and the sourdough appetizer hit the spot. First thing I get when I walk in is a Great Gatsby upscale saloon vibe. Our waitress was great. We were tucked away in a corner that could have left us isolated and forgotten about but she did a great job keeping an eye on us Food was outstanding. We got the Nosh and Slosh special that had several different items on it plus a bottle of wine. The jalapeno hummus was our favorite. The ricotta with chili honey was tasty. I love artichokes and these were delicious. The brussel sprouts were ok. A little on the oily side due to being fried. The bread that came with it is now my new favorite bread for everything. We also got the cold water mussels cioppino style. The broth made this dish. So good with just the right amount of heat. Last was the forno short rib served over fries with a rich beef demi. We didn't finish cause we were getting full but the demi was delicious and the short rib was tender and fall apart. For dessert we got the churo and ice cream. Quite possibly my new favorite dessert. The warm churo and cold ice cream was the perfect bite. Looking forward to going back to try other items on the menu. read more

The Italian food here is so flavorful and mindblowingly delicious. My favorite is THOSE CAMARONES!!! Saying the sauce is good or delicious is an understatement. Happened upon Humble Bistro late Saturday afternoon after coming back from the Suns first scrimmage practice before their season starts. Surprised to see how small it is in the inside compared to how the outside building looks. Not the amount of seating I would have expected, but a quaint little spot with an old timey classic charm, a dim dinning room & a robust Italian ambiance. Our server arrived just right after we were seated and had water in hand and offered us additional drinks. I stuck with that, while my husband ordered a beer. They do have a nice open bar concept with some outdoor seating as well. After looking over the menu the server shared that everything is made fresh in house and it's a creative chef inspired list of unique recipes. My husband & I decided to order a few things that stood out to share. We went with the wings to start, followed by the caesar salad, the truffle pasta & gentleman's pie. EVERYTHING was amazing! Wings-we had with their spicy Korean which is served on the side. The other dipping sauce was like a cilantro ranch which paired well with the wings. The wings themselves had a nice flavor too! Caesar is a stand out here & a must have. The jalapeño dressing & breadcrumbs were a surprising change from the original version and for a unique touch the added crunch of fried brussels on top was the bomb! I'd have to say our favorite caesar salad out thus far! Still talking about it! The pasta was absolutely delicious & highly recommend! The braised meatballs were in a rich red sauce and were so moist, tender & tasty. The truffle pasta was in a rich light white cream & had a dollop of whipped ricotta on top! This was a standout dish. The gentleman's pie was good. The dough is made in house and is light airy and crispy with blends of amazing flavors on top. Our waiter was extremely professional and pleasant. In asking him more questions about this spot we learned that the owner is originally from Canada. He's also the owner of ALL the Valley's Humble Pie's and the other Humble Bistro in Phoenix as well. He recently also opened a new restaurant called Humble Oysters & Bubbles in Scottsdale. We can't wait to check this place out as it has gotten rave reviews with being a hot new spot in the most "Western Town" in AZ. Highly suggest to come here on off hours as peak would find it extremely difficult to get seated right away and would imagine long wait times. Do not take reservations. They have a social hour daily till 5 PM which they offer about 7 items at a lesser price including that incredible pasta dish! read more
