We decided to try the stuffed boneless chicken wings which were stuffed w ground pork and fried. Delicious!! I ordered the grilled pork rice noodle bowl. This too was tasty and I would recommend it. I stopped here a couple days ago. I decided to try the shrimp and avocado spring rolls. It's 2 nice size rolls. It served with fish sauce and peanut sauce. The rolls were delicious! And the fish sauce helped enhance the flavors. Yummy!! read more

By far, ABQ has some of the best Vietnamese food I've ever had. This place supports my argument. We ordered the papaya salad, rice noodles with tofu and the combination platter with the pork chop and bbq pork. All of the dishes were amazing. The customer service was great as well. The Vietnamese food here sets a high ass bar. I think I eat it at least twice a week and this place will be added to the rotation for sure. read more

My husband loves Vietnamese restaurants and I tend to avoid them. However, after reading a review on Huong Thao, I decided to give it another try for hubby's sake. Well! We both loved the food here and the owners were very pleasant and helpful too. Clean as a whistle...lots of return customers too, that all the wait staff welcomed back for another meal with them. We can't wait to return for another perfectly delicious meal...maybe we'll try something new but the Huong Thao Pho and the Buddha Bowl were hard to beat! Highly Recommend! read more

Another mainstay Pho Restaurant! 4 stars only because it's not my favorite Pho Restaurant in ABQ, but 4 stars is good considering how many Pho Restaurants there are here. The Price is my favorite part of this restaurant so far. I've only been there twice. They have all of the standard soups and what I've had so far has been good. What draws me back is the price. At just under $8 for a bowl of soup, they're competitive. Most places run $9-10 and pho is not getting cheaper. I eat soup at least once a week year round, so price is a factor...quality is a must...Huong Thao has both! read more

This is kind of embarrassing. My husband and I moved to Albuquerque about six months ago and have been coming to Huong Thao pretty much every week since we moved here. We go so often that the servers pretty much have our orders memorized. Our typical order is spring rolls with pork and shrimp, a grilled beef with rice noodle cake, a pho with no meat and an avocado shake for the husband. I lived in LA and DC before moving to Albuquerque, so I have had my fair share of authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Huong Thao delivers! My only complaint is that I am not a huge fan of the beef that is served with the pho, which is why I order it with no meat. The broth and noodles are so tasty that I don't miss the meat. read more

The New Mexico spring rolls are delicious - I usually get the vegetable and tofu pho and my husband the crunchy noodles- hard to deviate because we love our normal choices but everything else I have tried was spot on! Tried this place this weekend, while finding out that our other favorite spot was closed! Based on the other reviews, we thought it sounded pretty good. Service was a little slow, but server was friendly and food was good. I've had Pho at many places, and most of the time it tastes the same. This place was no exception. I don't usually choose a Vietnamese restaurant because I am not familiar with Viet dishes. Sure enough, I am lost looking at the menu. We ordered the following: teriyaki beef with white rice and veggies (safe choice for a child), lemongrass flavored calamari, bun mi (pork) sandwich, and stir fried shrimp noodle bowl. I did not expect my stir fried shrimp noodle to be pale. I thought at first it must be raw but surprisingly it was not and cold temp-wise to my taste. My preference is not for Vietnamese dishes though the calamari could have been okay, just too spicy. The bun mi was okay, not spectacular. Some friends recommended Pho on facebook for safe order with some cheesy joke, "Pho better or worse." Still, I looked Pho up and I am a visual person and Pho looks like a hodgepodge of soup and did not appeal to me. I guess if you like it, you will like it, so it comes down to personal preference. Not my cup of tea but for those who like Vietnamese food, this is a decent Vietnamese restaurant, Huong Thao is the place for you. read more

I love this restaurant. Everytime we visit, the staff is super friendly, and the food is fresh and comforting. We usually go for spring rolls and pho. We've tried the veggie spring rolls, shrimp rolls, and the New Mexico roll and all three are excellent. As for pho, I'm addicted to the tripe pho. Some Vietnamese restuatants I've been to skimp on the tripe, but here I always have enough in my bowl. The herbs that come with the pho are fragrant and fresh and the broth is so darn delicious. Combined with big portions and extremely affordable prices, this restarant is definitely on my top 5 of ABQ list. read more

Our favorite restaurant to dine as a family! It's not super fancy but it is still somewhere we go for birthdays or even just to catch up, and we travel ALL the way from the Nob Hill area to get here. Lol! You must try the combination 'wrappers' ( it's a communal make your own spring roll experience), 'combination' crispy noodles ( I am sure it's high in calories but it's big enough to share), the pho ( good for a cold and the soul) and anything with lemon grass!!!! I am from ABQ but live in San Francisco. This is one of the few vietnamese places in abq i haven't been to. Came here on Christmas eve and it was awesome! I didn't try their pho but the everything they had was fantastic and the prices were very very reasonable. The waitress we had was awesome. New Mexico Spring Rolls: I love spring rolls. I love green chile. I love avocados. But i was very doubtful of combining them. First of all... one order is HUGE. Secondly it was very tasty. I would absolutely get it again. I tried the lemon grass shrimp, spicy lemongrass soup, the lemongrass chicken, the vietnamese crepe, and the sandwiches. All were very good and large portions... but mostly very very good. I love this place! My husband is Vietnamese so we often eat at the local restaurants here trying out all of the Pho. This place we go to almost every weekend. I always get the Rare beef Pho with double meat, we tend to get egg rolls and my husband usually changes up his meals. We tend to get it to go but sometimes we will sit at the restaurant and eat. The staff is always on point! They always remember that I like extra sauce with my Bún tht nng(vermicelli salad). The Pho is great!
