I still don't understand why they didn't want to make things right the day of the move (the mover had called the company to tell them my complaints day of and ask for some form of compensation, told me not to call them directly), but at least there was some follow through. I wish they had gotten it right the first time and had offered adequate compensation before I had to write a 3 star review, but it happens. I had a great experience with this moving company today! I moved 5.5 miles, and the two men assisting me with the move took a total of 2 hours and 15 minutes to complete it. There were a few items that I did not have packed yet because I was behind schedule, but the movers assisted me in getting the boxes packed and taped up! This was my first time ever using a moving company, and I was surprised to see how fast my items were loaded onto the truck and unloaded into my new apartment. I needed help moving a fridge and sectional couch from several different locations and upon reading Ian's Yelp reviews I felt that he was the best choice. Ian showed up on time as planned and wrapped my fridge carefully with blankets and shrink wrap material, belted it to a dolly and carefully brought it down the stairs and load it onto his truck. As we move from location to location he already had all the addresses mapped out on his mobile phone so I didn't have to remind him where to go. The fridge was an "easy move" for him. I don't even want to imagine how long it would have taken me to move it up and down the stairs. Once he placed the fridge in my apartment he advised me not to plug it in yet due to fluids that would move around during the move. Thank goodness he knew that because there was no way I would have known that. My couch unfortunately was not an easy move into my apartment. He removed the bottom legs of the couch (he came prepared with power tools!) and the door frame was too tight so Ian removed the bottom part of the door frame to create an extra inch of space. Ian and my boyfriend tried so many different angles and option to bring the couch in and I was seriously amazed at his patience and care to not cause any damage to my couch. It took them over half an hour before finally the couch magically slid in. He put the legs back on my couch, vacuumned up the mess the door frame made with the broken splinters. As most my Yelp posts always has, here are the pros and cons: Pros: - On time, reliable, prepared - Experienced - Great with logistics - Patient - Easy going - Affordable prices (it's all listed on his website, no hidden fees) - Takes great care of your appliance/furniture Cons: - None. I found Ian on Craigslist about 8 years ago and kept his number in my phone that whole time, just to call up whenever I needed to move something. I also kept it so I could recommend him to friends! That might sound crazy, but he's just that awesome. For example, I got a free couch from my boss, but she lived in Mid-Wilshire and I lived in Long Beach and had a Toyota Corolla. So, I needed someone to bring the couch (a huge sectional with a lounge) all the way to the LBC for me. Ian rented a trailer, got it down to LB for me, and even removed my old couch and put it on the curb, where it disappeared 20 minutes later. I didn't have to lift a finger or deal with any logistics. Yay! Even when my BF and I did a lot of our own moving and packing, I called Ian to help with unloading. He is super fast, comes with all the right equipment and supplies, and basically makes the whole transition less stressful. He knows exactly what he's doing. I just can't say enough about how efficient he is, and his personality and calm, positive demeanor help make moving not a total bitch. We finally said goodbye to LA recently and Ian and his friend helped us load up the truck for Oregon. He carefully wrapped all our furniture in moving blankets and plastic wrap, and our whole life got packed up, nice and neat, in a couple hours. When we got to OR, I hired a couple movers off Craigslist who turned out to be tweakers, and I sure missed and appreciated Ian's professionalism more than ever!
