Stopped by for something sweet. This was my second time here. Stopped in around 1pm. No one else was here & looks like they just opened as the lady was still just settling in like unloading her car & turning the ac on. I Ordered the black sticky rice with mango. It's a lot of rice. It was ok. I probably won't order this again. It took her awhile to make everything as she had to move her car after unloading & then took the next customers order. She's a one person shop & she does everything. Super friendly everytime. I really want to try their chili oil chicken dumplings so next time.
Stopped in for snack. The small shop was busy when we arrived. We ordered the pork wonton with fish ball soup and chicken dumplings with chili oil. Soup was flavorful. Dumplings were light and delicious. Ordered the egg puff ice cream cone and brown sugar milk tea with boba on way out. The young man who took our order was very patient and helpful. The woman who runs the shop was also pleasant
Ice Dream is a smallish restaurant/dessert place in a shopping center near Sheldon Rd and Bruceville Rd. There are only a few tables inside. They offer some delicious won ton noodle soup, hot oil won ton, congee, and other hot foods. Plus, they do a good job on desserts like mango with sago. Not an extensive menu but plenty to choose from for a light meal or snacks.
We came on a Sunday night and it was pretty busy as there was a big party in front of us. There were only two employees working, but they were very fast. We even had a chance to try out their ice cream flavors. We got the sago with fresh mango and ice cream for $10.50. They even gave us a bigger scoop of ice cream as we were waiting a bit longer than usual. It came out in a 32 oz container and could feed 3-4 people. It was so delicious and fresh. The mango ice cream complemented everything so well. Great service and prices, I will definitely be back!
Very clean, welcoming atmosphere. The staff were super nice. The ice cream egg puff takes 15 min to make but it's worth it because the egg puff was delicious. It was chewy and crispy. I like the ice cream too because it's from Gunther's. This place was busy and I can see why now. The milk tea was perfect too, definitely will come back here again because my daughter likes it.
This local spot has a bunch of dessert options and even offer some hot food as well. They have alot of ice cream flavors on display and that is really their sweet spot. You can get them by scoop, sundae and even in a egg puff cone, which looked popular. I go for the Gunthers 50/50 as it always hits the spot. They have boba milk teas, and a bunch of other drinks, cold Asian dessert like sage and grass jelly, and hot dessert like sesame balls. They also offer dumplings and wontons, I tried the spicy wontons and they were pretty standard and the actual wonton could use more seasoning as it was all hot oil flavor. They were light and prepared well. The ladies working were very friendly and helpful. This is a great place to get something sweet and maybe something on the side too.
This is probably one the best authentic Hong Kong/Taiwanese/Chinese or whatever you want to call it dessert. I know there are lots of South Sac eats, but this place is clean and have good customer service. Very chill vibes to drop by and enjoy a nice cool dessert during the summer time. I tried both the sago grass jelly and icy grass jelly with taro. Both were really good and hard to choose which one is better. Not too sweet, and the taro was freshly made with the red beans. It took a while to get the icy grass jelly with tari order, but I rather wait then get premade items.
Food: 5/5 the mango, black rice with coconut milk was so good! Rice was cooked perfectly and sticky, right sweetness with the coconut milk and mangoes were fresh. Service: 4/5 stopped in on a late Friday evening around 9pm. Was busy with a few groups seated, few DoorDash orders, and only a few workers. Was a little slow, but not crazy. Ambiance: 4/5 typical boba spot, tables along the side with an L couch in the front. Small spot overall.
Ice Dream is such a hidden gem. I'm so glad I found this spot through Yelp. It's tucked inside the Laguna Village Shopping Plaza, right between Cafe La Vies and Subway. It's easy to miss if you're not looking for it, but that also means parking is a breeze, which I appreciated. When I walked in, I was greeted right away, and even though I took a while to decide, the girl working the counter was super patient and kind, which I really appreciated. Initially I thought I was just coming here for ice cream, but I quickly realized they offer so much more. From mango sticky rice and sago variations to dumplings and wontons, they've got a wide range of Asian-inspired desserts and savory dishes. I ended up getting: - Egg Puff Ice Cream Cone with Oreo Cookie ice cream ($10.95) The egg puff cone itself was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside. I also loved that it's served as a bouquet. The presentation is fun and cute. Also the fresh-cut bananas and strawberries added the perfect touch of sweetness and balance to the cone. Without them, this probably would've felt a little too heavy for me. They get major brownie points for using Gunther's Ice Cream and fruit freezes, I loved seeing a local favorite featured here. Inside, there's plenty of seating and a few picture-worthy walls that would be perfect for an ice cream moment. I wanted to get a cute photo, but I didn't want to risk my ice cream falling out of the cone. Can't wait to come back and try some of their hot foods and sago desserts next!
Sooooo friendly! Just wanted some ice cream and was pleasantly surprised to see all the food options here! (There was taro ice cream!!! ) We need to come back and eat! A few high top tables and some couches in the front. Saw people order boba and some others making comments on the delicious congee. Next time!
My boyfriend ordered the banana split with cookie dough, green tea, and birthday cake ice cream. I ordered the egg puff with condensed milk and 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side. They do have the option to order the egg puff cone with 1 scoop of ice cream + bananas/strawberry, but since I requested to have the items packed separately, I was charged separately for items. All of their ice cream flavors were really good! I personally really liked the green tea and cookie dough ice cream the most. The egg puff was cooked perfectly; it was chewy in the middle and crispy on the outside. We sat at the booth in the front with the coffee table. The inside is small but it can hold around 14 people. Service was pretty good and quick as well. I would come back again!
This is a small little dessert shop - it's next to a coffee shop and nearby a fitness center. Plenty of parking. There's tons to choose from here and they have Gunther'a ice cream! I was greeted immediately when I walked in the door by a very sweet lady who made me a couple of recommendations. I ordered the Hong Kong style lemon tea. It's HK style so it's not too sweet, but more tea like. I like this style of tea a lot! I also got a mini croffle puff that had ube ice cream in it. What a nice lil treat!! I also grabbed an egg puff with Nutella to go for my hubs. The sweet lady put my Nutella in a container for me bc she knew I wasn't heading home yet so it wouldn't get soggy. I got it home (which was a feat, it smelled really good in my car) and we toasted it up before slathering on the Nutella. It was delicious! Thank to yelp event, I found this little gem. First time here was great. The elderly lady and manager guy greated us nicely and explained everything well. They are the sweetest, top notch customer service and very welcoming. We had horacha milk tea, lemon tea, taro and green tea. Ice cream from Gunters Ice cream yummmmmm! Horacha ice cream with milk tea was perfect combination. Lemon tea was refreshing! I"ll bring my family here next time, There are so many sweets I want to try like egg puff with icecream. There's nothing like Ice Dream in Elk Grove, which is so great! The Hong Kong lemon tea was really good. It felt comforting and authentic. Like my grandma made me a cup of ice tea. Lol, it wasn't too sweet and you can clearly taste the lemon without a sour taste. The little croissant ice cream sandwich was intriguing and perfect for a hot Tuesday evening. The staff were all so friendly, constantly checking in and making sure I enjoyed my little treats. I love that they offer Gunther's 50/50. Now I don't have to drive down to Broadway for it! read more
It's a cute small place. They have many flavors of ice creams, hk/Taiwanese desserts. I tried their grass jelly with mango and toddy palm it was so refreshing and yummy! It reminds of HK! Their hk lemon tea is so identical to the one I ordered from HK!!! Totally recommend it!!!! read more

Amazing taiwanese street food and asian desserts here, my favorite items are the chili oil wonton (best wontons i've ever had) and the black sticky rice with mango, which is a classic. they also have gunther's ice cream and bubble waffles along with taiwanese drinks like milk tea and lemon black tea. The service is friendly, it's a small family owned business and the lady there is always so friendly and hardworking, I love supporting businesses like this :) The interior is very pink and cute and it's small but there are tables and seating available if you prefer to dine in. read more
My visit was underwhelming when looking at the other glowing reviews. We ordered two items that had stars next to them on the menu, thinking they would be our best bets. We ordered the boba brown sugar milk tea and the cold dessert with red bean, sago, and toddy palm. I also like ordering the "special" or a "baseline" sort of milk tea for comparison to other places, hence the boba brown sugar milk tea. Service was ok, pretty bare bones...was hoping for a little more engagement and introduction to the menu since they are newer. Boba brown sugar milk tea - it was a plain black milk tea. I expected some brown sugar syrup drizzled on the cup like other tea places. They might just use brown sugar as the sweetener and not for aesthetics. The boba wasn't sweetened, but otherwise texture was average. I also found a huge chunk of shaved ice in my drink...flavor wise the drink was equivalent to a Lollicup/Quicklys. Pretty pricey at about $6 for what we got and considering local competition. Red bean, sago, toddy palm dessert - I usually enjoy cold asian desserts. This one had way too much sago (check out the pics before and after mixing). At least half the dessert cup was sago, with a touch of red bean, toddy palm, and coconut milk. The coconut milk wasn't sweetened at all. It was as if it came straight out of the can. There were probably 6-7 pieces of toddy palm at best, which I was hoping for more, since I enjoy the texture. The red bean was sweet, pretty standard for an asian dessert. I didn't want to finish the dessert because there was just too much sago and the taste was plain...as a side, I usually like things "not too sweet" but this didn't have too much flavor to begin with because the sago to the rest of the dessert ratio was pretty off. I think that the items I ordered could easily be assembled at home, hence why I was disappointed. Perhaps their signature items are ice cream and the egg waffles, which are things I wouldn't be able to make myself. Do note that the egg waffles take about 15 minutes to prepare, as indicated on their menu. Don't forget the 10% off Yelp check-in offer. read more

New spot that serves Hong-Kong-style-cafe items, milk tea, and ice cream (Gunther's!!!). Got the sesame ball in black sesame soup and egg puff w/ condensed milk & peanut butter. Sesame ball in black sesame soup: soup was soothing and earthy (yum yum), but it was a tad too watery. Wasn't a fan of the sesame balls; wished they were just plain glutinous rice balls because the filling had like an off-putting artificial, additive-filled sesame flavor that even tasted almost savory. Egg puff w/ condensed milk & peanut butter: thought the condensed milk and the peanut butter would be drizzled onto the egg puff but nope they were laid on thick lol. Condensed milk in every crevice and the peanut butter was slathered onto it. Couldn't taste the condensed milk at all because of all of the peanut butter lol. The egg puff itself was good; soft shells, crispiness in between the shells. Overall I like the items offered here, but the execution of them could use some improvement (though not being too hard on this place since it's still in its soft opening). Staff was super friendly. I could see this place being a new rotating hangout spot for folks in the area. read more
Ice Dream! The dream of having an amazing hong kong based ice cream shop in this plaza has finally come true! They just soft opened, so they are testing out different flavors of gunther's ice cream, but their speciality is their Hong Kong style cold sweets! I got their 50/50 Gunther fruit freeze. Pretty typical of fruit freeze if you've had the gunther's one its basically the same thing. My friend got the lychee drink, which was amazing! It had such an amazing lychee taste with a bunch of grass jelly! Super refreshing and would recommend again. The team in the back are super receptive to new flavors and critiques! I highly recommend they bring in some birthday cake and some lemon custard for their Gunther's fruit freeze! However, if you are looking to try some new stuff, their sticky rice with red bean ice creams looks amazing! All of their newer more hong kong style cold sweets are on their right side of the menu. They are still working on RnD and creating new items for the items before their grand opening! Seating, it is small, there are about 4-5 tables with about 3-4 chairs at each section. Very ice cream parlor like, and it is perfect for this summer heat that is going on right now. Parking is not too bad, its a small area, should be able to find parking. Super nice staff, sweets are very good, would highly recommend coming back! They are a cantonese owned business, so definitely come support them! Brand new small business in Elk Grove. I spotted this place when grabbing coffee next door earlier this week and was excited to see they're already open! We came in today for dessert and we were not disappointed! The menu has a nice variety of desserts so you're bound to find something you want. We decided to order a little bit of everything! Service was great, they were so friendly. The older lady was so sweet and kept recommending things we should get. She told us she just tested out the milk tea with ice cream so we ordered that and it was so refreshing. The tea flavor was still coming through nicely with the ice cream and their boba was surprisingly very fresh! Our black sticky rice with mango and coconut milk came out next. The sticky rice was nice and warm. It came with a ton of rice though for what appeared to be half of a mango. I would either decrease the rice amount or put in a full sliced mango for the price and better ratio. Our egg puff came out last, they said it takes about 10-15 minutes which is normal at other places too. It was more like 20 mins but luckily we were enjoying our drink and other dessert first. The egg puff came out nice and crispy on the outside and the banana ice cream was so yummy. I loved that they put fresh strawberry and banana too! It was a pretty looking cone, although a little messy with the ice cream so you just have to eat quickly. I think my only complaint is mainly about the menu pricing. They're probably just figuring it out and maybe they'll readjust after soft opening. But I don't think the drink should've been $8.50 at all - it is a large cup but there shouldn't be any reason that straightforward of a drink should be more than $6. The sticky rice dish should be closer to $7 if they proportion the rice to fruit ratio better. I'm okay with the egg puff cone pricing at $9.95 though. I thought thwt was fair because it was a large portion, perfect for two people to share, and it included a scoop of ice cream + fresh fruits. Such a great spot! You can get a lot of the Asian desserts here that you'd have to drive out to South Sac for, plus they have all kinds of Gunther's ice cream flavors! read more

Small little Asian dessert shop! It was a bit out of the way for me but I'm glad I got to try out Ice Dream. Got to try the ice cream milk tea with vanilla ice cream. Gunther's ice cream is one of the best in Sacramento and they use it here. The tea tasted quite good, as they used loose leaf assam black tea. Paired with the Gunther's ice cream, the drink was delicious. The people working here were super friendly. Their menu has a pretty extensive list of Asian desserts like sago. Definitely would come back next time I'm in the elk Grove area! read more

Came here for a Yelp elite event but stayed for some extra items. Always a great time when you are introduced to new places for delicious boboa. The owner of this place was so wonderful and welcoming. She showed how the tea was made with simple fresh ingredients that weren't overpowering and loaded with excess sugar and fillers. My partner and I had: -Boba Brown Sugar Milk Tea -Signature Hong Kong Lemon Tea with Horchata ice cream The boba with tasty and and the tapioca balls had a faint after taste of coffee which was refreshing. The lemon tea was ordered at the recommendation of the wonderful server Jacky (het girl) and kudos for the recommendation. The ice cream was such a great combination with the tea. I will definitely be back to try some more of their offerings when I am in the area read more

Cool dessert spot when I was searching for Sweets in Elk Grove. This spot popped up & located near Regal Theaters/24 Hrs Gym off Sheldon Rd/Center Parkway. We tried the black rice/coconut & another mix tapioca/coconut mix. Both are different but tasty if you like coconut milk The menu also offered Gunthers ice cream & a classic from old school Merlino's orange/strawberry freezes. We will definitely come back to try other Desserts! read more

Ohhhh so good! Had the hot oil wontons, generous portion, super tasty and just made! Kids enjoyed Gunthers ice cream with good sized single portions. Excited about the bubble waffle - fun and deelish! I loved the Taro and Sago dessert. Now I know where I can get my fix!!!! And Halisa (sp?) the owner/server is super sweet, like my mom Kids wanted to try more yummies - but that is next treat day. We will be back lots. read more

Great place! Anytime I come to the south part of Sacramento iI try to always stop by this place now. They have a new repeat customer. I have had the sago w/mango watermelon ice and mango ice. All great dessert drinks. The hot oil wontons taste amazing as well. Customer service is the best. Very nice people. read more

Dessert hits the spot when you are craving something sweet. We ordered sesame soup with sesame balls, mango sago, taro sago, mango sticky rice and a lychee smoothie. The owner shared they use organic and fresh ingredients. Nothing preserved. She highly recommends their wonton noodle soup and porridge. We didn't get to try because it was already sold out. Hardy Taiwan food. Delicious and fresh. Just like grandma can make back home. The congee was super tasty with plentiful chicken along with garlic scallions rice porridge, ginger the hot oil wontons were fabulous with the hint of spice. We highly recommend this restaurant. What a sweet spot ! Came later in the evening since I was busy all day and was pleasantly surprised they were staying open until 9:30. The spot is pretty small but there are places to sit which is nice. I was instantly greeted with smiles. They rushed to my service. I ordered their boba brown sugar milk tea with Gunther's vanilla ice cream, bubble waffle sandwich, and a mango sago to go and found it to be very tasty. This is the first place I have ordered a milk tea and they add a scoop of ice cream. They serve Gunther's ice cream at that! Love it. Seems like a family owned business which I love to try out and support. One of the workers excitedly explained they use real brown sugar and authentic tea. She even showed me the bags of tea and brown sugar that they use. I brought my boyfriend with me and they offered him something to try as well. So sweet of them and hospitable. Great food and customer service. Lots of my favorite chinese dishes available like egg puffporridge, wonton with special sauce, different kinds of desserts and my favorite Hong Kong style milk tea. Owner Alisa that I met over 10 years ago from Blue Moon accommodated to my needs by reduced sugar level on my drink. It was so perfect. Service was great and food was awesome. I'm so happy to find this place with my friends. With so many specialties for a Hong Kong style treats. Nowhere else I would go for a delicious Hong Kong style delights but ICE DREAM! read more

Ice dream is a cute shop with Chinese/Hong Kong desserts. The shop owner was very nice and welcoming with a great energy. My sister and I ordered a scoop of thai tea ice cream and sago w/mango. Since their ice cream is from Gunther's is was delicious and the sago w/mango was not too sweet and was refreshing. The only negative part of my experience was seeing the younger lady behind the counter loudly giving attitude to the owner which caught the attention of all the customers in the store. I hope any attitude of hers will be resolved in the future. I would highly recommend supporting this shop and trying their refreshing desserts! read more
