The ihop holds a special place in my heart. When I first moved out to the Bay from LA, over a decade ago, this is where I met up with my would be housemate. Years later this is where I descended with 24+ students to celebrate the end of another school year. I've since returned over the years whether it be for a random craving (the Swedish pancakes were my jam back in the day) or because I'm in the area (e.g. charging my EV or servicing my car). The point is this place is a constant staple in the area. Service is friendly despite how busy it can get. Last time I was here was a random Monday morning while waiting for my car to be serviced at one of the many dealerships nearby. I wanted more of a coffee shop vibe but didn't want to walk much further so settled for this IHOP. I must admit I was shocked at how packed it was. I had to wait 10 minutes which wasn't bad but just unexpected. Anyway, I have no complaints other than if you're watching what you eat, this may not be the place to casually visit. Because I'm trying to be somewhat healthier I opted for the avocado toast and it was a solid choice but nothing special and, frankly in retrospect, maybe it's better to come here on a cheat day to treat yourself as I'm sure you'll leave more satisfied than I.

I got a table by the window. The view was beautiful. I felt relaxed having lunch here. I ordered an avocado toast with eggs and hash browns. You can also choose fresh fruits for side. They served a jug of coffee instead of a cup, which was really nice. The avocado toast was delicious with lots of avocado and dried tomatoes. The young lady Angie who was my server had the friendliest smile. She asked me if I wanted any dessert. I ordered a strawberry waffle. It was not too sweet, so I was satisfied.

We haven't been to IHOP in years but my mother-in-law was craving their Swedish pancakes so we decided to stop by before my daughter's soccer game. We arrived around 10am and were seated right away. It took about 5 minutes for the server to come over so we already knew what we wanted to order. - Bacon and Jam Benedict: nice combination of salty and sweet but hollandaise sauce lacked flavor - Pesto Egg White Omelette with mushrooms and cherry tomatoes: our favorite dish because of the pesto sauce. Nice and light but still flavorful - Southwest style Benedict with peppers and steak: steak was tender but hollandaise lacked flavor We tried to order the Swedish pancakes as my side to my omelette but they no longer sell them and now have crepes. We told the server that we wanted the crepes instead of pancakes but when we got the food we realized the didn't understand and ordered it as an additional dish. It worked out because we ended up getting pancakes as my side which were better than the crepes anyway. The food is typical of a chain restaurant. We expect that we aren't going to get high quality dishes but the service was lacking. We only saw our server when we ordered and received our food. When we finished we had to look for her in order to get the check and confirmed we were charged the crepes as a full order.

As soon as we enter our server greeted us. She asked we would like a table or booth? She said wherever we like to sit was fine with her! She came and checked on us several times. Very thoughtful! We were finally ready to order. Pictures attached we decided on breakfast. It was came so quickly warm and fresh! The food was very delicious. The strawberries were sweet and huge. The banana pieces were very good not mushy. Whip cream oh yes ! I love whip cream! My hasnrowns were crispy just the way I like them. At first I said hey cheese isn't melted ugh! Than when I mixed it in the eggs it melted right away. Thank goodness bc. She was to nice and I didn't want to complain. As soon as she noticed my daughter glass empty she had a new drink refilled and served. She was on point. After we ate I asked to speak with her manager. I told him she went over and beyond to serve us. I said we will diffidently be back. He jokingly said you can take her!. That was just the icing on the cake! Perfect ending. Off to work! DO NOT ORDER ONLINE FROM HERE! The service is getting worse! First I've been trying to call this restaurant for the past 30mins after it has been delivered and keep getting a "voicemail is not setup" or "we are attending to other customer recording" then the call hangs up! How can I tell you that my order is messed up and wrong when they won't even answer their phones! I ordered onion rings and got less than a handful of fries! All the food was cold and needed to be warmed up again. Last time I ordered blueberry pancakes and never got them. Update- finally was able to speak to someone, the recourse is future free meal but I would have to come in to claim it. Lessoned learned don't use the online or door dash service for IHOP.

You know those days where you end up being soooo busy that 4pm rolls around and you realize you hadn't eaten a thing all day? What about those days you do that and breakfast just sound soooo good?? This was one of those days and ihop was just down the street :) The place was pretty empty... maybe the cold was keeping people indoors? Our waitress was very attentive and kind. And the timing of everything was super spot on. I ordered the dark chocolate mousse pancake combo. I tend to always order their sausage as it's consistently yummy... skin pops and inside is tasty and juicy. I would actually prefer bacon but I like mine super crispy and no IHOP's tend to get that right... so yummy sausage it is! Husband got the brioche bananas foster combo. Both meals had our eggs perfect (over easy and over medium). No complaints from me on this visit!! Granted, when they're busy, we tend to notice a decline in attention and of course timing... but nothing we deem as out of the ordinary. Thanks ihop!

Receipt and the IHOP Store#1714 The address and server#30001 Jesica M

The food was fast it's warmand the server Jesica M she must got up in the wrong side of the bed this morning OMG her attitude and demeanor Wow, I kept asking her so many times do I pay it in her meaning the table or the register and her reply "No, you pay it with me" again, do I pay it in here "NO YOU PAY IT WITH ME." she must be very unhappy what she does because she even call the supervisor and start talking in Spanish right in front of me and she even went to the cook and speaking Spanish. I don't know what they're saying but she seems so MAD early in the morning!!!! Jesica M. you need to take classes online to improve your customer service instead of keep saying and repeating what you like the customer to hear.... I don't know what you're saying with your manager and the cook but I think that was rude while we're doing a transaction. The reason I was asking you is because I pay with my phone not cash but you are still insisting you pay it with me thinking I have cash and you are constantly getting upset since I came in your vibe are so bitter and unhappy. That's not how you welcome customers when they come in and eat so they can come back with this IHOP my very first time here and definitely I am NOT coming back because of your service Jesica M. and take some training on how to be pleasant!!!!

Came here on a Saturday around 1130 and we were seated after 5-10mins. Reason why two stars off: JUAN GARCIA is rude and should NOT be a manager. He does not have the personalities and characteristics of a manager. My friend approached the counter and a group of 4 people were behind him. Despite the obvious, Juan Garcia jotted down the group after us then my friend's name on the list. My friend noticed that and told him we were here first. Juan Garcia, ignored my friend, so my friend repeated himself. Then, this "manager" furiously scratched the names and wrote my friend's name before the group after us, and rudely asked my friend, "there, you happy?" What kind of a manager is this? I'm sorry, two stars off because as a manager he is supposed to be the role model for his staff, but he wasn't. FOOD: It's ok, nothing special. I don't understand why crepes, just crepes, cost ~$10. SERVICE: besides the u acceptable behavior of Juan Garcia, our sever, Victoria was superb. She was always checking on what we need and very polite. She's always on top of her game.

Using a sad tent for outdoor seating.

The food at IHOP is consistent but I was worried when eating here during the COVID restrictions. The servers were very nice and greeted me. It was very busy they were running like crazy. There was not a lot of time for chit-chat. The menu was offered on the app which posed a problem for seniors. The staff brought out a printed menu placemat for those in need. Outdoor seating in a closed covered tent was the COVID option however after hearing Dr. Fauci advising a closed tent should be aired out by an hour, then asking staff if they aired out the tent. I decided to sit outside on one of four of the tables. The food is consistent and good.

I love trying little hole in the wall type restaurants so that I can try something new and different. Nepali cuisine tickles tastebuds and when I saw Wild Boar on the menu, it was over!! I ordered and was really looking forward to trying something new. So... The food gets served and man, talk about depressing. First the portion was tiny for something costing upwards of $17. I'd be generous if there was 12oz. of food on that plate. It was basically "boar", with onions and a flair of cilantro(?). Trying to keep an open mind I pop the first piece of meat in my mouth and good grief!! Tough as nails, impossible to chew, basically hard dry jerky, Also zero sides, no salad or vegetables, just boot leather (color and texture) meat. Did I mention it was cold? Not heat lamp luke warm, just sat on the counter for 10mins cold. So... I swapped it for a hamburger. This was a standard Costco sirloin patty, std. bun, lettuce, tomato, onion. Pepper jack cheese was the upgrade, thankfully, this was served hot. Now I hate to bring up hygiene but at one point the cook walked past us and his BO followed close BEHIND and left an impression... C'mon man, it's a damn restaurant!!! C'MON MAN!!! Now... I just don't get it... In this era of cooking shows, competitions, books, podcasts and celebrities. This world where Gordon Ramsey is EVERYWHERE, how, how, HOW can you not put in some effort!! How can the Owner / Manager allow this?? It was a Friday night, the bar had about nine people at it while the restaurant had the two of us and one other diner. On a Friday night!!!! How do you even stay in business?? Listen, I hope ownership takes note and immediately does something to up their food game. I want them to succeed but if this is the best they can do... Just shut it down. Sad diner, signing off.

We've lived in Hercules for over 30 years and are creatures of habit, so it was nice to venture the 10-minute drive to San Pablo. We were not impressed by the exterior strip mall building, but the interior of Mely's is very cute, homey, and clean. (I even peeked into the kitchen since the door was open.) I wanted pancakes, but got waffles instead since W ordered the blueberry buttermilk stack. We both had a side of eggs, his scrambled and mine sunny side up. The eggs were delish; mine in particular was perfectly cooked with slightly crunchy edges, a beautiful, silky, runny yolk, and no uncooked whites. The blueberry pancakes are so good! Of course they are huge and I ate some of them in addition to my waffle. We could have split just the pancakes and been perfectly happy. They cook berries inside the homemade batter and top them with a house-made blueberry compote. Maple syrup and soft butter on the side. The waffles are crispy outside with a light, airy, center, dusted with powdered sugar and cinnamon. I had strawberries on the side (+$5 !!). Since I ate some of W's pancakes, we took half the waffles home. W had a drip coffee--no decalf available so I had the fresh-squeezed OJ. It was a large glass so I took half of that home, too. The coffee was nothing to rave about, but it was coffee. Service was friendly and efficient--there is only one cook and one server, and it seems several of us arrived at the same time on this Sunday morning. Overall a wonderful find that we will return to so we can explore more dishes. We saw omelets and Benedict's come out that looked amazing! Plus, I want to try the dinner menu, which also looked pretty amazing.
