The food was really good but the service was supper bad they show have nicer people working there

I don't usually go out of my way to review fast food places but we just tried to visit this location and just to try to get seated was a fiasco. No one was taking down names so when we walked up and said table for two, we were just questioned are you next? We said no, we just want to be put down for 2, and we were just brushed off while the server was shouting who's next into a confused crowd. We asked once again after a few people were seated if we can put down a table for two and he just shouted are you next? You're not next. At this point I wasn't sure if this man knew English, but this was not the usual server up front which has been very nice in the past. Of course we just walked out and left behind a confused crowd up by the front and left to another spot close by. read more

I ordered raspberry white chocolate chip pancakes and couldn't taste nor find the chocolate chips. So I told my server and she was saying she wasn't the one who made them. I told her I was aware of that and I just wanted her to let the person know. It wasn't like I was expecting a refund, because at that point I already gave her my card and I was ready to leave. But that was another issue, she said there was something wrong with their machine and that her manager was still trying to fix it. I was patient for 20 minutes and then I was getting impatient at 30 minutes, especially after I've been asking to speak to the manager with the server only responding with "he's still trying to fix the machine". The manager finally comes out and lets me know that he actually made the pancakes himself and so there were definitely chips in there. He said he put SEVEN white chocolate chips in each pancake. Seven? Really? But at that point I already forgot about the stupid pancakes and I was just ready to leave but they still had my card. He left again to try to fix the machine. I waited another 15 minutes, with two kids in tow, mind you, and finally told the server that they're just going to have to bill me because how long I've waited is unacceptable. Other customers that were waiting for their cards too got up to leave as well. The jerk of a manager then comes out with a manual credit card machine and processes our bills. He didn't even apologize, he just gave us the receipts to sign. I wish I could rate this place lower than 1 star. read more

My wife and I went to IHOP last night and left feeling nauseated. I ordered one of their new country potato plates and it was awful. The potatoes were literally deep fried and looked like short, brown french fries. I couldn't distinguish the potatoes from the bacon which were also charred brown. The pancakes were also awful. It is really disappointing for me to come to my favorite breakfast spot and be so disgusted. I believe that breakfast is the most simple meal of the day to prepare, maybe not for some. I ordered crispy bacon and despite several attempts by the waiter the cooks still could not comprehend crispy bacon. I'm not sure what type of qualification you have to possess, the cooks at this IHOP DO NOT QUALIFY. I didn't eat half of my food for one reason or another and still paid. Will not be back so sad to see this place go down the tube. read more

We had the worst service ever at this place. We were an interracial couple and we went in and after the waiter took our order, he proceeded to completely ignore us. The bus boy was roaming around halfway wiping off the tabletops, ignoring the nasty syrup containers. Not moving anything at all, just wiping the empty space. The kitchen forgot HALF our order, left the other half, including the FRUIT sitting under the warmer lights, the waiter finally brought it over and slung it on the table without explanation as to where the other half of our food was and left me sitting there with nothing. Meanwhile, the waiter was buzzing around the room like a butterfly waiting on ALL the other tables, walking RIGHT PAST us to get to them, as we were the first table out of the kitchen, lovely as that was. He even brushed my hair several times as he passed by, I mentioned to my companion that if he touched me one more time I was going to get up. The table next to ours got the 20 minutes after we did and ate and paid before I even got my food. When I approached the manager and asked for a word, he continued his personal conversation for 10 more minutes before coming to address me. When he did he was nice, he listened and he agreed that there had been a mistake and he would take HALF our bill off. That was fair even though my friends food was stale when served. We waited so long for him to bring our check that we approached the check out. The waiter ran over and gave my bill to the CHECKER??? He couldn't even give my bill to me or my companion? I said excuse me, may I please see that? She handed it to me and it was for the full amount!!!!! So obviously the manager had not even addressed our server at all!!! He did not follow thru. So I asked to see the manager again. In the meantime some lady behind us begins to berate us for complaining about Keenan, her favorite waiter!!!!! I imagine she would be upset because she got GREAT service! the white couple got great service, and all the black tables got great service, but us being the only interracial couple sat there and waited in an OBVIOUS snub from our BLACK waiter. So after a 10 minute wait while my companion beats back the black lady at the counter who has no business in our business to begin with, the manager comes out , I proceeded to hand him the bill and told him, this is on you. He said ok and turned and walked away. No communication no, is there something I can do, no interest whatsoever in my experience in his restaurant. I called the corp office and I did get a prompt response from a very nice man that was very apologetic and said all the right things. Assured us that it was not racially motivated where my response to him was this....no matter whether it was or not, that is how it made me FEEL. Mr. Gary, had to do nothing but agree with me. I did not take compensation from him. I asked him only for this. that he take the opportunity to coach this entire team in the importance of good customer service. What we experienced was complete failure from the busboy to the kitchen to the wait staff to the management. I would not go to this location ever again. We ordered chicken & waffles, French toast hash brown well done and eggs. The waffles were soggy and the chicken tenders were very small. My hash browns were not crispy and they were soggy too after I asked well done, so the waitress told me they can't do them well done bc they're pre cooked...so she brought another one over cook, and almost burnt and they looked nasty. read more

My car was being serviced across the street so I thought I'd go have breakfast and kill some time at IHOP. Turns out it was not a good idea. This is by far the worst IHOP I have ever been to. The food and service is awful. The people are rude as hell. Tossing your food at you and leaving the table before asking if you need anything else. It was crowded when I arrived so I asked if there was a counter I could sit at. The greeter seemed annoyed and then asked me if I had a name. I should have left then. Never again! read more

IHOP has a special of all you can eat pancakes, which got my growing boys very excited and of which they ordered. However, when they received their order, our server never came back to ask if they want more pancakes. We keep trying to call her attention but she seems to be very busy counting her TIPS. She only came back to us to give us our bill. REALLY???? Please note the first order of unlimited pancake only came with 2 pancakes, so the "unlimited" pancakes may not apply to this location. We never receive any REFILLS of pancakes. They should remove the "all you can eat pancake" poster they have at the door . DO NOT...I repeat....DO NOT ever go to this branch. My fiance and I love the fact that this is so close to where we live, because we're night owls and sometimes, we're craving "brinner" (breakfast for dinner). Of course, we come here during the day too. There are two waiters here that we love (I wish I paid more attention to their names so that I could give them their credit). One middle aged man is great to have, even on a busy Sunday morning, because he's always very enthusiastic and has a great amount of energy, and there's another young gentleman who's personable and has a good sense of humor. During slower times, the staff doesn't come around as much; they check up on you maybe once then bring your your check at the end, but they're not rude like I've experienced at other diners. The place is clean, they serve good food, and the staff is friendly for the most part. It's a pain to come here on Sundays though. Expect a long wait time, especially if you're coming with a larger party. When my family and I come on Sundays (about 8 of us), we're usually waiting for about 30 minutes. You now also have to pay your waiter instead of walking up front to pay, so this can take some time on a busy morning. read more

I absolutely cannot believe what happened to us at your Klose Way location today. When we walked up one of your servers IN HER UNIFORM, was standing outside in front of the door SMOKING A CIGARETTE! We had to walk around her to even get to the door. As, if that isn't bad enough she was there with her child and her father engaging in an argument. Ok forget her poor parenting skills, I had my grandchildren with me! We do not have any cigarette smokers at all around our kids and in California it is against the law to smoke that close to the door in any case! So we come inside and tell our server that we need to speak to the manager. While we waited for him to come to our table the smoking server comes back inside with her child, thats right WITH HER CHILD, AND GOES BACK TO WORK. The server waiting on us went to her and told her we had complained about her and had asked to speak to the manager. While we waited the smoker was slamming things on the counter and talking LOUDLY about people asking t speak to the manager, we were sitting right there and could clearly see her bad attitude. Before the manager came to us she storms over to my table and starts loudly and beligerently apologizing because we complained!!!! She went on to explain that she was having an argument with her father and blah blah blah, then as she turned away the manager was approaching and she says THERE I APOLOGIZED! And the she repeated herself again!!!! I APOLOGIZED ALREADY!!!!! So he comes over and I explained to him that she was out of pocket and I do not expect to walk up to this establishment or any for that matter and have to drag my children thru a cloud of cigarette smoke to get into the building! I also told him that I wanted the corporate office number and her first name so that I could complain. He refused to give it to me. He told me he was going to take care of us. Then he went on to tell us how good help is hard to find and if he fires her then he has to hire and train another one. Okay, I run a business. None of my customers need to be touched by ANY internal issues. That girl should not have been smoking where she was smoking, arguing where she was arguing OR have her daughter there in the restaurant alone while she was on the clock working. ALL of these are no no in the state of Ca. The smoker should NEVER have approached our table with her attitude and the manager did not need to go on and on and on about how if he fires her he has to hire and train another, shrugging his shoulders as he talked. After he left our table we could overhear the smoker say very loudly OH SO YOU GOING TO FIRE ME NOW???? Then we heard him say something about her poor attitude and then she started crying and glaring at us everytime she thought she could catch our eye. Yes the manager picked up our tab, as well he should have. But so many balls were dropped and the management and staff were so poor someone else needs to know. 1. No smoking in front of the door. 2. No arguing with anyone while in your uniform in front of the door. 3. No children allowed at work to roam free thru the restaurant while you are on the clock!!!!!!!! I should call CPS! 4. The server should have gone only to the manager NOT to the smoker to blab. 5. The smoker should NEVER have approached our table with her crappy attitude. 6. The manager should NEVER have stood there explaining to us how hard it is and how if he fires her he has to hire and train another loser. 7. The entire restaurant did not need to hear the conversation between the manager and the smoker. My food was cold by the time it got to the table, no I didn't bother to complain I couldn't trust ANYONE I saw working there. Beyond frustration! Checked in at 854 am on Thursday July 19th. The hostess did not seat me, she told me that I could just sit wherever I wanted...I was fine with that. Then noticed time passing me by, I turned around to notice new customers have been seated, have menus and drinks. My table was still empty. No one engaged me, no one said hello. I'm here to eat! What's wrong with my money? 10 minutes pass by, I called the main number and asked to speak with the MOD (manager on duty). She told me he "was speaking with someone else asked if she can take a message." I made the announcement I was inside the building and requested the mangers service. Due to my shock, the manager was sitting right in front of me in the corner booth talking to coworkers. Once he was informed of the mishap, he tried to apologize. I didn't want to hear it. Train your employees!!! Money just walked out of the door. I refused his offers to make it right because fear of my food having a funny taste or a rude server that may have been yelled at. The waitress girl name KELIN who's working here is very unprofessional towards their customers when they're trying to order their food. I gave this place 2 star because I am a regular I come eat and study but this night was different.we ordered our entries first then the appetizer.but in this case the dinner entries came first.We let it slide because we were already hungry and did not mind the mishalf, but as we were getting ready to eat,she gave us the bill. I mean we just got our food, how are you going to give me my bill before i can eat my food? The soup my mother go was cold and there was left over food on the bowl. I have never done a review but after my experience at this place, I just had to. I've had a few experiences of bad customer service at different IHOP locations in the past, but the experience I had with this IHOP was the last straw for me. My grandma and I came in and we were seated at the back which is right next to the wall dividing the back kitchen area where the waitresses go back and forth to. Our waitress finally took our food/drink order. My grandma ordered coffee and I just got water. We waited very patiently, however, about twenty minutes have passed and we still haven't gotten our drinks. So my grandma decided to ask one of the other waitresses that was helping out in that area where her coffee was. I didn't get her name but she was very rude and gave my grandma ATTITUDE which I didn't appreciate at all. After my grandma asked, the waitress said, "you could've asked me before and I would have gotten it for you.." FIRST OF ALL, that is not something you say to a customer no matter how upset they sound. Since we were seated at the back no one even paid much attention to us or even came by to update on our food/drinks. NOTHING! Second of all, she wasn't even our waitress in the first place. So she walked away and told someone that my grandma was waiting for her coffee. Our original waitress finally came by and asked her what she ordered and my gma said many times that she was waiting for her coffee. She walks away to get it and I hear the rude waitress TALKING SHIT to our original waitress at the back saying that, "she's the one that messed up but don't mention that to her." Like it wasn't the waitresses fault (I assume that she was talking about my grandmother? WHO DOES SHE THINK SHE IS?!) LITTLE DID THEY KNOW that we were sitting right next to that divider and I could hear most of their conversation very clearly. One of the workers wearing the black collared shirt delivered our food kindly AT LEAST. We also had to ask for napkins and utensils. Definitely not coming back here again. read more
