Food here is subpar. Ive had food poisoning from Ikea meatballs before, but it's been a long time since so I've actually gathered enough courage to try again and it was decent. They use to have the ayce Sunday brunch but it's gotten canceled for some reason. Nice people come to assemble the closest at my home from ikea, covina location. But they can't put the handles to the doors. As they said it's not in there contract because of liability issues. My question is how I could be able to open the big doors without the handles. I called Ikea first time 30 minutes hold I disconnect the line,second time they pick up the line after 45 minutes hold. Just sorry from the phone attended. If I know how to assemble the stuff than why should I spent extra money. These people just s..... If there is a handles issue, there are hundreds of people they can aware the customer about this. But no they want to be on there gossip. read more

One of my favorite IKEA's! Not only is it nearby my neck of the woods, it's conveniently across the street from the Eastland shopping center! Another keeper for me is the availability of parking in the parking structure. No matter the weather of rain or shine, you can always count on parking and it's such a relief. The IKEA is located in a pretty safe / nice part of the neighborhood. The parking lot is always clean and brightly lit so it doesn't feel creepy despite the large size of it. The spaces are spacious. There's also charging ports for the hybrid / electric car owners - yay for being eco friendly! You can take 1 of the two elevators or an escalator up to the IKEA. Love the super wide elevators! The entrance of IKEA is always so spacious and clean. There's a food counter to buy quick snacks right at the entrance which is always tempting - Om nom nom :) The "As-is" section is kind of small but conveniently located at the entrance of the first floor so you can peep it quickly and bounce out of there if you'd like. The only thing that's inconvenient is that they have soo many cash register lanes, but only have a few open. Therefore they always have most of the gates blocking all the closed registers so you have to walk all the way towards the middle of an open register line with people already in line to take a short cut into the first floor. It's probably to help lessen the chances of theft, but it's probably my only complaint haha. On to the kitchen for IKEA meals. It's upstairs! Love the glass wall seating, I can always appreciate the view of the Covina hills while eating and/or drinking coffee :) The cafeteria is usually clean and there's free wifi which is thoughtful. There's also a little cozy couch section at the entrance of the cafeteria, keep an eye for that if you want to snag the sweet spot! Love their $1 breakfast which includes scrambled eggs, bacon or sausages, and hash browns... And as always, coffee and tea is free as long you register for an IKEA family card (which is free if you sign up at the kiosk computers). I still haven't quite figured out the layout of the store, because I mainly go to IKEA for the food... Sooo I basically follow the arrows and hope for the best... I was driving by the Covina Ikea and felt hunger pangs and decided to try food at the restaurant. They had various combos for food and drink for $2.00 This was a cost effective meal,at the same time I was able to purchase Ikea chocolates which were on sale for two for a dollar and their delicious cup cakes a full tray for $ 4. They have breakfast special for 99 cents daily. Children eat free on Tuesdays. My $2 lunch had a large slice of hot tasty cheese Pizza and a choice of drink. I loved the experience. I've been waiting for the IKEA restaurant to open for the longest! I finally saw a recent review that said they had opened and the first thing i did was head straight to IKEA. It was super fast and the staff and food was amazing! First, i walk in and there is a stand with paper (a menu so you can put what you want and how much you want). I checked down my order (chicken tenders, 2 chocolate cakes, Swedish meatballs, etc.) and walked towards the food counters. We handed the paper to the server and she gave us our food in these cute containers with packaged condiments (BBQ, Ketchup, etc.) and then put them in a bag. After we walked towards the register and we saw that water bottles were free so I grabbed two. The checkout was super fast and easy and everyone was so kind. Social distancing was implemented greatly and there were plastic protectors in between the costumers and the employees. Food was delicious and had an amazing dinner :) read more

APPLE DONT FALL FAR FROM THE TREE It's cheap and it looks good on their advertisements...but like IKEA furniture it's not good quality. The pictures of the food are deceiving. I scream "false advertisement!" The Cobb Salad on the menu was huge, fresh with tons of chicken and bacon. The real salad was limp, washed out and looked like its sad cracked out cousin :( We ordered the meatballs since everything else looked so unappetizing. They were edible. Mashed potatoes and gravy was edible. And maybe if this was 10 years ago I would've thought it was yummy and cheap but now I know this is microwave food at best. There was an all you can eat breakfast buffet for 9.99$ today. They gave us green wristbands so that they could distinguish between the AYCErs vs. regular diners. There were quite a lot of options for the AYCE, but I chose food that I usually get. The portions were about half the size as the normal ones, because it was all you can eat. I got the meatballs, chicken tenders w/ French fries, a slice of almond cake, strawberries w/ whipped cream and a side of mac & cheese + steamed veggies. I love IKEA items in the showroom. You always find something you can use or need at home. The showroom is always clean.... Now the food area, it's always messing. Hard to find a clean table. IKEA must outsource their food from the same vendor as Costco - hot dogs, pizza, etc. This is not a bad thing when you're hungry from walking through the 100mile trek to get around IKEA! The food in the cafeteria is pleasantly well-priced... I think 1/2 a rack of ribs plus fries is $7.99 and they have a 2 hot dog + chips + drink special for $2. Snacks such as a cinnamon roll or a yogurt cone are $1. The cinnamon rolls are surprisingly delicious, light, and fresh. You can literally see the steam coming off them in the packaging when you walk past them since they are so fresh. A pack of 6 of them is $4.... again, not bad. read more

Big, black coffee (that's also bottomless) for one dollar? Sign me up and sit me down! I could dine here all day. I enjoy the "dorm dining hall" feeling of the area you're supposed to sit down and eat. The staff were super friendly when I went and even offered me to sample things before I bought them. But, I was committed to the veggie ball experience and passed up the nice freebie. The soda flavors on tap are unique too. I will come back one day to try the chocolate conspiracy cake, since it looked so good in the pictures and inside the display case. Came here in the mid afternoon last Saturday, and the restaurant was over crowded. There wasn't enough seating, and when you did find a seat, the tables were really dirty. The drinks area was also dirty, and the coffee machine ran out of milk. No staff there to refill what needed to be refilled, and no one to clean up the areas at all. When we finished, more space opened up, but it was still a mess with no one to clean things up. read more

All the employees in both IKEA and the IKEA restaurant were so friendly and cheerful :) The only thing I have against this particular IKEA, is the fact that customers leave their food trays at their table. When i talked to staff, it had been suggested to management that they put signs on the tables stating to put their tray away. Put your trays away people!!! read more

Additionally, they have a lot of daily deals so look out for that too, we got a plate of pasta for $2. Swedish meatball plate - best swedish meatballs ever! I love eating it with the mashed potatoes and the gravy makes it super yummy and not dry at all! Salmon plate - good sauce, fresh veggies and the veggie patties were also really delicious. Sounds a bit weird at first, but if you like vegetables I think you'll enjoy them, we did! Good and friendly service from the workers! There are a bunch of seats and theres a nice view out the window. You just grab a tray, order, get your food and then seat yourself. Don't forget to put away your own plates though! Theres also another food court (similar to costco's) downstairs where you can get cinnamon rolls, soft serve, and hotdogs all for a super low price! It's an IKEA restaurant. Nobody can hate these places. I'd have my wedding banquet in one. And I don't know if it's a new IKEA thing, but this location also does 99-cent breakfast plates, pancake plates and cinnamon buns. It was new to me. The portions from the lady serving it was on the small size. And by small size I mean perfectly normal healthy size and what the rest of the world probably eats and I'm just spoiled on the disgusting amount we Americans stuff down our gullets. I don't know.. I'm not really a huge fan of the IKEA Restaurant. When I think of IKEA I think of savings, and this restaurant is pretty skimpy on the portions but generous on the price. For $8 I got a cold *cringe* Buffalo Wrap, which looked warm, tasty, delicious and much bigger in the advertisement. It came with the standard unwanted bag of Lays Classic potato chips, and a soda. I'd rather have taken the few extra steps to get the Hot Dog combo near the checkouts instead. Unfortunately we were starving and the smell wafting from the Restaurant called our names. Now I know. My friend also ordered the meatballs, which were alright but I feel like it wasn't really worth the $5-6 dollars she paid for the combo. The restaurant is furnished (as expected of IKEA) very nicely, albeit the originally-white-but-turning-black chairs. The natural light from the huge windows makes this place a really nice place to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee after a long day of shopping. P.S. This Ikea is efficient and plentiful of space! So much better than the Ikea in Burbank. The loading area is bigger, the parking lot is bigger, there are more cashier stations. I came here this past weekend when many college students came with their parents for dorm room furnishings, and I was totally dreading the checkout lines. To my surprise, I only waited in the check out lines for 15 minutes. This is a faster rate than supermarket lines! They also have $1 frozen yogurt and $1 cinnamon buns just after the checkout. So if you're going there with another person, my suggestion is to have someone wait in line at checkout and the other go to the snack line to buy these $1 snacks. read more

When I come to Ikea I make sure I go to the cafeteria for lunch or dinner. I usually get either the SMOKED SALMON, SEARED SALMON, or the SWEDISH BALLS w/ mashed potatoes, gravy, and cranberry sauce. The only reason this place gets a 3 is because they lack in service. I've been in twice. Once on a weekend afternoon and once right before closing time. On the weekend afternoon they had only one person serving an enormous line of people. Right before closing, they had basically nobody. I was surprised.
