3.5 stars. All orders are freshly made so be prepared to wait. I ordered the regular ilocano empanada, cheese empanada, large and meaty and an order of the vinegar. Cheese empanada: I did not like the cheese empanada. Kind of strange since I love cheese. I guess I just didn't think it went well together. Regular empanada: Like all of the empanadas, it was big. The shell was good and crispy. The egg part was good but the mung beans threw me off. I've had ilocano empanadas and the mung beans in this one seemed undercooked and was too hard for me. Large and meaty: I liked this one the most. Maybe because there was less mung beans or maybe because it was a couple of days old and I had to air fry it making the mung beans softer. Vinegar: it wasn't really spicy and taste was typical. All in all, it was okay and if I were to return, I would get the large and meaty.

Saw this truck going viral and wanted to see if the hype is real. The empanada is huge, it's a bit pricy. However, you get what you pay for and you won't leave hungry. It is stuffed with meat, cheese, eggs, spices, and onion. The vinegar cuts through the salt and is a good complement to the dish. The melon juice was meh, I would stick to the empanadas here. Order in advance if possible, they do take some time to make. Hype is real, give it a try.

We finally found this Ilocos Empanada Truck!!! Their Ilocos Empanada is really good--- crunchy and can't imagine using a different vinegar for this! Their special vinegar is really good and completes the deal. It wouldn't be the same without it. There is just a bit of a wait, because it is freshly cooked. Good thing there is a strip mall where the truck is parked so you can roam around while waiting for your order to be picked up. We will definitely come back!!!

Ended up visiting this spot after having Ilocos Empanada reels take over my Social Media. I was surprised to see that I actually had one so close to me so I asked my brother to accompany me to try it. We got there around 5 or 6, I can't remember what time exactly, but it was within the hour of them just opening up. (I'd like to note that this was planned because I had read they the tend to sell out). They're parked on the corner of Eagle Rock Blvd and W Ave 40, where the Emergency Vet spot is. Pulling up I wasn't sure if it was the actual truck, but for those who do come looking for it, it had a dragon along its side, so that's the giveaway. It was drizzling when we got there so we made our way to order as soon as we could, but it seems we got there a little too early as they were still prepping. We ordered and they let us know that they were still taking care of preparations so they asked for our phone number so they'll let us know when our order was ready. We figured it would take 20-30 minutes, so we went to the pet shop down the ways and picked up some stuff for our dog. We finished up there and we had yet to receive a call that our order was ready, so we just sat in the car to wait. Unfortunately, we ended up waiting about an hour. We really wished we knew this as we literally could have just went back to home, but you live and you learn. After watching a show while waiting, we got the call that our order was up; 4 orders of the large and meaty. We got our order and headed home to eat it. I would like to note that there is a small area that you can sit and eat it there if you'd like, but because it was drizzling and cold, we didn't think it was a good idea to just huddle up under the pop-up canopy to eat on the table and chairs. We wanted to eat and enjoy it comfortably, so we went home. So now, the food! The paper bags were drenched in not rain, but i'm guessing oil? Grease? But that did NOT put us off. The large and meaty are indeed large. They're bigger than my hand. They came with a small container of the spiced vinegar, which was great, but we also make our own, so we used ours, too. Despite the paper bags being soaked, the actual empanada still held its crunch, and boy oh boy did I enjoy it. The crunch was good, and the filling was good, but it got delicious once I got to the yolk park of the egg inside. YES, an egg! (there's a cross section of it in a picture I posted). I don't think I would have quite enjoyed it as much if it wasn't for the vinegar, but overall it was a pretty good meal. I'd rate the whole experience a 3/5, just because of the crazy long wait time, but a 4/5 for the actual empanada. I'd definitely recommend that people try it. It's different, but yummy! Cheers & Happy Eats! XOXO

good empanada! overall it was good, the suka/vinegar was amazing! we ordered 2 and got 3 mini cup which was enough. Waited about 30-40 mins, which we didn't mind. table, chairs, & parking available only reason I'm giving it 4 is because i wish I could taste the vigan Longganisa more. would def come back!

    3 Regular, 2 w/ Cheese

I came by on Good Friday but they were closed so I came back the next day! First time trying Ilocos Empanadas. We ordered 3 Regular, 2 w/ Cheese, 2 Melon Juices, 2 Special Vinegar (not necessary, they provide you with little containers). It is different from the typical sweet longganisa, the filling was ground pork, egg with mung beans. The wrap was delicious, had a great crunch, and so fresh it was steaming hot. Vinegar tastes like apple cider vinegar with some seasonings. I wish they gave the melon juices for free because we waited so long for the food lol! I understand it's time consuming to make Ilocos Empanadas, but did not expect to wait 1.5 hours for five empanadas. I believe they are a team of 2 doing all the work, which I'm sure is also a challenge. However, it would be a great idea to let people know as soon as they order that there will be a significantly long wait and to write down a phone number to call when ready. When we ordered, we were not told when our order would be ready, and there was only 1 family before us so it did not look like there would be a long wait. We sat on their outdoor chairs in the shade until we finally asked. But no worries, we ended up running some errands and came back later! A sign in front of the truck would be helpful and I recommend calling and placing an order in advance.

Papaya, egg, munggo and ground beef. So good!

Finally got the chance to try the Ilocos empanada and let me tell you it was delicious! Went there around 5pm, no line(great!) I ordered 30pcs(regular) so waiting for me was no big deal coz it's made to order. Air fried it the next day and still crispy. Loved the special vinegar($4) although they give some on the side with your order. Will definitely be going again to try their other variations of empanada.

What makes this one stand out is they really do use Vigan/Ilocos longganisa and their vinegar was perfectly balanced.

Let's start with the Cajun shrimp: perfectly cooked, tender, and absolutely drenched in a sauce so flavorful it should come with a warning label. Not salty, not greasy -- just balanced, bold, and outrageously addictive. You taste it once and immediately know someone in that kitchen actually gives a damn. And the crab legs... my god. HUGE, sweet, and steamed to perfection. You crack into them and it's like opening a treasure chest -- except instead of gold, it's pure, buttery, Cajun-kissed heaven. Now the sausage -- whoever seasons that deserves a raise. It doesn't just sit in the bag like an afterthought. It has its own flavor, completely over the top in the best possible way. Smoky, spicy, rich... it punches through the boil like it's auditioning for its own dish. But the real sleeper hit? THE GREEN SAUCE. Off. The. Chain. A straight-up flavor knockout -- bright, herby, tangy, and absolutely lethal in the way good sauces should be. It elevates everything you dip it in. I could drink it. I won't -- but I could. The whole experience? Different -- but in that rare, memorable, "I need to come back tomorrow" kind of way. Cajun Craving is easily one of the best seafood boils in LA. No nonsense, no shortcuts, just pure, serious, crafted flavor. Five stars. Easy. Gordon Ramsay approved.

I like the atmosphere, good parking, the staff seemed friendly, the prices were fairly reasonable in this economy and the food we had was good. We were both very disappointed that their website clearly shows that they serve alcohol and we were told when we got there that they don't serve alcohol. Also, anyone who knows me knows I love fried calamari which their online menu clearly shows but in real life they don't serve that either. My friend asked our server why these were on the website but not really on their menu. I opened the website on my phone and showed her what we were talking about. The server said they used to have those things but has no idea why the website was never updated. That is false advertisement. We contemplated leaving and going someplace else, but decided to stay and have dinner. I highly suggest if you're going to have a website, then it needs to be current and accurate at all times or don't have a website at all. I'm not going to speak for my friend, but I probably won't be back.
