We had delivery (two pies) from Imo's while in town on a visit. They delivered to our hotel without issue and the pizzas were still hot! Their thin crust is REALLY thin crust but I found it to be very tasty! We went with basic pies (pepperoni and sausage) and they executed well: always good to know a pizza place's foundation is there. Imo's Pizza is the St Louis style pizza! What makes it different is the thin crust, the square cut, and the Provel cheese. You either like it or you don't. I'm a fan of a thin crust and this pizza was sooo good! I had it delivered to my hotel and the delivery fees were super reasonable. Usually when pizza is delivered I expect the quality to be not as good since it gets covered by the top pretty immediately. But despite this I still really enjoyed the pizza. I got a two topping mushroom and bell pepper medium pizza with a glaze on top. On the side I got the toasted ravioli and the cheese bread. The cheese bread was sooo good, even better when dipped into the sauce that comes with the toasted ravioli. I'll definitely be getting Imo's Pizza next time I'm in town. read more

Super solid place for pizza! Yes, the ambiance isn't amazing, but this is a place you come for food, not the ambiance. People working here were friendly and helpful. The pizza was tasty and unique. I love the cracker-like crust. It just brings such a good texture to the pizza and works really well with the toppings. The toasted raviolis were great as well! Stopped by IMO's on a recent road trip passing through St Louis. We got a medium pepperoni pizza, garlic bread, baked spaghetti, a chef salad, and two drinks for about $45 which is fair. The good: the pizza was amazing. The cheese is just delicious and gooey and crispy and thin. The garlic cheese bread was garlicky and creamy and crispy. The provel on the baked spaghetti was perfectly melted. The bad: the chef salad was devoid of any tomotoes which seems odd for a salad. It was loaded with meat though. Our order of garlic bread came out as cheese garlic bread. Which tasted great and they did remake the order. Everything came out individually which was a bit odd, but no big deal. The guy at the counter gave us "still hungover from last night" vibes, so it wasn't a great experience, but nothing super bad. Overall, it's totally worth it. read more

After being recommend Imo's countless times, I was so excited to try it! We decided to come by for lunch on a Thursday and it wasn't crazy busy. They have a pretty large variety to pick from. If you're looking for a quick and easy selection, they also have lunch specials. For the three of us, we decided to try a large pizza with half bacon and half pepperoni, a house salad, and the famous toasted ravioli. Everything came out super quickly too. To start, the toasted ravioli was delicious! I was expecting fried cheese raviolis, but the meat on the inside made all of the difference! 5/5 for flavor & taste! Would come back to eat this! Next was the house salad, I don't know what I expected but I wasn't expecting just lettuce and provel cheese. Although that was the description, haha. This was okay for what it was. I just wish for a house salad it had something a little extra.. maybe a crunch of some kind. And lastly, the pizza. It might just be that I'm spoiled with Chicago deep dish but the pizza was not my favorite. I love me some thin crust pizza, but the crust tasted like a thin cracker, and the provel cheese tasted like warm cheddar cheese. So sorry for all the STL locals, it's not Imos, it's me. I love love my mozzarella cheese and my buttery crusts that I would find in Chicago. All in all, we had a great experience as the staff was super friendly. The restaurant was bright and easy to find, and there was plenty of seating including tables with chairs and booths. If you love pizza, you must try Imo's pizza if you are in St. Louis. I had great reservations about ordering pizza from a "chain". Their pizza doesn't taste like it came from a chain, like Domino's, Papa John's, little Caesars, etc. I was also afraid that I wasn't getting as great of a value for the money but I was pleasantly surprised. When I ordered my pizza, they had a special for a medium pizza. I got a medium two topping pizza and a side of toasted ravioli. They use Provel Cheese, a white processed cheese made from cheddar Cheese, Swiss Cheese and provolone. I don't know how to describe the taste of the cheese other than I've never tasted the flavor before and it was delicious. I can see how some people might not like it, but I really enjoyed it and wished that I could have gotten another pizza before leaving town just to enjoy the flavors of the cheese again. They were very generous with the amount of cheese and toppings they put on the pizza, which was surprising and made me really happy. Definitely need to try pizza from here. read more

Definitely a more it's not you, it's me situation. I think you have to grow up in STL to love this pizza. It basically tasted like American cheese on a very thin crust to me. However, the employees were friendly, the space was clean, and the food came out hot, and as ordered. The star of the show for me were the toasted ravs. Those were pretty solid with the marinara dipping sauce. The pizza however, is just 100% not for me. I'm glad I tried it after hearing so much about it, but I can't say I'll be back. An acquired or should I say nostalgic taste for some, for sure! read more

Am I glad I tried it? Sure. I just don't get it. St. Louis-style pizza. From what I gathered, the three main characteristics are: a cracker thin crust made without yeast, Provel processed cheese and cut into small squares. Imo's was established in the 1960's and was synonymous with popularizing this style of pizza. Now they've expanded to over 100 stores throughout the Midwest. I love me a family owned success story more than the next guy, but this pizza was not for me. And don't @ me with the "hey just because it isn't a NY slice doesn't mean it can't be good." I actually agree that "food that tastes good" trumps authenticity any day of the week. I came here on a Saturday night and placed an order of toasted raviolis (T-Ravs as the locals put it) and their version of a supreme pizza. I can see why the toasted ravs are popular in St. Louis. Fried dough stuffed with meat and dipped in pizza sauce--what's not to like? Onto the pizza. Someone described St. Louis pizza as "cheese and crackers with a boatload of toppings." This is accurate. The combination of the super thin crust and the Provel cheese just isn't for me. I love processed American cheese on a burger, but this cheese is aggressively overwhelming. I ate a few squares thinking it might get better as I acquired the taste. I hate to say it didn't. Plus the toppings were all over the place. The bacon was undercooked and same goes for the veggies. It's not you, Imo's, it's me. Or maybe it is you and I'm just trying to be polite? Let's hold off on an ongoing relationship for now. Though I wish you all the best. read more

Was visiting Missouri for the say and stumbled across this pizza joint on yelp. The pizza was PHENOMENAL i made a custom pizza with chicken mushroom and onions and oh my gawd it was so yummy! Then there were these fried raviolis with meat sauce *chefs kiss* they were super yummy. And as for the fried cheese yeah i need a box of those alone with a bowl of meat sauce! The cinnamon bread was the too shabby it reminded me of sweet breads but i enjoyed the sweetness. This pizza really made my day go from a 5 to a 9 easily. The place is a little oddly situated because you can't see the IMO's sign from the back where you'd be most likely to park. Also at the moment the door window is boarded over, making it appear possibly closed, but the open sign is on and it is indeed open. I'm in St. Louis from AZ for my wife's NCTM math conference. As I'm stuck in a hotel while she's in the conference I decided to try a local pizza joint. There were several Imo's around my hotel and I chose this one so I can get out for a bit. On the drive back to the hotel, the anticipation was killing me as I was so excited to try pizza from somewhere other than a chain restaurant that I'm used to. Sadly, I am very disappointed in my purchase. The review has nothing to do with the store, location, or the personnel, rather the quality and price of the pizza alone. The best way to describe this pizza would be "cafeteria" type pizza. Like elementary school style cafeteria. I'm shocked at the price point for what I got. It cost me over $14 for a medium 12" pepperoni pizza. To be honest, I would rather have Little Caesars and save some cash. And no, that does not mean I would recommend Little Caesars, lol. Nasty! Nasty!..Pizza. We were here on vacation for Six Flags. The first day here we decided to do the City Museum and let me tell you, that was a blast. I decided we would grab a quick pizza before going to the hotel. The best choice on the way seemed to be Imo's and my wife's friend had told her, ........"She Must Try Imo's" ....... When we pulled up it was empty. This should have been the first sign! I tried to get my wife to take this as a sign and move on. It didn't happen! I walked in and looked at this empty place. There was a counter that you ordered from then a process line after you order with Paper Plates, Salt and Pepper Packs, Napkins and plastic eating utensils. I should have walked out then but we decided to give it the benefit of doubt. We placed our Order and with two kids it came to a little over $40. We prepared our drinks and gathered all the things we needed then took a seat. The tables didn't even have Salt & Pepper Shakers. (Just Packs) I received my Salad In a big bowel with 1 Small Ranch Dressing and 1 Pack of Crackers. I went up to the counter and asked for 1 more Ranch Dressing and she said "Sure that will be 33 cents. I said " you have to be kidding?" Her answer was "I just Work Here!" I will not pay for extra condiments. I figure if you can't supply the needed condiments. Then you are doing something wrong. I would normally take the food back and ask for a refund if they can't supply condiments (This Usually Gets Their Attention) I didn't do this today, but I should have. I was just too tired to deal with it I guess. So the Pizza comes out for the kids. It was 3 square pieces of thin cardboard with an oily substance and cheese. The kids normally won't turn down any type of pizza. Then our arrived..... At first sight It actually didn't look bad. This was proven wrong as soon as I grabbed a slice and everything slid off. I was left with what looked like a cracker and some oily liquid. I went ahead and got 3 or 4 pieces on my plate and started eating. The kids at this point had frowns on their little face. I told them don't eat it if they didn't want it. The did not even eat. This is weird for my two! I turned back to mine and started eating. This was where I had to stop!....... The pizza (If that's What You Want To Call It) was awful and had a horrible after taste. I am not a picky eater and always have an open mind. I looked at my wife and kids all sitting their hungry. I said well guys lets mark this one as a learning experience and get the heck out of here. We left $40+ worth of food on the table and went back to the hotel for happy hour with snacks. The food at the hotel was 10 times better than Imo's! To sum it up I would give them a (F) in food. The service was bad (Smart Mouth) for a D+ and the cleanliness was about the same. This in my book earns them a solid (F) overall. The food was just bad and anyone that charges for extra condiments has a problem! I don't give many negative reviews and I'm pretty easy to please. If you didn't already know, St. Louis is known for provel cheese and most commonly smothered on pizza. What makes St. Louis style pizza unique is their provel cheese, processed blend of cheddar, Swiss and provolone cheese. It was my first time trying provel cheese, first time trying St. Louis style pizza, and first time at Imo's. The pizza itself would be described as "cracker" thin but really it's not. It's just super thin crust. The provel cheese was overwhelming salty and does have a creamy texture that I thought was odd. Like creamy, salty bread with pizza toppings. Sizes range from 8" to 16". *get the 8"* It's definitely a must try when you're in St. Louis but I prefer traditional pizza with mozzarella. read more

Being from Arizona, we heard about this St. Louis Style pizza! They say Imo's has one of the originals. So we decided to go here. We walked in and it's a pretty small but chill building. We got toasted raviolis and a 14 inch sausage and pepperoni pizza. We had ask the cashier guy what's the local toppings are and he was pretty chill about it and gave us that recommendation. We sat down, and waited for our food. looked on the reviews and they seem to be negative which had me a bit concerned and worried. Soon after, our toasted raviolis came in. It was really good! It tasted like what I expected to be but it was really good! After we got done eating it, our pizza came in. The pizza came in super hot, and my first bite, it was very interesting. My mouth was hot so I let it cool down. But after that, I went in for my second bite and the pizza has this very good flavor! The first thing I notice is the cheese! They use a blend of cheeses which tasted very good. So I kept eating and eating and eating, until I finished it. Left it off with a really good note.
