Overpriced burnt coffee. Wanted to try this place for a while but disappointed that the coffee tasted so burnt.

Cute cafe near the train station. Didn't try their drinks, but they all looked pretty. I had a croissant sandwich, and it was pretty decent. All in all, a-okay. Beware if you have any food allergies though. They had seasonal items that were incorrectly marked as vegan, but contained dairy products like chocolate and yogurt. read more

First time at this Invita. I really like the one in RSF but this one disappointed. Very cute, nice breezy seating inside and outside and lively atmosphere with lots of people having their orders at the table outside adjacent to the modern apartment complex in front of the parking lot dedicated to the train station. Now, price for an avocado toast with is just bread and avocado $10 is a total ripoff so I opted for the salmon lax but the bread was paper thin and overall extremely salty (although generous in salmon and capers). The cappuccino was really bad like if the milk was in the verge of getting bad and the coffee burnt. To top it off, the fake tree fell 3 times and could have put people in danger as it is a big fake olive tree. I told one of the girls that I was going to change table because I didn't want to plant to fall on my head. I would not put that piece of decor in that corner as the base of the plant is more light than the plant/tree itself. Still the best coffee in Carlsbad. Wife picked me up from the train station and this time our son was with us. He naturally went for the hot chocolate and the egg croissant. He loved them both. Said tie hot chocolate was the best he has ever had. Went with our usual cappuccino and Lox sandwich and enjoyed them both. I think all these people that are complaining about burnt coffee drink to much Starbucks and have another agenda on their minds and are trying to ruin this business Staff as usual were polite, efficient and fast. They have a strong lattes! I never realized it until ordering a large an a barista mentioned it, but it was 2 shots in the smaller size and 4 in the larger size. I really like the Nutella latte, their dirty chai is also excellent. It's a great spot if you are planning to travel on the coaster because it's right across the parking lot. It's is a nice place to work or hang out because the store is more of an open concept with and open side. It's accessible while being tucked enough out of the way to not be loud wit traffic. I really enjoy it and hope to try more drinks. read more

Ordered an iced vanilla latte and it was delicious to the very end. Invita was the first stop on a morning full of errands. When I got home around noon, there was about 1/4 left in the cup, all the ice melted.. The latte still tasted just like the first sip. I live in Shadowridge and this shop is out of the way. So, I try to add it to my route whenever I'm in the area. The tiramisu latte is another favorite so I will order that on the next visit. read more

Best matcha latte I've had in town!! While on vacation I've been exploring the local coffee shops and this one has been by far the best matcha I've had!! Perfect balance of milk and matcha, most places are very milky. The service was very friendly and helpful! Overall loved the place!! read more

This coffee is really rich and tasty! Their menu is a bit more limited but everything is done very well. They have a nice patio with outdoor seating, not really any seating inside. This is one of my favorite coffee stops in the poinsettia area. It is always consistent, clean, and they have a solid drink menu! I hopped off the Coaster and enjoyed a fresh baked egg croissant sandwich with added avocado. The taste was fresh and the portion was filling. I most enjoyed the flakiness of the croissant. The only thing that would sent this over the edge would be a handmade dipping sauce, but they do offer hot sauce packets. My experience was wonderful. The staff was friendly, and the outdoor seating was perfect today. There is a good mix of shaded and full sun seating at 11:30am. I had their hot tiramisu latte and was told they make their amaretto cream in house. It was one of the most distinct and delicious tiramisu flavors I have had in a beverage before. I also can't remember the name, but I tried the espresso ice cream/soft serve/gelato and it was very good and silky. A little goes a long way and it was a nice little treat and something I haven't seen in a coffee shop before. If it was a little closer I would definitely be back more often, but will be sure to stop again if I am taking the train through that area. read more

The Lox Toast was more than filling. It was a great size. I am usually not a fan of capers but yet I devoured my toast capers and all with this one. They were very friendly to all the customers that came by. I loved watching some of their interactions with the "regulars". Next time, I will get the chocolate chip bread. I overheard it is popular and amazing. Cute and chill coffee spot amongst the residence and businesses. Loved the area. This place is more like a on-the-go coffee type of cafe. It's a part of a bigger business building or apartment residence. Parking is plenty and not hard to find. I got the iced americano which was not too bad but nothing to write home about. In the time that I spent there I didn't really have much engagement with the cashier or the staff. It was early in the morning maybe that's why. But there were staff taking over one of the main tables inside the shop with their laptop open and just chatting and laughing amongst themselves. Wasn't sure if they were the owners of the shop but I would assume they do their inventories and business org in the back of the shop instead of where everyone can see. But that might be just me-- their open concept and transparency of how their staff works is maybe what draws people to this shop. But it didn't look too professional. read more

Always want coffee and found this spot hidden within other shops and what seemed to be apartments, well it turned out to be great! Little hard to find but once you do it makes sense. The staff was good, helpful and nice. It's tiny little shop with little room so definitely not a sit and enjoy your coffee type spot. The lattes were good but not great, the foam decor/art isn't their thing for sure. While not a must it's always a nice touch. Not sure I would come back for sure but in a crunch I wouldn't stay away. read more

"Super cute." Several family members of the female persuasion have been schooling me on the nuances of this phrase and my educational journey has led me to conclude that it applies to "Invita." Worthy of becoming another arrow in our quiver of unique San Diego coffee destinations, the White Mocha and Chai Tea were both excellent. While ordering I realized that I need to develop a look that conveys the only appropriate answer to the query, "Would you like whipped cream on that?" Either that or perhaps find a t-shirt with the inscription, "Uh, yeah!" Although their storefront isn't expansive, they have managed to deliver on their mission statement (see our pics) and the vibe they have created makes you just want to linger there. This was a good little shop in a mixed use community. Can't beat the view, right by the ocean. The place had an upscale vibe but the staff was pretty young and wasn't too sure how to answer questions. I was asking for some info about the brand of coffee they brew and the staff wasn't sure. They just took orders and put out drinks. It's all good they were pretty young. The coffee itself was actually very good. It was bold and strong and really a nice latte overall. Additionally there's no winning when ordering, if I order a sweetened latte it's overly sweet and if I order a basic latte it's bitter. Tried their iced tea too and it is not drinkable. Invita is the cutest coffee shop that is unique and has local vibes! I think this is a hidden gem, and I'm glad I got to explore and come by here recently. This is located in Carlsbad and is open an airy! There is plenty of parking along with a nice outdoor seating area. The menu looks great with simple and also seasonal drinks. I opted for a Belgian Waffle and an Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte. My only gripe here was a bit of the long wait, which was worth it in the end, but I did notice a lot of other customers that seemed impatient. The workers were doing a great job handling the morning rush. The latte was great- good espresso strength and pumpkin spice flavors. And the Belgian Waffle was delightful!
