Overall, it's a four star experience! I don't think we've ever sat indoors for more than a drink while waiting, but the indoor area is nicely decorated and modern, while the patio is centered around a small elevated stage and beautiful trees covered in twinkle lights. Live music is often playing, there is a trivia night, and there is a night where a running club meets and drinks beer on the sidewalk on the Rome side afterward. It is a fun place that's never too dead or too packed.. just right! I am a fan of a lot of the music we stumble upon there - it's like Irish 31 and Dubliner have the same person scheduling their musical acts. Aside from music, sports is always on the mounted TVs, so no worries, gents. I love coming here to enjoy beer, sitting outside with the dog, and some light fare - the food is good but not my favorite. I like a few of the apps - the mashed potato balls, moxies maybe? are tasty but I can't say much else has left a big impression. Had brunch here last Sunday with visiting family after a long morning of bike riding downtown and along Bayshore. It wasn't very busy, and we were seated inside promptly and our server was extremely friendly and attentive, as was the bartender. There was a bloody mary bar (I did not partake but it looked very interesting) and live music outside, which provided a pleasant background. Our food was served quickly. I had the Pot Pie Bites and the Irish Toast...I LOVED the pot pie bites, but the Irish version of French toast didn't seem very different, and it wasn't all that memorable (very ordinary)...I wouldn't order it again. My kid had the chicken fingers from the *very affordably priced* children's menu, and he liked them a lot. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals, and I would definitely return with my kid for pot pie bites and the wonderfully priced kid's menu. Super cute Irish pub located in Hyde Park. Love the location and there is a free parking garage right across the street! So much better than dealing with parking in SoHo. They have good happy hour specials and drink specials. Tends to draw an older version of the SoHo crowd. Came here once on a Friday night and then again on a Tuesday night for the Hyde Park Dish Crawl. When I came on the Friday night, even though it was after happy hour, they still had certain drinks that were on special (I believe a bottle of Yeungling Light was $3.10, and they had a few liquor specials, as well). On the Tuesday night, I came during happy hour and during happy hour, they have $3.10 domestic drafts, 2-4-1 house wines, $6 Ketel One and some other nice specials. The food that Irish 31 served during the Dish Crawl was phenomenal -- I particularly enjoyed the shrimp and grits, however they also served a boxty (potato fritter) with a delicious creamy sauce and a mini chicken pot pie with a puff pasty, both of which were also fantastic. They had live music out on the patio, as well, this night and I think they frequently have live music at night, as well. Nice spot in Hyde Park to grab a drink. I like how they have a guitar player, and both indoor and outdoor areas. Dislike that they have smoking on the outdoor patio and the fans blow it right inside. Good happy hour prices. The food is decent pub fare, but you'd be better served going to Bar Taco. read more

The atmosphere was pretty young and cozy, there were multiple screens playing sport channels. I opted for something light - the grilled chicken and hummus wrap. It was decent, but not mind-blowing. My husband got the Ruben and he really enjoyed it. They were both served with potato chips. I would probably go back in the evening and try something different on the menu and a draft beer. Great ambiance and service, but I ordered at the start of the 1:00 games, and alas it is now halftime and my food is nowhere to be found. We ordered a couple cocktails and beers, and everything was satisfactory. Enjoyed my free Captain Morgan's Black brought to me by the promo girls. ;) Plenty of room here for a large group. I've been to Irish 31 on a number of occasions now and while it is not one of my favorite Irish Pubs it is a great place to meet friends for a drink. The food I have had there has been very good as well, definitely a solid level above pub food. I did one of their Wednesday "Run Club" 5K nights and while the running course was not that great the food afterwards was superb! Overall I enjoy going there and would certainly recommend it. read more

I am not sure why it took us so long to try this place. We really enjoyed it! They have a great space with mostly outdoor seating. I feel like they may be trying to market themselves as more of a bar then a restaurant, but we were here for dinner and they have a full menu, and the food is really good. We split a bunch of apps, including the Boxty! This was my first experience with Boxty and it is delicious. Highly recommend. We left around9, and it was starting to become more of a bar around that time, with live music and more of a standing room crowd. Irish 31 is a pretty good place to have a pint. The atmosphere and staff are pretty friendly. I did not eat here as I was never offered a food menu (see below) so I can't comment on the state of the food. My only complaint was I happened to arrive right before 5 and that's apparently when a bar shift change is because I was never offered a menu. I wasn't sure what I wanted to drink so when asked I said I wasn't sure and that I'll need a minute. The bartender kind of short with me because I didn't know what I wanted as soon as I sat down. As I was drinking she asked if she could close me out because she was leaving and a new bartender was taking over. I'm sure she could have survived without the 1.50 tip I left and just transferred me over to the new bartender. I don't have a problem with doing this don't get me wrong, it was simply how she worded it. The new bartender seemed more interested in talking to her co-workers than service since I'd already closed out, so no food! Decided to head on over to Maloney's Local Irish Pub for their Sheppard pie since apparently food is not the main attraction here. I'll probably try here again, maybe the staff was having a bad day. Worst margarita flatbread and EVEN WORSE wings I've ever had. I hate giving negative reviews especially when its for a restaurant/bar that is only 1 out of 5 in my neighborhood (hyde park village), BUT they should be ashamed and embarrassed by the quality of food they serve. Perhaps they don't care because it is more of a beer bar than food establishment. I don't know why, but the two separate occasions I have eaten there, the food was disgraceful. It actually made me sick to my stomach. The flatbread was FULL of oil, undercooked, almost like it was just thawed and put in a microwave. I left it on the plate after a few bites. The second time I went I figured I'd try the wings. I mean, who could mess up wings. Maybe flatbread wasn't their specialty. Wow. Worst ever. And I've eaten them everywhere. Soggy, just thawed and way undercooked, sauce undetectable. I tried to eat a few and I don't think I'll be able to eat chicken now for years. Sorry Irish 31, you guys have to know the truth about the food you serve and I hope you change it because I would love to continue coming. read more

Great spot to watch the Lightning games! Didn't order any food, but the smell of truffle mac and cheese filled the air; I didn't complain! My friend and I came to the following conclusion after eating here tonight. 1. The food is roughly 30% overpriced, and we both live in SOHO and know what overpriced looks like. I guess they have to pay for the non-Irish decor somehow. 2 This restaurant falls into the gray-area of restaurants. It's not a true Irish bar, where you get drink specials all night long, nor is it a high quality food restaurant. 3. There's roughly 2x the amount of needed staff of hand, and service was still mediocre. 4. It's located in the Hyde Park district, directly across from Timpanos, which I'd gladly pay an extra 30% to get real food and also close to the Wine Exchange. This place confuses me, remove the newness of Irish 31 and it's year long buildup of anticipation and you're left with a restaurant who's food isn't close in quality to its competitors and who's drinks aren't as cheap. read more

Located off the corner of Hyde Park, Irish 31 is surely a happening hotspot for locals and happy hour patrons. It was extremely humid out so decided to sit inside. The seating arrangements are a mixture of high tops and booths. The inside is rather small so if you gave a big group, I would sit outside. I ordered the HOT buffalo wings for appetizer and Bleu Cheese Burger for main course. Wings were on point. Very juicy and lots of flavor. The burger came with 2 big onion rings on top. Burger was loaded with the Bleu Cheese... So if you're not a fan, I wouldn't recommend ordering it. Overall, the food was good, environment was cheerful. Irish 31 is a great place for happy hour or drinks after work. They have a great outside patio and usually have some decent live music. The service is usually pretty good, and the atmosphere is fun. I've had the chips and cheese appetizer before, and a pretty good salad, but otherwise, I haven't eaten there much. The best part is that it is far enough away from SOHO that you don't get as much of the colleg age kids. It's a lot more of the young professionals than a crazy party spot. There are a ton of tvs too, so catching the game is always easy. They have a run club on Wednesday nights that has really grown a lot. It's a pretty fun place to go, whether you can run 1 mile or 5 miles. read more

Grabbed 3 seats at the outside part of the bar for Sunday brunch. Both the patio and inside areas were about half full but service was still prompt. Musician was playing guitar outside and sounded pretty good. Some good standard "pub" beers on draft here... Stella, Guinness, Smithwick's, Harp. They have their own beer called Irish 31 (go figure) and it's not too bad. It's similar to a red ale. Our meal consisted of fish & chips, bangers & boxty, and an Irish 31 burger. Everything came out exactly as requested and piping hot. Fish & chips were good. Standard really, but that's nothing to complain about. The boxty was the winner for the day, a deep fried ball of mashed potatoes. It went very well with the sauteed mushrooms on the plate and the bangers. The burger (with bacon) was great as well. Upgraded to fries instead of chips and they were just right. Service was very courteous and prompt. Near empty drinks were filled quickly and they kept taking care of us even as we sat around to catch up over a few extra pints afterwards. When the weather is nice, this is definitely the place to be. Glad to see a new restaurant that appears to be doing well in the area. read more

I'm the actually the health inspector I'm this region and I'm blown away at the quality of not only the service but cleanliness of the entire establishment. 10 out of 10.
