I moved to Tampa almost a year ago for work and immediately fell in love with Irish31. It is a great neighborhood Irish bar with a very friendly and knowledgeable staff as well as great bar food. I would consider myself a semi-regular customer now. The potato skins are awesome, give them a try you won't be disappointed, I order mine well done. But you can't go wrong ordering the Shepherd's Pie, Pot Pie, BBQ Chicken Quesadilla, or any of their salads, they are all made fresh. And if you can, save room for the Bread Pudding. Behind the bar is Molly with a quick smile and a great laugh, not to mention great service. If you ask she will switch the flat-screen for you so you watch your favorite team.... even if it's the Red Sox. read more

Nice-looking place. Food and beverages are pretty good, and it's incredibly dog friendly. This place would be very good and maybe one of my favorites if they could speed it up a little. It took over an hour to get our food with no one updating us. We finally went to ask, and they responded with "the kitchen is slammed." Meanwhile, everyone around us was getting their food. This place could be great but the service was soooo slow. However, the manager on duty came out and comped our entire meal. This experience ironically became the epitome of service recovery, and I have yet to experience this exemplary gesture in any neighboring restaurant in South Tampa when service was bad. Even a couple at the table next to us, who sensed our frustration, told us that this bad experience we had was not the norm. What a turn around for this experience...they saved the experience for us, and we will definitely be back. read more

I've eaten at Irish 31 several times in house and also take out always get great service when I'm in the restaurant but when I get take out and involves gravy you get a Dixie cup probably 1/5 of what you would get when you're in the restaurant have pointed this out 3 times and it has not made a difference each take out order. We ordered delivery. They (whoever) called and said what we ordered is no longer on the menu. We ordered something else from the menu. When we received our order, what we had ordered, was refunded. Period. We ordered TWO entree's and this restaurant sent ONE and they were PROUD of the job they did! Does this restaurant serve food? This customer would like to order dinner. If you're not serving dinner, just say so and I'll order from Maloney's or some other Irish restaurant that chooses to give their customers what they order. I've eaten A LOT of box in my day but the Loaded Boxty here is amazing. Very fresh load and trim is cut to perfection. Whoever made this should be working at fedex cause they know how to handle box. Irish 31 is a great place with great events. Moreover the ladies at the Bar are super nice and personable which make your time enjoyable. However, there was a young waitress who became angry at me because I grabbed a drink at the bar and not order it at the table. She doesn't understand how service works and that am buying drinks from her restaurant and by her acting that way, it will now prevent me from doing so. I know she's young but when she approaches customers who just want a beer, you turn them off and then tell friends and write reviews. Again, bar is a great place to come, just complaining about poor/hostile service by one young and inexperienced waitress. read more

I was promoted last week at work and decided to have a small party that suddenly grew to about 40 friends. With just a few hours notice, Jon (the Assistant manager), made sure everything was taken care of- from food (recommend their awesome wings!), to reserving/arranging a section outside on the patio, to wait staff assigned to my party. Took us forever to get served. I'm not impressed with Hyde Park businesses at all so far. The hostesses are ruder and the bartenders are even worse! It's like they desperately try to not acknowledge your existence in the hopes you'll leave. I was very uncomfortable here. The drinks were decent, and so are their potato skins. Our food was great, drinks were good too but the service was disappointing! First of all, when I ordered a mule, I was asked which vodka and told both were on special for $6 but when I got my bill, I was charged the regular price of $8.50 each. When I brought it up I was told that is the up charge for the ginger beer that we use in the mule, So six dollars was not the correct price and it did not matter what I tell you that it was still $8.50. There was a shift change from the time that we arrive and we paid out our first bill yet our waitress charged us for more beers than my husband ordered during her shift. I've always been a fan of this place. I like the atmosphere and outdoor patio. They have some good Irish food as well. Their blue cheese chips are amazing. The drinks are average price but they do often have specials. This place can get packed the bathrooms are small when it is busy. It is also a smaller bar area so when it is crowded, there is not much room to move. The service is sometimes slow but it is always correct. They often have bands playing as well. They have a huge St. Patty's Day block party every year as well. Definitely a place I would recommend. read more

One person in our party waited this long and they messed up her order and brought out this salad with no chicken and tomatoes when she clearly stated she didn't want any tomatoes (chicken was supposed to be there too). Server lady came back out with chicken on the salad the second time but still tomatoes. Girl, is you crazy? Irish 31 is where I go when I want to feel like I'm hanging out with friends--friends who serve me great drinks and feed me good food. I love the burgers and probably have one once a week or so. The happy hour offers decent wine (red and white) at two for one--which is a lot of wine lol. The house brew is a red ale that is very tasty and always $3 a pint. They also offer real entrees---chicken and salmon and decent steaks. All comfort food, prepared with fresh ingredients, and served by really warm, fun people. Shout out to y'all! Irish 31 is your typical bar- TVs everywhere, loud people, wings, & really good fries. As a vegetarian, my options are somewhat limited. I was pleasantly surprised by my salmon orchard salad. The salmon was cooked perfectly, but there wasn't much of it. For a $15 salad, you want to get your money's worth. I will say that it was a really bomb ass salad tho. Blue cheese, candied pecans, oranges, & the dressing really took this salad over the edge. If I ever come back here, it's for this salad. My friends ordered their 31 wings deal & seemed satisfied with their decision. The garlic wings were bland in their opinion, so order some extra dip. There wasn't much table room, so it felt like my friends and I were playing footsies the entire evening. I'd come back to watch a game here for sure. read more

I moved to Tampa four years ago and frequent this place at least once a week. The service has always been great, the wings are excellent and I was informed to order a shrimp po boy in a wrap and it is the best way to have it! The wait staff is nice and friendly and be sure to ask for Hayley next time you are there.
