    Tomato Basil Spaghettini
    Melissa B.

The service was very friendly, location is great--but the food was extremely disappointing. I hate leaving a negative review and rarely do but I wish I had known what the food would have been like before we went. I got the tomato and basil spaghettini with chicken added. It completely lacked any flavor. I needed to add salt which is rare to do at a restaurant as things usually come over salted. The chicken was poorly seasoned and weirdly cut, the skin of the chicken was served face side down, and extremely soggy with strange cuts in it (I'm assuming the cuts in the chicken were to make it cook faster). Everything felt very plain and basic. My mom got the spinach chicken and it was the same type of chicken I got, but with melted cheese on it over a bed of raw spinach that had zero flavor as well. There was not a single hint of garlic in anything. The sliced bread that came with each plate was basically like sandwich bread and not even toasted or warm. I really wanted to love this place but I'm honestly a little surprised at the other positive reviews--maybe we came on an off day? But one look at the photos of the food would have told me all I needed to know.

This place was really good loved the vibe. The pizza was soo good love pizza would totally recommend. Will for sure be going back. The service was perfect great attention. We had a party of 13 and everything came out great!!

    Mushroom ravioli

Disappointing portions. To-go order messed up. Paid for add-on meatball but not received.

    Shrimp salad

Riley and Alfonso. YOU BOTH DID AN AMAZING JOB. Both of the 2 young people were short staffed but they were handling the customers with a smile. I would love to come back and eat here again. Food was amazing. The view is beautiful. We had more food than this but I didn't want to be rude and be all over the table.

    Fiero Spritz

Such a great vibe and the food was delicious! Lobster ravioli and tortellini were sooo good! The fiero spritz was the perfect daytime refreshing cocktail. A must visit!

Service was slow, pizza tasted good. Found a hair in my fettuccine Alfredo, there was no compensation for the mishap either.

It's an order at the counter with a small seating area inside and a nice patio outdoors. Purchase & provided a number. Not only do that have their famous lobster rolls, but they also have additional signature sandwiches, specialty soups, salads and home made cole slaw as just one of their side options. Most people here order the classic lobster roll as did I. That said, you can also customize your roll, plus they offer shrimp and crab choices too! Not to long of a wait, but keep in mind ALL orders are made "fresh to order", so if they're busy it can take a little longer. Presentation was nice and sandwiches are served with a slice of fresh lemon that brightens the taste. The highlight was the decadent butter fried roll. It was warm, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. You can taste the butter in each bite. They provide fresh cold water that you can serve yourself which was welcome with the warm weather. Additionally, they have soda and lemonade. It could be considered a bit pricey, but everything I was eating on my San Diego trip near the beach is. Service was friendly and they brought my meal to my table which was nice. Would definitely go again. Note-There are two other locations in the San Diego area. The oysters were just amazing! I love how they were each unique in taste and so fresh. Wishes I had ordered more. The clam chowder was good, though I'm unsure how it goes well with biscuit when biscuit doesn't do well in soaking up the chowder like a bread would. So, this was alright to me. The charcoal roasted mussels were tasty! Not only were the mussels cooked well, but the sauce that went with it was delicious. Ate every single drop of the sauce! It was hearty, lightly tangy and acidic, yet had that slightly creamy flavor to it. Hiramasa collar was superb. Tender, flavorful and when eating it fresh out of the kitchen, that warmth makes it totally umami. There was plenty of fish meat on it and yes, requires some work compared to a fillet, but the flavor from the collar is not something you can get from a fillet. Worth the extra effort to eat it! It was a little soupy) and the shrimp with milk toast (good flavors). Worth stopping here if you are near by.

Before I get started on the hundreds of amazing things to say about this place, let's start off with one "annoying" thing. It was hard to find. There were absolutely no signs in the hotel pointing you to where the restaurants would be. We also asked several hotel staff members and got even more confused. Once we found the little strip of several restaurants, we accidentally walked right past it thinking it was apart of the NoBu restaurant. Now that I know where it is, I'll know exactly where to go. Let's talk about all the GOOD! The view was beautiful. There were lots of kids playing on the grass in front of the restaurant but the way they set up the place, it wasn't loud at all and cute to see. The staff members were on top of their game. Nothing went unnoticed! They all worked as a team. The Knowledge about the restaurant, the food, and the drinks was very impressive. Even if you couldn't decide, they would happily guide you to make the right choices. - I want to give a shoutout to Mark our waiter. He was an absolute delight. He was witty, knowledgeable, lead us in the right direction, and spoiled us for our birthday celebration dinner. He made the experience 10x better. About the food...I'm still thinking about the delicious food they served and it's been weeks since I was there. I want to put extra attention on the halibut ceviche, WOW! That needs to be a staple is you visit, it's a must try. Also please don't ever take this off the menu! I would solely travel out here just for the alone and buy 5 at a time (yes it was that good). The sauce they put it in makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Everything here is very unique and worth it. There wasn't one bad food item at all. Plus the drinks, were so smooth. If for whatever reason you wanted to alter your drink (like someone at my party did) they were happy to accommodate and then they also executed perfectly. It is a little bit on the pricier side, but once you experience the service, the extra care, and the delicious food you can confidently say it's worth it. I hope more people experience this place, they deserve more than five stars.

With all the hype on the menu and the creativity in the design, I will say that Breakfast this morning was fair to poor We ordered the melon and Stracciatella... for the amount of money we paid for this dish. You could've at least given us some heirloom melon instead of the basic unripened, honeydew and cantaloupe with a bit of salt, shaved, mint, and strata, right out of the package. Poorly done. Also, your Baklava French toast, This had nothing to do with baklava because you candied a few pistachios and put an anglaise on the bottom of the plate. Then topped it with some strawberry marmalade. Which again has nothing to do with baklava. Perhaps you could've put some kataifi Filo on there and given it the real crunch that it deserved. Again for the price we paid. This was also poorly done. Enjoyed your pitaquillas they were flavorful and unique and creative, but I'll tell you overall this meal did not meet the price whatsoever. Once again we pay for the seat and the view and not the food. While our server was a gentlemen, his knowledge and education of the menu definitely was a good reflection of his seasoned training, but he did not carry throughout the service. He was pretty distant for long periods of time such as almost 15 minutes before we were even greeted and then long periods of time throughout our meal and even looking for him again to get our check once the manager was sent to go retrieve him. With an establishment this large, and such high standards. I expect much more. Hotel Del you got a lot to learn and so does your management in allowing a menu of this caliber to be sold at these prices at such a landmark establishment ***** $49 to have my vehicle parked whaaaat, and the Valet asked me how long I'm gonna be here. Lol you just parked a $111,000 EV Hummer. Leave me alone. It's none of your business. As long as I'm spending $200 to $300 and having some meals, I'll stay here as long as I want. Just park my car ...lol i'm walking on the beach too. You can find me there.!
