Came for dinner and left feeling satisfied. We started with some glasses of Prosecco which took a while to arrive but the waiter apologized and said the bar was backed up. For the entree, I got the Brasserie Chicken, without capers and switched the side of broccoli for extra mashed potatoes. The chicken was good, but could have used a little more of the lemon sauce. The bites with the lemon sauce were delicious though. It comes with small tomato chunks on top which added a little extra juice. The mashed potatoes were creamy and had just the right amount of flavor. The portion was substantial and I took the remainder home in a to go box. The wait staff was very friendly, and although my water glass did sit empty a few times, it was never difficult to flag someone down for a quick refill. There are lots of booths, tables, and also some bar seating. We did make a reservation for this and it was moderately busy on a Saturday night. There's a large parking lot so spots are ample.

The food here was amazing. My steak was a high quality cut that was perfectly cooked. They had a Cajun seafood pasta that everyone at the table shared and enjoyed. My daughter got the Mac and cheese that she got last time and enjoyed it just as much this time. The spinach con queso and chips was so good we ended up ordering a second round! The staff was attentive and friendly and the establishment was clean and well taken care of. My only "complaint" was that the food was so good we forgot to grab pictures until most of the food was already gone! We will definitely be coming back here next month when we are back in the area.

    J. Alexander's has become one of our favorite restaurants in the Dunwoody area. The food and service are both consistently good, and for a reasonable price compared to other similar restaurants. I especially like the ribs, and my wife is a big fan of the trout. The french fries are thin and crispy. The coleslaw is one of the best I've had in a restaurant. Highly recommended.

First...Ana (Server) was great! Food... 1. Sea bass was a little on the dry side. It came with couscous and corn as side dish. The corn was like a Mexican style dish. It did not pair well with the Sea bass! 2. Ribs- they were glazed with a sweet sauce. Very tender, but the sauce was too sweet. Sides: cold slaw and loaded back potato- not bad. 3. Steak and Chips- we asked for Med Well- it came to table Well. Steak Sauce(A1) had a very strong vinegar taste! 4. Chicken Finger Appetizer- no complaints 5. Shrimp Appetizer- no complaints We did not partake in any adult beverages because we had a long drive home.

Honestly, this is never a bad idea for lunch. We stop in here from time to time if we know we're going to Perimeter Mall, which is just across the street. We are always able to be seated immediately which is nice! Normally it's just me and hubby but we had the two tiny ones in tow this day. Their food came out fast and first (a plus!) and they ate it with no trouble. Having them there also means I spent an inordinate amount of time accompanying someone to the bathroom. Luckily the restroom was spacious and clean. Our food was good as usual. The biggest surprise for me was how tasty the cheesesteak was. Visually, it just looks okay (see pic for evidence) but it was flavorful and delicious!! The STAR of the meal isn't even pictured but it was the carrot cake, which was served warm. The cake was so good that my husband said whenever we're at the mall we should just go pick up some carrot cake from J. Alexander. He's not wrong. The cake was extremely moist, the icing was creamy, and it wasn't overly sweet. Hands down, it's the best carrot cake I've ever had. If you've read this far, you should order it!!

I have never been to J. Alexander's before but that place looks amazing inside. Fancy, yet casual. The host/servers were super nice and just real all in all. My mom and I were craving some steaks and thought this would be the best place for that. We ordered the Ribs and steak entrees both were really good.

I landed at J Alexander's on a day I designated for self-care! Yay for prioritizing ME time! I arrived at lunch with no reservation and was offered a table at the bar. The bartender was a little slammed with a weekday lunch crowd, so I prepared myself for a bit of a wait. Nope! Quite unexpectedly, the general manager, Reed, appeared from the kitchen and kindly stopped to take my drink order. I was so appreciative for the team effort! I decided to be good and bad, so I ordered a house salad with a side of French fries! I love J Alexander's fries (slender and crispy!) - they're some of the best around. The salad is good, too - look at all the veggies (and bacon) atop my greens (see pic!) The bar area is loud around lunchtime, but it was a non factor for me as I was simply enjoying some web surfing over my meal. This is a 5-star review because of the service. The bartender, Bry, was so friendly and attentive even though she was so busy. Again, Reed, the general manager, promptly kicked things off on a courteous note! Reservations are recommended! I was lucky to score a seat in the bar! This location is directly in front of the Wal-Mart off Ashford Dunwoody Rd. Ample parking available.

At first there was a mix up with who was serving us do we got explained the drink menu twice. After our appetizer, we waited about 30-40 minutes for the rest of our items which took longer than we thought. They did give us some house made popcorn to keep us busy. Jahjoy pork belly: Tasty & tendor. I loved the papaya salad which left a refreshing contrast. A bit too saucy for me. Flavors were strong. Squid ink bucatini: our favorite! Must get dish - bucatini is perfectly al dente & the spicy sauce was very flavorful. Jumbo shrimp was delicious, and the anchovy on top left a nice strong flavor. Red snapper: This has some Vietnamese influences with the sauce. It was a lighter dish which was just OK for me, I would have liked the fish to have a crispier skin. Not much flavor besides the sauce which is inspired by canh chua. Wagyu flank steak: cooked to perfection and flavored well, loved the celery puree which was much tastier than we expected celery to be. Dessert was mint chocolate cake which was very tasty. I wish the cake was softer and meltier in the center but it was still good. Malt gelato was delicious. Could def taste the mintiness. Creme pat along the edges was a nice add to the cake with cacao nibs and popcorn for a textural contrast. I enjoyed it!! Overall we had a great meal and could tell the ingredients were very fresh. The presentation for all the dishes was beautiful!! We can tell the chef puts care in his food :) Appreciated the personal touch - they gave a handwritten card to my husband for his birthday!

The second rule of GA Chapter Room is: you DO NOT talk about GA Chapter Room You certainly shouldn't Yelp about it... There is something fun about having a secret. Slipping past the Taco Mac crowd, going down the staircase, always provides the intended sense of mystery. GA Chapter Room is furnished nicely with a couple large booths and a great bar. The other nice thing is it wasn't crazy crowded and it felt like we could just talk and be ourselves in here. No shouting required for talking and even with a few others here it was quite private. The drinks were good! At least that is what my beauty said... I had Heineken zero as usual. The food came from the taco mac I think but it was good too. My wife and I explained that no we walked in well within the remaining minutes of lunch, and that there were a few lunch items only offered during lunchtime that we wanted to take advantage of. Remember, if she would've come to greet us right away instead of being on her phone there would not have been an issue. Plus there was literally no one seated outside except for us! No excuse for this type of service. Plus I'm shocked that management didn't accommodate a first timer to your establishment being it was the server's fault. Amazing how these kind of restaurants forget there are soooooo many great options in this city! No one is going to put up with this type of nonsense. Funny how they forget who's the paying customer, and get arrogant instead of being flexible within reason to a great customer experience. Food: 5/5 We decided to try a leisurely lunch. The menu is not large, but it has enough variety to be interesting. Everything we tried was delicious. The smoked salmon appetizer portion was large, but the best part was the great flavor. I can see why this choice has been on the menu for years. The Vidalia onion soup will be a surprise for the non-Georgians who expect it to be similar to a savory beef broth like French onion soup. Georgia's onions from the Vidalia area are sweet and tasty enough to carry the soup without the help of a meat broth and the green pesto sauce offers a nice additional touch. The salmon on fresh salad was done perfectly. The panka-crusted cod with mashed potatoes and spinach was outstanding. Both were seasoned so lightly that the true flavors shone through. The portions were generous enough that dessert at the time would have been too much, but others can do as we did and take home one of the dessert choices. Next time we plan to try their sandwiches which looked yummy at other tables. Service : 5/5 Service was excellent from the pleasant greeting, through the entire meal.
