I ordered food to be delivered. I ordered the Redwood Salad. It's supposed to have Rotisserie chicken on it. I was so hungry and really looking forward to it. The salad delivered had NO CHICKEN. None, nothing, nada. $23 bucks for basically a side salad with some avocado. I was allowed a $6.41 credit. The full amount I payed for the chickenless Redwood Salad should be credited back to me. How did it even leave the kitchen???. Don't order anything here unless you like wasting money. read more

We didn't plan to eat here. We weren't paying attention and ended here instead. Happenstance is one of my favorite words and one of my most favorite life occurrence. We walked in and I noticed how dark this place is. You will get a peek of the kitchen and the reception desk. We were warmly welcomed and walked to our table. I started with The 303 cocktail. I would get this again most definitely. I don't like cocktails that are too sweet. This concoction gives just the perfect amount of sweetness. It's Bulleit Rye whiskey, Briar Patch Bitters, Blueberry Jam and Fever Tree Ginger Beer. $12. We started with probably one of the best Calamari ever. It was nicely seasoned and the portion was great. I love my Rib Eye. So I needed to know if Alexander's is any good. It was:) Cooked perfectly to my request of medium. This came with a side of really good mashed potatoes. They make their own version of the Worcestershire sauce. I didn't use it. I truly don't sauce my food. That's why I appreciate this meat dish because it was good the way it came. Tender and well seasoned. Could be a date place because of the low lights all around and not to mention the red container holding the burning candle. Booths all around. Think Chocolate J. Alexander's is a fantastic venue to experience a culinary treat. The food and drinks are phenomenal; furthermore, the dark lighting and comfortable seating combine to make any social gathering a special one. Unless you've made reservations, there is generally a decent wait before being seated. I suggest that you wait it out at the bar, located to the right of the entrance. The drinks are amazing and the servers are engaging. Once seated, the choice is yours as to what to eat. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Be sure to save room for dessert after that appetizer and entree. The chocolate cake is phenomenal! Seriously........you better get a slice of that!! The lighting here is ultra dark. I know some of you don't care for that, but I have found that it sets a nice tone for conversation and relaxation. Speaking of relaxing, the seating is exceedingly comfortable. Went here for what was a "search for the best carrot cake". Had a coffee drinks which we enjoyed. The artichoke was tasty but with the avocado bomb I expected the ratio of avocado and tuna to be little more balanced. We had some sushi rolls, nothing special. The carrot cake failed. Greasy, tasteless beyond the oil, barely any carrots and really disappointing. Also the server was so disorganized. He came to the table 18 times (not including the food runners). We had two rounds of drinks, 4 appetizers and desert. I would expect a restaurant holding themself to a fine dining experience would have servers who are professional, anticipate what is needed based on the orders, and are organized as to not disturb the guests with so many disruptions. Still 5 stars! I have just never have a bad meal or anything less than top notch service at this place. My husband and I go here a lot for lunch and we even remarked today that we never seem to see the same servers - however we never have bad service. Go figure! I have branched out in recent months and eaten some of their chicken sandwiches, their superb club and the Cypress Salad which is out of this world (are those croutons deep fried?). At any rate, it is a nice atmosphere, good food and great service. It really is as good as it gets! read more

Good day. We had dinner last night there. There were 6 of us and we were seated in the south corner booth by the windows. The meal was great and we took care of our server (even though she kept refilling my icekess sprite with water? It was so cold our entire dinner. We asked about 3x to have the air turned down or off with no results. We were all so cold we had to wear our jackets the entire night. When our food came, my wife and I had French Fries with our meal and within a couple minutes my fries and burger were cold. Redlands Grill delivers on a great lunch. The menu is diverse enough that most everyone would be able to find a meal that suits their palette. I would describe the decor as 'upscale casual' - suitable for a business lunch or family meal equally. Very pleasant staff, plenty of parking, clean and efficient. Umm, yep...some of the best sushi of My eating career. Freshest ginger ever. The Avocado Bomb is a must-order. I will make the trek back to CO from NM for this plate. Staff is super-friendly and knowledgeable. The Cabernet Sauvignon selections (two by glass) are some of the best. Try the Lodi. Coming back for the Smoked Salmon Dip and dessert. We went for dinner and ate in bar. My friend, a local, says the lunch offerings are equally as delish and he has had most items on the menu. The food is always good at Alexander's. We had great service and a pleasant night. It is a very loud place though, so don't expect cozy conversation. We had a table off in a corner that was chilly (right by a door) and directly next to the kitchen with a super loud fan and some arguing wait staff. I know this isn't normally the case so just be picky about your table if you need to be. Otherwise a really nice place. read more

We had a group of 8 celebrating Graduation. Our waiter was excellent and attentive. All the food ordered by all tasted great as were the drinks. No views of the mountains from the inside but when exiting the restaurant you have a view of the Rocky Mountains. All and all we enjoyed our time read more

So this is a restaurant that we just happen to be around the area and willing to give it a try after shopping at IKA monthes ago. And their Carrot Cake was the go to for my husband. This time we brought our son came home from College and he loves Filet Mignon so here we are. Husband had Prime Rib, beautiful thickness and perfectly cooked (medium) however , he would like little more seasoning on his steak. "Filet Mignon was tender and juicy a bite with the buttery mashed potatoes was the best matched" according to my son. This time I took the advises and ordered the "Avocado Bomb" oh what a delightful bomb it was. The tuna tartare perfectly tugged in the creamy thin sliced of avocados, garnish with unagi sauce (which could had little more) and sriracha mayonnaise. Not only delicious but, beautiful presented! Of cause finished a perfect dinner with their perfect desert, Carrot Cake!! read more

Went to Redlands after my husband had a work lunch there and said it was a must visit. Brought our three kids there for an early dinner. Savannah was fantastic. Very attentive and thoughtful. Hostesses sat us at a table where we could park our stroller. Order was accurate. Savannah even offered hot water to warm baby's bottle. And politely asked if soda refills were okay for kids. To-go boxes were handed in advance (it's like Savannah had a crystal ball and could read our minds). Food was perfection. Somehow we ended up with a secret chocolate cake in our to-go bag. This mama is very grateful for the top notch service, welcoming team, excellent wine selection and great food. Will be back soon! read more

It has has been over 4 yrs since hubby and I ate at J Alexander's in Ft Lauderdale. They didn't have one in Portland or Washington State. Imagine my surprise after moving to Colorado and we find Redlands J Alexander's! I am so excited. The calamari is tasty & tender just like the one in Fl. Service is exemplary. The special was a filet Mignon Kabob served on a bed of rice. Delicious!! We also ordered the Mac n cheese. Not exactly the same recipe but close enough to put a smile on my face. Hubby ordered the bean chili. He says it was ver good. The perfect balance between meat and beans. He also ordered the Deviled eggs and could tell it had either been made ahead and refrigerated but tasted good nonetheless. I will definitely be back. Their were some slight differences in the menu and preparation but It still got me my long awaited J Alexander's fix! Almost forgot to give our server his props. Drew was great. We have been here many times over the last few years. On occasion, we may have had slightly less than 5 *, due to slower service or food temps off, but these are rare issues. Most times, service, food quality and general restaurant vibe is great. We will definitely continue to make this our go to steak house. Prime rib, filet, artichokes and their mac and cheese are our favorites. read more

This place brought out about 5 wows from the Mister's mouth, all while still seated in the restaurant. Probably heard it about 5 more times on the way home! The Avocado Bomb is a must! As is the warm carrot cake! You'll want to save room! In between those 2 amazing dishes, we really enjoyed the French Dip (shaved prime rib), and the prime rib Sammie (slab of prime rib). Cooked perfectly with great jus, and horsey sauce. The atmosphere can be on the loud side. Probably because of the great drinks from the bar. The pear martini was amazing! The view of the open kitchen is pretty cool if you find yourself waiting to be seated. A chain restaurant showing how it can be done so right! Let me preface this review with I was on "vacation" in Colorado visiting family. I needed a break from the city so I went fishing with my wife and boys on the South Platte River and walked straight into the Redlands Grill not knowing what to expect. Wearing T-shirts, jeans and muddy boots into a linen napkin, black waiter attired nice restaurant must have thrown some red flags. We initially felt a vibe that we didn't belong but that may have been just us feeling out of place. Host and waitress were great. We were sat rat away and orders were taken. We were given the wine list, like any decent restaurant would, however I had to ask for beer selection as I am far from a wine aficionado. I ordered a tap local draft craft IPA from Lone Tree Brewing. It was a nice flavorful IPA without the overwhelming bitterness some strive for. On the back side of the beer menu were the cocktails which struck my fancy, after I ordered my IPA, so I requested a knickerbocker in addition to my palette wrecker. It came as described however in a "sticky" glass with notes of cherry NyQuil. I can't imagine the server didn't notice the tainted glass but after a few sips the sticky NyQuil gave way to a voluptuous glass of cherry bourbon awesomeness. The wife and I ordered identical prime rib plates (rare) with Caesar salad to start. What can I say, she has great taste just not when it comes to men. The 12 oz cut was amply portioned and was precisely as requested. Bursting with flavor and tender as butter paired well with our tasty beverages. The one downer with the entree was that when it was served my Au Jus had spilled and saturated my plate. I wasn't too depressed as it all ends up in the same place. My boys saw sushi rolls on the menu and went for it. I was skeptical coming from California but they enjoyed the rainbow roll and California roll saying it was better than they expected for sushi in Colorado. I personally liked their take on the California Roll. Desserts were a good size for sharing. We ordered the Very Best Chocolate Bunt Cake and the key lime pie. The bunt cake came a la mode and the crumbling graham cracker crust of the key lime pie made the duo a hit at our table. Coupled with a pair cappuccinos and the night was a success. I give J.Alexander's Redlands Grill in Englewood a solid 4 stars. Great ambiance, quality food and tremendous value (I expected a pricier check than received) however with just a couple of minor hiccups. I would recommend it and plan try it again if given the opportunity. read more

It's very okay... I like the J Alexander's chain, so my expectations were pretty high. By comparison, this Redlands Grille let me down a bit. There's nothing glaringly wrong. Instead, almost everything is just a bit off. Our server was inexperienced in a few areas (e.g., served sushi without soy sauce). Minor stuff, but not quite up to par. My food was quite good but not amazing nor unique. My dinner colleagues thought the same - pretty good stuff, not great, not special in any way. So 3 stars it is. Very disappointing! Steakhouse prices w sub par products. Have had Better steaks at the family steak places for half the price. I ate at the bar, three bartenders talking amongst themselves.
