Cypress salad

Server was super nice! My mom got the Cesar salad with salmon and said it was excellent. I got the cypress salad which was also great. Walking through the restaurant there was a ton of dirty tables but I think they just had a huge rush. Overall great experience, this place always is:)

Another visit to Jay. Alexander's last night and I must say their crab cakes are my favorite in Palm Beach. There is absolutely nothing wrong with those crab cakes, they are perfection! I am a no breading involved type of crab cake, girl, and the very light Panko breadcrumbs on the outside are exactly the crispy crunch that's needed for the inside that is all wrapping and nothing else. The sauces they provide to accompany. The crab pigs are fantastic, and they are very generous with the size of the crab cakes. That has become like go to dish at J Alexander's these days. We of course had the carrot cake, the chocolate cake, which is so rich. I really appreciate the fact that there are no sprinkles, no chocolate chips, just chocolate cake and delicious rich, chocolatey, fudgy, icing chocolate sauce, and the perfect scoop of vanilla ice cream to go along with it. We also had the Cajun ribeye, which was on the specials menu, as well as the smoked salmon dip that was on the specials menu. There's a Thai chopped salad there and then the regular steak Maui, which is their house ribeye two side sides of there not your average macaroni and cheese, which is always fantastic. And we tried the brussels sprouts as well that was one of the special vegetables for the evening. The brussels sprouts were OK nothing special about them roasted with salt and pepper. The mac & cheese delivered as always :-) the salad Was fantastic as always. And the Cajun ribeye was seasoned nicely. There was minimal spice though so if you're a blackening Cajun season kind of person like me it was a little bit underwhelming, but still delicious. Anyway, all these choices were really good. The smoked salmon dip was pretty mild Yeah fantastic dinner. This was such a delightful dinner. J. Alexander never disciplines! And I'm always excited when we can get a nice early reservation at the PGA location because I need time for that amazing food to digest lol. Another review giving it to you, Straight No Chaser! Enjoy!

Couple of coworkers and I came here for dinner. Luckily I made a reservation and I highly recommend it cause it got a little crazy in there. The waiter was a younger guy and fairly friendly. He made jokes here and there as well. Now my coworker ordered a pretty little drink and said it was good, she couldn't remember the name. I went with a beer but when it came out in a little raggedy can I said no thanks! Not for $8 bucks. I ended up ordering absolutely nothing healthy, slab of ribs with loaded baked potato and their mac & cheese. The sides came out piping hot. The potato was really good and while they do openly express their mac & cheese is different and I had no expectations besides wanting it to taste good, it was not something I would rush to order again. Something in it was weird, I couldn't identify it. Now the bad part, those ribs were served to me cold/borderline room temp. Like really, they didn't even look warm, let alone hot enough for serving. I didn't send them back, just decided to eat it later after having a couple of the cold ribs. Uncharacteristically, I didn't take any pics of my coworkers' food but they said their meals were good. They were not first timers like myself so I would guess they knew what to order.

J. Alexander's offers a fantastic dining experience, and the Wednesday soup is my favorite. It's like a creamy chicken noodle soup and is simply a must-try--rich, comforting, and packed with flavor. It's the perfect balance of creaminess and tender chicken. Their Cypress chicken salad is another hit, expertly crafted with fresh ingredients. While it typically comes with ranch dressing, the champagne vinaigrette adds a light and tangy twist that pairs beautifully with the greens. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty soup or a well-composed salad, J. Alexander's delivers on flavor and quality! The service is great during lunch time. Also the place is perfectly lit with an intimate feel.

Is there a dress code of any sort here? It's Florida so would a nice pair of shorts and a button down be okay?

That's never an issue here in Florida. We love wearing our shorts and buttons down.

Carnivore Foodie Nirvana!…read more I'm amazed that I missed writing about Palm Beach Meats! A Bib Gourmand Michelin restaurant, several dishes have been given Michelin designation. Honestly? They're all pretty damn good! This go-round, I tried the pastrami sliders which are off the chain! See the photo. They do a lot of Wagyu here. Honestly? I generally don't like places that do a lot of Wagyu. They tend to lean into the fat too much and don't balance their acids in contrast in their dishes. This place is like a perfect teeter totter sitting in the dead middle. The dishes are well thought through. They don't leave you feeling like you ate 10 tons of food. The cases are full of meats that you can take home and cook as well as cheeses that are exotic and interesting wines and beer and exotic sodas. All kinds of special condiments and foodstuffs. Service is excellent! Order at the counter, but they give you great attention! It's a small place. Desserts are so good that it's scary! Japanese Cream Sandos are a unique one! The dining room is clean comfortable, not pretentious. They're playing 80s Ramones tunes and "Cherry Bomb," and other tunes that just make you smile.

We came here for lunch. We'd been here a few years back for a Yelp drop in event and finally made…read moreit back on our own. TLDR: Pricey but good. I'd craved a hot dog and remembered they offered wagyu dogs. When we got here they were fairly busy. We ordered and paid at the counter. I got a classic Wagyu dog. It usually comes with yellow mustard and chopped onions and chips. I ordered it without onions and subbed tater tots ($2 more) for the chips. They delivered it with onions, but quickly corrected it. Both the hotdog and tots were very good... and very filling. My husband got their Chicago Wagyu dog with all the fixings and a side of chips. Both dogs were large portions. We each had one of their Boylan's sodas. I'd chosen their diet cola and he got their red birch beer. But after reading that there was 100 milligrams of caffeine from coffee in the cola, my husband was nice enough to switch sodas with me. As I said in the beginning, the food was good. This place is unique. So many meats. But paying over $50 for a lunch of two hotdogs and two sodas may be a bit out of range for most folks even if the meat is wagyu -- and certainly what we wouldn't be able to do regularly.

OK this place has an energy. It felt like we could have been in New York, Atlanta or Chicago -…read morethere's just an energy to this place and you wouldn't expect it right near a Dunkin inside of a shopping center. From the sweet pretty blonde hostess to the server and the staff, it just feels like there's an energy there. I also don't usually get into food. I'm not a foodie - I'll spend a lot for a good meal, but I generally don't get too excited about many restaurants. I'm excited about this one. if you're gonna go there for 1 meal, get the MEXICAN STREET CORN and the CHICKEN AND WAFFLES. We always get the corn and our server even gave us little wet naps to clean up with (clutch). And I absolutely love their CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES - three warm large chocolate chip cookies and a glass of milk which was only maybe $10? Crazy - I've also heard happy hour is amazing but I work and can never get there. This time I got the SEAFOOD SAUTEE and it was one of the best seafood dishes I had. Looking back, I'd recommend asking to replace the potatoes with shrimp if you can. They were so good. Our server Natalia was great and said the shrimp is from Argentina.. My wife had the PORK COLLAR - I thought it was good but I didn't think it was as good as my seafood. Our daughter had the burger - really solid and she couldn't finish it. Bonus for Dad. The last thing I would say is that this place isn't gonna be for everyone because it's noisy - probably because the bartenders serve great drinks! There was one woman at the bar that was laughing incredibly loud (uggg) but the staff couldn't have done anything about that. If you want to go there and have a really quiet sort of like laid back meal or you get triggered easily or something - SIT OUTSIDE. Otherwise, you're gonna hear music, people talking, laughing, and having fun. That also makes it great for families - we had a couple of kids sitting right beside us. So this is one of our favorite restaurants now in the Palm Beach Gardens area. Highly highly highly suggest you check it out get but GET A RESERVATION - this place is busy. I hope this helps!

Sometimes the best restaurant discoveries aren't planned. They're the result of hunger, a long…read moredrive, and a Google search that happens to get it exactly right. On our drive home from Miami to Jacksonville, we traded Interstate 95 for the slower, more scenic A1A. It made for beautiful views, but after crawling through one coastal town after another, lunch became a priority. A quick search landed us at Stage Kitchen & Bar on PGA Boulevard, a restaurant I later learned had earned a place in the 2025 Michelin Guide. After one meal, it was easy to understand why. We began with two appetizers that could not have been more different, duck confit egg rolls and a grilled cheese. Calling the grilled cheese "just a grilled cheese" would be unfair. Brie melted between perfectly griddled bread kissed with white truffle oil already sounds luxurious. Pair it with a bright mango jam and suddenly a childhood comfort food becomes something unexpectedly elegant. Richness met sweetness in all the right proportions. The duck confit egg rolls were equally memorable. The duck was deeply seasoned with Middle Eastern spices, giving each bite layers of warm, savory flavor. The accompanying peanut chutney added sweetness, nuttiness, and just enough contrast to keep the dish from becoming too heavy. These egg rolls packed far more personality than their modest appearance suggested. For lunch, my wife ordered the grilled black grouper sandwich. The fish, sourced fresh from local suppliers, was flaky, moist, and clean tasting. Lettuce, tomato, onion, and a malt vinegar aioli gave the sandwich brightness without overwhelming the fish. It was simple, balanced, and exactly what a fresh fish sandwich should be. I chose Stage's signature burger, two Certified Angus Beef patties topped with aged white cheddar, caramelized onions, sunflower sprouts, and their house "fancy sauce." This is the kind of burger that reminds you why burgers became America's favorite sandwich in the first place. Cooked to a juicy medium, every bite was rich without becoming heavy. The caramelized onions added sweetness, the white cheddar delivered sharpness, and the sunflower sprouts provided freshness and texture. The fancy sauce contributed just enough heat to keep everything interesting without stealing the spotlight. Dessert continued the restaurant's habit of taking familiar flavors and giving them thoughtful refinement. My sticky rice ice cream, finished with mango sauce and toasted coconut, captured everything I love about mango sticky rice while transforming it into something lighter and more playful. It was creative without feeling gimmicky. My wife ordered three macarons from local pastry maker Macaroner, S'mores, Passion Fruit, and Lime Coconut. Each shell was delicately crisp before giving way to a soft, airy center, exactly as a proper macaron should. Stage Kitchen & Bar takes familiar dishes and quietly elevates them through technique, quality ingredients, and restraint. Nothing feels overcomplicated or designed simply to impress. Every plate feels carefully considered. Sometimes trusting Google is a gamble. This time, it paid off. Great restaurants don't always announce themselves. Sometimes they're simply waiting for hungry travelers willing to take the next exit.
