I was craving a good pizza and I got my fix! Stopped by jj's this week and ordered the jj's special! Definitely not your average combo pizza! It was Loaded with salami, pepperoni, sausage, bell peppers, onions, tomatoes which were nonetheless fresh ingredients and a wonderful taste in every bite. I ordered a size of hot wings which were pretty average, as I like mine more on the crispier side before being tossed. My items came with complimentary sides of ranch and everything met my needs. read more

This was my first time at JJs and it definitely exceeded my expectations, the pizza was great. I got a split veggie and Baja and they were even down the middle. Connor was especially helpful with picking what beer on tap was the best. I was also impressed by the wait staff for being attentive and also having to deal with a disgruntled customer how was unsatisfied with the shape of meat in their sandwich. Props to JJs. read more

This is a Reno staple; been around for-ev-er. Great locals' spot, hidden away from Reno visitors and vacationing folks. Straight forward wings, fries, pizza, and beer. Sports on every screen, good old fashioned arcade games, and no fluff. It's just exactly what it presents itself as-a chill hangout- very much relaxed, affordable and eclectic. read more

The meat ball sub here is a farce. It looks more like a marinara meatloaf sandwich. After receiving my sandwich and me being unhappy with the look of it. I was told I could not get a refund. The manager was a total DB about the sandwich. The prices are to high as well. JJ's shame on you! read more

The best pizza in town, plain and simple. We always order the Valdez and the Baja and wings extra crispy and hot with a pitcher of Widmer. The service is great, they are fast and friendly. That's why it's our Sunday tradition to eat here after soccer almost every week. read more

Normally this place is 5 stars for me but tonight not so much. We came into JJs sat down n guy says could I help u? We ask for menus, he hands us one. Doesn't offer even a drink. We order two jj subs (our favorite) n he rings it up and hands us the bill.. 21.50 he says. We ask for water n the. When the food came out he asks are we ready to cash out... Wow ..really? JJ's is a Reno staple. I'm sure every local has their favorite pie. For me it's the Baja minus the chorizo. I've been going to JJ's for years- and while the draft beer selection and video games might change, the beer is always cold and the pizza is always consistent and delicious. We've been going here for many years. This would have to be your hole in the wall restaurant. The pizza here is really good and you won't be disappointed. This isn't the cleanest looking place, but the food is really good. So I'm basing my review based on the food. We ordered half and half large pizza. Half Meat Lovers and half Hawaiian. They put a lot of meat and everything about the pizza is flavorful! I feel like everything is homemade and they take pride on their food. Don't forget to ask for the honey. The honey is for the crust! We also ordered the onion rings. It was perfectly cooked. The batter had so much flavor and it was really crispy, and not overcooked. If you're looking for some really good pizza, try this place out. read more

Amazing like always. Went during HAN when Im sure they are extremely busy, which they were. They were rocking it, we got the last table by the bar. Ordered pizza a few beers and litterally 20 minutes later we had our food Bartender was on top of it as well, quick and on the orders We love this place, parking can be tricky on a normal day even but we tend to street park and walk if needed Love love love this place read more

Service is great and everyone is always very friendly and welcoming. This place is a Reno staple which is why it pains me to say it will be quite a while until I return. Without going into details, I will share there are some cleanliness issues that need to be addressed sooner than later. Unfortunately, I lost my appetite and was even unable to finish my drink. I love this place. We have eaten here for over 25 years. Arguably, they have the best pizza in town, but God knows you will PAY FOR IT. Today, we went for the wings. We called in to get 18 wings for take-out, which was $27.00 before tax. That is over $1.50 per wing. WTF. Seriously, you can get a whole rotisserie chicken from Raleys for $8.99 (It was $5.99 before covid), and they want $30 for 18 wings. Now add in the 20% that is expected for a tip, and you are out over $35.00. IMO that is a total ripoff and I'm done. Peace and Love to you JJ's Pie Co. Or should I say RIP. read more

When I'm craving pizza I will want one of 3 things. Cheap n fast (chain delivery), trendy and upscale (ya know with arugula and balsamic drizzle), or classic pizza parlor (pitchers of beer and Ms Pac-Man). All are suitable options. It really depends on my mood. J.J,'s Pie Company hits the latter of the options. Good Ole classic Reno pizza parlor. Bikini clad beer posters on the ceiling. Video poker at the bar. Ms Pac-Man in the corner. A crackle PA system to announce your food is ready. Paper plates, pitchers of beer, lots of noise, softball team in the back, and simply great food. We love their veggie pizza. Something about whole veggie slices instead of a dice. It's covered with peppers, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, and olives. I love their crust. It's a perfect chew for me. Has a handle that perfect for eating and dipping in sauce of your choice. They have all the fried foods you would expect to see. We've tried many over the years. I love a cheddar popper! This time we were crazing salad vibes so went for their large salad that has the whole kitchen on it. The J.J. Salad. Amazing. The bartenders were slammed but still kept an active eye on us. It is a whole experience. I love this place with all my artichoke heart. read more

I visit Reno often and stumbled upon this place... Great local vibe, unique pizza that tasted great. The wings weren't over sauced so we enjoyed them very much. I had DoorDash today from JJ's and it hasn't changed since I worked at Saint Mary's n we'd go there for lunch ... it's still great ... I had chicken wings and I love the onion rings and garlic bread ... I just wish I could have ordered more garlic bread ... I nit a French Fry eater ... please put that option under the side selection... thank you ... but I will definitely order again when I have a craving ... n I'm going to try a pizza as well ... It USED to be good. This place has been here so long I think people feel obligated. Money needs to be put back into this place. Prices are wrong all over the place and they try to cover it up with posters and what is showing they don't honor. The sauce tastes like they opened a can of watered down crushed tomatoes, very greasy but no flavor and cheese tasted well....rubbery. We paid over 16 for a med 2 topping and the wait staff looked so unhappy to be there. The place looks worse since the first time I went there. More posters to cover up wrong prices tape to replace old prices that still do exist more grease and grime very little parking and just not worth it. The only thing they have going for them is they serve honey with the pizza to cover up the doughy crust taste. read more

JJs has been in town a long time. I first went here back in the early oughts when I lived down the street and not much has changed over the years. It has a rustic feel that only a decades old restaurant has and employs mostly college aged people so it's got a local hipster vibe. I've sat at the bar with old salty union types on my left and Instagram thots on my right. I went back for the first time a week ago and ordered a sandwich and a beer. They have your standard 5 types of draft beers all the near the college places have as well as a bottled selection. Almost all the sandwiches have hot peppers on them, which I think is a cool way to stand out, but I was disappointed that when I ordered the Italian(the only sandwich where peppers aren't standard) with jalapeno and received just the normal sandwich with nothing added to it. I also think the Italian, which I thought was pretty good even without the jalapeno, would be even better with lettuce, tomato and onion added after it was cooked. They also treat the poor food delivery gig worker people like they are subhuman and that is kinda sad. If you send one here, make sure you give them a big tip for dealing with it. read more

While visiting in Reno Nevada, my husband decided he wanted to have a really good pizza. So I went on to Yelp to locate the best pizza in Reno. It suggested a couple of places an JJ's Pie company was one of them. So we decided to give it a try. I wish I could put emojis in this message. Mind blowing game changer!!!! When my husband went to the counter to retrieve our order, he came back with the pizza, plates and some packets of honey as well as ranch dipping sauce. I asked him what the honey was for and he said he was not sure. I decided to try it on the crust of my pizza. AWSOME!!!!!! I had never seen pizza paired with honey. This was so delicious. The service was great. Everyone was super friendly.The medium pizza was just enough for the 2 of us and we left no crest behind lol! read more

I have been going to JJ's since high school. I have always loved their pizza and today I tried their wings too. If you want classic wings, you got em! Pizza was delicious with a crispy softness to their crust that is unique. Dip it in honey. They were the first to introduce the concept in the 90's! The guy who checked me out could have been friendlier, the gal who handed me the pizza was sweet. 5 stars would have been given had the person up front been a bit more personable but with take out guess it's not that big of a deal. My wife came here for lunch with some coworkers and told me about it. She knows how much I love pizza. We decided to come here to watch the Mountain West conference championship and have some delicious pizza. The outside was nothing special, just simple block wall. Keep in mind you don't go there to look at the outside of the building. The place inside was not very busy at first and truly one of kind with it's decor. See the pics, always something interesting to look at. Quite a few of the tables were picnic tables with picnic table cloths on them. You order at the register and find a table. We ordered the All Meat Pizza (we ordered the extra large so we could have leftovers) and I ordered a tall beer just because it goes so well with pizza. We sat down at a table in front of one of the TV's to watch the game. The pizza was ready in a timely fashion. They call your name to pick up at the counter. The pizza was fabulous! It is a thinner crust and not crunchy, the outside crust is like a bread stick. MMMM, very good!! Now that we know about this place, we will be back. read more

Great local pizza! First time ordering from here, I typically order Smiling With Hope in town but I wanted delivery this time. And I'm glad I did try it! The pizza was fresh, tastey, and everything you'd want from delivery pizza. It's a thicker crust, I can see why some reviews said it was doughy, but the crust tastes good so we didn't mind it being a little thick. Get the garlic (it's a free add on topping for any pizza) it makes the pizza extra flavorful. Go local and order from here next time you need delivery pizza! read more

Makes it easy to try multiple pizzas if you order more than one. The crust is on the sweeter side and fluffy. Still, I feel like the pizzas are overpriced for the sizes. read more

I'm sorry y'all messed up why are you charging again yet alone MORE! Insult to injury no ranch. ****BEWARE****Low quality ingredients use to make the pizza. Pizza sauce bland, veggie tasted old and the sausage and pepperoni had no flavor, to top it off it took them over 35min just to bake a 10" pizza. I was better off going to little ceasar for the $5 pizza or round table pizza lunch buffet. Bald headed MF was not welcoming and is very rude to the customer and his employees. Handed me my pizza with no napkins, no smile, no thank you. I even said Thank you and his reply was not even a your welcome, only means I wasn't welcome in the first place and I will not step foot in this unwelcoming establishment ever again. First and last! Dont believe me go read other reviews Especially locals about this place saying it was good and it was there to go spot for lunch/hangout but service and quality went down hill. Don't say i didn't warn you locals and tourist. read more

It's clear they focus on quality from the dough to the sauce to the cheese to the toppings and they put in a healthy dose of passion, fun and love too. It's been a minute since I've stopped at this place but western lights festival brought me downtown and this was part of my plan from the go. I was excited to see that they added woodfired chicken wings, one of my personal favorite dishes anywhere and had to order them and these is absolutely did not disappoint and I'll be back for them again and again. Sometimes it's tough to get a really good crispy chicken wing out of a woodfired oven but this team nailed it in there, buffalo Parmesan sauce was divine, especially with a little bit of the house made ranch. The pizzas were also good, but I didn't like that. They served them in paper takeout boxes because even the short trip from the cutting table to us in that box steamed the pizza and made it super floppy. Toppings were sliding right off the pepperoni pizza we had and it just wasn't the best pizza experience Of the white pizza we tried with spinach and roasted garlic was awesome. There was a list of specials for the day too. - For a place that has "wine" in the name, I thought the wine list was a bit limited/uninspired...the reds, for example, were heavily focused on CA wines, with a few Italian ones thrown in. - My wife and I ordered the Bee Sting Pizza, the Pistachio Pesto Arancini, and the Wedge Salad...all to share between the two of us. While everything was good, the Wedge Salad was the standout, with the Arancini's a close second (and a great sized portion). One of our friends ordered the Salmon special, and it looked good but pretty small in size considering the ~$40 price tag. - Service was good. There was a mess up where the server didn't hear our friend's order correctly and brought the wrong item, but she fixed it although it meant that he didn't his food for a while after the rest of us started eating. It was an honest error, but it would be good if the staff were empowered to do some kind of goodwill gesture, e.g., a free drink, a free appetizer while he's waiting for the food, etc., when something like that happens. - There was a weird thing that happened on our bills...the total that was on the itemized bill that we got from our server didn't match up with the pre-transaction processing fee total that was on our credit card copy...and, unfortunately, our server couldn't explain why. And, yes, there is a 2.5% credit card transaction fee added on (which we didn't see on the menu or anywhere else, but we learned about when we got the itemized bill). - Vibe is just ok...it's pretty loud and the tile floor and tables/chairs felt a little cafeteria-like. I wouldn't call it cozy by any means. Bottom line: Liberty Food & Wine Exchange was a nice place to meet up and the food was tasty...when I asked my wife if she would go back again, her answer was that we should try other places first, which is probably what we'll do.
