This is our FAVORITE sushi spot!! So affordable and the fish is so fresh! We have loved everything we have tried, but do yourself a favor and order the Albacore Delight roll. It is phenomenal and it has some sort of citrusy-ponzu sauce on it that we can't get enough of. It is our favorite roll anywhere. They also have really good garlic edamame and seared albacore. I could go on and on. The ONLY downside is that this place is closed on Sundays, which just always happens to be the day we crave sushi (like Chik-fil-A). haha But everyone deserves a day off. read more

I love this place. The service is fast and friendly. The food is awesome especially for the price. Honestly the only thing that is a downer is out of their control. Which is the parking. Its super busy here during lunch time. It can be a bit hard to find parking in the lot. But this is NOT J Sushi's fault. It was pretty bad... We ordered $80 worth of food on a monday night (1x yellow tail sashimi, 3x salmon sashimi, crunch roll combo, salmon cali roll, 1 salmon handroll, 1 yellowtail handroll). The fish smelled horrible, at first I thought someone farted, but it was actually the food. I can see why the added a lemon wedge with their sashimi, to hide the old fish smell. And the website explicitly says 6 pieces of sashimi, but each order only comes with 4. The crunch roll didn't even come with any eel sauce, or if it was eel, it was extremely watery. Was in the area so popped in to do some work. They have free public WiFi, rolls, sushi, sashimi and more. their rolls are interesting, everything on the menu is very reasonably priced and the fish is not terrible. The service is friendly, spacious restaurant and great spot for anyone in this area to pop in for a quick lunch. However, unfortunately they do not sell alcohol just basic pops, tea and bottled stuff. No oysters, toro, etc it is more a quick stop in for a lunch spot that is not terrible or give you bad fish! I love sushi and I approve, great spot if you don't want to spend too much on lunch or you are just eating yourself :) I give this place 5 stars because usually with more affordable sushi places the service is terrible, fish is not fresh and it's treated like an fast food eat and please leave experienced. I sat here for a while doing some work without any discomfort from the staff because I had finished my food. Can I please give 10 stars, just this once? We eat sushi regularly in NorCal, and thought we found the best place. This is so much better. Everything is so fresh! Adding cilantro (I think) to the summer Breeze roll is genius! I never had anything with the perfect freshness, and amazing ingredients! One roll we weren't crazy about was the iron monkey roll. It was just too messy with all of the sauces on the top. It made it a little messy and gushy. But, it still tasted really good. It's just the texture was too mushy instead of the normal sushi roll texture. So that seems to be more personal preference since the Telstar was great. Thanks for a great dinner!! read more

Great place to grab really cheap sushi! Sometimes, you just wanna eat American-ized Sushi. The avg roll is about $6-9 for each roll. I've visited here several times, and I like how they try to update their menus and introduce new items. The interior is rather small, and it's normally busy around lunchtime. The staff is rather fast and they do their best to accommodate everyone. My favorites are Salmon Lover: Comes with Salmon on top, and salmon and avocado on the inside. It's really fresh, and I love the double salmon. Fried Philly Roll: Just a Philadelphia roll, but fried. the crunchy rice is my favorite part. Las Vegas Roll: Another roll thats just deep fried. I also like the crunchy rice but I don't like the sriracha sauce on it. Oh My Garlic: The garlic and the albacore pair really nicely together. definitely get it if youre a big garlic fan Albacore Delight: everytime I get this, i remember how much crunchy onions they put on... It's not my favorite sushi place, but when I'm in a hurry for some raw fish, this place is good enough. Sushi rolls here are about ~$6-8 bucks (very affordable) and the quantity is quite fulfilling. For $6-7/roll, it's not too bad. They have a good number of specialty rolls that are mostly spicy tuna or crab meat based. Overall quality is pretty similar to Mika Sushi just down the street, but cheaper! They used to have a grand opening deal with a half priced "roll of the day," which was amazing...wish they would bring that back :) I've had their bento box as well. $9-10 will get you a small salad, a few pieces of tempura and CA rolls, along with teriyaki beef/chicken vs some combo of sushi/rolls. Pretty filling and standard fare. Their miso soup is OK, sometimes a bit watered down. It's pretty tight inside. About 20-25 people max, so might be better to just order for pick-up if you're in a rush. Service is great. read more

My favorite in the near Anaheim / Orange region is Orange Roll but I wanted to try something new. I entered here and was promptly seated; the customer service was great! I noticed that most of the sushi is California roll or spicy tuna based with the toppings varying. There wasn't much selection sashimi wise as this place is going for value. We ordered a couple of rolls and got baked muscles, and we were served the food within 5 minutes - it was dang fast. The rolls were less than $6 and they were top notch. I couldn't have been more satisfied considering the price. If you're looking for cheap and basic sushi rolls, this place has you covered. The variety could be better, but overall you'll be very satisfied if you're in the OC and want a quick sushi fix. read more

Crazy huge portions and pretty dang good sushi. Most everything is fried or has an element of fried food to it, but it is super good. We ordered a ton of sushi and it was only $44. Their udon soup is also amazing and it's a huge portion as well. The volcano roll is amazing and so is the orange roll. The Cali roll was pretty good and so was the rainbow roll. I would recommend the first two and to try the udon- It comes with 2 pieces of fried shrimp too. So it's definitely worth the money. read more

Man, this place is good! Full disclosure: My wife & I are pretty new to sushi, so I don't have tons else to compare J Sushi to. But I'm giving it five stars because I haven't had better sushi, so don't @ me. Over two separate visits, we had the Spicy Tuna Roll, Cali Roll, Volcano Roll, Lemon Roll, and Salmon on Spicy Tuna Roll. All of it was good. The Spicy Tuna Roll is our favorite. The only struggle we had with some of the rolls that had stuff on top was that it was difficult to get a clean bite and they're too big to fit the whole thing in my mouth comfortably. I feel like that may just be a sushi thing and I'm just showing how ignorant I am so I can't complain too much; plenty of other foods are twice as difficult and half as tasty. If it weren't for my self-imposed fear of suffocation-by-sushi, I would totally shotgun those things. In addition to the food being delicious, the service is also good. Both times we ordered, we used the website to order & pay. When we arrived to pick up our food, everything was ready to go even a few minutes early. This is one of my favorite sushi restaurant in orange. It is very affordable and the portions are great too. If you order two sushi items then you are pretty much full. The staff is very friendly and fast. Let's get into the sushi. The sushi is fresh and price for it should be $15-20 but it is half that price. I know I hat your thinking that how can it be like that but really sushi should be half price. Other places are making way too much money on sushi that should not cost a lot. Really disappointed with todays sushi rolls. This has been a favorite for awhile but I don't know what's been happening lately. Did they get new cooks? We've always raved about this place to friends so today we got Postmates to deliver lunch and it was awful. The rolls had triple the rice portion and the fish was not fresh. The rice was also very hard like if they had it sitting in the fridge for some time. If I wanted refrigerated sushi, I would have gone to 711. I'll give it another try in a few months. Tried out J's two more times since my initial review and have come to the conclusion that they're actually not that bad. Why? Because of their affordable selections. Plus, the rice was good.
