We went here on a whim, during dinner time on a Sunday, so there was a good amount of people. Jack's has a very old school vibe, and their service was not bad, as the place was busy. Their menu has a good selection of breakfast and dinner options. We ordered the California Burger and the Broiled Chicken Breast. The California Burger is topped with swiss cheese, avocado, tomato, lettuce, pickles, and french fries. It comes disassembled, so you have to put it together yourself. I really enjoyed the burger as it was well seasoned and juicy. In addition, the serving of fries was very generous and tasted good. (I ordered my burger with no avocado and tomato.) I feel like the broiled chicken breast could've used more seasoning. I added salt and pepper, which seemed to do the trick. I recommend coming here if you want an old school diner experience with typical American diner food. read more

I'm not one to complain...much. But if 11/08 was my first time to Jacks it would have been a two star rating. Stopped by for a late dinner and it didn't take long to be seated. The waiter was quick and friendly. I reviewed the menu and went with the Tuesday rib eye special with a salad. Unfortunately they did not have croutons for the salad, but that's ok. Now onto the rib eye. Sadly, this was the worst looking rib eye I had ever seen. It was about 1/4 inch thick and about 25% fat. The baked potato which I requested as a side was more satisfying than the steak. Why didn't I send it back ? It's a small business and any waste hurts their bottom line. My friend recommended Jack's as a great local diner for brunch. We were seated in a lovely large booth and immediately both ordered our drinks. I loved my Jack's coffee mug and loved the free refills even more. We each ordered an omelette with home fries and biscuits with gravy. My omelette was delicious (spinach, feta, bacon and mushrooms) and my friend loved hers as well. We both adored the biscuits and gravy. The gravy has a little heat and was flavorful, a perfect accompaniment to the fluffy biscuits. I would definitely order biscuits and gravy instead of the toast on the side. Service was prompt and friendly. Free parking in the lot. All in all, Jack's is a wonderful local diner that's been around since 1933. Their california burger was good and they load you up with fries which is good. The staff are all friendly and deserve 25 percent tip. Theyre very attentive. Awesome little place with a 70s diner vibe to it . The place is very big and seems to be very busy for breakfast so get there early. The food is really good the breakfast skillet was very flavorful. The fried chicken needed a bit more flavor but was so juicy and crispy it was very good with some hot sauce. The waffle is sweet on its own. The food was not good at all we ordered the country fried stale and pancakes and menudo well let's just say the gravy. Was doughy. And no flavor and the pancakes were doughy not fully cooked but burnt also the menudo tasted like a cows foot and smelled like it was very thick and not good I really haven't had that bad of food in a while to be honest I was so surprised and as for the service I sent back the menudo and. We paid for everything else she was very bothered because I didn't like my food but we still offered to pay. Rolling her eyes. And then the coffee was warm and was not even coffee was like water with a hunk of coffee. I came here last night after ordering over the phone and liking my food the previous night for the first time ever. When I arrived I wasn't greeted just like the previous night and the previous night it was five people at the front. Last night it was just one lady, told her it was for one and I would be dining in. She told me they close in 15 minutes so they were only doing Togo orders. The time was 10:45pm and online it says they close at 12:00am. I asked her why are they closing early and she said to deep clean the kitchen. If you're going to deep clean your facilities you should do so after hours so it doesn't inconvenience patrons, or at least put a sign up. The food was decent but the vibe and energy was off. Shouldn't have to come in a suit or be an old person to be greeted with respect. read more

Not sure what happened today on Mother's Day, but I lost a lot of respect for this place. First of all, we have been going to Jack's since forever! We have always went for breakfast, never anything else. And, second, we should have kept it that way...we decided to eat dinner there yesterday, Sun June 1st - it was around 530p-6p when we arrived. I ordered the baked meatloaf and what a mistake that was!!!! OMG...it was absolutely horrible - dry, an appealing texture, hard and it had a foul smell; it was smothered in gravy, the gravy was good I have to say. I ate the vegetable, a salad and the garlic toast. I finally HAD to tell the waitress about the inedible meatloaf...she was very apologetic. She asked if I would like to get something else...at that point I was so disappointed that I really could not think of eating anything else, she suggested a few things - I finally decided on fried shrimp. Ten shrimp were given to me, I ate 3 and then noticed on the 4th one, that it was NOT cleaned (the shrimp); my husband tried one and it was also not cleaned!!! So, now I have to assume that the other 3 were not cleaned either. I left the remaining ones on the plate; I did not tell the waitress about this, we were both just very disgusted in what had happened with both meals that I received. Now, there is another issue - the Hostess/Manager did walk by a few times and gave my husband dirty looks, I told him "Nah...she wouldn't be doing that!" Well...when I went to pay the bill she (Rae) was at the register, she saw me and walked-away, then a few min's later noticed that no one else was going to take my payment; she returned and DID give me a dirty look and shook her head twice while looking straight at me. I said nothing, just received my change and walked-out. The next time we go there for breakfast, I will let the Manager know about this abhorrent treatment we received from Rae. read more
