Nothing really different about the except that I ordered sukiyaki and I feel like it's less salty, which is MUY BUENO (very good)!!! I used to love it super salty, but honestly, it's not good for me and the less saltier it is, the easier it is to eat. I also ordered T-Rex beef and I shared with my friend and it was more than enough. We just ordered an extra side of rice and that was it. I think if you're extra hungry, you should order your own. I recommend getting sukiyaki!! With ponzu and thai spicy! I wish there were free refills on veggies though. That would be nice!! Oh and the service is here is pretty good. Instead of the typical choice between chicken or beef broth, there were over a dozen options and then the portion sizes for the type of meat you picked were gigantic. I prefer this location over the San Gabriel location, the biggest reason being the availability of the Yelp waitlist. Second reason why? The kitty cat soup pots! I always get spicy pork bone, extra spicy, with beef, t-Rex style. I love my meat! The booths/tables are bigger than the SG location. It was my first time trying hot pots in general, and the overall experience was pretty pleasant. I saw someone talked about the bugs flying everywhere in the restaurant, and it was true! They just kept flying over the food. One of them actually landed in my friend's meat plate, but the server was kind enough to bring him more meat than the amount that was left on the plate. There were so many choices of broth and meat! I got Japanese miso with beef, and it was delicious. The servers were very nice and informative. Everything came out fast. Okay, first don't be like me. I searched for sushi on Yelp search and this restaurant came up with a star! I love Jazz and I love Sushi so this seemed like the perfect match. I had my two sons and hubby with me. This was a fun experience for the four of us. Tyler was an excellent server and was able to make suggestions that we're good for us and also welcomed us to enjoy the food the way we liked. At least three others came to wait on us, refilling our drinks and to offer more broth. This restaurant is not in my area, and I don't think I would choose it again because I like when a chef cooks for me but, I loved the music selection and the restroom was very clean and had excellent partitions for privacy. I enjoyed the experience here. The food was good and everything was fresh. The Resturant is beautiful and has lots of patrons. We are glad we stayed and had a new food experience. I'm going to leave this review 1 star until I actually try the place, but the only reason why is because of the following; 1. There was practically no line there. You'd think seating would be fast right? Wrong. People just hanging out as we waited a couple minutes. Not too big of a deal 2. Finally a server was leading our way around the restaurant and found out there was no open table except for a dirty one. He said to go to the front and wait for him to wipe the table. We did so. Now comes the worst part: 3. He finally cleans the table, but another couple who came after us were escorted to the table. Now this wasnt a big deal because the guy who was helping us saw this. The problem however was that he glanced at me with a hesitant look, and then served that couple anyway. They offered to seat us in the next table but I declined it. Now I've been to some rude places, but this ticked me off. Its 1030 pm, I just want to eat some good hotpot and be on my way. A place that doesn't speak up for it's customers doesn't deserve my money. Maybe I'll try this place another day, but for now they definitely deserve this review. read more

I absolutely adore Jazz Cat! It's my go to place for hot pot because everything (literally everything) here tastes so freaking delicious. You can build/customize your own hotpot (which isn't a new concept but Jazz Cat just does it better). You get to pick your own soup base (highly recommend Thai coconut, spicy tomato, or creamy corn). Then you choose a meat or veggies if you're vegetarian -- but the meats come with a side of veggies, mushrooms, fish balls, and noodles. You can also choose T-Rex for your meat, which just means extra meat and for the same price I believe. I typically get the beef spicy tomato soup with ponzu/sesame sauce. This place is priced similarly to other individual hotpot places I've been to, such as Boiling Point, but it's priced cheaper and honestly tastes so much better. What stands out the most is that the broth here is so flavorful. Every broth is so yummy and slightly thicker than just your average soup. The flavor also really soaks into your meat and veggies. I also like that you get so many different dipping sauces with your hotpot, although it's sometimes unnecessary because the broth is tasty enough by itself. I've gone here with so many different friends so many times, but I recently took my family here and they all loved it! Especially at lunch time, where it was lunch pricing (~$13 for an individual hotpot) and with no wait!! I'm not sure about this location but I know other locations have a long wait for dinner, so make sure to come earlier or during off hours. read more

Much better than their sg location and a lot less people ! Service is prompt and friendly and they really want you to have a good meal unlike the other location. Pots are so cute they are in the shape of a cat. Pots are smaller but you don't really need that big of a pot. Since this place is new it is also much cleaner. I really like that all the pots are individual style and you can adjust the temperature of your pot on your own without having to ask the waiter or struggle by finding which button does what on the side of the table. You get your own individual hot plate. I like getting the spicy tomato and spicy Tom yum with trex beef. Trex is the same price but with less veggies and more meat. Jazz cat also has a great selection of soups that you can try. Don't be afraid to ask for two sauces either. They are happy to accommodate. Cilantro, garlic, and green onion are also available upon request! This restaurant open as of 11/20!! Jazz Cat (SG location) is a place I frequent when I visit home and I'm so happy the Arcadia opened cause it's so close to me. They took over the Din Tai Fung#2 since it is at the mall now. The AC in here is much better than the SG location and everything is newly renovated similar to the other location. I typically order the premium rib eye regular. You can also get T-rex option which is 50% more meat and less veggies. The soup I usually order is the spicy seafood essence or non spicy. Sauce: sesame. The meat is pretty good here, not the best I've had but it's decent. Only thing is I wish they had is unlimited veggies similar to other hot pot places but oh wells. Also, they have a lot of broth options so it's suitable for everyone! Lastly, service is really good here :) I can see this place get way more packed once more people discover this location is opened! read more

The Jazz Cat that I once loved is decreasing its quality tremendously! For the last 3 visits, we constantly got disappointments. Soup was super salty, change of the satay sauce, meat was very chewy (the location in SGV and City of Industry did not have issues) and the cut off of portion, even the regular veggie plate is less. I used to love the Veggie combo entree with a big bowl of veggies, lettuce, broccoli, bokchoy, napa, tofu, and a lot of mushroom. Now they cut off all mushroom except for enoki, portion is like 2/3 of how much it used to be. Replaced by a few piece of carrot and radish. Before, I can always split the portion into 2 meals and get full. Now I finished everything and still feel not full yet. 18 bucks for a BOWL of cheap veggie soup, not a HOT POT. So disappointed. I usually get the beef or lamb with Chinese herbal which is amazing, it is light and earthy. OR get the Japanese miso, seafood essence, or spicy Taiwanese! These are my personal faves. GOTTA GET THE QUAIL EGGS AND UDON NOODLES on the side. Might as well get the size t-Rex and the sesame satay sauce. I'd give this place 4.5 stars. I am a huge fan of Jazz Cat, and I will definitely be coming back to this place again. I have no idea why this place isn't packed on the weekdays during winter break, but I'm glad that it's not because that means I'm seated immediately! Their ambiance is nice, a bit dark, but very intimate with giant booths that prevent you from hearing the table next to you. The waitstaff is phenomenal and very attentive, frequently coming by to offer water and soup refills. I got the pork bone broth with T-Rex beef and ponzu dipping sauce. The soup is refillable, and that's definitely something you should take advantage of as the soup evaporates or is absorbed by the meat/veggies. The veggie platter comes with two spongy tofus, napa cabbage, onion, 1 broccoli, 1 baby corn, 1 slice of pumpkin, 1 fish ball, and 1 crab stick. I recommend requesting an herb platter with garlic, cilantro, and green onion, which I usually use to garnish my sauce and soup. The portions of meat are pretty generous, though I honestly wish that they would give even more considering that these are T-Rex portions (T-Rex and regular meat are the same price, but T-Rex has more meat and less veggies than regular). I would be willing to pay a few extra dollars for more meat, but I'm not sure if that's an option. There is a good amount of marbling and fat on the beef so that if you cook the beef briefly, the beef is extremely tender and flavorful. If the meat portions were larger, this would definitely be a full 5 stars. Would definitely recommend coming here! read more

Each dish is around $14.99 and comes with a tray of meat, veggie, favored broth, an egg, small amount of vermicelli, and rice. Vermicelli noodles and brown rice substitution is 75 cents more. This location is a lot bigger and nicer than their Valley Blvd location. However, it does not have stamp cards! The tables are a little weird. Super big tables make you feel like you are sitting far away from all your friends. Their house special broth is my favorite. However, my friends love Thai lemongrass curry and the Taiwanese spicy. They also have pasta and rice dishes for those who are not into hot pot. Their fried roe filled fish balls are really good. read more

I'm so disappointed to be writing this review but it's something I cannot stay quite about. My sisters and I come to Jazz Cat pretty often and last night was my last visit to this restaurant. It was clear the servers and hosts did not want to seat us the minute we got there. We waited about 20 min to get sat when there was no wait... and another 20 min to get greeted. I'm a regular so 20 min to get greeted by a server is quite a long time. Once we ordered our food took another 30 min to come out and by the time our food came we had already been there for an hour. No one came to check on us and if a server passed by they would turn their face really fast to not look at us. It was a completely uncomfortable experience, we felt racial profiled and it's not the first time this happens here. I will no longer visit this location, if you're not Asian I advice you don't visit either. read more

The black walls and furniture with the giant too-wide tables are interesting, however the food is good! My friend and I chose the rib eye meat. She had the Chinese herbal broth and she enjoyed it a lot with the satay sauce. Our waitress informed me that any broth with milk is actually made with WHOLE milk. So the Asian in me picked soymilk miso instead. It sounds "funky" but it was actually really good! It was like a very creamy ramen miso soup. The meat and veggies also paired well with the ponzu sauce I chose. I thought it wouldn't be enough sauce in that little dish but it was plenty. I was told you can request more sauce if you like at no extra charge. Our veggies that came with the meal includes: napa, bok choy, couple fish balls, fish cake, small piece of corn, some enoki mushrooms, 2 pieces of tofu and a bite of vermicelli noodles. I loooove veggies so I wish there was more. We ended up sharing an extra plate of just veggies at $6.95. Overall the service was good and they checked on us a few times to refill water and the broth. But like I said I wish the table was not THAT wide. I find myself scooting my rice bowl back and forth to get the food and to actually eat it. read more

I always get the beef with milk soup base and i tried the soy milk soup base this time. Not a big difference and you cant really taste it after you put the food in the sauce anyway :) i used to get the t rex(more meat) but i got the regular which was good too. You definitely get full after this meal. Service was good but we were asked if everything is okay probably ten times by different servers. Came here for the first time and ordered premium beef shabu shabu and it was so good. I got the creamy miso soup base. Got the Thai satay sauce and it was good. Yum. Otherwise, you'll wait an hour, like me. The BF ordered the lamb T-Rex, Mongolian herbal pot while I ordered the spicy Taiwanese pot (both $15/pot). Both were delicious and I couldn't decide which I liked more! Definitely a lot better than Boiling Point because you can control how quickly or slowly you cook your meat/veggies. Would definitely return the next time I'm craving hot pot. Ideally during lunch hours bc of the lunch specials - about $11/pot... what a steal! Definitely recommend trying the Taiwanese soup and T. rex premium meat. You can ask for more soup to be added as you eat and some additional sauce.
