This place is awesome. Totally the best one to go to. Fast friendly staff, great sandwiches. It's always clean and inviting. Plus, I was just in there and the lady in line in front of me totally deserved to get punched in the throat. Instead she got the same great service as everybody else. Pro tip: wait until they make both of your sandwiches and then specify a different size on one and different bread and cheese on both. The guy making her sandwiches was a saint. I really enjoyed the Jersey Mikes in Chula Vista so decided to visit the one in Solana Beach since I was driving by. About 10 people were in line ahead of me. First of all, the guys behind the counter were awesome! They seemed to actually enjoy their job! However, I had a turkey provolone and was VERY disappointed. stopped by on a sunday on the way back from adventures in SAN DIEGO -- three of the four brothers that are the franchisees were building sandwiches and working the register. service was exceptional and really added to the experience though i doubt that that kind of firepower is typical. had the FAMOUS ROAST BEEF (comes with provolone) and the ORIGINAL ITALIAN (provolone, ham, prosciuttini, cappacuolo, salami and pepperoni). both were ordered with onions, lettuce, tomatoes, vinegar, oil and spices and were good but not great. not a huge fan of the soft italian rolls (like a giant wonder bread hot dog bun) -- like crustier rolls with more chew but still pretty darn good. read more

Jersey Mike's is now my favorite sandwich shop. Period. Let me just say, Mike's Way is absolutely the way to go! It comes with all cold subs, and it's a perfect blend of onions, lettuce, tomatoes, red wine vinegar (YUM!!), oil, and spices. I went during lunch time, so the line was ridiculously long. But don't worry, it went pretty fast. They had my order ready before I even realized they were done. Service was awesome too! I wasn't sure what to get the first time I went, so they were very helpful and suggested the California Dreamin' sub (turkey and avocado). DELICIOUS! The sub was huge, and they piled on so much turkey! I usually don't like onions, vinegar, and oils in my sandwiches, but this was just amazing. He also mentioned that the Original Italian was a Travel Channel's Favorite, so I guess that's what I'll be getting the next time I go! read more

All these years I've been (sort of deliberately) not going to Jersey Mike's - I've been missing out! Good thing my husband decided to check it out and enlighten us. We went at 11:30am on a weekday and there was no lunch hour line yet. Service is friendly and speedy and we definitely didn't feel rushed. I opted for a hot sub, the PASTRAMI REUBEN - Classic Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and thousand island dressing nice and freshly made, was still hot (and not soggy) when we got home with it! The pastrami was delicious and the cheese melted with just the right amount of just the right sourness sauerkraut. The bun was just okay and maybe a little too much breading, but I guess it's a sub. My husband loves the ITALIAN, and after getting a hot sub (the Philly cheesesteak), he says the cold subs are loaded with more ingredients. Approximately $8 for a regular or $13 for giant subs. I had the regular which filled me up, but I got hungry fast a few hours later... Best of all, they have black and white cookies made in NJ!! The big cake-like ones. That's one of the top 5 things I miss about living in NYC. Unfortunately didn't see them until after we'd paid and were on the way out, so next time! Parking is easy in the private lot. read more

Came here by chance cuz I was returning something at Big 5. Walked in and I was a bit confused on where to stand to order so I just walked towards the middle of the two "order here" signs. With no hesitation, a guy asked if I knew what I wanted. I didn't and he said take your time. One look away from the menu and he was waiting with open ears for my order. I got the mini tuna. Tuna was good, bread was good, the stuff between the bread and tuna were good. This place was GOOD! I liked it better than Subway. The guys there were SUPER friendly! I did like that they sliced your cheese and meats right infront of you. Oh, and they have 2 flatscreens that were tuned into ESPN and NFL Network. Cool to watch during your lunch break. I have driven, walked, flown, swam, hopped, skipped many and many of miles in search of the holy grail of Philly Cheesesteak subs and I finally found it. Jersey Mikes (Solana beach) has by far the best Philly Cheese Steaks I've ever had. I have been to plenty of Mom and Pop shops, Del Mar fairgrounds, Restaurants and none have served me up a sandwich like they do. The staff here are fast and friendly. Kevin and his twin bro's keep it real on the sub tip, and it's always speedy service, even when the lines long. I prefer going in around 3 or 4 though so I'm not apart of all the comotion. we got caught in the storm....3 strikes your OUT 1) phone order- one chicken one veggie...both were made with other meats...messed up the order and they did not do anything about on the next visit as I pick up and drove to carlsbad to surprise my veggie daughter, but showed up with a meat sandwich. 2) phone and phone and no answer....shop closed....temporarily...OK we will try again..but try the technology called voice mail...it helps get the message out to your clients 3) remodeled, new menu, my favorite is no longer available...new chicken sandwich was so lopsided and bread was so hard difficult to each.... very difficult to hear with loud music, kitchen noise, and masks and employees not trained in this new distancing thing...I know it is difficult but understand how difficult it is on our side. This first timer loves Jersey Mike's! Maybe I have been hiding under a rock, but I have never heard of Jersey Mike's before yesterday. (They let me know that there are 500 stores in Los Angeles - what???) After a long day of helping my sister move, she suggested we get a sandwich down the street at this killer sandwich shop off Lomas Santa Fe Drive next to Vons. "Get the #7 (Turkey and Provolone) Mike's way with peperoncini's and easy oil on wheat" she says. What ever, I was starving so off I went. We split the large (gigantic size or something like that) but I let the dudes working there do it the way it should be done...on white bread Mike's way with everything and normal amounts of vinegar and oil and totally loved it. First of all, the guys working there are super personable, cool and nice-Jersey. I told them it was my first visit and they were stoked to have a new convert. I also mentioned to them that I lived in La Jolla and they let me know about the opening of a new store in a few months. YES!!! Here's what they do right: They slice the meat and cheese right in front of you. The bread is totally fresh along with all of the ingredients behind the glass. The large sandwich is HUGE, and you're out of there in less than 5 minutes. What a great experience! The price was right because we split the sandwich and it was plenty for two unless you're auditioning for the next Man vs. Food Nation episode. I think the kicker for me was the oil and vinegar which adds so much flavor to the subs - delish. Although I would have driven to Solana Beach any day for another sandwich from this shop, they are opening a new location near my house and I'm stoked! Ordered on their IPhone App at 12:20, told me the order would be ready at 12:40. At 12:45 I ask for my order and they found it in a bunch of tickets that were waiting to be made. While waiting for the order a customer walks in and orders and they make their sandwich while the rest still are not made. Several customers were incensed when this happed but they didn't care. My sandwiches were finally made at 1:10. This place has definitely gone down hill. This will be my last time there. read more

My dad first introduced me to Jersey Mike's a month ago and since then, I have been there multiple times. They are easy to get to just off of the 5 freeway at the Lomas Santa Fe exit in the Vons shopping center. Every time that I have been there, people have been lined up outside waiting for their turn in line. The Subway sandwich shop down the street has never had a wait like this and they are a block away from the beach! Jersey Mike's sandwiches are made with real meat and not the processed stuff. The lettuce, tomatoes, and onions are fresh. If you get it "Mike's Way", they put salt, pepper, oil, and vinegar on the sandwich (except you lose the sandwich taste with all of the extra ingredients). I would recommend getting the regular size sandwich which is perfect for lunch or dinner. If you are super hungry and want to take home another half sandwich, order the giant sandwich. So, so, so happy I found Jersey Mike's - as an east coast native, I was seriously hurting to find a good hoagie/sub style sandwich in CA. Mike's way is the only way in my opinion - they know what they're doing! More expensive than Subway (aka Scrubway), but much better quality ingredients and experience. I'm from Point Pleasant, NJ where it all began. I love supporting Jersey Mikes because my friend's parents started it all. I've never been disappointed and always craving it. I love the turkey, the tuna, the roast beef, and the pork roll breakfast sandwiches! It's hard to find pork roll in CA (not as hard as some states though) and I love that Solana & La Jolla (and maybe Pacific Beach?) carry the breakfast w/ pork roll now! Jersey Mike's Subs is the place to go. We order a lot from this place for work because of the great customer service and tasty sandwiches. One thing that has nothing to do with their food, but all the workers seemed to be over 6 feet tall which was crazy. My favorite is without a doubt #20 Grilled Pastrami Reuben. Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and Thousand Island dressing with grilled pastrami on a wheat bun. There isn't a more satisfying sandwich! It is cool that you can order online and tell them what time you will be picking it up so it's still fresh and beat the lunch line. This is the preferred sandwich shop. Blows Subway away although I wish they had $5 foot longs like Subway does. read more

The sandwich I had was the number 6 with ham,provolone,bacon...it was absolutely Delicious!!! The bread was soft,(better than subway) the meats were thinly sliced ! and they have a variety of cold/hot sandwiches and salads too,so I am so ecstatic! A note to the employees at JM: we in Del Mar are a very laid back community I understand, when I was there today (1-ish) I noticed there was a line and the poor employees were trying to get all the orders, I say take your time we don't mind waiting...so don't worry. Jersey Mike's always provides a consistent product no matter where you are. I am a big fan of their original Italian cold sandwich, and their cheesesteaks. The original Italian is best served "Mike's Way", which includes lettuce, onions, tomatoes, oil & vinegar, spices. It's a classic! Get the cheesesteak anyway you like it- they are all good! I prefer the original with onions and peppers, and then I add mustard. The service is great as well. The workers are friendly and efficient. read more

Before Jersey Mike's opened their doors here in Solana Beach, the only choice for sandwiches was the Subway down the street by the train station. And while Subway is ok, it's definitely nothing special and you end up getting tired of it after a while. So ever since Jersey Mike's opened some two years ago, I was curious and went in. I have to say how happy I am that they came to our town. Finally, something better than bland old Subway. The subs here have flavor, and the ingredients seem to be fresh. I always remember going to subways and seeing the ice forming on the trays of the veggies they would bring out, and the cold and brittle texture said veggies would have after you ate it. Not so at Jersey Mike's! I have to say that I do enjoy the cold subs better than the warm ones. I've had the cheese steak subs (Big Kahuna and Chipotle), along with the Chicken Parmesan and I really did not care for them too much. The cheese steaks had some oily quality to them, and the chicken parm was a bit too rough and tuff. However, I adore their cold subs. Love the tuna, love the club supreme, and I love the Italian! Exceptional taste! The only downside to Jersey Mike's are the prices, as they are quite a bit more expensive than subway (I end up paying nearly $15 for a giant sub and a drink). But you are definitely getting quality over quantity. read more

I held off giving this store a bad review for sometime now, but today was the last straw. i ordered a number 9 and when the guy asked me if i wanted it mikes way, i commented on how there was barely any roast beef on it. He said we can only put two slices which i know, but the slices were not even equal to one slice. they were like 1 inch by 1 inch not even folded and couldn't cover the turkey. This place has gone down hill. The Solana Beach store constantly has new people working there who don't know how to put the right amount of oil and vinegar and can't slice the meat right or know how the fold it on the sub. Please bring back some competent people and train them right! I grew up in Point Pleasant, NJ and lived to blocks for the original store. Since I'm often in Solana Beach, I like to go to the local Jersey Mike's there. I don't write many reviews on Yelp, but there's a young man named Tom who works at this location whom I feel needs a shout out with a 5-star review. It just so happens by sheer coincidence that Tom is working most weekdays I end up eating there (or more often getting a sub to go). Tom is always friendly, professional and courteous to me and my children. The coolest part is that he remembers me and my order everytime I/we come in (my kids change up their orders often, so this understandably doesn't apply here - lol). Customer service here is extremely hit or miss. Whenever I place a pickup order I make sure to arrive at LEAST 10 minutes later than when it says it'll be ready cause far too often its's not even made when I get there! I always arrive to a line of already angry customers and the person working always looks at me dumbfounded when I say I have a pickup order and then scrams to put my sandwich together in 2 minutes when they had at least 25min. I'm not one to go out of my way to write a review but this has happened 3 times and I have never been apologized too for the wait or at least compensated a cookie/chips. Every time I've been in here there's two people working; one is doing all the work and the other is staring off into space. Get better organized. read more
