You have been warned!!! Save yourself the time and avoid this place unless you want to experience horrible service. The male server really went out of his way to make us feel unwelcomed in the restaurant. From throwing the menus and straws onto the table, to not offering any refills. The server was clearly upset we were there and had to place our order for food. I was really hoping to like this place but I have had better experiences with the same quality of food at other local mediterranean restaurants. Despite the large number of employees just standing around, Jerusalem Grill lacks attentive service; everything there moves at a snails pace, and you're lucky if a server checks up on you or refills your drink. The last time I went to Jerusalem Grill, my sister and I each ordered a vegetarian platter. Halfway through the meal, my sister found a hair in one of the dolmas. We informed our waiter, and a few minutes later he brought out the manager. The manager didn't seem too apologetic, but he did offer to comp the meal from our bill. Shortly after, our server brought out complimentary baklava and the bill. We had still been charged for two meals, so we asked the waiter to remove it. He came back again with the manager who then proceeded to tell us that he had generously given us free baklava and as a result he would not remove the meal from the bill. We didn't ask for the baklava, nor did we eat it. Why would we want more food from your restaurant if there's clearly sanitary issues in the kitchen? Ended up paying the full price, and I regret not just leaving without paying after that disastrous experience. If you value cleanliness and basic human decency, then this isn't the place for you. read more

This is what I believe to be the restaurant's 3rd location (the first is on Ingram Rd, second not far on Wurzbach Rd) we lived and worked closer to the others but now the 1604 one is where we go most often. Still delicious, still quick and reasonably priced. If anything this location has the most interior space and the smoothest parking situation. The men that work here are very friendly and the food is prepared very quickly. I always feel good after eating here, probably because it's tasty without having to fry anything in oil or hide under layers of cheese (not knocking those options, just my gut appreciating the break from typical Texas food.) read more

Though the food and the service was good, there were some things about this establishment I did not like. First, there was some miscommunication with the drink and food orders and once everything was substituted and corrected, my lamb gyro plate was left with some cold pieces of meat and a rather disappointing salad. The meat itself had good flavor as well as the pita bread that accompanied it. The salad on the other hand was severely over dressed and was difficult to eat since it was swimming in dressing. The Jerusalem salad is so refreshing and pairs great with the hot tandoor bread and the Zeit ou Zataar is so flavorful I put it with literally everything. For my meal I got the Beef and Lamb gyro the meat is seasoned so well and very tender. The warm pita bread with the cold veggies just makes everything so balanced. The people here know what they're doing when it comes to food and the fact that this place isn't packed right now has me confused.
