I have tried jimmy in Illinois all over but here in CA it's not the same experience. I felt bread was not fresh and there were no sprouts.

I've been here many times and the quality has steadily declined over the last two years. More times than not, the bread isn't fresh. While I think the bread is made daily, they're leaving it out where it gets progressively dryer as the day goes on. It's a weird kind of roulette, ordering a sandwich and hoping it won't be stale. I will complement them on the excellent online ordering process. They're one of the best in that area. read more

I don't know too many places than can mess up a basic ham & cheese sandwich and I I'm a basic a$$ white boy and this sandwich was basic for me. My advice is to save your money, go to Safeway, buy your own lunch meat and make your own sandwich. I honestly don't even think the chips were good.. the more I think about it the more I get upset. I had to drive forty miles to find a Jimmy John sandwich in California! Way out in the middle of nowhere. Hello East Bay! I haven't had a Jimmy John sub in two years! I think that the last time that I had any sub at all was in the Summer of 2019 and it was the veggie sub (the number 6) at Jimmy John. Somehow in the land of extraordinary meals (Michelin, ramen, sushI, vegan Vietnamese, taquerias, vegan Chinese, vegan brunch, Banh-Mi, Indian, and innovative Californian cuisine), it's practically impossible to find an ordinary sandwich chain In the SFBA, My only suggestion would be to add a vegan provlone cheese option and to call it the Vegan Sub instead of the Vegetarian. Dairy is really not good for health - full of saturated fat, bovine growth hormones, cancer-causing and mucus-producing, toxic crap. Absolutely disgusting. read more

I should have probably looked at the reviews before going here, but I was starving and needed a quick meal. The sandwich was awful, cold, and had no flavor. I am not sure how you can specialize in sandwich making yet have no idea how to make a decent sandwich. The workers were a little off and seemed like they were not trying to help their customers. There was one employee, who was the only one that was nice. Not sure why she works there because her customer service was great and honestly she was the only reason I didn't just walk out of an establishment that has worker who seriously don't care about their work. The wanna be frat boy who works there who was talking crap about a customer made the experience even more awkward. Avoid this place like the plague or at this point like COVID-19! Extremely disappointed. The sandwich was 70 percent bread. The tomatoes were skimpy. Unlike their competition, if you want cheese on the sandwich they charge extra, which they do not tell the customer - you notice it when you get your receipt. For the same price, the sandwiches are far superior at Subway and Jersey mike's. read more

Just went there and got two sandwiches. When I got home and opened up my sandwich I had to add meat cause they were so chintzy!!!! Usually love this place but this was my first and last time to this specific location. The last thing you want to be known for is ripping people off and I definitely did not get what I paid for. I love Jimmy Johns but this is probably the worst Jimmy Johns location I've ever been to. There was barely anything in our sandwiches. I usually order mine with everything but there as probably a sprinkle of lettuce, 2 cucumbers, 2 tomatoes and 2 pickles. The bread and the ingredients tasted like they were sitting out overnight. Usually their ingredients are fresh which is why I loved this chain. My boyfriend said that the sandwiches were premade and they just added the meat options. It certainly tasted that way. I was very much looking forward to my turkey/guacamole sandwich, my all time favorite. I get it home and the 1st bite, I was shocked at how salty it was. I gave it another chance starting at the other end, same result. I open the sandwich and taste the guacamole, then the cheese omg. The salt level was sickening. I work close to jj's and they just opened so I decided to get a sub. Once I walked in everyone welcomed me :) there was a small line which moved really fast because another cashier opened. I didn't know what.i want but one of the employees gave me suggestions and I went with the jj gargantuan. It has a lot of meat. Really! It has salami, ham, capicola, roast beef, turkey and cheese. The bread is very fresh and tasty. And great sauce. Really liked it here and will defiantly come here once in a while. Overall great sandwich and awesome and happy employees. read more

Ordered pickup during covid. I haven't had their sandwiches in awhile so was excited to try again. It did not disappoint. I ordered the Italian night club giant size cut in 1/2. It's absolutely enough for two people and it's essentially two 8 inch sandwiches. The meats were fresh and the bread was soft. Pickup experience was non contact and ready when I arrived. I go to Jimmy John's weekly and never had a bad experience like this. I got a completely wrong sandwich (it happens) but they didn't care enough to make it right. I called but never got through so I emailed and the corporate office sent info to franchise, who never contacted me. I sent another email to corporate to get my money back but they said they can't do anything it is up to franchise owner. They again said they'll contact store owner who again didn't contact me. I spent my college years eating at Jimmy Johns & have missed them greatly since I moved out to Cali. Don't understand why more haven't opened in the Bay Area. Great sandwiches! The Pepe is amazing and the Turkey Tom with sprouts is good too. If you are looking for a great sandwich shop this is it. Way better than Subway. The store was started in Illinois so it has a Midwest flair to it. If you want California sandwiches with a ton of Avacado & other stuff, this may not be the place for you. The Slim comes with just cheese & meat. The other sandwiches come with Mayo, Tomatoes, Lettuce. The speciality sandwiches come with other stuff. If you want no tomatoes or want onion added just ask. My work bought Jimmy John's subs for our lunch on Friday 21, I absouteley loved my ham/turkey sandwich! The size it was cut into everything... so I had the bright Idea of taking my mom there before BINGO the next day Saturday. We drove in from Tracy, sat in the parking for 45 minutes. we were the 2nd in line after they opened we ordered 2#11's on white...DID YOU KNOW YOU CAN ONLY GET THE TYPE OF CHEESE ON THE SANDWICH IT STATES IS COMES WITH, OR NO CHEESE AT ALL!?!??? I was standing in front of the employee dumbfounded?!?! I even said you are kidding-right? The American cheddar cheese is right there in front of the gal making the sandwhich. NOPE the sandwhich comes with provolone so its that or nothing.. ok my 79 yr old mom who was standing next to me said no cheese then.. I asked for mustard in mine ( it was the only thing my tastebuds lacked in yesterdays sandwich) which I thought was so yummy. Wish I could give it zero stars. I was there this afternoon and bought a little john number 5, vito. What I got was bread, tomato, lettuce, a couple of small pieces of cheese and some dressing. It was supposed to have three different kinds of meat on it. No meat!!!! This is the first Jimmy Johns I have ever had the pleasure to eat at, and unless I'm kidnapped it will have been my last. We were traveling from The Silicon Valley to Los Angles and we stopped in Livermore to get gas and a quick bite. My wife put it best, she's had better sandwiches from a vending machine. The words "Bland" and "Skimpy" were thrown around the car as we drove. I have been to this location 5 times and only once was my order correct. Their ridiculous idea of speed is the problem, along with the poor model for ordering at the counter. If the sandwich is described as having Italian dressing and no mayo, then that should be the correct way to receive it. Not the other way around. And "freebies" should be options, not a random collection of what will be on your sandwich when you didn't ask for any of them. Today the guy actually told me what "freebies" he was planning to add, and I said no to 2 of them. He got that right, but didn't add anything I did ask for. Seriously Jimmy John's has been my favorite for a long time, and is absolutely NOT COMPARABLE to Subway (ick?) Even this location - they do a great job with customer service, the sandwiches are AWESOME, it's clean, the best part - we finally have a Jimmy John's sorta relatively close to the South Bay!! Should you try it? Yes Favorite thing about this place: Speed, Turkey Tom sandwiches, the bread, sprouts! I'd love it more if: They put a JJ's closer to the South Bay! Ambience/Location: This location is slightly lacking in packing, but we have never had a problem. We always visit on our way back from Tahoe or Sacramento. Weird you have to add avocado to a club sandwich. When I got my sandwich I couldn't find the avocado so when I asked them to put it on the guy said its hidden between the meat and cheese. When I found it there was barley any. The guy proceeded to tell me it's a tablespoon per 8' sub. For a dollar more you would expect to taste it. I have never experienced such amazing customer service before in my life. After a little confusion with the address I gave them for the delivery Presley gave me a call to fix it and I explained that I was on the side of the road with a popped tired waiting for assistance and we fixed the address confusion. 2 minutes later our driver Jason arrived with a water and bag of chips (we didn't order but Presley felt bad I was stuck with a flat) then Jason offered to help and called his manager to let them know he was going to put my spare on for me. Not one person stopped to try and help me but the second the staff here found out they went above and beyond for me.
