PARKING: Plenty of parking but all very tight. Just be wary of other drivers and the one way of the lot. Be careful as a lot of spots are 20 minutes only. SEATING: A bit small. There is about 7 or 8 tables, all 4 tops if I remember correctly. Got there right at opening so my friend and I were able to pick any table. We got the corner table and it was empty for awhile until noon then it filled up completely with people. SERVICE: We were greeted upon arrival. From what I gathered, it is a mom and pop shop and those were the two running FOH. My friend and I didn't need much but they only came once to take our order and give us water/utensils. All other times, we had to go to the counter to ask for stuff because they were busy with to go orders. FOOD: It came out fast!! We came here specifically for the jjajangmyeon and the tangsuyuk. The way my soul left my body with each bite, I don't think I ever had anywhere better for these noodles. Great portion size too! The tangsuyuk blew my MIND! It was nicely fried and not soggy at all. Flavorful and juicy all by itself and the sweet and sour sauce elevated it. Just wow. Wish the portion for that was bigger. Definitely would come back for those two dishes. The jjamppong was okay. Not bad but not great. Wasn't as flavorful but the seafood was plentiful. It evened out. OVERALL: Loved the food so much! If I was in the area, I would come back. Wish the lot was a bit better though. It was also strange to me that they charged for the to go boxes. A bit funny.
Came here because it was recommended and have to say I am disappointed. First off, there is a sign saying if you check in and give a 5 star review you get a free soda. So take the reviews with a grain of salt I guess. Jajang was okay, it lacked the smoky flavor I was looking for. The noodles were good though, they claim it's fresh and house made. They use fresh ingredients you can see the onions, cabbage, zucchini, pork belly. They didn't cut the ingredients too small so there's still a good bite. It was seasoned pretty well, but it also tasted similar to Paldo's jajangmyun if you know what I mean. 3.5/5 Tangsuyuk was underwhelming and honestly I didn't like it at all. It was dry and overdone. It was hard to chew even after you dip the sauce. There wasn't a lot of meat too, felt like eating fried dried pork jerky. I gave 1 point because the sauce was pretty good. 1/5 Also got chicken fried rice. This was good. Good smoky flavor and seasoned very well. Wish portions were bigger. Forgot to take a photo of it. 5/5 Service was friendly, and there weren't a lot of people when we were there. Maybe 3 parties total including us. Probably won't come back again even if the fried rice was really good.
We ordered a black bean noodle with sweet & sour pork along with chicken fried rice. The Jajang mein had great tasting home made noodles; however, the sauce was not more special than the paldo instant Jajang mein, I was expecting some grilled taste in the onions but it did not have anything unique about it. The sweet and sour pork was a bit dry and over fried, my gums were crying at the end of it and I was sharing it! The cut gum feeling lingered for several hours afterwards. The chicken fried rice, it was really good. It had the wok grilled taste and the ingredients didn't clump or fall apart easy. Much tastier and less oily than Chinese fried rices, I just wish they gave you more for the price you pay.. it's rice after all. I wouldn't make a trip out here again on purpose, but if I was in the area I would not mind getting the noodles with something else.
This small cozy restaurant has a friendly feel. Their jjampong or seafood noodle actually has crab in it which gives it the true flavor. They are a Korean Chinese restaurant and has most of the typical dishes. They also have size choices on entrees which not every place does. For example you usually have to order a family sized tangsuyuk but here they allow for a smaller portion. They are in a shopping center and at some hours parking might be tight but there's also an underground parking conveniently right below. The owner seems nice so help a small business.
Came here because this restaurant had good reviews and I was craving black bean noodles, and it did not disappoint! We were seated immediately and the service was super quick. We got the Sweet and Sour Pork and the Black Bean Noodles. Sweet and Sour Pork - HUGE portion!!! We got the large and it was so much food. As people who eat a LOT, we could not finish it. There was a lot of breading on the pork, but also a good amount of pork too. The sauce was delicious. The hint of sour cut the fat from the fried pork. Special Black Bean Noodle - My husband loved the texture of these noodles. They were very light and delicious. I just wish there was more seafood since there wasn't a lot at all. Overall, definitely would come back here!! So delicious and BIG portions!
Such a humble, simple, brightly lit little spot with the best janjangmyeon I've ever had. It wasn't crowded at 6pm on a Thursday, we were greeted immediately, the friendly lady answered all questions we had. The special janjangmyeon was amazing! I can't stop thinking about it. Noodles are chewy, sauce, veggies, pork are so flavorful, fresh and overall plentiful. The regular janjangmyeon was a bit too sweet for me. Crispy sweet and sour pork was so good and paired so well with the janjangmyeon. I liked how the sauce was on the side because I really didn't need the sauce, but was good to have with every so many bites. Steamed Dumplings were also great, as well as the pickled radish and fresh onions. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back!
Delicious, unassuming gem, with wonderfully warm and hospitable service. The noodles were fresh and soft in both the spicy seafood soup and jiang jiang noodles. Flavors were fantastic, and portion sizes were very large and hearty. The dishes are certainly more carb heavy with a smaller amount of protein. Very reasonable and fair prices. Overall there is a somewhat more limited menu without too many standalone protein dishes (I believe there is a fried chicken dish that seems popular that is often paired with the noodles). Service was fantastic with the kindest servers and workers. Very clean restaurant interior, though it seemed that there were many more take out orders during the evening that we dined in.

It was my first time here and was very happy with my visit! My mom and I shared the black bean noodle, sweet and sour pork, and chicken fried rice. Our favorite was the sweet and sour pork. It was lightly fried and the sauce was separate so it could stay crispy! The fried rice was also delicious, but the portion was a little small. The lady working was super sweet and came to check in on us often. Parking was easy as it's located in a plaza with both above ground and underground parking. Would definitely recommend this place if you're in the mood for some yummy Korean/Chinese food!
I can't believe I haven't left a review for this restaurant yet! I've been going here for so long because their Korean/Chinese food is the BEST! I like to order the jjampong (spicy seafood noodle soup) , jjajamyeon (black bean noodle), and tang suyuk (sweet and sour pork) - it's SO hard to pick only 1 to order because they're equally delicious. You can order to go or dine-in to enjoy the comfy, authentic vibes. The ladies that work here are so friendly and welcoming , it feels like eating at home . I would highly recommend because it is my favorite Korean/Chinese food for the best taste and great value!

I got the stir-fried spicy seafood noodles and they were so good. The noodles had a nice chew, and there was a good amount of shrimp and squid mixed in. It's got some real heat, so if you like spicy, you'll love this. They give you a little black sauce on the side that adds this smoky flavor... definitely use it. Ordered jjajangmeoyn and jjangbbong. The jjajangmeoyn was good. Noodles had great consistency. The sauce was slightly too watery in my opinion. Pork was minimal. The jjangbbong was solid. Soup was very tasty. Also ordered deep fried pork mandoo, (dumplings). It was 3/5. Cozy dining area, not too many tables. Service was good. Parking is also available underground. Lots of stores in this little strip mall. read more

Clean, old school, Korean restaurant in Gardena that specializes in ja jang myun, Tangsuyuk, champong, and othe Chinese Korean dishes. We got here a little before noon and we're seated quickly. We ordered one large Tangsuyuk, 3 ja jang myun, and one champong. The food was enough to feed 6 to 8 people and there were only 4 of us. We finished the jajang myun, but there was plenty of champong and Tangsuyuk to take home. The food was tasty, and we all left stuffed. The large Tangsuyuk was 4x the size of other restaurants. By the time we left, there was a line of locals waiting to be seated. read more

When half of the menu is written in Korean, you know you're at an authentic restaurant. One slurp of the zha jiang mian, you know you've come to the right place. The specialty of this restaurant is clearly the zha jiang mian, as every single patron who came in ordered it, myself included. Even as I wrapped up my morning clinic from across the street at Kaiser Permanente, I heard the noodle calling my name. The noodle did not let me down, and the sauce was as tasty as I dreamed. The large bowl of noodle was served with pickled daikon and raw onion, and both condiments complemented the richness of the sauce well. I had to go easy on the onion, for the sake of my patients in the afternoon. Service was efficient if not overly friendly. Parking was not an issue in this shopping center, at least not around noon on a weekday. Get your JJM fix here. You'll only regret it if you don't come. read more
Arrived around 1pm. The front parking lot is for 20-30min parking. They also have underground garage parking but if you don't like going underground then there is a parking lot in the back as well that would fit 10+ cars. There were plenty of spots there so we parked in the back. We wanted to eat the Jjajangmyun (black bean noodle), Jjamppong (spicy sea food noodle soup) and the tangsuyook (sweet and sour pork). So we got 2 combos: #47 and #58. That way between the two of us, we could try 4 different items. The lady was super kind and split our noodles into two smaller bowls so we both had our own! It was a full table. The Jjajangmyun is on the sweet side and not the salty side. Jjamppong was spicy but not salty. Tangsuyook was crispy but didn't have too much batter (which I like) and the dipping sauce was sweet as they usually are. The sides they give are the raw onions which you could pour over some vinegar that is on the table and dip it in the black dipping sauce (this is really salty so you only dip a tip), and the pickled yellow radish. The radish goes really well with the Jjajangmyun so top it on your noodles and enjoy! Overall, I liked how the food here were not salty and didn't leave me with any weird after taste. The restaurant was on the small side but had a homey feeling and enough tables even for a larger group (8 at the same table maybe). They had a clean bathroom as well in the back. Very nice staff! ** they do charge $0.50 per togo box. So if you are taking your left over just keep that in mind. We didn't know until after we left but maybe it is an LA thing? read more

I haven't been to this restaurant for a long time because I totally forgot about it. But my husband and I wanted to eat some jjajjangmyun and jjampong and we decided to go to jinjaroo in Gardena. The restaurant expanded in size, it was a welcoming surprise. The lady working there was nice and recommened what was popular there. We tried couple of combo meals. Jjajjangmyun with dumplings and jjampong with tangsooyuk. They serve large portions and we were not able to finish all and we both eat a lot. The jjajjangmyun tasted divine! Lots of onions and meat in the sauce, the noodles were the right consistency, not too soft and not too hard. The jjampong soup was delicious as well. You can choose the spicy level for the soup. Lots of seafood inside as well. The atmosphere was bright and open. I will be going back soon for some more noodles. read more

Black bean noodles: delicious, saucy, stellar with a bite of raw onion or radish Spicy seafood soup: A nice burn at the back of your throat, the sip is perfect after a bite of the black bean noodles and sweet and sour pork Sweet and sour pork: thinly smashed fried strips of pork with deliciously tangy sauce The combo of these three dishes is the holy trifecta and Jin Jja Roo is killing it! Service: Food was served in less than 10 minutes and the sweet ahjumma in the front was welcoming. Parking: Easy as there is a lot upstairs and downstairs, had no issues on Thursday night at 6:50 pm. Bathroom: Cute af with the decorations and had a pleasant smell. Make sure you wear a shirt you're not afraid of staining and get to slurping! read more
TL/DR: good Chinese style Korean food. Would try again. My first time at a Chinese-Korean restaurant. It was a great experience, trying to find other countries version of Chinese food. My Korean friend took me here. The noodles were good. And the spicy seafood style soup was great. The sweet and sour pork thing didn't really vibe with me, but the dumplings were great. I would go back to try some other dishes, it's interesting to see your own food with different interpretations. read more

If you're looking for delicious, authentic Korean food, look no further. My bf and I have been on the hunt for the best black bean noodles (jajjangmyun) for a while, and Jin Jja Roo is a winner. It is an unassuming restaurant located in a Korean shopping plaza with no-frills type service. We ordered the black bean noodles and spicy seafood soup with noodles (jjamppong). Both dishes were delicious. The black bean noodles came with a rich and hearty black bean sauce. The zucchini and onions were generously coated in the sauce. The jjampong broth was full of seafood flavor and had the perfect kick to it. It also came with a generous amount of mussels, squid, and veggies. Both dishes tasted so comforting and satisfied our Korean food cravings. read more

Was in the area and craving jjajiamyeon yesterday, so I stopped by Jin Jja Roo for lunch. I ordered the jjajiamyeon (#1), which came out in a HUGE bowl. The flavor of the black bean sauce was great, though I felt like the noodles were a bit too soft for my liking and were stuck together making them hard to grab with the chopsticks. The dish came with onions and radishes which added a delightful crunch, lightness, and tartness to the meal. I also appreciated the warm tea they immediately served me on arrival. Parking was easy since the restaurant is located in a little plaza with a parking lot. Prices were very fair, especially because they give such large portions. My server was quick and very attentive. Overall this was a great experience, and I would definitely like to come back to try some of their other dishes! read more
We wanted Korean Chinese food. This was open....and 45 min to closing! The staff were kind enough to let us order and dine-in. The place is clean but small. We usually order the same items when we go to a Korean Chinese restaurant. OMG! This place blew me away. The food was well-seasoned and came out relatively quickly. Came her with my family as quick pick we found on Yelp. The restaurant was mostly empty when we arrived so we revived prompt service. We decided to go with some of the family style options. To be honest, i found the food a bit underwhelming and didn't stand out very much. It's unlikely that i would come here again. read more

As someone who had never eaten black bean noodles I don't have a ton to compare this place to, but as a first eating experience it was awesome! We split a noodle + sweet and sour pork combo in addition to fried dumplings. The serving sizes are HUGE here. Felt like we got our money's worth and left stuffed. The lady running the front of house was friendly, attentive and helpful when ordering. The restaurant is nothing fancy, but very clean and welcoming. Definitely worth checking out! read more

My group of friends and I decided to come to this mom and pop shop for some black bean noodles for dinner. We were promptly seated and warmly welcomed by the staff. We decided to order a large black bean noodle and a large sweet and sour pork which was just enough to share between a party of 3. Our food came out quickly and fresh. The quality and quantity of our orders were really good and we were satisfied. I would definitely return in the future for more black bean noodle cravings. read more

I do not eat pork, so is it possible for them to make black bean noodles without pork?

What else is in the base of the black bean sauce? (Is: beef, pork, seafood) Is it vegan, can it be made vegan?
I believe there are chunks of pork belly in the regular, and the "special black bean noodles" have seafood - baby shrimp and squid, I think. There is possibly chicken stock in the sauce base. Not sure if the restaurant is able/open to making it…
