4.5 stars. Very delicious, high quality food, flavors and preparation. They ran out of their miso black cod by 6 pm on a Sunday. Started with Caesar salad and happy spoons (tuna and wagyu), both delicious. For entrees we ended up with the short rib which was very rich; the lamb which was all around perfection and sizeable pieces; and the filet which was one of the best we've ever had and it was cooked perfectly to temp-- satisfying my extremely picky and critical mom. String beans and mash potatoes also delicious. We also ordered the mushrooms but happened to get the last serving of the night which was extremely salty but they removed them from the bill no problem. Sorbets were also amazing. We had the raspberry and yuzu. We sat on the patio because they were booked inside til almost 8 pm. Very nice looking place. Noise level was moderate. Server was extremely nice and helpful, she did a great job. The food/kitchen needs some improvement. We went on a Monday night. Ordered short rib...out and will be a least an hour before more is ready. You want Peking Duck, need to order immediately, on 4 servings left. All 4 entrees came out one at a time, with big gaps between them. My asian sesame chicken dish was a very small portion and if you wanted rice, an additional $5. Not as good as Panda Express for 4X the cost. Value for what you get is out of sync. read more

Came in excited to try this new spot, but left feeling underwhelmed. The restaurant is nice, which made for a pleasant start. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite deliver. The menu descriptions sounded great, but the dishes themselves lacked the flavor and polish you'd expect, especially for the price. Portions were average and didn't really justify the cost. Service was polite but a bit uneven, with longer waits between dishes than expected. Nothing was outright bad -- it just never really wowed us. This place has potential, but it feels like it's still finding its footing. I'd consider giving it another try down the line once they've had some time to fine-tune things. I've had dinner at JING several times over the past couple of months and it is absolutely excellent. Clearly, one of the finest restaurant experiences in the Scottsdale/Phoenix area. The Asian fusion cuisine is prepared expertly. From the sushi and rolls through the dim sum and the phenomenal Peking duck the chefs clearly show their exemplary talents, and it's delicious. The managers in front and staff are extremely attentive, the bar is Wayne yet casual and inviting and the bartenders are top-notch. Our table servers every time I visited or outstandingly attentive. The wine list is excellent and the open air ambience with its sun art deco decor makes it an outstanding place to spend the evening, enjoy great food, and people watch. read more

I debated a long time on if this place was a 3 or a 4 star review, but i have to evaluate it based on our experience. One disclaimer is that we visited on a Saturday night during their soft open. So some of our concerns might be related to that. Ambiance: 5/5 Food: 3.5/5 Service: 3/5 We booked a reservation and the moment we walked in we were awed by the ambience. Stunning design and something that felt like a spot for entertainment with dramatic wall and ceiling decor and a sunken bar area. We were told our table was still being configured and i would be a few moments. Totally fine, totally normal. Standing there though, it's apparent that there really is no waiting room. No seats, and no real designated way to be not "in the way" while inside. So noted, don't expect to wait comfortably in the entrance. We were seated not too long after and once we were seated, we again were blown away by the design elements. No complaints about the table, or the decor. Our server came by and made recommendations and we were tempted by far too many items. We ended up ordering tuna on crispy rice, the bao sliders, filet mignon, miso cod fish, and sides of brussel and the garlic green beans. Most if the food was a 4/5 being good but could have had one or two things better. Some stand out feedback was that the tuna sashimi on the crispy rice was phenomenal. Based on that tuna we would come back and try more sashimi. The crispy rice however was compared to a hash brown (too fried and too oily). So the juxtaposition between amazing fish and terrible rice was difficult to reconcile. The other flop was the green beans. On the menu described as stir fried with garlic confit, yet the garlic wasn't in the room with us. The service is what hit the review the hardest. The pacing and delivery of the dishes was bizarre as noted in other reviews. We received our mains nearly 5 minutes after placing our orders. Which was startlingly fast. We placed our main order separately from our shared plate order and thank god we did otherwise it might have come out all at once. Now maybe the pacing is a preference, but the side plates were still on the table when the mains arrived with only one of our two sides. We had to swap the plates but then we realized we weren't even given a steak knife for a filet. We had to waive someone over to request the cutlery for our meal. Then after nearly 1/2 of our food was gone, the other side finally arrived. Then finally our waiter came by to see how we were getting on. I shared that the green beans were lacking in flavor and the response we received was "that's why i didn't recommend it". Then finally the check came. I'm gonna be honest, this one is nitpicky, but if i'm gonna drop 200-300 for a 2 person meal, print me out a receipt. Even if you have a table side machine, print one out, collect my card and run it elsewhere. The check experience felt like a chilis vs what i think they're trying to achieve. We'll come back to give it another chance based on the fish alone, but i think they need to have their service experience align with their price point and ambiance better. read more

What an amazing time! Came with family and had a wonderful experience. Anisa, our server, was EXCEPTIONAL! The dining area is beautifully done, and the noise level is not bad. We were seated quickly. Anisa was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave excellent suggestions. Black miso cod and Lobster fried rice were top-notch. The rock shrimp tempura was flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and not greasy. The sauce was on the side, not drowning the shrimp or the dish's flavor. The sushi and sashimi selections were delicious, expertly prepared, and FRESH. Hot Rock Wagyu (A5, of course) was tasty and fun to cook. Happy Hour is every day from 3-6 p.m., so save a few bucks by going then. The staff were super attentive and made sure that drinks were full, the table was clean and cleared quickly, and all our needs were met. Will be telling everyone I know about this wonderful addition to the Scottsdale culinary scene. And I can't wait to bring more family, friends, and clients to this MUST VISIT restaurant. An enjoyable dinner at Jing, fresh off their opening weekend. Decidedly Pan Asian decor, liked the animal prints although the ceiling in the bar area is a bit Vegas-esque. The food was very good. We shared the spicy tuna and King Crab cake rolls. The King Crab cake roll is served with a dipping sauce of clarified butter floating over Ponzu sauce. Unique and excellent. Although the food was good I can't fathom how anyone thinks it's acceptable to charge $28 for a sesame chicken dish and only give 7 small pieces of chicken. Absolutely one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. I came in straight off a flight from San Diego, excited to celebrate my baby cousin's birthday and enjoy a nice night out. Instead, the entire evening was ruined by horrible service. I can confidently say that in San Diego, regardless of age, this would never have happened. We booked a private room, yet were treated like we weren't even in the restaurant. After waiting over an hour, we told our waitress, Taylor, that we were ready to order. Her response was: "Well, I have six tables to close before you." Completely unacceptable and shockingly rude. We were then told the kitchen was closing in 10 minutes, despite the fact that any of our order hadn't even arrived including starters after all that waiting. The manager was notified and did nothing to help or resolve the situation. They comped noodles which arrived freezing cold. We asked for napkins twice and waited 20 minutes for them. The waitress never checked on us, showed zero friendliness, and made it painfully clear we were not a priority. The treatment felt dismissive and disrespectful, and it genuinely seemed like we were written off because our group was young. If that's how this restaurant treats guests, it's embarrassing especially for a place that claims to be upscale. What was supposed to be a celebratory night turned into frustration and disappointment. There are far too many great restaurants in Scottsdale to put up with this level of service. Will not be returning, and would never recommend this place to anyone. read more
