The food here reminds me of hospital food. My honest opinion it feels like a senior citizen home. It smells like it looks like it feels like it I will much rather prefer Corkys that's within 2 miles north of this restaurant the service was wonderful. I came here to try the eggs Benedict that everyone seems to love. They were good! I like my English muffin with lots more crevices and much more crunchy. The hollandaise was citrusy and not too rich. The eggs poached to perfection. My hubby ordered his standard polish sausage, eggs and biscuits with gravy. The biscuits were dense but good because the weren't thick. The gravy had big chunky sausage pieces as it's base. Seasoned nicely it was a hit. Ambience was a bit drab. They could use a little decorating refresh. I liked JoAnnes but not sure we'll drive this far to revisit. read more

I stopped driving and have not been here in a long time. I had to fast before taking some tests at San Antonio this morning and after the tests I asked my caregiver, Paris, to drive to Joanne's on Mountain, to finally break that fast. Paris had not been there. She loved the fish and turtles outside and the real comfort when you are welcomed in. The staff is cordial, at least I have always found it to be and so glad to see it was as clean and comfortable as I remembered. We had a waitress, a pleasant blonde lady but I did not get her name and I ordered the Shrimp & chose the potato soup instead of salad and the zucchini bread instead of garlic bread, because I hoped the zucchini bread was as good as I recalled, it was better than I recalled. The soup was even better than I recalled too. However, at 90, you never know what new ache or pain will pop up unexpectedly, and before I could finish my soup my stomach began cramping and they were serving our food. I LOVED that soup and asked the waitress if I could have a container to take it home. But my cramps worsened, and my kind caregiver, Paris, who was enjoying her food, immediately asked for containers and packed the food and brought me home. She hardly had time to clean, as she planned to do, when I asked her to leave and I went to bed without putting my food in the fridge. I finally fell asleep and when I woke I went to the kitchen and saw the food, all at room temp. Believe it or not I ate all of it, and it was delicious, not even re-heated. When I can brag on food that is not even warm it HAS to be good. I love that place I just wish I had not ruined Paris' first visit there. I think the prices are fair considering the amount and the quality of food and service. It is obvious that their customers are repeat and know the service staff and other customers. That is always a good sign. It looks like a small place but in reality it is larger than appears and is comfortable with no pressure, even when they are packed. read more

What a great find! My wife and I always try to find new breakfast places but there aren't many that have soups for breakfast. Both the vegetable and beef soup and chicken tortilla soup were great. But what's better is when a breakfast place can do the basics right. I like that the hashbrowns are shredded slightly bigger and tastes great. Even the pancake batter and fluffiness was just right. To top it off our server was excellent as well (didn't catch her name). All in all, we'll prob make this our go-to breakfast spot. read more

JoAnnes exterior appearance doesn't look appealing when you walk to the restaurant (but what mom and pop restaurant does?) The inside decor is also dated with a familiar family restaurant feeling. Thriving plants spread around the perimeter of this traditional layout. I feel the luck and fortune beaming as these plants are growing close to the ceiling. The waitress, Bobbie, was very pleasant and helpful. Always several steps away with coffee at hand waiting to fill a cup. I get the feeling this place is a staple for many people as you see regulars chatting w Bobbie. The food options are wide as most diners are. I went with my go-too, chicken fried steak. A usual staple for me at any new breakfast spots. The chicken fried steak was exceptional and the hash brows crispy as I asked. The only down side were the pucks they drizzled gravy on. Densely firm the biscuits lacked a flaky moist bite. I think the Pillsbury biscuits you find at the supermarket were better. The cylinder container you pop on the side of your kitchen counter to open. Anyways....I like this place. read more

I was lucky enough to discover JoAnnes on my return trip from Bakersfield to Mesa after a great visit with my daughter and grandson. I've given 5 stars because of my experience. I arrived at 8:30am to have a nice breakfast on my way home and was immediate greeted with smiles and beverage offers. Ordered my usual large breakfast meal and it came out perfect as expected. What happened next made my day. A nice man named "Mike" sat at the bar and everybody knew him as they joined in on his FaceTiming with his granddaughter and occasionally stopped by to chat. I paid for Mikes breakfast that day. Just to thank him for reminding me of my own beautiful family. What a great day at JoAnnes! read more

I came late lunch this time solo, place not busy, greeted and seated myself. Ordered lemonade and ground beef steak plain with fries well, corn and salad with blue cheese dressing. Server attentive asked if I'd like beets and told her no and fries well and a refilled my drink. Salad and entree were great in taste and portioned. they honored my request the steak plain and was excellent for the value ($9.99 plus tax). I wish this is like this closer to me! Grabbed breakfast here with a friend this morning and was immediately reminded how good this place is! It's a classic restaurant with genuine home-cooked food at a great price. It's a hidden gem in the city of Ontario and seemingly everyone's go-to breakfast spot after church on Sundays. They have an extensive menu and it's hard to choose what to order. I landed on a meat lovers omelette which came with cheese, sausage, bacon, and ham and they did NOT skimp on the meat (or cheese). It came with a side of hashbrowns and I paid a bit extra for a side of pancakes instead of toast (because their pancakes are delish). The hashbrowns were a bit basic so I will probably try the breakfast potatoes next time instead, but overall my meal hit the spot. Service was excellent and our coffee and tea were never empty. We had a lot of catching up to do and they didn't harass us to give up our table even though they get busy. They have a decent-sized parking lot connected to the restaurant and street parking not too far for overflow. I highly recommend everyone check out this spot and say hello to the turtles and koi fish in front for me! read more

Very good service during a busy holiday weekend. We had a breakfast reservation for a party of 13 family and the staff handled it like pros. Food was cooked correctly and to order. Coffee and beverages refilled promptly without us asking. On a personal note I had the blueberry pancake combo and it was the best I've had anywhere in the country (I'd order this anytime). I've never had a dried up waffer thin rib eye steak before. The waitress Bobbi was really nice, And the three little eggs were great and fluffy cooked over easy, But you can't screw up eggs. Well...maybe ya can I did get burnt eggs once. Nice and black..but..Not from here... It ends there. Why? Because............... The hash brown although crispy were greasy and lukewarm The warm steak was ordered medium, but was so thin and flavorless Beef jerky woulda tasted better then this.. I shoulda got it medium rare to add some kinda life to it. Even the A-1 sauce couldn't revive this steak's flavor. Steak: DOA The rye toast that I had ordered with extra butter arrived. The toast was cold with no butter and hard as a rock. I borrowed my friend's butter from her pancakes And the butter just sat on top...not even melting Sad little toasties were destoyed before they even hit my table. Re-ordered a second order of toast---Big Mistake. Because, they took the bread and nuked it with butter It came out soggy and sagging with some butter on it And it wasn't toasted...just nuked... Duuuuh...what's with that? You do have cute little turtles outside and fisheees... Note: I was upset with the food and uploaded the food pictures to another restaurant. Got home and deleted them off that restaurant. But never saved them. I deserve a negative five stars for not knowing what I was doing...duuuuuh to me. read more

Its a typical breakfast joint Seems like its a place to elderly people after church/hangout place From the outside the place looked really small but when I walked in it was bigger than I thought! Their menu was somewhat broad with different selections! Ordered my usual omelets and mom got a ham steak and two cups of coffee (their coffee was good but it took me asking for three times for me to get a refill) Food was good but not spectacular! Omelet was somewhat greasy and same with their toast! Overall, definitely better than dennys thats forsure but doesnt beat some of the nicer breakfast restaurants in town! read more

I was quite surprised by this place. Homestyle cooking at its best. It's hard to find this type of restaurants these days. I am glad I found this place. I always liked omelette and country style potatoes. So, I ordered an A,B & T mini omelette with potatoes. Omelette came avocado,bacon and tomatoes. It was really good,soft and cooked just right. Came here with the family for breakfast on Sunday. They have a few tables set up outside during COVID. Service was great and our waitress was very friendly and welcoming. I ordered the ABT (avocado, bacon and tomato) omelet with their house potatoes. SO good! Definitely order the house potatoes! My sister ordered the french toast which I tried...also very good. Recommend this place if you live nearby. Also, they didn't have a crazy wait time like most breakfast spots on a weekend! We waited 25 minutes and were allowed to wait in the car. You just have to let them know what car you're in and they'll come to you to let you know your table is ready. I was so hungry, I totally forgot to take a pic of my plate. We've been meaning to try this place for a while now and I'm sad we didn't come sooner. The staff was really nice and you can tell they care about their business and the customers. For Covid-19 related: Masks are required to enter but you take them off at the table. They check your temperature upon entering. You can tell they're sanitizing and cleaning everything really well. It smells really clean in here. For food related: oh my god, it's all so good. The fries were unreal and the pancakes were the perfect amount of sweet. Everything's really good.
