I never understood what the hype was about Jollibee until I tried it today and now I definitely understand. I had tried the chicken, the spaghetti, mashed potato, agobo rice and the peach mango pie and all of them together was so yummy!! My favorite was for sure the peach mango pie and was surprised at how good the spaghetti was. The service was okay however it took quite a while to get our food but this location was pretty busy even for a weekday lunch time. The service was really good. They explained the menu as we didn't understand some things. The food was very tasty and for me unique. The chick was spicy but not crazy more of a medium heat. Of all Hubbers can come up with for a late lunch grub post DAL and rental car pick up, this is what he decided he wanted. I've always loved Jollibee, so why not! We didn't want to do an online order because we couldn't make up our minds even when already parked right outside. It's a lot roomier than most Jollibee's (in the US) I've been to. (Goes with the saying everything is bigger in Texas!) It'll be a takeout for a party of 7. I figure the easiest way to do this is get a bucket treat (with the burger steak.) Hubbers got a chicken sandwich. I added a family pack of the palabok fiesta and a aloha burger for a kid. They're pretty popular. Customers were comin' through, non-stop. It took a bit of time for our order to come through since it is a lot. And I took this time to look around and get a better feel of the place. One thing they have in common with my go-to in SoCal is the little bit of clutter here and there. Some tables needed wipe downs and a few can't-help-but-notice litter under the tables. Not sure how long they were there, but they were cleaned up by the time we left. Once our orders came through, I made sure to check because we had (at least) a 20-25 minute drive - and I would hate to be missing something. And we were: the aloha burger and the gravy. But they rectified that quickly. No biggie. Food was fantastic. It is exactly what I expected. (What can I say: I'm a fan.) FOOD: 5. SERVICE: 4. VALUE: 3. PARKING: Huge private lot. It will not be an issue. OVERALL: 4. They have a drive thru (might be the first I've seen in the US) so that's kinda cool. Good first run. Yelp 100 Challenge 2023 #58 August 22nd Jollibee is a Filipino fast food restaurant serving fried chicken legs and thighs. I visited the eatery for the first time during lunch. The staff was kind and friendly and my food was ready in no time. I ordered through the drive thru and ordered their 10pc family chicken bucket, french fries, and one peach mango turnover. Everything was hot and delicious and it tasted better once reheated. I am not a huge fan of turnovers, but their peach mango was surprisingly delicious. Let me just clarify that I've never eaten here but I came here today for a couple of orders for delivery service. They were extremely busy. JAYSON was very busy but helped me with my orders that I needed to pick up. I definitely want to come and try this place just off the strength that the associates were wearing hairnets. My first time at Jollibee!! We had the pineapple quencher and a soda. It was surprisingly very fruity. We split the palabok and hamburger steak with adobe rice. The palabok was kinda underwhelming- maybe it was too much sauce to noodle ratio? And the sauce had minimal flavor. the hamburger steak was so good!! All the flavor was in the sauce. We upgraded the regular rice side to adobe rice and that was prob our favorite thing- well seasoned! The desserts were less pie and more fried?? the peach mango one was sweeter! There were not enough employees taking orders, and this is the third time we have been where they have been out of chicken tenders. Jolibee has become one of my go-to spots for fried chicken. Their chicken is consistently good, extra crispy and seasoned straight to the bone! You have a choice between regular or spicy... and I always recommend spicy! You know it's gonna be good when the grease coming from the spicy chicken is also red. They have other Filipino staples such as jolly spaghetti, palabok and burger steaks. You can get these main dishes in a variety of combinations. The spaghetti is sweet and savory, the palabok is light and flavorful and the burger steaks give a sort of a nostalgic Salisbury steak vibe, but in a good way. They also have burgers and chicken sandwiches. For these choices, I would recommend the Aloha Yum Burger (pineapple on a cheeseburger is amazing!) and the Spicy Chicken Sandwich (which actually has fresh jalapeno slices on it!). Whatever you order, make sure you get a side of adobo rice and thank me later. If you have a sweet tooth, they have fried fruit pies. The pastry is light and crispy and filled with fantastic flavors such as: mango/peach and coconut/pineapple. They rotate our pie flavors on occasion, so it's always a nice surprise to see what's available when I go. They also have a pineapple quencher that tastes like a fresh squeezed pineapple :) The parking lot has ample spaces (shared with the Calloways next door), but it can be a bit busy on weekends. Came here to try it finally because every time I am close to here they are slammed busy. Today at 3 pm was no exception. It took 30 minutes to to get through the line to order and then another 15 minutes to get my food. For food, we ordered Chicken of course, and we ordered the the Burger Steak with Rice, and of course, Chicken. Not gonna lie, the chicken was NOT all that. I'm from California, had jollibee in the past, it's a great taste but it's soo rich in flavor and salt, I wish they have some type of pickled items like peppers or red onions to help cut the saltiness of all the food. Great tasting dishes, as advertised, but it's your typical food. Adobo rice is good and earthy, the chicken is amazing and moist. The spicy chicken is surprising pretty spicy, it hits you with a slight slap of heat and spicy on the tongue so it comes on quick. The batter is great but just too thick for my liking, a thinner fried batter would of been what I would of preferred. The spaghetti was ok, just sweet ketchup sauce with the taste of weird sorta fake cheese looking. Plus the chopped hotdog gets sorta lost in the sweet ketchup sauce so all I get is carbs of noodles. The burger plate, ugh tasted like overcooked dry beef patty smothered and covering up dry beef with sauce. The sauce did not add any internal moister but once you eat the dry dry dry dry dry beef, with the adobo rice and sauce it's not bad. The palabok is good, the best dish of the day. Thin glass noodles with a semi bland orange sauce with chopped chicharrons but it gets soggy quick so it's like bites and pieces of pork. The ground meat on the orange sauce is good, needs more egg if I'm paying $7 for less than .10c noodles, rehydrated in water. Sauce that seems ok and toppings. Shrimp was ok but they are sooo small they deserve to be on a kid menu. Again for $7 I rather go to Chipotle and get a bowl and get 3x more meat, more flavors, more value. Plus, where is the lumpia? I mean Panda Express has fake Chinese food with an egg roll so why can't Jollibee with its semi not authentic Filipino food not offer lumpia? The main point for me is all that $70, that's a lot. I rather go to a more authentic real Filipino restaurant and probably spend less with a to go meal with a tip and I'm sure it still would be more value than $70. Never had Jollibee before...have been dying to try it. So we ordered spicy chicken leg with spaghetti and the chicken was delicious and juicy but not very spicy. The spaghetti is sweet as I knew it would be. It had hot dog in it as in the Filipins...ita not bad but an acquired taste. We also ordered the 2 piece with rice and the palbok...the flavor was nice. AMAZING! This is the best fried chicken I've ever had: it beats Popeyes and Golden Chick (my usual go to and top favorite). Kirk was the cashier, and he was helpful; I asked which was better French fries and mashed potatoes. Chicken: crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside! It was tasty and each piece had a lot of meat. Mashed potatoes: surprisingly not like cafeteria food. I normally don't like gravy, but it was delicious on these creamy potatoes! Mango pineapple pie: STOLE THE SHOW. Holy cow! It was crispy and flaky on the outside, and the inside was sweet and fruity. Jollibee brings home the taste of childhood. There's just something about the moist on the inside and crispy on the outside chicken and the unctuous gravy sauce. I swear I could drink the gravy by itself. I normally pair it with pancit Palabok for something more savory than spaghetti. Everything is washed down with a pineapple quencher. Portions of jollibee USA are definitely upsized from the sizes offered in Jolibee Philippines. Mashed potatoes are offered in many of the combos instead of rice. Service is fast and friendly. Good fried chicken. Interesting sides and other dishes. This Phillipines-based chain fries some good chicken. Not much difference between spicy and original. A step up from Chick-fil-A and two steps up from KFC. It's not as good as the great Korean and Japanese chicken places, but it's there in the middle and worth a visit. Oh, and the gravy is actually very good for fast food. Far superior to KFC or DQ. And try that spaghetti. Oddly good with the chicken. The spaghetti sauce is a slightly sweet barbecue sauce that the slices of little hotdogs that are kind of like a Little Smokies add a smoke flavor to. I was wary, but then happy I had ordered it. Highly suggest getting the peach mango pie, the spagetti and the spicy fried chicken. The spagetti is on the sweeter side then you may be used to but it is highly addictive if you are a fan of spagetti and ketchup. The spicy chicken has a nice kick and flavor thats unique to Jollibee like other fried chicken chains have in theirs. I know this place doesn't seem like much but it has a nostalgic taste to some who grew up on this where there are many locations.
