3 1/2 stars Jollibee was my comfort food when I was growing up in the Philippines. My parents will always bring us to Jollibee a few times a month and I will always order spaghetti with chicken with extra rice. With that in mind, I am glad that there's a Jollibee here in Virginia that helps satisfy my jolly spaghetti and chicken joy cravings. This Jollibee in VA Beach is somewhat the same and different from the Jollibee that I grew up with. The menu is plain and simple. There will always be a combo to satisfy your hunger. Every combo will have a chicken joy option. We ordered jolly spaghetti with 2 spicy chicken joy and 2 piece burger steak with a side of rice and fries. The spaghetti is sweet and it has hotdogs and ham while the spicy chicken is very very spicy, which I really enjoyed. . I think I drank too much lemonade just to take the spiciness out of my mouth. However, I noticed that the chickens are extra crispy, which what I normally liked, but on this case, it is burnt. If you think rice, fries, and burger steaks are not a good combo, you are wrong because they compliment each other. Although I love the things we ordered, I still feel that the everything was overpriced The chicken joy with rice costs more than $5 or $6 already. As for the employees, I think the people working at the register should be more accommodating. The crew who took our order was very monotone and she looked like she hated her job. Some of the other staffs are nicer, but they still need to work on their customer service. Jollibee restaurant is definitely for Filipinos. It reminds us of our hometown. If you have a very high standards when it comes to food and customer service, and do not have patience to wait for food, Jollibee is not for you. read more

After relocating from San Francisco and hearing there was a Jollibee in VA we were both super eager to give it a shot! Although the menu is quite different than the East Coast (No Spam sandwiches on Hawaiian roll...sigh + more) . The chicken was still not a let down. I repeat, NOT a let down. Fresh, hot and juicy.... will have you patting drool from the corner of your lips. The mash potatoes are creamy yet thick, with a river of mouthwatering gravy flowing down. My favorite jollibee other than the one in florida. Food always come out hot and everything taste just like the Jollibee in the Philippines. Spaghetti is savory and sweet with hotdogs, just the right amount of sauce. I wish palabok would have bigger shrimp but other than that taste really good. Chicken dipped in gravy is love. Jollibee, your local Filipino fast food joint. My friend said this is the only location for miles--northbound in New Jersey and southbound in Florida. Hence, it can get pretty busy. When I went recently (September 2018), they unfortunately didn't have corned beef or spam bites. As far as desserts go, they did have their classic Peach Mango Pie, Halo-Halo, and Buko Pandan Cooler. Their Halo-Halo is good but not the best I've had. The ingredients seemed somewhat old (hard red beans). The staff was nice the morning we went and we got our breakfast (chicken joy with adobo rice and longganisa with garlic rice) very timely. It was so delicious and we went about the rest our day happy because of a great fast food Filipino meal. read more

I usually don't eat chicken with bones, but I really liked jollibee's chicken and sauce. We got a 10 piece bucket with two sides of gravy and fries. The chicken consists of thighs and drumsticks. I love how hot and thick the sauce is and I especially love dipping the chicken into the sauce. Definitely the best way to enjoy their chicken. Their fries and mashed potatoes and gravy are average but nice and hot. Those two and rice are their sides but if I think the mashed potatoes and gravy are better than the others. read more

I have wanted to try Jollibee for so long. I'm a fried chicken lover and this is a place my Filipino friends swear by. Let me start by a quick qualifier. This is fast food we are talking about here. Fine dining, it ain't. My son got the shrimp and pasta dish and loved it. Everyone else ate the chicken and fries. The chicken comes with gravy ala the colonel. Well, let me tell you something friends, this fried chicken is on point! They have both a regular and spicy option. We decided to get regular as a baseline. It was exactly what you want from fried chicken. Delicious, crispy skin and juicy tasty meat. I can honestly say it is probably my favorite chain fried chicken with the exception of maybe Publix. And that's a maybe. If you happen to be lucky enough to have one of these establishments near you, definitely go check it out. I'm hopeful that the chain continues to expand in the US because it is damn good and I'm already trying to figure out when I can eat it again. read more

Jolibee is really famous. I was really excited on coming here but when I got here the lady who ordered my food, her name is SIONI. She is the rudest person I have ever met. She gave me an attitude because I wanted a hotdog plain and the chicken diggers without the meal. I have worked in the customer service industry for over 10 years. She gave a big attitude and that's not how you should speak to someone ever, regardless of what they ask for. I guess you can't expect much because after all, it's fast food. The food was only okay. The chicken isn't as good as Popeyes. The halo halo tasted very strange once I mixed everything together. The yum burger was like a extra cheese burger. The French fries were like McDonald's. The peach mango pie was actually pretty good. The jolly spaghetti will be the only thing I come back for. The butter corn was barely buttered. It was blain. The pineapple juice was good. The hot dog was okay. I ordered one with the cheese. The burger steak was like public school lunch meat. The chicken diggers was like any other chicken tenders. Nothing special. My second time at this location in Sept 2022 - first impression is that it seems a little more put together since my last visit in April 2021. They seem to have fixed their supply issue with the pies which always used to be sold out before dinner! They're still a wee bit slow but overall I think the service is more efficient now. read more

Over the years this place has been the go to place for fil am whenever nostalgia strikes like it did with me. Drove over 200 miles 1 way just to get a whiff of their chicken joy. The food isn't even great coz it's greasy and bland. It's to satisfy an itch. Service is blah since I noticed they were short staffed. Tables were not wiped down leaving crumbs all over. Alright, so growing up in Virginia Beach, I've accepted that the city I grew up in is Little Manila. At first, there were only a few mom and pop bakeries and eateries, but then a few years ago they built this chain, famous to the islands. Now, when I visit "Little Manila" aka Virginia Beach, I feel like I have to stop in at Jollibee. So my go to here is a two or three piece of chicken joy with white rice and gravy and instead of a side I just ask for an extra scoop of rice, which the staff will easily provide. The chicken is soo crunchy and coupled with the white rice, it's such a simple combo that I've grown to just love. I'm a simple man with simple foodie needs. read more

The food is consistent with the quality and taste as the Jollibees in the Philippines. Depending on the time of day or how busy they are, there might be quite a wait until you get your food but the service has always been great. The chickenjoy is always juicy and crispy; the yum burgers stay yummy; the halo-halo is never skimped on. I've tried just about everything here and, honestly, I'm never disappointed when I eat here. They do have new items on the menu that I, of course, had to try. The chicken sandwich was a no for me. I love a good chicken sandwich, but the breast was dry and the sauce didn't add much flavor. I diddddd come at an off-peak time (almost 4pm) so maybe I got an old batch that dried up on the warmer. I will give it another shot someday but that sandwich hurt my feelings a little bit lol Although it could've used some more salt, the adobo rice was good and had some bits of chicken in it which was nice. I don't see myself going back to white rice again. I would rate it a 4-4.5 stars. I'm surprised it has an average of 3 stars, because I strongly disagree. Yikes! This was not what I expected after driving 30 minutes out of the way. This is Popeyes meets the homeland. From afar in a nice shopping area there stood a lone building with the Jollibee signage. It had a drive-thru and a restaurant. It looked like an old Wendy's building. I should have listened to the Yelper reviews! I didn't listen and as a result I seriously waited about 20 minutes for my food. The drive Thru cars eased in/out and I'm sure they were already eating by the time I got my food. I wanted to sample a few things so I ordered the famous chicken leg with a side of palabok. That palabok was very good. It came out hot, tasty and a generous portion. The leg was crispy but it was no different than my local KFC. I was bummed. I also ordered the tosilog pork with garlic rice and an egg. Really? I kid you not... the rice lacked in flavor and the sausage was a tad dry. I'm sure they draw big crowd with their menu but I don't think I'd drive an extra 30-45 min to get the food. read more

I just realized I have been going to Jollibee for the last couple of years and I still haven't written a review yet? Shame on me. The fried chicken here is pretty good. I would say the chicken is always juicy, tender, and the skin is crispy. Be careful of the spicy fried chicken as it's much spicier than other places. This is also my go to place for Halo Halo. It's made to order and has the perfect mix of all the ingredients. We recently saw that they used authentic Filipino ice cream which is awesome. I also live 3 mins away so this is my go to place for fast food when I am in the mood for something greasy and heavy. The major downside of this place is their service. They are always SO slow here, especially their drive through. It can take up to 15 minutes from ordering to actually getting your food. If you think going inside would save you some time, it probably won't be that much better. The kids that work here don't seem to have any urgency. It doesn't matter if you come here at 11AM or 8.30PM on a Sunday, this place is ALWAYS packed. But they have good fried chicken and halo halo for a good price so I will continue to come here for cravings! SN: they have a party room if you wanted to rent it for private events! read more

Well, honey if you haven't had Filipino fried chicken, I'ma light a candle and say a prayer for your tongue because you are missing out on LIFE-UH! IT'S SO GOOD. Crispy, spicy, juicy, tender just...ARGGHHH... I'm afro-latina and our chicken is bomb but the Asian community has entered the chat. Lol... amazing. The spaghetti is (from what I understand) supposed to be as sweet as it is and since I'm team sugar in the sketti, I dig it. Nothing fancy, sauce, meat, noodles. Boom. There's a dish called Palabok that I ADORE and I'm not Filipino so I can't describe it with justice but it's like clear, angel pasta, that's very sticky, a gravy of some sort, and crunchy, crumbly things on top lol, (technical terms only), shrimp, ground beef I think, and hard boiled egg slices on top. Its.... perfection. I'm a right brainer and like my flavors and foods to touch and bang and date on my plate and in my mouth so it's the comfort you need if this is you too.
