Food is so yummy!! I love coming here with friends and doing karaoke. [[HIGHLIGHT]]AC is included in the rooms so it's not too stuffy either.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely come here for a good time!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is your typical solid pocha in Koreatown with really cozy outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service + food is as expected, and pricing is reasonable. Another nice perk is that they have on-site parking , however street parking is relatively doable. However, what makes them stand out compared to other spots is that they have karaoke rooms! You're going to regret not making that a part of your night out.

Came here with a group for dinner and karaoke. We ordered the duck BBQ and the pork belly. The duck was very tender and juicy, and when we used the rendered duck fat to make fried rice at the table, it added a rich, savory finish that really elevated the dish. The pork belly had good flavor and paired well with the rice and sides. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is set up for groups with enough space at the tables to cook your own meat comfortably.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was attentive, checking in to refill drinks and clear plates when needed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's easy to move from dinner into karaoke without feeling rushed, so it works well for a full night out with friends![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I wanted to meet with some of my friends in Koreatown for karaoke and dinner. One of my friends suggested going to Joo Pocha which has food as well as karaoke as a complete package. Joo Pocha is both a semi outdoor, semi indoor restaurant, as well as a karaoke lounge. We reserved a karaoke room and also got dinner there. I arrived fairly early to our reservation. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dining area is in a tent with heat lamps, but fortunately the karaoke rooms themselves are fully indoors.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff are nice, and the food came out at a reasonable pace. The food at karaoke establishments tends to be a bit on the pricier side. We ended up getting nurungji, rabokki, and buldak chicken, as well as some fried chicken wings. The nurungji, which was a seafood stew with crispy rice, was the highlight of my meal. It was a bit challenging for me to eat there as every dish we got was spicy. So there was a lot of spice and not much to balance the spiciness. But the rabokki was good and the spicy chicken with cheese was good. I couldn't eat too much though because I don't have the best spice tolerance. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nonetheless, the food was solid and it was a fun place to do karaoke.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Clam Soup My favorite with soju
    Ko K.

Visiting K town from out of state- as it was past stomping grounds back in the day. I was craving for some soul food and soju at pocha/ pojangmacha (outside tented bar, traditionally on the wheel but it evolved to just big tent) Joo pocha was just the right place! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Venue: sever outside booth inside the tent. Pretty spacious. They have norebang/ karaoke too which is a perfect combination just in case you want to extend the fun.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food: well I only tried clam soup as it is one of the signature food with soju. Since I had dinner right before coming here, I just needed something light. The soup was very clean- traditional - spicy (black pepper), savory. You can eat it with rice or just as a chaser for soju. A table next to me was eating kbbq which I want to try next time. Service: servers were super nice and very eager to help. Price: just right. Would recommend for food and drinks. Too many good things to say about this place. I celebrated my thirtieth birthday here with 15 friends in the party room and the service was AMAZING and omg the food exceeded everyone's expectations! I got to decorate and they even gave me glow sticks and another end of night goodie. We didn't know this till later but they even had an outside dinner table prepared for us aside from the party room ($100 an hour no food minimum) super easy to book over the phone and they don't charge you for a cake either. The only suggestions I have is that they only offered water bottles for the party and not water pitchers so we had to pay for those. I am so glad I celebrated here, I was almost going to do "the venue" but this spot was amazing. There is a parking lot in the rear but there wasn't many spots available at the time so we just paid $4 for the validation. There was good song options, figuring out the keypad was a small learning curve but we got it down. If you're considering Joo pocha to host your party, do it!! I was hesitant because there wasn't much information for group parties on Yelp, but my whole group and myself were very impressed!

The staff here were absolutely fantastic. Each and every employee were super helpful and made our birthday party celebration an absolute blast!!! The ambiance was spectacular. The manager decorated the room with balloons banners and other festivities to make the karaoke room even more special! The food was 10/10. The fried chicken was cooked to perfection and the soups and ramen were well spiced. Beware, the portion sizes are HUGE. Highly HIGHLY recommend you visit this spot! Best part, the valet parking was only $4 for all night!

this is honestly my first time doing karaoke in ktown and i loved it so much! they have such a good variety of songs even though it's a bit confusing to figure out how to navigate the controller board thing, and they also didn't have an updated book of songs yet. we spent two hours here singing korean, japanese, and english songs - i genuinely was surprised that a lot of the songs we were looking for were there. the drinks are really expensive but i tried the apricot saero for the first time and it's easily my favorite. [[HIGHLIGHT]]our room had a random concrete divider in the middle of the couch, so we kinda felt separated from our group LOL and one person couldnt even see the screen bc the way the room was structured, but it was overall a really good time!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] you could ring the button on the wall if you needed assistance and the staff were generally helpful. there was limited parking here and it was valet. [[HIGHLIGHT]]there was also a nice fireplace outside which was perfect for the cold weather.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]i loved the lighting inside the rooms and out in the eating area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This is one of my go-to bars, and it never disappoints. The food is consistently delicious, making it a great spot not just for drinks but also for a proper meal. The highballs are the highlight here .perfectly balanced and incredibly smooth. They're honestly a standout and a must-try. If you're someone who truly enjoys well-made drinks, especially highballs, this place will not disappoint.Overall, it's an excellent spot for drink lovers who appreciate good food, quality cocktails, and a well-executed bar experience.

Joo pocha is the new "it" pocha. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love how their concept is outdoors and every single item on their menu is so delicious.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The service is pretty decent as well and the vibes are immaculate, literally the perfect combination for drinking.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is my new favorite go to place! Will be back!

Fantastic service and better than expected food. Alot of karaoke rooms too. I thought the pork was too thin for me, but that's ok because it's really just a preference here. I would just get the thicker cut personally. Alot of people come at like 730ish so if you get here when they open, you can get the package and time pretty set.

I had such a fun time at Joopocha. The staff are incredibly nice like, genuinely some of the friendliest people I've come across. Super fast, super accommodating, and always checking in to make sure everything is good. That kind of energy made the whole vibe feel warm. The pocha atmosphere was casual, fun, and perfect for a night of drinking and hanging out. And the karaoke setup in the back was so nice. It was clean, simple, and so fun to head in there after a few drinks. Prices were reasonable too. Overall, it was one of the best pocha-style nights I've had in a while. The food wasn't amazing, but I honestly didn't care because the staff and the vibe totally made up for it. I'd definitely go back just for the atmosphere and service.

First time going and I had an amazing experience, good service and quality of food. We did the bbq with the frozen pork belly and since we didn't really know what we were doing we got some help with very friendly and outgoing staff even gave up tips on how to enhance our food.We went for a late dinner and it was what we definitely needed after a night of drinking will come back. They did have parking in the back also it's nice you have 2 options to exit which was helpful since we were ubering. We wanna come back with friends and try the karaoke (: recommend a nice place to hangout while painting the town red or just a place to eat.

Hangari Kalguksu is doing really well for themselves! It is good to see. There have been so many changes, but I am not a fan of the changes. What was once meticulously fresh prepared side dishes are now generic looking out of a jar side dishes. They have started to feature more things and have expanded their menu, as well as expanded their shop so that it is much bigger. Still packed! Parking is still valet and a hassle. The waiters and waitresses now speak perfect english, which was nice. Kalguksu is still very good. Overall, it feels more commercial than homely now. As a commercial restaurant, it is good. However, not a place I would travel for anymore. I can get this experience from most local spots. I am keeping this review at a 5 star, because it still is worthy of a 5 star. Parking is always a pain in Ktown, but they offer valet for around $5, which makes things a lot easier. This time we ordered the Pork Belly + Jowl Bossam Combo (Large), and I have to say the jowl was the star of the meal. It was super tender and even better than the pork belly. They give you everything you need to make your own wraps. We also got the Budae Army Kalguksu, and the portion was huge. If you're a fan of army stew, this was fire. It came loaded with Spam, sausage, cheese, and plenty of their knife cut noodles. This place gets pretty busy, so expect a wait during peak hours. Even with a full restaurant, the service was still friendly and attentive. I'd definitely come back for the bossam, and next time I want to try more of their other kalguksu dishes .

If you're searching for some of the city's best pork, then those in the know will bring up Ham Ji Park. For 2 decades, generous platters of pork ribs and pork neck stew decked every table. Now, our Korean friends lament the loss of their favorite pork joint in the city. The Koreatown proper location is located in the Royal Plaza mini-mall, just a few blocks off bustling Wilshire. Discounted parking is available in a lot across the street from the Chevron gas station. From the street, the entrance is flanked by potted plants and an enclosed street-ery. Inside, stainless steel chairs are pressed up against wooden tables, each outfitted with a metal grill. Oppressive fluorescent lighting shines down on the stone grey walls, which are left undecorated apart from a few flatscreens. Multi-lingual chatter blends with the sizzle of platters. I visited with some friends for a weeknight dinner, and about half of the tables were occupied. We shared a spread of grilled platters and sizzling soups. The meal began with a carafe of barley tea and a mostly standard spread of banchan. Across our food, the best dish was the signature Charbroiled Pork Spare Rib. The ribs were flavorful without feeling gamey, and the meat was complemented by sweet caramelized onions. The pork ribs handily outdid the good-not-great Charbroiled Beef Short Rib. Lastly, the Milt and Cod Rose with Vegetables stew was fishy and briny, appropriately flavored for the Korean palate. The service was appropriately attentive, although I would've appreciated more intentional refills of our banchan ramikens. The rib plates cost upward of $35 each, while the soup was just under $30. The portions were hearty; a single entree platter could reasonably feed 2 moderately hungry bellies. It's a shame to hear that Ham Ji Park has closed; I'm kicking myself for not trying their pork neck stew earlier.
