Love this place and their quick service. It's a solid choice for a fast casual eat. Seating is limited inside and there's a little outdoor seating area but it's close to the road. I got the Green Goddess with Pepperoni and Sausage for around $25- it comes with two slices and I was full after just one. The arugula and pesto in this is so refreshing, and the cheese is light and fluffy. Unfortunately I had really bad service. I was only trying to pick up my takeout order that I could literally see on the counter. I was standing there as the only person in the establishment for a total of FIFTEEN minutes (I checked the time). I'm usually a patient person, but I was trying to catch the staff's attention by waving, saying hello, and catching their eye multiple times-- at some point it felt like I was being deliberately ignored. For a place that is purely takeout orders, I think they really need to improve their interactions with customers. If you like Detroit style pizza then I'd check this place out for sure. They have many different ones to choose from, and you can order a personal or large size. The restaurant is super small, but they have two tables outside that you can sit on. You order through the large tablets set by the counter and you don't speak with anyone until they call your order out. The only thing I didn't like was that they put two different pizzas in the same box, which we didn't ask for. They made up for it by having great tasting pizza though. As you walk past their magnificently clean window, your eyes are caught by the deliciously crafted pizzas cooling on their racks. Your mouth will start to water and as you get a whiff of the melted cheese and crispy pepperoni, you are officially lured in and will not leave without getting a taste. You walk in and are greeted by...electronic kiosks and if you look hard enough, you'll see the staff working behind the counter. They won't greet you as they're busy preparing orders so you're pretty much left to the devices. Fortunately as you swipe through the menu on the kiosk, you'll see vibrantly depicted pizza slices for their many flavors. They have a variety of vegetarian, meat loaded, and vegan options and you will have the choice of ordering by the slice or whole pizzas. They also have salads and some desserts as well. The whole pizzas are worth it relative to the price of each slice but if you're looking to try a few options, I suppose getting them by the slice could be your best bet. About 30 dollars for a whole pizza (6 slices) seems steep but given the amount of ingredients and that you're dining in the city, it isn't too bad. After you place your order, it's time for the waiting game. They advertise "speedy service", but in our experience, despite being the only patrons present ordering and them having a full rack of fresh pizzas ready, it was not very fast nor was there much service (no greeting or acknowledgement beyond calling for our name when our order was finally ready). It wasn't long enough of a wait for you to think they're making it from scratch either. After we got our pizza (Meatzza), we looked for a place to chow down. There is no indoor seating but just outside, there were benches, stools, and tables. They weren't the cleanest but it worked out. One bite into the fresh pizza, you get a full mouthful of flavor and nice crunch into the crispy crust. The oil and cheese enhance the absorption of flavors and allow the salt from the pepperonis to shine. Overall, Joyride does an amazing job with the presentation, flavors, and texture of their pizzas. Their lack of service and dining space may be justified with the relatively fair prices of their pizza. With so many flavors, it definitely warrants another visit. Given the crowded foodie scene in the city, I am glad Joyride carved out a piece to serve Detroit style pizza in this corner of town. read more

Today was a very special day for my 8 th grade students. We had a celebration for high academics. They were served Joyride pizza, cinnamon knots and garlic knots. Pizza is delicious with the thick browned crusty edge. Love it!! The kids had some thin, think, plain cheese and pepperoni. A bonus treat was the pineapple. I do mean treat. It was excellent. Joyride was very easy to work with and available for any support needed with this very large order. A few of my students were discussing the pizza and these words were included: Unique Amazing Scrumptious The final words were in question form- can we eat their pizza again? I love when we get it right for kids. The pizzas may look small and the normal cut is in four pieces. There is an option for an eight slice cut. I recommend that since pizza is thicker. Also, if having a variety of types, everyone can have the option to take small and try more. They have a large amount of toppings available. Delivery was right on time, the team was professional, and both the students and the adults genuinely loved the pizza. What stood out most was the quality, especially the dough. Joyride is a solid 5 stars for me for a myriad of reasons: - so many creative flavor options! - the crust is voluminous, filling, but not heavy - love the grilled-cheesey edge that is quintessential Detroit style pizza - pepperoni topping is crunchy - if ordering irl, easy/quick via a kiosk - tasty ranch (but for $3, we'll definitely be bringing out own bottle to Dolo next time lol) I really want to love their veggie by the slice options, but if the slices have been sitting out, the freshness for the veggies in particular is lacking -- still a good slice because I LOVE pizza, and not worth taking away any stars because what do I expect for pizza sitting in open air under some warming lights?!, but each time I give veggie by the slice a shot, I wish I went with pepperoni instead ;p so take this as your fair warning. By the slice is a great option for 1, no doubt, unless you're game for leftovers. By the slice is also great if you're eating with someone else so you can try different flavor combinations, just keep in mind they are sitting under warming lamps. I probably won't do by the slice unless it's a super sunny Saturday when Valencia is closed to cars in sections and there's a line/crowd waiting for slices. Otherwise I personally prefer & would recommend ordering a whole pie. Garlic knots with marinara are super tasty, a little greasy, but hello, would you want them any other way? The marinara is the right balance of tomato, not too sweet like some can be. Don't let the average ratings scare you away -- Joyride is a solid Detroit pizza joint that's worth a try. The Green Goddess pizza was a fantastic blend of fresh and creamy flavors. Ricotta cheese, which is amazing on pizza, is beautifully piped on like icing on cake. And there's enough flavor from the ricotta, mozzarella, and pesto that the pizza never felt too bready even with the thick crust. I also LOVED the sweety drops -- super sweet, juicy peppers that could elevate the freshness of any pizza! I'm still on the hunt for them in local grocery stores! It's also great that they have a gluten-free crust option, so our friend could get the delicious Pestoriffic pizza. It's just a slightly more dense, chewier version of the classic focaccia crust. The only thing I will note is some meat additions are pretty pricey -- we paid $5 extra for Italian sausage and didn't feel like much protein was added on. That said, the pizza was delicious on its own, with all the ricotta, and I would just forgo the sausage next time!
