You can genuinely taste the difference here because everything is made fresh to order with real ingredients. None of the artificial, overly sweet stuff you get at chain smoothie places. I love that they don't add sugar, so the natural flavors of the fruit actually shine through. Every smoothie I've had has been consistently delicious. The owner is also one of the sweetest people you'll meet. He's been running this little shop for years, and you can tell how much love and care goes into everything they make. It's the kind of small family-owned business that makes Melrose feel special, and I always leave happier than when I walked in. If you're shopping on Melrose, skip the big chains and stop here instead. Great smoothies, fresh ingredients, kind people, and supporting a local mom-and-pop business is always a win. I recommend this place to everyone!

Melrose Squeeze absolutely exceeded expectations…read more We stopped in after a morning out in Los Angeles hiking Runyon Canyon and were blown away. The smoothies were some of the best I've had in LA -- incredibly fresh, balanced, and flavorful. We tried the Tony Special, the Melrose Special, and the Coconut Cardamom, and each one was fantastic in its own way. What made the experience even better was the service. Vahe, the owner, was incredibly welcoming and attentive. He made us feel right at home and clearly takes pride in what he serves, giving us a few free samples of his favorite items! We also had wheatgrass shots for our friend Nando's mother, who is visiting Los Angeles from Portugal for the first time -- and it was such a fun, memorable experience for her. Fresh ingredients, amazing smoothies, and exceptional hospitality. We'll absolutely be back.

Parking is street parking but I easily found a spot around the corner a short few steps away. Upon entering it's just like another yelper said, it feels like I walked into an apothecary! The vibe is so down to earth and intriguing. Staff is super friendly and helped me decided between two smoothies that I was trying to choose betwee. I ordered the Tropics smoothie which has Mango, Gojiberry, Pineapple, Maca, Chia Gel, spinach, and orange juice, as well as one Aqua shot which is Spirulina, Lemon, Chorella, and they added ginger for me! While I waited I browsed the shelves, I really love the dried hanging herbs on the wall and they have some cool books too. My Aqua shot was a beautiful dark teal color with an apple slice on top in this super cool skull glass. I initially sipped it but then I went for it and threw it down. I actually really liked it with the added ginger because it woke me up and made me feel extra healthy. On my way home I sipped on the Tropics Smoothie. I would say my first taste I think I still had Aqua shot taste in my mouth so initially the smoothie tasted extremely earthy to me. However with each additional sip, the smoothie got sweeter and by the time I finished it was pretty delicious. They have so many other things to choose from including some pre-bottled juices and waters. I wish I am in Burbank more often to stop by and try more, but I definitely will stop by next time I'm nearby!

Kreation Organic - Hollywood…read more Just might be my favorite location of all time. From the artistic design of the outside overlooking Highland & Fountain Avenue(s). To the lush greenery of their outdoor patio that is family friendly, spacious and very pet friendly. This location thrives with a great layout, small market you can shop and self check out at with their touch screen kiosk, even with a personal scanner. Daily self serve sample area of great juices and creations at Kreation. I've been passing by for a few years, but finally gave myself time to stop in and enjoy. The K.O. Crew who helped me were above and beyond personable. They felt like friends I'd reconnected with and absolutely made me want to keep venturing in. I had the Green Dream smoothie, made with almond mylk, green apple, banana, kale and parsley. It's one of their many vegan by default blends. Most made with almond milk, some with added yogurt organic whole milk. Their Awake, Chocolate Lovers, Majoon, Mollie's Post Work Out, Pink Power, Yellow Diamond, Mudder|Earth, Cinna/Mud Kruch (made with Oat Milk) and the Orange Sunrise (which I sometimes get at other locations) are amongst the many dairy free signature smooths. Great Transform Smoothies, Tonics Signature Juices, Amazebowls (aka healthy bowls) and KYO/Kreate Your Own options not to mention Coffees, Bagels, Avocado Toasts, Supershots, Meal Programs, Cleanse Kits... The list goes on! Love all the grab and go meals like their Holy Hummus Wrap, Vegan Basil Tomato Bisque, Guilt and Gluten Free Carrot Cake and so many others. Pup friendly treat and toys available as well as aluminium water bottles for purchase and a bottle deposit service. Parking in the lot, but never really filled or full. I think a lot of people walk over and keep it local for the most part of park off Fountain to avoid traffic. Super walkable from Highland/Hollywood Station with several connection options for city transit in all directions including an abundance of various Lome scooters and motorbikes with others. Open 7 AM until 7 PM every day.

If a trip to Whole Foods earns them the nickname "Whole Paycheck", Erewhon will probably cost you your monthly rent. And yet, like a moth to a flame, I couldn't help but make a trip here to check out their wildly popular (and expensive) smoothies! Wandering through the aisles, Erewhon has all of the basics you would expect to find at a market, but a lot of the brands they carry aren't the typical mainstream ones you'll find at most other supermarkets. In a sense, they're like the Whole Foods of Whole Foods, as they almost exclusively feature premium/luxury brands that position themselves as being more "health focused". While that sort of claim can be relative (e.g. lower calories, but higher sodium), there's no question that the quality of their fresh produce, meats, and seafood definitely looked pretty legit, with a lot of products that are organic, free-range, cage-free, hormone-free, etc. As for the aforementioned smoothies that so many folks both praise and complain about, they're made fresh to order from their tonic bar that sits in the middle store - easy to find, but inconvenient to navigate past. With over a dozen different pre-set flavors/combinations to choose from, along with the option to customize and/or create your own, the menu has so much to offer. What's more, if you aren't in the mood for one of their smoothies, they also have freshly pressed juices, coffees, and teas. Even though their Strawberry Glaze Smoothie is easily their most popular smoothie (and best, according to Hailey Bieber), we opted to try their MALIBU MANGO SMOOTHIE ($21) instead. Based purely on taste, this actually wasn't too shabby - It had a nice punch of mango flavor and the consistency was smooth with just the right thickness to it. Plus, I liked how creamy both the texture and taste was and how it wasn't overly sweet. That being said, after tax/tip, did it taste $28 good? No. Although there wasn't anything inherently "bad" with this, it didn't taste all that different from the one I can get by my place in SF that costs me less than half as much. Despite how expensive the smoothie was, which at least I was already prepared for, the thing that really took us by surprise was how long it took for it to be made. Granted, this location might be an outlier, as its proximity to The Grove probably contributes to the number of people that were here, but I never would've guessed we'd have to wait almost half an hour for our order. Since I don't live anywhere near an Erewhon, I can't say if/when I would come back, but I certainly wouldn't entirely rule it out, as I liked the smoothie we got and I'm genuinely curious about the Strawberry Glaze one as well as some of their prepared foods. However, for how much it would set me back, it'll probably have to come after the next time I get a bonus or a raise so I can feel a little better about the splurge. Four stars for taste and the quality of what Erewhon has, but two stars, at best, for value, so three it is.
