Always looking for good dumplings and noodles. Seemed to be highly recommended by other reviewers. Got a variety of dishes, most of which we did enjoy, some we did not at all. Service was a little bit inattentive - we started out as two persons plus a toddler, then were joined by one more. No one came to give an additional plate or cup, even though we were directly in front of the servers' stations. I had to flag waitresses down to get them. Food came out in a quick fashion. The Juicy chicken dumpling had a hard thickness to the wrapping that was not edible at all. I expected more broth gushing out after one bite, but barely got any. *5/10 Steamed chicken, chive, & Shrimp dumplings were mostly okay, served with a hoisin-type sauce. *6/10 Fried potato string shrimp - *6/10 Crispy beef roll - tender thin thin-sliced beef with chive wrapped in a crispy pancake-like wrap. *8/10 Dry-fried string beans were probably the best dish for this meal - loved the garlicky and sweetish flavor. *8/10 Cold smashed cucumber salad is also good - with a hint of spice from thinly sliced red chilies. *8/10 Shrimp fried rice was a heaping plate of rice with egg, peas, carrots, and shrimp. **8/10 Wontons in chili oil were tender, with just enough heat - not overly spicy. So good we got two orders of these. **9/10 Braised Beef with Noodle (the type that should be spicy and also savory with star anise/licorice flavor ) - I was not at all pleased with the flavor - it seemed to be quite watered down or something. Condiments are on the table if you want to add more chili oil or vinegar. I got a hot citron tea - not refillable. I know we usually end up ordering so many dishes, but it's really the only way to test the menu. Overall, okay food - they are in a plaza with numerous other fast casual dining options. This is a well overpriced restaurant! You could pay similar prices at a Chinese restaurant nearby for most stir-fried dishes (炒菜) with better quality and larger portions. Really good, happy to have it so close by. Beef noodle soup is a must- the beef is so tender but also firm at the same time? If that makes sense. And the noodles are perfectly chewy. Potstickers were a hit with the kiddos, and the beef roll was one of the better ones we've had out. Updated the score to 5 instead of 4 based on my follow up visit. Soup dumplings were amazing again. Pan fried dumplings were amazing (much better than the steamed dumpling imo). Spicy wontons were ok, would probly not get again since the sauce was a bit too sweet for my preference. Food was good, and it's the only Taiwanese spot like this anywhere near that I know of. 5/5 for the food. Soup dumplings were really good, the other steamed dumplings were okay. Would recommend pan fried if getting a non-soup dumpling 4/5 for service. Welcoming and helpful staff, but a little slow. It gets a bit busy for dinner though so can't knock them too hard on timing The food itself besides the soup dumplings tasted a bit more fusion like the Beef Roll coming out sweeter than savory which was good, but not what I expected for a traditional Taiwanese profile of that dish. I got the dan dan noodles for takeout and thought it was pretty mid. The flavor was bland, not much spice, and the sauce tasted like it was just watered down from the noodles. Kinda disappointing. This place was so awful. I would give it zero if I could..... there is no direction in this restaurant signage or anything of the like. Yes there are tables, but it doesn't say sit here and you can order at the table.. there is a counter where you can go order but everything here is very vague. So I went and placed my order at the counter and I specified that it was for here when the food came out, they had it all packaged up to go..... of course they took it back and had everything plated up. They might as well have plated it up in one of my dogs bowls.. the counter kid walked by and asked if everything was OK and I said to him quite honestly absolutely not. I'm not enjoying this food at all the shrimp fried rice was gamy.... That shrimp was absolutely not fresh and caught weeks ago or something..... the soup dumplings were meh.... He said let me go talk to the owner.... Who looked over at me..... and like a chicken shit never approached my table. Solidly good food, and attentive service. Most recently we had the beef roll, pork xlb, baby bok choy, chicken noodle soup, and beef noodle soup. Baby bok choy had a healthy portion of garlic - SO thought they were overcooked, I thought they were good. XLB were very tasty - great filling and soup. Skins were a little thicker than Din Tai Fung's but still good - only downside was no ginger. Beef roll was delicious - pancake was deep fried but not too greasy, and fillings were flavorful. Chicken soup was the standout the last time we ate here, somehow really hit the spot - chicken was soft, noodles had good chew, broth was comforting. Somehow seemed less outstanding this time, but still solid. Beef noodle soup stood out more to me - broth had good depth of flavor with a little heat, same good chew on the noodles, and meat was clean (not a lot of tendon, gristle or fat - which is good for me). We walked in and put ourselves on the list. Waited about 20 minutes outside. Every table was filled inside. Would have loved to have eaten outside and there were lots of empty tables but they weren't serving outside. The ambiance is very basic strip mall. We only ordered three things: The green beans were amazing, the soup dumplings were good and the beef and broccoli was good but was a shaved meat, not slices of beef. The portions were definitely big and it was enough for dinner for the two of us the next day. We also order a Sapporo beer. It was an okay meal. Should probably order some different things next time, but I wouldn't rush to go back, but it was decent. Still need to try their competitor and see what all the hype is. read more

Came here towards the end of lunch rush with a group of coworkers. The service is very inattentive. We ordered an array of foods and thought it was weird that a sauce dish and spoon isn't already provided for each guest when you're ordering dumplings. The food itself was alright. The spicy wontons were not spicy at all. In fact, they are way too sweet! The two items we liked the most were the pork dumplings and the Dan Dan noodles. While we ate every single person from the staff went to the kitchen or was doing a different task but did not once check up on the customers. There were not that many customers at this point. We were finished eating and thought maybe we needed to pay at the counter because no one came out until they brought our check to us only after noticing we were already walking over to the register. Overall very lackluster experience. Food was mediocre. I would personally not return. read more

What I'd recommend getting are the string beans, BBQ Pork Bun, and of course you have to get some dumplings and we opted for chicken. ive heard of this spot because my aunt tried it out, so my mom decided to give it a try. id like to point out that ive heard this is like dtf dupe but me & my mom never tried dtf so i cant say if they taste the exact same or not or the price etc etc. just pointing that out! the menu had a good variety of asian food. we went on a sunday around almost 6. so not too busy there was plenty of tables open. the place is lowkey small but can probably fit enough people (i dont know what number to say specifically) they have outdoor seating too. me & my mom got braised beef noodle soup, juicy chicken dumplings (8 pc), chive, shrimp & pork pan fried dumplings (8 pc), & spare ribs with mashed garlic. we spilt the beef noodle soup, we finished that. we also asked if they could make it non-spicy but they could only do mild which was okay! (my mom cant handle spice) the rest we took for leftovers. the portions are good, probably/definitely will fill you up. the whole thing costed $64 (without tip) the beef noodle soup was okay but i felt like the broth was watered down. it took me a few sips to know if there was flavor or not. i ended up adding a bit of chili oil. didnt really make a difference just a kick of spice nothing wowza. my mom said the noodles could be used for spaghetti (??) lol?? 6/10 juicy dumplings was good. i love dumplings in general but i dont think ive had broth in dumplings so it was so good. 8/10. chive, shrimp & pork pan fried dumplings was also good 7/10 spare ribs with mashed garlic 7/10. i liked it, it was kinda sweet at the beginning but savoury at the same time. some reason reminds me of something but i cant remember. read more

Everything was flavorful and the potions are a good size for sharing. I wish we could have ate more but we were stuffed!
