We were in the neighborhood and went to this place because we love the one in Huntington Beach. It was very disappointing as the food was just okay compared to the Huntington Beach Juicy Dumpling Factory. The most disappointing was the chow mein. It tasted like used old frying oil was used to stir fry the noodles. Had such a bad taste! The service was nice. If you like this place and are in the Huntington Beach area, try that one. Friendly service, very flavorful dishes, we got the potato shrimp, boiled prime beef, xiaolongbao, spicy wonton, and fried string beans. This place hits HARD! Finally a Dumpling place that does it right. Everything was delicious. I am a Green Bean snob, and the Dry Fried Green Beans were absolutely amazing. I've grown up eating XLB and this place is still top notch and it won't break the bank. I've been coming here for a few months and loved it every time. We came here for lunch today and ordered the string beans, spicy pork wontons, orange chicken, and pan fried dumplings. The food was great. The ambiance was great. The service was lacking. The servers at the time of our visit felt that it was more important to plan their trip to beyond wonderland and talk about where they used to be servers and how much they made as a hot at Din Tai Fung compared to their current position. Wanted to try this place out as I've heard the Huntington Beach location is very popular. My friend and I ordered the cold clear noodles, dry fried green beans, fried rice, and Mapo tofu. The service was quick and the wait staff was very attentive whenever we asked for anything. It's a medium sized store so once it gets busy it may be hard to find seating. The cold clear noodles were amazing and one of our favorites of the night! Wouldn't have thought to order it before but now I can't wait to come back to have it again .The flavors of the dish work really well together and I will definitely be ordering them again. They are extremely slippery though, and I had to use a fork to eat them so make sure to ask for one! The green beans were pretty great too, but they do include Chinese black bean which I think added to the saltiness of the dish. If I were to order this again, I would ask them to not include the black beans. The fried rice was very flavorful and pretty tasty. The Mapo tofu was decent but a little too vinegary for my liking. Four dishes came out to around $50 which I think is reasonable. They give you a pretty big quantity of each dish as well. Excited to come back and try more dishes! read more

The service was some of the worst I've experienced in a long time. We were ignored when we first walked in, and once seated, it took forever to get someone's attention just to place our order. No updates, no check-ins, and before we could ask for to go boxes, they just gave us the bill. I had high hopes for this place because I'd heard the food was solid...and to be fair, it really was. Its super well lit and enough space for all kinds of parties. For the food, I ordered the Juicy Dumplings, Spicy Wonton, String Green Beans and their cucumber salad. I finally got seated and ordered the dumplings and pork buns. The dumpling tips were hard. The bottom was thin and it's very hard to grab with chopsticks. The bottom tore spilling the soup inside. I found this place to be great, with two dishes standing out to me. The XLB (xiao long bao), was fantastic. They were able to successfully wrap it in such a wat that the soup does not fall out (as it should). Secondly, the custard buns were a surprisingly tasty treat to have for desert, for its soft but slightly chewy texture. Food is excellent as always. They have a major staffing issue. They only have 2 servers, can't keep the restaurant clean. Plus you have to sign in on the iPad and it locked when you arrive and the 2 servers are too busy to assist. They are friendly but over worked. IF YOU NEED A JOB, APPLY, it would be ashamed if they lose customers due to poor service. We arrived with 6 dirty tables with no one able to clean and at 730 pm a female employee exited the building instead of helping. WHERE IS MGT? We ordered the beef roll (highly recommend), pork juicy dumplings, and the orange chicken (tasted fresh and yummy) to share with two people. Way too much food. My friend and I had the pleasure of eating at the Juicy Dumpling Factory today for the first time. We were pleasantly surprised at how tasty their dishes were. My friend had the Braised Beef Noodle Soup. She thought its flavor was exceptional and couldn't get over how tender the beef was where she said it literally melted in her mouth. I not being able to handle much spice has their very tasty Chicken Chow Mein which was delicious. The noodles in both of our dishes although different were very fresh. Made in house of course. I also ordered the Dry Fried Green Beans of which I consumed the entire healthy sized portion because they were just that good!! The servers were friendly and attentive quick to answer any questions we had. The ambiance was fresh, relaxed and comfortable. This was the first time I had tried this place. It just opened 3 weeks ago. I didn't expect it to be a sit down place where a server takes your order. I ordered chicken dumplings & a diet coke to go. I waited about 15 minutes for my food. The place was pretty busy. There was a good amount of seating with a mix of booths and chairs. Right now there's no way to order ahead online...you have to call. The dumplings were pretty good. They came with two different kinds of sauce. I will go back and try something different next time. We've ordered few times and are happy with the food always. But last night I called to try to pick up first thing today and they said they couldn't do the order over the phone for payment. So they advised us that we will either need to come in before they close tonight to order for next day and pay ahead, or just come first thing in the morning to order. Since it's my mother in law who needs to pick up first thing in the morning, so I went in last night with her to place the order. Paid, got a receipt and even had a time 11:20 AM for pick up. She called me at 11:55 AM today and she's furious because they didn't even have the order made. Due to some kind of communications error on their end? She said while she waited, she saw some dine in customers who came later than her got their food served? For sure not a happy customer today. read more
