Well this place what a treat! They were able to accommodate our large party of 13 individuals which was a mix of adults and children. Due to our large size we pre-ordered our food which made the process super easy when we arrived our food was basically almost ready which was amazing. I had the Ddeokbokki with cheese and ramen and it was dreamy and spicy! By the way the cheese and ramen was extra but it was totally worth it as I love both those things. My friends loved all their food in fact the portions were so large we ended up sharing a lot of our food with each other family style which was really nice. The Ambiance is very cozy and it's a family restaurant so please support their business everything was delicious fresh hot and ready I can't wait to go back next time I'm in the Union City area.

Ordered the Sweet and Mild Chicken to go. Person who took the order over the phone was pleasant and efficient. Arrived at the restaurant and it looked very nice from the outside. Picked up the order without hassle, very courteous service. The Sweet and Mild Chicken was very tasty, good amount of sauce. A bit overboard with the sesame seeds, in my opinion. The crunchiness was perfect. Definitely will order again.

Never gone out in this area and decided to look on Yelp for food spots and this popped up and it did not disappoint. Got the dragon roll which was good. Tastes just like any dragon roll. Chicken was crunchy and good flavor but a tad too sweet for me. A little bit of spice would have made it better. The combo tofu soup was packed with proteins. I always get medium but it could use a bit more heat. I'm always afraid to order spicy and then can't eat it because it's too spicy. But it was a great dinner. It is small inside so luckily it wasn't busy.

Food was good! The cali deluxe roll had a delicious unagi sauce and the teriyaki chicken was pretty standard. The fried chicken was crispy and tasty, the sauce was very sticky. Service was good and fast. Food came out really quick after ordering and everything was speedy. Store feels really modern and clean! I like the design of the booths on the side. It was pretty empty for a Saturday night but I definitely think this place deserves way more attention!

This is a K chicken. It is so delicious crispy sauces on point a little heat, but not overpowering.

The owners are truly amazing so welcoming so accommodating. The food is soooooooooo fabulous. The restaurant is decorated very tastefully a real hidden gem. I highly recommend this restaurant. Get there early. It gets busy.

I enjoyed this Korean Japanese fusion restaurant! It's located in an industrial area so easy to miss but once you're inside, there is ample seating and a big menu filled with Korean classics like tofu soup, kimchi pancake, bibimbap, and more. You can also get sushi rolls or ramen if that's more your cup of tea. We got banchan automatically as well. I liked the kimchi pancake and enjoyed the soup, but would have appreciated a little more flavor in the banchan and the flavors of the soup were just a tiny bit bland for my tastes (I may have also been dehydrated, which can affect tastebuds). But overall, everything tasted fresh, the portions were decent, and the service friendly. I would come here again for opportunities to try more dishes!

I heard Fish Day recently renovated and rebranded to K Kitchen and Fish Day. Previous version was very yummy so thought it would be worth a try. I visited on a Saturday during lunch time. STARS (stand out qualities) -customer service was one of the biggest stars. the owner-couple were so warm, responsive and helpful -local business owned by people of color -food was good quality AND quantity -food came out freshly made and hot -food presentation was nice -owners gave extra for certain banchan since we ate it quickly -reusable eatingware -beautiful interior dining area with booths and tables/chairs -clean bathroom -plenty of parking STAIRS (areas of growth) -recommend compostable or biodegradable large takeout boxes (they did have small compostable ones) -prices feel high to me but I think they are competitive Bay Area prices. Worth the price for all the stars above TIPS -prepare for cash payment if you want discounted prices -I recommend the Chive Seafood Jeon and Ddeokbokki and which was very flavorful and packed with good ingredients -bring friends, family and coworkers! Seems to be a hidden gem at the moment

I'm a little behind on my posts, but we stopped by K Kitchen, and it didn't disappoint. The restaurant is redone and has nice decor. We sat in a spacious, comfortable booth, but there are regular tables and the space can hold groups.  There is plenty of parking in the lot.  Our servers and, I think, the owners were really nice. They are super attentive but not overbearing. It was a really nice, relaxed yet accommodating experience. The food (we shared everything) 1. Soft Tofu Soup--it was super tasty. If you have never had soft tofu soup, try it. It's comforting and delicious. The only thing it was missing was an egg. If this soup had it five stars. 2. Soy garlic wings: very tasty, and they had a nice crunch. They weren't soggy. A little spice would have been great. The wings are a nice size but not overly big, so the chicken is tender.  3. Shrimp tempura--it was a nice starter.  4. Terra Beer: Crispy and Delicious  5. Banchan--this is one of my favorites. These are the little side dishes you get at most Korean restaurants.  We had a great experience and would definitely go back to support our Bay Area small businesses.

Fish Day got a complete makeover and now serves authentic Korean dishes alongside its Japanese sushi rolls, rice, and noodle dishes! As you park your car in this tiny strip, you wouldn't expect much in terms of food, however, you'll be in for a surprise. Located next to one of the oldest standing Dominos pizza in the area, you'll find K-Kitchen and Fish Day. When you step in, you'll be greeted with beautiful modern decor illuminated by warm and natural lighting. With plenty of booths and tables, your party of 2-4 will fit just fine. Any bigger parties may need to be open to split booths or adjust some free standing tables to fit you all. The dine in experience is the way to go but you can certainly order take out from the front register. Keep in mind that they offer a 4% cash discount. If you're here for lunch on a weekday, they have lunch specials that include an entree, salad, glass noodles, and rice for less than $20. It's a pretty decent deal and likely will fill you up for a meal, maybe two! We came on a weekend so we didn't take advantage of the deal but we did order a good number of traditional dishes to try. If you order an entree, you also get the side dishes (banchan) - we didn't know but the owners gave some for us to try anyway. Side dishes - good mix of vegetable dishes including potatoes, bean sprouts, kimchi, broccoli, and pickled radishes. Chive seafood jeon (seafood pancake) - 8 big slices and packed with ingredients! It came out hot and served with a dipping sauce. Good mix of vegetables and seafood bits. Ddeokbokki (rice sticks) - delicious! Combined with thin fish cakes and onions, this fragrant and spicy dish has a great mix of textures including the chewiness of the rice sticks and the sweet soft bites of the onions and the sauce soaking fish cakes. This dish goes well with rice, noodles, or bits from the pancake. Good hearty dish! Soy garlic chicken - 9 pieces of crispy chicken wings and drumsticks marinated in a soy and garlic sauce beautifully presented over a pile of fresh sliced cabbage. Great dish to share! Salmon lovers roll - salmon meets California roll. Solid roll, nothing fancy, just good and filling. Goon mandu/gyoza - we received a complimentary small tasting of their fried dumplings and they were so crispy and juicy! Paired well with the dipping sauce but held their own without it. The kids loved it. The owners provide exceptional service; in my old days training in the customer service, this would be referred to as "giving the pickle" - they definitely give the pickle. I am so proud to have an awesome pair of business owners operating a clean, welcoming Korean restaurant serving delicious authentic Korean dishes and crowd favorites for new and previous customers. Overall, you're looking to dine in at a Korean restaurant in the area, look no further. K-Kitchen will satisfy your belly and keep you coming back for more!

It's definitely not the old casual Fish Day in here.. it's a lot more fancier with the renovated interior and booth seating. The menu is more typical Korean restaurant dishes rather than the usual fried (but yummy) Fish Day menu that I was used to. K-chicken 5/5 - very very crunchy Lion King roll 3.5/5 - not bad, but also not remarkable Service 5/5 - very attentive and water refilled without having to ask Ambiance 5/5 Parking - plenty

The food was so fresh and tasty. Fish katsu was outstanding, you could taste how fresh it was. And I love that it came out piping hot. Kappa maki roll was a good starter. Food was made and delivered to the table so quickly. Perfect lunch time meal. And of course the performance was fantastic, who doesn't love lunch AND a show.

Really nice inside! The service is great and very friendly. We ordered tofu soup, k chicken and kimchi fried rice. The k chicken was amazing! Tofu soup was good too. The flavor is unique since they added carrots. Love this place! Can't wait to come back and try more food!

LENT 2024: FOURTH FRIDAY OF LENT…read more When this place first opened I used to go to this fish and chip joint about 4-5 times a year as there wasn't a lot of places in the East Bay at that time serving fish and chips. I always loved their fish but their fries not so much; the fish had that light, crispy breading whereas the fries were too soggy. Last Friday there were three places I considered to eat. I decided at the last minute to come to 101 Fish & Chips. I ordered a large combo that consisted of 2 pieces of fish and 4 shrimps along with fries. The fries I had in the past used to look flimsy. The fries I had at 101 Fish & Chips that day were crinkle-cut fries. I like the look of crinkle fries because they looked crispy. At 101 Fish & Chips the crinkle fries were crispy. The fish was moist while the breading maintained that light crispiness without being too oily as sometimes in the past. Then why didn't I give this place a higher rating? First the mozzarella sticks were a huge disappointment. They weren't fully cooked as the mozzarella wasn't melted as I was eating a stick of cold mozzarella stick. Second this place wasn't opened for customers to eat inside but only for take-out. I overheard the owner saying to a customer that place isn't opened to eat in during Lent but will open to dine in after Easter. Like what? This place could make more money on Fridays during Lent especially catering to Catholics who can only eat fish on Lent Friday. Since there are now quite of number of fish and chip joints in the East Bay I'm more willing to try those places.

A long-overdue review!…read more My husband and I had dinner here when it had just opened, almost seven years ago. Looking through old photos recently brought back memories, and I realized I never got around to sharing our experience. We had a wonderful time--the food was delicious, the service was great, and overall it was a very enjoyable dining experience. While I never made it back, my husband has visited a few times with friends and always had good things to say. The main reason we haven't returned as a family is because both of our boys (now adults) are allergic to seafood, and I usually prefer having them with us when we dine out. But after seeing these photos again, I think it's finally time for another visit and see if it's just as good as I remember!

Dear Manager, I…read morewould like to share my experience at your restaurant today. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the way I was treated by the host, Mirella. When I arrived, I politely asked for a table in an area that was clearly available. The restaurant was basically empty at the time, but Mirella gave me what appeared to be one of the worst tables in the restaurant. When I asked about getting a different table, her attitude toward me was rude and unwelcoming. I understand that restaurants have seating policies and that sometimes certain tables may be reserved, but I believe customers should still be treated with courtesy and respect. In this situation, I felt that I was treated unnecessarily poorly, especially considering that there were plenty of other tables available. I am not writing this complaint to cause trouble for anyone. I simply believe management should be aware of how customers are being treated. I hope you can look into this situation and make sure that guests are welcomed and treated respectfully regardless of which table they request. Thank you for taking the time to hear my concern. And by the way the food and the server were great Except the host Mirella Thank you

The vibe is awesome, they have a great bar area with a couple of TVs playing sports, and the music was definitely bumping. The staff was incredibly nice and super attentive to our table the entire night. Food-wise, this spot doesn't miss a beat. One of the best surprises was that they offer fresh crawfish, which is pretty rare to find at most seafood boil places. Everything we ordered was packed with flavor, and the garlic fries were amazingly good. Honestly, this boil spot isn't lacking a single thing. Whatever they are doing, they need to keep it up! This has easily jumped to the top of my list as one of my absolute favorite seafood boil spots.

My party arrived around 6:38 PM and added our name to the waitlist for dinner. While waiting, it became increasingly clear that more than half of the dining room had already finished their meals. Many tables appeared to be staying simply to watch the soccer match on the TVs. I completely understand wanting to enjoy the game, but at the same time there were 4-5 parties waiting for tables, with groups of various sizes. This raises an important question: at what point does management step in to balance hospitality with serving waiting guests? While no one should be rushed through their meal, when tables have clearly finished dining and a long wait is building, there should be some effort to manage table turnover during peak dinner hours. After waiting about 45 minutes with no indication that seating would happen anytime soon, we decided to leave and eat elsewhere. Ironically, we didn't receive the text that our table was ready until 8:07 PM--nearly an hour and a half after we first checked in. The food may be great, but based on this experience, the waitlist management left a lot to be desired. I hope Backyard Bayou reviews how they handle busy nights and finds a better balance between accommodating guests who want to linger and serving the many customers waiting to dine.

If I remember correctly, they get some of their seafood locally, from Pillar Point Harbor, by Half Moon Bay. Other fish come from farther afield but quality and cost control is reasonable given the fact that seafood is expensive. I've never been led astray. Order at the counter, find a seat, and food will be delivered to your table. Never had their pasta before. Finally tried their fettuccine. Instead of Alfredo sauce, substituted with butter sauce. Selected shrimp with crab. OMG! So good. Pasta was perfectly al dente. Hate mushy pasta. This pasta was fully cooked but still had texture. The butter sauce was generously studded with garlic. Shrimp were large and plump. Fully cooked but not rubbery at all. Next time, will skip the crab which disintegrated into the sauce. Go all shrimp or maybe try with fish. The fried clam strips appetizer was a huge portion and totally unnecessary. The fettuccine was enough of a meal by itself. In fact, was so full after the clams, took most of the fettuccine home. Even as leftovers, the shrimp and fettuccine was so delicious for dinner the next day. To cap it off, staff from the head chef to the cashier/server were so friendly and helpful.
