The food was SO. GOOD. We've lived practically around the corner for 2 years and finally decided to order take out (due to Covid, otherwise would have eaten in; more on that later). We ordered the mixed dip plate, the Grilled Meat Special with salad, an extra side of biryani rice, and sesame bread. The grilled lamb & beef were so flavorful, only a tiny bit of fat, and a very good portion size. We loved the biryani rice, it was was spiced differently than an Indian biryani I've had (and in my opinion, better). But we were blown away by the dip plate, especially the Iraqi Eggplant Salad and Baba Ganoush - they had me googling recipes after the first bite. It was HUGE and I can't wait to dig In to the leftovers. We plan on this becoming our go-to when have to bring food for gatherings, it came with 4 gigantic breads and would keep really well in the fridge. Overall, we will DEFINITELY be back - all we could say to each other while eating was how delicious everything was. Now it was a Saturday night right after the holidays, and looked pretty busy inside - which we should have paid more attention to, because our only downside is that the server who helped the host to take our order said "we can wait right there and she'd bring it over to us" obviously got caught up with her tables, and it sat on the counter for 20 min going cold without us knowing when to come back. The host & manager were gracious and got us a new order of the mixed meat, and I'm so glad they did - the new one was much more moist and better represented the high quality of their food. Next time we order to-go, we'll choose something easier to reheat (and that amazing dip platter), and we'll save the grilled kebabs for when we can safely dine-in. read more

I'm pretty nit picky when it comes to middle eastern cuisine as I grew up with it but this place is easily my favorite in San Antonio. Disclaimer: it is not the cheapest dining experience but quality and taste is far and above anything I've had in San Antonio, meats were prepared and grilled on charcoal flame for added authenticity and seasoned to perfection. Also very generous portions usually most places skimp out on the meat quantity and size I actually had to ask for a plate to go it was very hearty. Bread was fresh out of the oven and included variety of dipping sauces my favorite was the Iraqi Eggplant which looking at the picture i wouldn't have ever ordered it but after trying it I'm absolutely convinced. Biriyani Rice was just okay I'd avoid paying extra for it. Just didn't have the flavor and polish of everything else on the menu. read more

The food was great. Service is not good. Everything you ask for they charge. The lady who served us has very long nails and grabbing the bread with her bare hands. This is one of the few restaurants open until 11pm. The restaurant was packed at 10pm. I had the hot potatoes as appetizer and the chicken tikka sandwich. The potatoes are cut in cubes, are flash fried, with garlic and cilantro and other spices. Absolutely delicious combination of flavors. The bread was a flat bread and the chicken tikka was rolled in with sesame sauce and pickle. The chicken was marinated in tikka paste, was charbroiled and very moist. Delicious piece of chicken. As a free appetizer I got a piece of freshly baked flat bread with a Za'atar based dipping sauce. Great flavors. Will return. read more

****POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE***** Horrible service. It took them 1.5 hours to get our 3 dinner orders. Upon asking why is it getting late we are asked to wait "just" wait for 5 minutes. Other tables get served who came In later and they just don't know nor care. The owner comes in with no response, and does not care to help in the situation. If you guys don't know how to manage visitor traffic then close down or increase your staff. You added gratuity for making us wait for our food?!!, completely unprofessional, worst customer service. Never recommend this place. Update: so now the owner is guessing what went wrong and expect we should return; without much incentive? Let me tell you the 18% gratuity that you charged us does not live up to that. Sorry, if you don't see my large family visit again. I give 5 stars for my char-grilled chicken. My friend did not like their gyro. The rice had some sweetness to it not a fan, but 1 star is for service so had to give a middle rating. I went into the restaurant and nobody attended me. They were really rude. I asked some girl in back like is anyone here. She' like my manager will be with you which was a blatant lie. She ignored me 1st time reluctant to even get up. No one was ever going to come to me. Apparently they have a store right next to them that I am supposed to go through & pick up my order after reading some note on the wall. I've often ordered the kabab platter ($80) when I have guests because the meats and grilled tomatoes are great as were the grilled onions. (We always immediately tossed all of the soggy grilled potatoes.) Last time, the platter came with lots of potatoes but no grilled onions. So when I called today, I asked specifically to cut the potatoes and add more grilled onions. I was told it doesn't come with grilled onions, but I could order them extra. I asked if they could throw on some grilled eggplant and peppers, expecting them to increase the price some. This Mediterranean restaurant did not have either eggplant or peppers! Fortunately, they always had enough bread and hummus to snack on the next day. However, they did increase the price this year and took away the grilled onions. They've never offered any sauces, so when my guests arrive, I'll be busy grilling onions, peppers and eggplant and making my own tzatziki sauce, garlic sauce, and Hibiscus mint tea. It's a lot of work you would normally get from a take-out restaurant that has such positive reviews. read more

I've been here two times thus far, and I definitely plan on coming back. The food is so great - literally the best Middle Eastern cuisine I've had in San Antonio. Both times I've visited this establishment I've ordered the family platter and the falafel plate and I'm so very pleased. Huge portions and the complimentary bread is amazing. My first visit the service was pretty great, the second time though it was lacking a bit. I think both of the servers on the floor were both new, as I had to keep asking them for the same things - plates, napkins, and water. Not to mention the poor kid spilled water all over the table. I love this little place! We went tonight and had THE smorgasbord of Mediterranean fare. Started with the appetizer sampler. That hummus and the labneh was spot on. Our super nice server brought us a giant round, flat bread and it was a perfect dipping buddy in the oil. I had the beef tikka and my husband had the chicken tikka with salad. We ended with a perfect baklava that wasn't greasy or overly sweet. It's a good thing I can't eat a ton. I would have stuffed myself silly. Soooo good. Thanks for a great meal! Just tried this place for the first time and I am absolutely drooling over the meal I just ate. The baba ghanouj was scrumptious. The bread was warm and so delicious. I ordered the beef kebab which was perfectly prepared. The Arayees was slightly spicy, but definitely not enough to overwhelm its flavor. The beef Shawarma was slightly sweet and definitely worth ordering again. Wait staff is extremely friendly and the restaurant was very clean. I'm coming back very soon! read more

The biryani was not their strongest suit, so I would recommend ordering bread like naan instead. My family and I ordered the family platter for $40 with lamb kabobs, which was very flavorful. We also got a small pot of black tea with cardamom, which was good. The service was very good, as our waiter came to check up on us several times. The waiting time for the food was 15-20m, but that was most likely because we ordered such a large plate. There's a lot of parking space available and a large seating space. Worst place we have ever dined in in the history of dinning. We sat down and waited for a waitress for 15 minutes to take our order(keep in mind there are 3 tables only). ordered lamp chops waited 50 minutes then we decided to finally ask what's going on with our food only to hear lies the waitress blamed it on the other waitress and the cook blamed it on the manager bottom line is it's 11pm and there is nowhere else to eat, and our food is not on the grill yet we were asked if we still want our food or if we want our check. One of the best 'Middle Eastern, Mediterranean' restaurants in San Antonio. The grilled meats (ground beef, ground chicken, and chicken kabob) were moist and very flavorful. The hummus was to die for and the service was top notch. The only place close to this is 'Mr. ChickPea' which recently opened up, but I would drive to Kababchi Grill in a heart beat; nicer / bigger establishment, OUTSTANDING service and overall better flavors.
