Came here after a long roadtrip looking for somewhere to eat that stayed open late. I had never had Mediterranean food before, and was quite excited to try something new. I ordered the Chicken Tikka with rice, and it was very flavorful. The portions were very filling and satisfying as well. Interestingly, they also seem to share the building with the cafe next door, so I ordered some caramel latte boba tea, which was also very good. So, my boyfriend and i were in the mood for falafel and gyros a couple weeks ago... we were not disappointed A few days ago I was in the mood for biryani, shawarma and and Arayees so I DoorDashed it. once again, not disappointed You can guess where I'm coming with this, can't you? Have been wanting to try this place for a while, but for some reason, we've just not made it over... wow, we've been missing out! The service was excellent, the atmosphere very cool. My wife and I always just share food, so the waitress just brought us extra plates for everything. Very smart.. The food was excellent! And we could actually see it all cooking from their glasses grilling area. The waitress was awesome and we felt as if we had known her for years because of how friendly and open she was. Overall, I was disappointed with my experience at Kebabchi Grill. My expectations were high based on the restaurant's high rating. I ordered my food to go. The order I placed was for the dolmas, hummus with pita, chicken tikka sandwich, and a side of the biryani rice. My total was about $23. Let's start with the positives: 1) the pita bread was fresh and tasty. 2) I also liked the biryani rice. It was well seasoned and really fragrant. 3) The staff was also friendly. On to the negatives: 1) the chicken in my sandwich was very chewy and difficult to bite through without making a big mess. I also didn't care for the flavor. It was overly sweet. 2) The hummus was awful. It's pretty hard to mess up hummus, but they did somehow. It was extremely bitter and tasted strongly of bad olive oil. 3)The dolmas weren't terrible, but were certainly unremarkable. They also came with some of the palest, saddest looking tomatoes I've ever seen! I really wanted to like this place, but sadly I don't think I'll be back. Second time dining at this restaurant, and still amazed with their food. Started out with the hummus; it was fantastic. It was creamy, oh so tasty, with a superb olive oil layered over the top. And then there was the pita bread. So good! We asked for another piece after we scarfed up the first and still had half the hummus on the plate. My wife ordered the gyro with tomato and rice, I had the grilled meat special with lamb and beef. Again, fantastic. Tasty, the rice was perfect, the flavors subtle. Unlike a lot of the restaurants we've visited lately, I was not immediately overwhelmed with salt. Delicate and well seasoned flavors, tender meat, oh so good. Then, to cap it off, our sever brought two more pita breads, even though we didn't ask. What we did ask for, was a serving of hummus to take home. He brought out two. We had to take a lot of food home, as we had stuffed ourselves with the hummus and first two pita breads. Rest assured, the leftovers will be gone by tomorrow night. Another point in their favor: there was some traditional music. It was very easy on the ears, and the volume was just right. We could appreciate the music, but could still chat without raising our voices, something we often find impossible in a lot of other restaurants. The ambience here is incomparable to other Mediterranean grills. It's chic and sophisticated, and they have windows into the kitchen showing whatever delicious food is on the grill at the moment. This is a good place for dates or groups. The food I had was just mediocre. While the pita bread is above average, the lamb and beef on the mixed grill special are tough and hard to chew. The bread on the gyro wrap is dry. The salad that comes with the entrees was my least favorite part, because the dressing on the salads tastes like a generic store-bought Italian dressing, and not something made in house and unique to this restaurant. read more

My wife and I went to this restaurant for lunch. Walking in, we loved the window showing all of the meats and some tomatoes roasting on the charcoal fire grill in the front of the restaurant. We loved the simple modern decor and cleanliness overall. The menus selections from appetizers, entrees down to the desserts and beverages was diverse and everything looked delicious. I ordered the gyro plate and my wife ordered the chicken kabob combo. We ordered the mixed dip appetizer to start with. All of the dips with the appetizer were fresh and flavorful. We got a piece of huge warm fresh flat bread to dip. Our entrees were seasoned perfectly and perfectly cooked and scrumptious. The amount of food we were served had us with plenty to take home. I didn't finish my sandwich because right away I noticed the chicken was really dry. I could have powered thru the dry chicken, but there was no tomato or pickles in there either. I'm pretty sure they forgot it since the menu says it's included in their sandwich. My bf said his chicken shwarma sandwich tasted okay- meat was cooked just right. I'll try to give this place another try and tell them about my disappointing first encounter. The fries it comes with is nice since it's the seasoned kind. I just ate that with the toom. This place was referred to us as the premier kebab spot in town. Sorry to say but it is definitely NOT. I have to disclose that I am of Perisan Armenian descent. I am from San Francisco with relatives in Los Angeles so I know what kebab is all about. I even make and cook kebab for the church bazaar for the past decade, so trust me when I say this place is lacking a lot. My son and I ordered the ground beef kebab plate and my wife and other son ordered the combo (one ground beef and one ground chicken) plate. First off, the beef was dry and lacked flavor, I tried a piece of my wife's plate and the chicken was much tastier and moister than the beef. The rice was plain and dry as well. The tabouli was all greens and hardly any wheat. The Hummus was thick and pasty, definitely not homemade or if it was not enough oil was used. Secondly, the service was horrible. The girl serving us was running around too much. She looked like a crazy person! There was one guy (must've been the manager) who was yelling commands to the other waitstaff and busboys and running around himself. It looked foolish to me. It seems to make up for the lack of service, they keep bringing out flatbreads to appease you. They need to seriously hire more people to work there so there is no running around like a stressed out amateur. To get one's attention required effort, no one ever came by to ask how we were after our food came. I was not impressed at all especially because I was told this was the best place to go for great kebab. What we ate was basic kebab. Absolutely nothing special and because of the lack of service I will not be going back. Two stars only because the food was edible. I expect much more from my kebab places. read more

Wanted to try this place since I moved to this side of town and I wasn't disappointed! The restaurant looks clean and you can tell their meats are cooked fresh off the grill. There's a window that you can see them grilling the meats. My friends and I all shared the family platter $55 or so. It comes with salad and hummus dip that is shareable. There was 5 of us and we all shared and it was more than enough. Also, u know this place is authentic and good when u see a lot of middle easterners come eat here..that's when u know they know what's really good. Service was a bit slow, had to wait for a bigger table on a busy sat night...had to ask for water and the waitress never asked us if we wanted any drinks lol but that's ok..in the end the food was good. I found this place because of an email sent by Yelp. I read the reviews some positive some negative. After looking at the menu on their website, I decided to come and see for myself since I was going to be in the area. We were greeted in a friendly way and seated promptly. The waitress took our order and was nice too. She came back with some naan. The bread was warm and soft. Our order arrived quickly and tasted fresh and hot. Ok so....bad news first. I would not recommend the special mixed grill plate which has 1 beef skewer and 1 lamb skewer. What was supposed to be an entree for me turned into a side dish because I could not eat it. Meat was so chewy and definitely not what you would expect. I have eaten Mediterranean food from different cities in different states. This meat is usually to die for because of spices and tenderness but this was a disaster. NOW... the good part (and reason for the stars that I gave) was mixed dip platter which has multiple dip samples including hummus, baba ghanouj, iraqi eggplant and few others. They were all delicious and assorted very nice, it came with a side of fresh naan bread. We also got the grilled meat special (5/5) which consisted of beef and lamb. It was deliciously tender and moist. You could bite into the meat chunks easily and without much resistance. It comes with a side and fresh naan bread!
