KASTNER HONDA IS OWNED AND OPERATED BY THE BIGGEST CROOKS IN THE BUSINESS!!!! THEY WILL ROB YOU EVERY WAY THEY CAN!!!! Read on to hear why. This is long but it's worth it if you are looking to buy from anyone. NOTE: If they have done this to you, let your lawyer know he/she needs to check with the Federal Trade Commission. Reports on them, including mine, are there and will help in court. :) Feel free to contact me also. We can get them together! I financed a truck from these guys and gave them a trade-in. The suspension on the trade-in failed a few months before and I replaced it all ($3500 job). I would keep the car but I just had our second baby the month prior and needed something bigger. I told them the suspension was newly replaced in hopes it would help them get good money for it when they resold it. My husband got laid off before they got us approved for the loan. Kastner Honda told us to lie to the finance company about it so they would approve us anyway. We refused. Kastner found out that we told the finance company the truth. They threatened to CALL THE POLICE ON US and report the truck stollen if we didn't call the finance company back and say that he didn't really lose his job, that "we were just trying to get out of the loan" (buyers remorse they called it). We refused. I knew that if the finance company found out he really did lose his job during the application process, and we lied about it, they could take the vehicle from us and cancel the loan. Then we wouldn't have a car at all. Without any notice of any kind Kastner Honda came and repossessed our truck on the 11th day and refused to give our trade-in back to us. They said they paid off our loan on it early and now they own it. NOTE: The finance contract states in plain English that if the dealership is unable to get you financed within 10 days and did not submit the failure and request the vehicle back in writing within that time, they cannot reclaim the vehicle. That means they are responsible for giving you the loan out of their own pockets with the same terms in the original contract. IT ALSO STATES that if the contract is terminated for any reason within that 10 day period all money down and ANY TRADE-IN received is to be returned to the customer. NOT GIVE YOU THE VALUE OF THE TRADE AND NOT A COMPARABLE VEHICLE BUT THE ACTUAL TRADE! They don't own anything until the loan is approved by the finance company; just like you don't own the financed vehicle until it's approved either. The finance contract in it's entirety is void as though nothing ever happened. Everyone takes their property back and that's the end of it. Since they don't own it, they can't repair it, pay it off, sell parts off or even let people test drive. If they put miles on it, they are responsible for the mileage just like you are responsible for the mileage you put on their vehicle. I threatened to have them just deal with my lawyer and they agreed to release my vehicle to me. HERE IS THE EXTRA COOL PART: They made me go all the way back up to Napa from where I live in San Mateo to get my car. When they took the truck they left me, my husband and my two infants car-less and they knew it. Once I got there with the car I had to rent, it was obvious they damaged the car. The smell of the burned clutch was stronger than I have ever smelled in my life because they burned it ON PURPOSE!! I smelled it for two and a half weeks even after driving it all the way back from Napa!!!!! You can't burn a clutch that bad by accident. Normally if you burn it real badly it goes away in a day or two, maybe three if you are a complete idiot. What they did was ridiculous!! When I got the car home I had it inspected and it turns out they bent the floorboards up a couple inches into the cabin lifting it with their shop lifts because they didn't use the lift points. (I sent a friend to their dealership to take a pic of the pads on their shop lifts and the print detail matched perfectly. Thank god for undercarriage spray :) Gotcha guys!!) This is not a mistake ANY mechanic makes (not even the teenagers at JiffyLube) so this was, also, obviously on purpose. And just for good measure, they made sure that all four BRAND NEW suspension shocks were blown. Nice touch guys. ;) The owner (who I'm sure makes his living doing things this way and knew to stay out of communication with me so he could claim in court he was unaware though I was told he was on three-way once), his son Bill Kastner, who is the manager (and who made sure the car was destroyed personally, which I know because as soon as I smelled the clutch I asked him who burned it and he gladly announced he had done it even though he knows perfectly well how to drive a stick) and the sales rep Dana Perez who personally relayed the message, with his own threatening twist, they intended to call the police on us if we didn't lie to the finance company ARE ALL THE BIGGEST CROOKS!!! I just finished buying a 2016 Honda Odyssey Touring Minivan from Adam Kane at Kastner Honda and this auto shopping experience went a lot better than what I expected and all because of the treatment and upfront pricing that I received from Adam. After doing research online and trying to navigate through a confusing process of compering models and quotes, I was definitely not looking forward into going to a dealership and fighting to get the best offer from a salesperson (after hearing horror stories from other family members who had had bad purchasing experiences at other dealerships). Immediately after entering information in Truecar.com, I started receiving emails and calls from different internet sales reps including Adam but surprising Adam's communications were friendly, polite and reassuring. They just didn't seem aggressive or scripted like others. I was very pleased to meet Adam who was very knowledgeable about the Honda Odyssey EX-L that I was initially looking at. He answered all my questions, explained all the features and buttons on the Odyssey and allowed me to take it for a test drive that really allowed me to fall in love with the EX-L model. He also explained the other models but was not pushy in trying to sell me a higher model. I asked him to give me a basic quote for the model that I was looking and then a separate one with a few added accessories, so that I could really compare the price difference and Adam happily agreed to do so and did so in writing--not just verbally (including a last minute quote for the higher model--the Touring). I kind of wanted to prove to my husband that the higher models were going to be too expensive for us to consider but surprisingly the difference was not substantial and made it a viable contender. Adam explained the financing options they had and help me visualize what my monthly payment would be at different rates, so I found this extremely helpful, especially when everything was in writing; nothing hidden or sneaky. I was upfront with Adam and told him that I would not be buying a minivan that day as I was still researching makes and models, yet this did not make him change his attitude towards me. He was still friendly, informative and genuine. I walked out of his office feeling really happy and pleased with the offers I received. I immediately felt comfortable with Adam and new that I would certainly consider coming back to do business with him. Ironically by the next day, I did exactly that after having visited 4 other local dealerships where my initially sentiments about car dealerships and salesmen were confirmed. Kastner/Adam was able to match and beat the competitor's price and I got the Touring Odyssey for less than the original price they had given me at the start but with a few added accessories that really made the difference. I definitely felt like I got an excellent deal and all my interactions with all the staff at Kastner were nice and pleasant. Kudos, too, to the sales manager, Solomon Wilson, who was willing to work his magic to make sure the numbers exactly matched the text quote that I got from Adam and who gave us good and honest advice on the trade-in value of my 2000 Ford Expedition. He couldn't give us what we wanted for our trade-in SUV, so he recommended we try selling it on Craigslist and if not successful within 2 weeks, we could still bring it back and get his trade-in offer. I was impressed with this offer as I don't think many sales managers would have done this. The financing piece was probably my least favorite part of this long process but not because I got bad service; it's just because you know you're signing your life into a very long-term commitment and this was very scary for me. Mike B (the finance manager), was also very friendly and extremely patient with me after I got last minute jitters before signing on the red line. He gave me time to make some last minute calls, so that I could feel at ease and worked with me in explaining everything. I am truly grateful that I ended up working with an amazing salesperson, Adam Kane, and I will, without a doubt, HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend Adam and Kastner Honda to any of my friends and colleagues! I walked into Kastner Honda a month ago planning to take a look only. I'd had my eye on a different make and model, but the new Accord body style, and its great reputation for quality and reliability, made Honda my first stop. Plus, I live in Napa and liked the idea of buying local. Adam was the first to help me, sitting patiently in the rear seat (my daughter was with me) while I test drove first the 1.5T Accord, and then the 2.0T. He knew that car inside and out, explaining all of the tech and safety gadgets it had while I zipped along country roads testing the car's responsiveness and handling. He patiently moved cars in the rear lot to unbury a CRV so I could test drive it just to make sure I could rule it out. And then moved more cars to bring out a sexy red 2.0T I had my eye on. This guy answered lots of questions, and took many rides. After all that, the metallic red Accord 2.0T Touring model, top of the line, is what I wanted. (The 1.5 was too gutless for me.) Then because Adam had an appointment, I was handed over to Jason, who in a calm friendly effortless way managed to get for me an amazing trade-in price for my old car, and an unheard-of sales price on the new car, which out the door was $5,000 less than the starting sticker price. Obviously they must make money on manufacturer incentives for sales volume or something, because they certainly didn't make much from my sale. I told Jason I still wanted to test drive the other make I was looking at and wouldn't be buying this car today. He understood, allowed me to test drive the car once more before I left (knowing it would clinch the sale, I'm sure, as this car sells itself), and I told him I'd call him the following day. After test driving an SUV the following day I was torn. These vehicles were apples and oranges. But I couldn't find the trim level I wanted on the SUV, and I searched a hundred mile radius. So I figured the Honda was meant for me considering it literally fell into my lap at the perfect price, the perfect look (very attractive car) and great performance. I bought it. Fernando was very mellow and warm and walked me smoothly through the sales paperwork. Tech pro Adam linked my cell phone to the car, set up my home info in the navigation system, showed me the bells and whistles, and they sent me on my way. And the next day I had buyer's remorse! I freaked out a little wondering if an SUV was more what I was looking for. I went into Kastner to bring them the pink slip to my old car, and I told Jason I was freaking out a little about my choice. He commiserated, though he probably thought I was crazy, and sent me in to speak to Solomon, who in a warm friendly funny way sort of talked me off the ledge. And I'm so glad he did. I've been driving this fun zippy car for a month now and absolutely love it and all of its features. It is so the right car for me, and I can't believe I considered giving it up. During my conversation with Solomon, he talked at length about their no-pressure sales style when I shared with him stories of some of the "douchy" types of salespeople I had encountered at other dealerships, and it's absolutely true when they say they have a no-pressure sales style. Every person I encountered at Kastner was friendly, warm, helpful, and (thankfully) patient. I was told that Kastner likes selling to locals, and it's clear they went out of their way to give me a good deal. I would recommend this dealer to everyone. As a loyal customer of Kastner Honda for the past three years, I must express my disappointment with the recent service I received. On June 15th, 2023, at 8:00 am, I arrived for my scheduled service, expecting the usual warm greeting and a brief wait before assistance, understanding that there are other customers and paperwork to handle. The representative at the desk was friendly but seemed unaware of the "Fall Season Special," which typically includes essential services like an oil change and tire rotation and more. To my surprise, he stated that such a special didn't exist and appeared confused. I didn't press the issue and accepted individual charges for the the main services, totaling upwards to $230. This was unusual, as previous car maintenance had been significantly less expensive. I can't help but wonder if this was a sales tactic to encourage additional spending, which would be misleading as they had promoted the special on their website and I only left doing my Oil change that day! I left my car at the dealership for the day, and fortunately, they provided me with a loaner car, which was appreciated. The representative who assisted me didn't provide his name on any paperwork. He later texted me around 12:00 pm to inform me that my car was ready, and I paid for the service via text message. I mentioned my satisfaction with the loaner vehicle and expressed interest in the 2023 Honda Accord, at which point he mentioned someone else would call me regarding it. Although I did receive a call, I was unable to take it due to other commitments. When I returned to pick up my vehicle, I had an unpleasant experience with the Sales Manager, Wayne Tarlton. This wasn't the first time I encountered his rude and pushy sales approach, showing little concern for customer service. He approached me, aware of my interest in the 2023 Accord, and relentlessly tried to sell me the car even though I hadn't yet gathered enough information or intended to make an on-the-spot decision. Despite my repeated statements that I would come back later, he focused solely on closing the deal, exhibiting a lack of understanding for my preferences. I did request a business card, thinking of returning to the dealership, but specifically to deal with Benny, who had provided excellent customer service during my initial car purchase. Wayne, however, demonstrated an unprofessional attitude by carelessly throwing his business card on the counter instead of handing it to me directly, further highlighting his unsuitability for a sales position. After reaching out to Ryan Hemming to express my experience, I did receive a call back from another manager named Soloman, but the voicemail conveyed a lack of concern and no apologies. I can't help but feel that since the dealership was bought out, the focus has shifted to prioritize profits over customer satisfaction. Despite my long-standing relationship with Kastner has been ruined from this experience. If you're in the market for a car or require automotive service, I recommend considering alternatives like CarMax or other auto services in the area. Based on my recent encounter, their experiences are likely to be more positive and cost-effective. read more

Just signed documents with Kastner Honda and I must say I definitely recommend coming here if you're interested in any new vehicles, especially as a first time buyer! After calling several dealerships and being informed that the vehicle I was interested in wasn't available in the color I was looking for, I called Kastner Honda for a final try and was able to speak with this wonderful gentleman named Wayne over the phone. Wayne took the time to answer all of my questions and was able to find the vehicle I was looking for in the color I wanted. Upon arrival at the dealership, we were greeted by this kind man named Ricardo, who took the time to show us a similar vehicle while we were waiting and addressed any questions/concerns that we had. We were then personally introduced to Wayne, and I must say he really came through and pulled some strings for us because I was able to get the deal I was looking for. He was very patient, and constantly kept checking in to see if we were doing okay while we were waiting for our documents. Even though the dealership had closed, the team at Kastner Honda was very patient with us and stayed behind to allow us to finish our paperwork. Wayne was constantly coming over to check and ensure that we were as comfortable as possible. Jorge was also very pleasant. He took the time to explain the documents that I would be signing, and made the process very efficient. Although my vehicle had to be brought over from another dealership that was a few hours away, Kastner Honda had it ready for me the very next afternoon! It was washed, cleaned, and ready to go. Finally, Wayne also took the time to show and explain the new features that my vehicle came with and assisted me with setting everything up properly. I just want to thank the team at Kastner Honda, especially Wayne, for being so patient and flexible with their time. I am officially a first time owner thanks to them and I couldn't be happier. Kastner Honda treated me fairly without any of the high pressure sales pitching. I had inquired online about a vehicle I was interested in. Not too long afterward, I received a call from Wayne. We had a brief discussion about the car and another possibility they had in inventory. Wayne seemed to answer all my questions straight up and without pressure. I left work early and picked up my wife to drive about 50 miles to see what they had. After a couple of test drives, we started the negotiation. There were no hassles, or painful haggling back and forth. We negotiated a deal, and were moved to see Fernando, in finance. There we discussed warranty options etc. Typically this is high drudgery, however, we were not subjected to high pressure sales of dealer add-ons. We received explanations of what is available and all our questions were answered thoroughly. We were content with the process and drove off with the car. Between Wayne, Fernando and the sales manager, Solomon, we accomplished what we were not looking forward to having to do. The discussions were light and we actually joked around and had a little fun while doing it. The next day, I noticed a couple issues regarding the window molding and how it sealed around the back windows. It took a couple weeks but I was able to get my car in for a service where they pulled out the old door seals and replaced them for me without any problems or hassles. Drew and Miguel were very professional and took care of ordering the parts, scheduling the appointment and getting the work done. The final job looked perfect and we were very satisfied with the outcome. Firstly, let me start by saying that I live in the world of being judged by online reviews for the work I do in the hospitality industry, which often means that reality isn't always reflected when feedback is given in the online world of social media. This preface is to offer the insight into why I can only see our family returning to kastner time and time again. The reason I say this can only be backed up by facts, not a slanted view that is bias either positive or negative. Here is the breakdown. We had a 2011 accord on lease that was coming to an end in February, so decided to start looking for its replacement. The afternoon drive to Kastner ended up with a really pleasant discussion with Terry McClain, who was very informative about ways to look at ending our lease early and starting a new lease in the 2014 accord sport model. Dana Perez and Ric Rosa worked their magic to get us the price we wanted and made the trade in and transfer of our old Honda an absolute breeze. I have never had such a pleasant experience when walking into a dealership. With qualities like these, it is no surprise to see why they are still in business and not relying on the bait and switch that other dealers rely on. You can look around and search for a deal online or travel out of town, when in truth, you have the best right on your door step. Go have a chat with them and you will know that you have found the right place... Benny Veneracion at Kastner was the reason my husband was finally comfortable enough to stay and listen to what he had to say about a car we were interested in. We actually arrived on a busy Sunday afternoon, quickly spotted the car we wanted. It was the end of a long weekend of searching for my husband and I and an even longer day for Benny who was already there 3 hours later than he had planned. He suggested we make an appointment with him and come back together the following week. That was the kicker for my husband. He liked that he could leave without buying a car, with no pressure from a salesman. When we came back the following week, the meeting was quick and painless, my husband jumped without hesitation, on the AMAZING deal Benny was able to put together for us! We now own a beautiful 2014 Honda CRV with only 30,000 miles on it. Everyone at Kastner was genuine and very courteous and comfortable to be around. I'm telling you peeps, this is the place to go to buy your cars! And bonus, it's a Honda, they last forever!! Our mechanic Mark, sole proprietor of Zeller's Auto gave us 3 makes of cars that he sees the least in his shop and Honda was on the list. Best place to buy a Honda in the Napa and north bay area. NO pressure, good pricing, honest beyond belief. Jim Tschida took great care of my 79 year old mother, who lives on the pennisula, on her very first new car purchase. Didn't rush through any of the quotes or documents. Made her feel comfortable and respected. Now here's the honest beyond belief part: Mom traded in here '93 Explorer as part of the Clunker program. She purchased a Honda Element. The MPG difference between the trade in and the new car establishes the refund amount. Using the government website, Mom received a $3500 credit because the fuel mileage difference between the two vehicles was not over 8 MPG. A month after the transaction, Jim calls my mom to inform her that she in fact qualified for a $4500 credit becasue both her vehicles are now, and should have been previously, considered SUV's. Kastner Honda called to inform us that they would be sending a check for $1000 !!! How many new car dealerships would call you a month after your purchase to send you money ?? ONE. I've purchased 10 new vehicles of which seven were Honda's or Acura's. None of my previous experiences come close in terms of customer service, honesty and ease. read more

This dealership has recently changed locations to 282 Soscol Ave. in Napa. I was unaware of this dealership even though I live fairly close in Vallejo. I was in the market for a new vehicle and we narrowed it to the Honda CR-V. I used Tru-car.com which i also highly recommend they gave me three dealerships with my specifications. Rick from there internet sales department call with an amazing out the door price, which i took as a sale gimmick. I went to the dealership in Vallejo from which i have purchased a car in the past. I told their salesman what Rick had said after speaking with their sales manager he came back and said that price is impossible. I called Kastner Honda back they assured me they could do that price out the door. We dealt with Adam Kane when we arrived, had a great test drive then Adam did some work and said I cannot get you that price out the door I can do a 100 dollars better. Then he came back with a great Honda finance rate. We was so pleased that we spent our saved amount on extras Mike Bray finance manager explained everything and made it easy understand. I can tell you that Solomon Wilson sales manager has a great staff that made car buying a pleasure something I never thought i would say. read more

I purchased a vehicle in November I gave them 23,000 dollars down. I have no paperwork for my vehicle I was over charged and refunded the amount over charged but without the tarp on the amount I was over charged. I have been asking for my paperwork for over a month and I have made 1 car payment and still no paperwork for the initial car purchase this car deal was very shady to say the least with a lot of wrong doing and bad business practice. I will be contacting my attorney in regards to this vehicle purchase I have no paperwork for and the better business bureau. This is wrong and my car was sold to me without being serviced bad breaks wheel alignment and it needs shocks and had several recalls I was not notified about. so far my car still needs shocks and a wheel alignment. At this point I'm fed up and they to need to make this right. They charged me for new registration and taxes and fee but did not give me new registration only paid a 15 dollar registration transfer fee. Next time I will do more research before buying a car from people I think I can trust. Worst car buying experience ever in my life period. read more

My boyfriend and I were ready to get a new car (Honda Accord), but we had very specific color and trim preferences. We live in Monterey Bay, but all the Honda dealerships around us were adding extra fees after we agreed on a price or didn't have our preference on the lot. Jon Z was so helpful, over a phone call in less than 10 mins he was able to find us a car on the lot that fit our needs perfectly. We came to an agreement on price, and he made it clear that there would be no extra add ons, which was perfect. We drove three hours to Napa, and it was worth it. We were late to our appointment due to traffic, but everyone was super understanding and made the process as quick and easy as possible. Jon and Mike, the finance manager, went over everything with us, didn't push us as some sales people do to get all the extras, and it was smooth sailing. We were in and out in under an hour and a half, which is great. The dealership itself was clean and nice, with a great coffee machine. I just bought a Honda Accord from Kastner Honda in Napa and I am very happy. :-) I find car buying a very painful process. I have been looking for a good pre-owned certified car for over a month. After contacting several dealerships, I was very disappointed (long story) and continued my search for another dealership. After reading the reviews on Yelp I decided to see what Kastner Honda had on-line. I saw several vehicles that interested me, so I decided to contact them and take a couple of test drives. Much to my surprise it was a very enjoyable process. Quite painless, except for signing all the paper work at the end, which I guess you can't avoid. The 5 stars are really for Solomon Wilson, the internet manager. He is knowledgeable, honest, professional, fair, and has a great sense of humor. He does not pressure you and tries to help get you the car you are after. He also got me better financing. His assistant Rosa is also great! I really appreciate them. (Thank you Solomon and Rosa!) I had the most pleasurable experience buying a car from Kastner Honda. I'm really glad I found them online and even more glad I made the trip. At first I was a bit hesitant to drive all the way from San Francisco but it was totally worth it. Chris really helped me understand all the features of the CRV I was interested in and Solomon was a true man of his word; when there was a clerical error due to the credit union he took it upon himself to make sure I was only paying what we already agreed upon. O and I forgot to mention I brought my 16 month daughter with me to the dealership which I thought was going to be stressful but they have a play area just for kids and she was totally content the entire time. Pro tip: Be sure to check Waze for best times on the days you are thinking of going because I was originally planning on leaving at 3pm and Waze said it would take 2 hours but if I left the city at 10am I would be there in an hour. I ended up getting to the dealership at 10:55am and was on the road back to SF in my new car at 12:15pm. read more

After requesting quotes on line, Solomon contacted me within a couple of hours with one of the lowest offers. He followed the email up with a phone call and lowered the price even more after I told him that one dealer in the Sacramento area was a few hundred less. It didn't end there. I was very specific about the exterior and interior colors and accessories I wanted. Solomon ended up taking a car from the Kastner lot to Santa Rosa, picking up a car from Santa Rosa and going to Berkeley to get my car. Kastner Honda is my guardian auto angel! Truly! I had been dealing with an ongoing issue regarding questionable work by the Marin Honda dealership. Dan, Kastner Honda service department, has been incredibly helpful, friendly and kind. When I was waiting for Dan to look at my car, I noticed how clean, calm and organized their shop was. The feeling was one of teamwork and friendliness. Once it was verified that the other dealership had either not done the work at all or did a poor job, Dan became my advocate to work with Honda Corporation so I would not have to pay for the work twice and was supportive with my ordeal of being treated poorly in the past when trying to get this resolved at the Marin dealership. Though an hour drive for me, I am a loyal fan and will make the drive to have them service my car or to buy a new car.
