Man, this place (sigh, in a great way)...! The food is straight up fire, amazing, delicious, ridiculous, you fill in the blank with your own adjective. My wife and I came here a few weeks ago while we took a trip to Seattle from AZ. It was actually her first time trying Thai all together, and it didn't disappoint. I'd be disrespectful to not give a shoutout to Mickey our waitress/server for getting us in when it was reservation only. I had no clue, so big thanks to her! We ordered the garlic jackfruit w/sticky rice and that was the best textured/cooked jackfruit I have ever eaten, mind blowing. The sauce on the side was the perfect compliment. Also, we had the deep fried spring rolls, can't really go wrong with those. Next time we are going to try the artichoke cream sticks and cauliflower bombs, but it may be too hard to leave out the jackfruit dish. For the main dishes, I shared the drunken noodles with my son (4) "Pad Keemao." It was great, I don't know really know what else to say. The noodles were cooked perfectly as well as the veggies and tofu, and very filling. My wife enjoyed the veggie noodles soup which was huge and very fresh/filling. Speaking of fresh ingredients and some tradition, Mickey shared with us that all of the recipes are direct from the owners grandmother/childhood from cooking in Thailand. Ingredients, certain tools, and more all from Thailand adding to the authentic experience. Vegan or not, if you are in the mood for Thai food, this place gets it done right, every time. It's a must every time we are in town, no if ands or buts about it. One last thing, the ambiance is quaint and pretty modern/nice. Brought out of town friends thinking we'd find creative vegan Thai food, but were instead greeted by mediocre dishes that can be found at any typical Thai restaurant if ordered "vegan". Drinks: Thairish tea - Thai iced tea with a whiskey kick. Whiskey complimented the Thai tea side. Blackberry brut - light and refreshing. Mango tango - overpowering flavors, not the favorite. Appetizers: Fresh spring rolls - lacking fresh ingredients and flavors. Could have used a crunch, such as jicama or crispy tofu. Deep fried spring rolls - nothing to write home about, rather generic. Entrees: Massaman curry - very saucy, could have used more veggies and tofu. Good flavor, nice spice. Beware of clove seeds, surprising crunch :p Green curry - also very saucy, needs more. My spouse and I absolutely this place! My spouse has celiac disease and so he is very careful with what restaurants he frequents so that he doesn't get sick. Kati has been wonderful about accommodating dietary restrictions - he has never gotten sick! The food, too, is delicious. I love getting the curries (add rice noodles for a truly sumptuous meal!) and the Kuay Tiew Kua Gai. Sadly, the restaurant recently changed the noodle distributor so that dish is no longer gluten free. However, I'm sure we'll find something in its place as there are many GF options. If you've never had banana blossom, now is the time to try it! The Chuchi Blossom rice dish was so delicious! The sauce was creamy and the texture of the banana blossom was similar to "pulled pork" but not as chewy as other vegan meat substitutes with a similar texture! read more

We only had appetizers and drinks but it was all very delicious! The jackfruit on sticky rice is yummy, I've never had jackfruit prepared that way but it tasted chickeny~in a good way! The artichoke sticks were fun to eat and I've never seen them anywhere else. I could eat a mountain of those! The order came out quickly even though they were busy. The cool as a cucumber drink is really yummy for a hot summer day, highly recommend! Finding this place was such a wonderful surprise! The restaurant itself is super cute and they have a great menu full of all vegan options. Yum!! I'm a meat lover so I was a bit hesitant to come here but I'm so glad I did. My mom and I split the mango avocado salad, traditional pad thai, and the eggplant stirfry. And brown rice! Ooh and it's also Vegan! :) Ive been wanting to try this place for a while and I finally had the opportunity about 3 months ago when my friend wanted to get lunch and was going vegan for a month! The food here is not mind blowing; but it's pretty good. We were seated at the bar and got the cauliflower bombs for apps. It was simple yet delicious and crispy and flavorful! I've recreated this dish a couple of times in my kitchen and this dish made me fall back in love with cauliflower all over again! I got the fried rice and it was decent. It was a bit of a low after the delicious cauliflower. My friend loved her pad Thai and I'll probably get that the next time I go there. The ambience is great and the staff is super friendly! Me being the fatty that I am, I was on a search for a lunch buffet, and since I was sick of the normal Indian buffets, I gave this place a try. It is a smaller space, but I came at an odd time (1:15pm) and the restaurant was pretty empty. The buffet is very worth it, and even though I came so late, everything was still stocked nicely. Contrary to regular buffets, I couldnt pick up on the cheaper lower quality norms, each dish was well done & I couldn't be happier. They even had all the peanut sauce you wanted. Stopped in here for dinner for 4 friends and we were able to get a table very quickly. They have a great happy hour menu from 5-7pm on weekdays (not sure if this goes through the weekend) and great cocktail options as well! We tried the fried spring rolls ($5 on happy hour), pad see ew ($9 on happy hour), pineapple fried rice ($13), and pad thai ($13). The fried spring rolls were averagely good, but it came with a great sweet and sour dipping sauce. The pad see ew was delicious and had really great thick flat noodles. The pineapple fried rice was also amazing as it had cashews and raisins which added to the sweetness. The pad thai was good, but comes with chili flakes, so keep that in mind if you don't love spicy food! Overall, the service was great (they were nice about splitting the check as most restaurants in SLU are, very patient about ordering, quick to greet us) and the food was amazing. They have a small but cute outdoor seating area so I will definitely come back as the weather gets warmer! read more

When Kati Vegan Thai just opened, I was skeptical as I have never seen a vegan Thai restaurant before. But since then, I have been here and ordered take out for more than 15 times, tried most of dishes here and I am a big fan. It got the welcoming, home family run kinda of vibe, and people here are very friendly. My favorite dishes here are: all the curries (red, yellow and green), Glass Noodle Suki, Tom Yum Soup (and noodle), Cauliflower Bombs, Pad Thai, Som Tum, Tom Yum Fried Rice and Pineapple Fried Rice, Brown Rice. I also love the tea here, very rich and high quality. Although I haven't tried their cocktail, I saw the bartender use all the fresh ingredients and good quality of liquors for the mixer. The only not so great thing about here is that they have very limited number of staffs, so when there is an unusual large amount of customers coming at the same time, it's difficult to get the staff's attention. It happened a few times when I was here, but because the staffs tried really hard, I just felt bad for them. Other than this, it's a pretty perfect local place to dine!!! read more

I was sooo excited to try Kati Vegan Thai because I love Thai food and am a vegetarian. I ordered (for my brother and I) Garlic Jackfruit on Sticky Rice, Old Style Pad Thai, Green Curry and Fresh Garden Rolls. The Green Curry was very bland and a huge disappointment. There was like no taste to it - I hate not finishing my food so I tried to eat it as much as I could but couldn't finish everything. The Garlic Jackfruit on Sticky Rice (comes with a dipping sauce) was okay, but it overwhelmingly tasted of garlic - it could've been toned down a little. My brother had the Pad Thai and said it was alright. The best part of the meal was the Fresh Garden Rolls - those were delicious and fresh! I may try the other dishes but have no motivation to after my first experience, but I'm open to giving a different dish a try. I think with more flavoring the dishes could be a lot better. read more
