We used to love Keno's, it was our go to restaurant but after eating we got approached in the parking lot by a guy who identified himself as one of the managers. He said that we had failed to pay our bill a couple of months earlier. We have always paid but we know that they had problems with their table payment system. We paid again but it was so demeaning and embarrassing we have never gone back. read more

I will say this place is always busy everytime i drive by it and was finally able to try it. It's def a diner with a "secret" steakhouse. We went on a sat night and got reservations for 6pm. The parking lot was full and there was a wait for the diner. We sat on the steakhouse side, there is a bar, lounge area, and a singer. You can order from either menus, so we did! We order the tomahawk steak, it's an affordable steak to share, it's not a Mastros or anything but decent for the price. They didn't offer many sides to accompany it. We did order some apps-crab cakes were ok, wedge salad was expected and the French onion soup was ok. We did order the Reuben sandwich and it was solid and prob our fav of the night! Everyone says they have a good brunch and Bloody Mary so I will def have to come back for that! Would I be back for the steak? Prob not but maybe for something else in the menu. After living in YL for so long, I finally came in to Keno's! I really love the lounge vibe! Once you're in the dim lit side of the restaurant you don't even feel like you're in Yorba Linda anymore. Nice "old school" place. Met a couple of co-workers for Happy Hour. First time for me, felt back "in time" with the kitchen decor. Food was ok, the 'Jumbo Fried Shrimp' for $19 probably wasn't the worst choice... 5 shrimp I'd be hesitant to call "jumbo" were served with an obviously microwaved baked potato. Actually the starter salad was the highlight of my meal. I am big on a good 1000 island dressing, and their's tasted housemate. Rest of menu standard coffee shop fare. If invited, like this time, I probably would be ok to visit again...on my own, doubtful. Service was good just the same. read more

In my opinion, these are some of the improvements. keno's management has made. * breakfast one of the best in southern california * Lunch menu is outstanding with food that is priced from moderate to real deals.. * dinner eye of had only a few times but I ordered the prime rib. We've been visiting there over 35years; one near by McFadden (closed?) and one in A. Hills. Inside is very classy with nostalgic pictures and comfortable booth. Foods are very consistent quality and servers are very well experienced and genuinely trained. We often see Ms. Roman as our server, and she's great and very attentive. Foods have good portions and fairly priced. Drink prices are not great; neutral and plain, similar to a nice restaurant\Breweries. The cocktails are served not especially attractive. They don't have Happy Hour. Overall, they are very comfortable place to visit with variety of good menu to select from. I highly recommend for the casual breakfast, lunch and dinner for all the family. read more

The menu selection is incredible. It has almost every menu item that I want when going into a diner. My eyes lit up going over the list. I got the prime rib and I wouldn't say it was amazing but it was decent. The ambiance of the place is great as well. Really feels like an old vegas diner. Had the Tuesdau fried chicken dinner special and it was delicious and a lot of yummy food! Baked potato corn and soup or salad included. "$10.99 for 4 juicy fresh dark meat pieces is such a great deal these days. Nice service and ambiance as well. Will be back soon to try other dishes. read more

After emotional service for a lost love one, we wanted a nice lunch. We chose this place. The atmosphere seemed a bit like an old Vegas diner. The food was good. I had their grilled Cali bacon chicken sandwich which was delicious. The service was ok. I ordered a drink but never received it. It was not until the check came, I had to remind the server that my drink never came and to have it removed from my check. I'll will try this place again and give them a second chance. read more

The food is excellent. But they cater to certain people and that's that! We came in a group of 6 we sat in the lounge and a water came to the table asking how many? We said 6. He said all the tables were reserved, and we needed to move to a different table... BUT we could only sit at that a Table for a hour then we would have to leave. We've been at this restaurant several times, the same table of 6. So often the waitress knows our order before we give it. We're an older group, not roudy not loud. I asked the manager "I guess you don't want our patronage? He said I guess not! Why would you want to go to a place that tells you.... We do not have a seat for you, you can leave! This is not service. And just to let you know. Not one table had a reservation sign on it. This was a discretionary decision to not let us eat there. Two of the six people that we wanted to sit are disabled yet they wanted to put us on the other side crammed into a booth that would be hard for two of us to get in and out of, this is not a relaxing enjoyable meal being able to visit with friends. This was we will push you and serve you quick and get the hell out not my type of restaurant if I'm gonna spend money at a restaurant, I want to be treated like I'm a guest not like I'm a burden. How this should have been handled. The manager should have apologized for not making the reserved tables known. He should have approached the situation with dignity and told the patrons that they would make accommodations in the regular dining room as close to what they are in the lounge for this evening. Make sure the customers felt welcome in the restaurant and that their patronage is desired and that the restaurant would make their visit as inviting and comfortable as that they are used to receiving on their previous visits. You never tell customers, you don't want their presence. It's unfortunate that the owners are not made aware of the people they put in charge, who are the face of the restaurant. read more

If you have not been to kenos you need to go TODAY. They have the BEST service even when it's the busiest time. Everyone that works there is so friendly and treats you like family. We truly love and adore Roman and Paco, they bring the biggest smiles to our face every time and theier energy is always contagious. Breakfast at kenos is now a weekly tradition and being 8 months pregnant all i crave is their steak fries! There's truly a reason why that parking lot is ALWAYS full. For got to bring us drinks, and went a long time without getting refills. We've been eating here for decades- it's our go to for breakfast anytime of day. We love the waffles, French toast and pancakes. We also like lunch and dinner here too. They usually have good service and everyone is friendly. The wait time varies but it helps to get on the waitlist through the website. Today Lulu showed us to our table with a smile. Food was not it. Not sure there are new owners. We got the fish taco plate and chicken taco plate. The taco shells were stale and you can taste brunt taste off the shell. The rice that came with it was not it at all from the taste to the texture. read more

Keno's was the first restaurant my husband and I tried when we first moved in the area. Something about this place feels like home. The environment is warm and nostalgic, the food is done well, the staff were always attentive and kind. We've been regulars for years coming here for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. We hope to continue going here for years to come! My husband is VERY partial to the steaks here. The steaks are marinated well and come with a beautiful and tasty crust. And the doneness is always right. For me, the pancakes here are the best I've ever had in my life (and I've been to a lot of pancake houses). The drinks are always a hit here too! read more
