Combo b with black pepper chicken and spicy orange chicken
    Terri L.

If you are looking for lots of food this is a place is a great. Quality tho is subpar, so do with that information of what you will. It is a quick, grab and order place. Decent amount of parking. The fried rice is okay. The noodles were so bland. The spicy orange chicken was decent. Not really spicy but the most flavor things from the combo. I order the pepper chicken and I would pass on that in the future. You get all this for about 13 bucks which is a lot of food nowadays but flavor is lacking. I would say this is a meal that you would sauce up for sure.

Good food, fast service, comparable prices. Small seating area. They are open Monday through Friday- Sunday 11am-9pm.

My request for chop suey was graciously reframed as sautéed vegetables which chow mein and fried rice! This busy clean friendly shop was worth the 5.5 mile drive from inner monochrome blue blood Pasadena....

Lee and the team at KH Express are literally the best! Ordered catering from them. The party trays are a great value and actually I think 3 large trays (2 entree trays, 1 fried rice or noodle tray) would have been more than enough for our group of 50. But no one complained about taking leftovers, folks loved all the food. Orange Chicken was a hit- stayed nice & crispy with good not too sweet flavor. Broccoli & Beef was more broc then beef, so if you're just getting only 1 meat entree, consider a diff one. Their chicken fried rice & chow mein don't have many veggies but does the job. Lee also let me try some of the mushroom chicken which was pretty delicious - maybe would go that route next time, nice umami, tender & loaded with nicely cooked mushroom & zucchinni.

astonishing food that definitely is outperforms with the amount of food that they supply one for being able to consume with no regard in regretting choice they never made for food options they chose. Delicious food that is offered for my own selection

Been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. Portions are huge, fresh and delicious. Very mom and pop place to the point where the patrons and owners (?) know each other and engage in conversation. Will continue to go here as long as they're in business !

Combo B with chicken with black bean sauce and green bean chicken

As I was moving from El Sereno last month, I decided to try as many restaurants around my old place as possible in the last week I lived there. I was surprised to discover K. H China Express was less than a mile from my old place, and was excited to have some Chinese food for the first time in a while. The prices here are quite reasonable, and I opted for combo B, which came with fried rice, chow mein, and two entrees for less than $10. With the check in offer, I received a free drink because I ordered a combo, which came as a soda can of my choice. I really wanted to order the pork with black bean sauce, but they were out so I got the chicken instead. The only other item that looked interesting was the green bean chicken, and I chose that also because I felt I needed to add a little veggie to my plate of fried food. The service was pleasant and the woman who helped me was nice enough. The place is clean and they ask customers to follow directions and stand in marked positions for social distancing. There is no outdoor seating here, or air conditioning, it seems. Unfortunately I didn't really enjoy my food from here. Everything was pretty oily, and nothing had very good or strong flavor. I was expecting the chicken to be a little crunchy, or at least for the green beans to have a snap, but it was all quite mushy and soft. Little variety in texture. I was able to split this meal into two and reheat the second half a couple days later, but honestly I wasn't excited about eating it and it didn't taste better the second time. This place is okay for people who don't really eat a lot of authentic Chinese food and just want a big bang for their buck. Otherwise, I would say, "keep looking, my dude." I'm still on the hunt for my go-to Chinese takeout place...

Wanted to try this place for a quick dinner for a large group while on vacation. The reviews were promising. We did the family meal and added a few appetizers to ensure we had enough food. Overall the food was okay. Nothing special or grand. If you're looking for basic Chinese food this will do. If you want authentic food, I'd try elsewhere. I'd say the best thing was the orange chicken but everything else was just okay.

It was a but busy when we got there but luckily we got seared pretty shortly after arrival. We originally wanted to sit at the bar, but opted for a table for less wait time. When first looking at the menu we were shocked by the prices. I knew immediately i wanted to get the hui tou potstikers with pork and noodles. We ended up adding on the hongkong style wontons too. To my suprise the wontons arrived in a delicious and warm broth, keeping them perfectly moist and plump. The broth was so delicious even on a hot day, tasting faintly of sesame and scallion. Despite both dishes being pork they were so different and equally amazing in flavor. The pan fried potstikers which were CRISPED TO PERFECTION especially reminded me of black bean shortribs that you get from dimsum, fatty but hearty and had me wanting more and more each bite. The minced pork noodles were to no suprise, so good. Noodles tasted fresh, the sauce was umami with mushrooms and pork. While im not the biggest fan of mushrooms, i still ate it up. I feel it would be so good with some picked cabbage too to complement the saltiness. Most notable thing... THAT CHILI OIL. We probably used almost half the jar left at the table. It wasnt spicy at all, but it had this flavor that i genuinely have never tasted before. The texture of the chilli and sesame and the nutty flavor had me in awe. Enough to take two jars home... i would do it again. Servers were so quick, made sure everything we needed was at the table. Regardless of the crowd we were met with promptness and generosity. This that wonton place your girl tells you not to worry about forreal. Will be coming back despite the long drive from home.

Anything you can eat you any night you don't have to cook is usually a great night out. This evening was no exception. Our waitress was kind and accommodating. Positive energy, drinks filled and smile that felt genuine. The ambiance of the restaurant was bar like, but with adequate seating for dining in. Everything was prepared wonderfully and had tremendous flavor. I recommend trying their Hui Tou, stuffed with pork or beef, pork and leek pancakes, they also have vegetarian options. Their pork shumai was delicious, xiao long bao's soup dumplings were flavorful. Delicious. I definitely need a second trip here to try their soups and more of their variety of dumplings.

The braised pork belly was so incredibly soft and melt-in-your-mouth, and paired with the pickled carrots and cucumbers tucked into that steamed bao bun - so juicy. We also got the scallion pancakes which were crispy, chewy, and came with a soy ginger dipping sauce. The wood ear mushroom and bean curd stick salad was a nice lighter contrast to the heavier dishes too. We tried the beef noodles as well. The noodles were a bit on the tougher side, which is kind of expected with this style, but the flavors were solid overall. But do NOT sleep on dessert. I had to order the deep fried bao bun with ice cream scoop inside and it was delicious. Absolutely worth saving room for if you're looking to end your meal off with a sweet treat! Parking is easy with plenty of street parking nearby.
