This is the best Thai food in Los Angeles, period. Our family has been going here since they first opened and have tried virtually every item on the menu. There is no such thing as a favorite when everything they serve is the very best you have ever tried. You have to try the khao soi crab, it is full of crab bits and the spicy favor is perfection, but I like to order the crispy pork in it as well. My son and I also like their fried chicken, shrimp balls and egg rolls. Our family's favorite noodle dish is the rad na. They have a full range of drinks and the lemon grass tea hits the spot every time. To close out the mango sticky rice is a full order that serves out to four people no problem. I'm Thai. And I have to say this restaurant is very authentic. They have traditional options that most of others lack. I order Thai Basil Chicken and Wings, they came in very large yet the reasonable price. I ordered to go because of the last call, but they treated with water and very sincere service. Went there again with friends and they loved it. Shrimp cake balls are out this world, KHAO soi with Crab meat was amazing and memorable, spicy level levels is legit Thai levels. I work around CBS building so it's very comfortable to come here, parking is free 20 minutes at the upper level if you pickup and 2 hours at the lower level. Waiting for my next visit. read more

A hidden Thai treasure tucked away in the strange strip mall that houses Peet's on Ventura Blvd., across the street from the Doc Martin shoe store. Marvelous food. Try anything with noodles. They don't have enough employees and their service is terrible. One of the older ladies working got mad at a postmates driver, who had 3 orders from the restaurant, for questioning where her last two orders are. The driver was already there for an hour and only got the first order. The lady started yelling at the driver telling them that they shouldn't be placing three orders at a time and she wouldn't listen to a thing the driver said about how they don't control how many orders they get from one restaurant. The lady then proceeded to yell and tell the driver that she's going to report them and she asked the driver from their name. If anything she should be the one being reported. read more

I love good Thai food. This place is IT! I always order the Khao Soi curry, and have tried other options my boyfriend has ordered. Everything comes out tasting fresh and smelling delicious! I love the way the Curry is spiced, and their Thai tea isn't too creamy. Whenever we go in, the owner, whose name escapes me, greets us with a smile and warm welcome. I think seeing a familiar face brings a sense of home to this place. They have a fully rockin' menu! 90% odd the time I order the khao soi, ask for the crispy pork-it's not in the menu but they'll make it that way if you ask. Their shrimp balls are out if this world and the fried chicken is off the hook good. They have a full set of authentic Thai drinks as well, which is good because if you order your food spicy they will bring you fully spicy food. Eric, the owner is almost always there and he is a genuinely fun guy who loves customers and his restaurant, probably in that order. The other cooler than cool thing going in is the Thai reality tv programs that are almost always playing and they truly are unique to watch with the sound off, think the Voice on a weird acid trip. If you live in the Hollywood Hills and don't want to drive to Thai town for Thai food, this place is a convenient option. Their drunken noodles are on point, and they are right in the middle of the Studio City action, in the same shopping center as Peet's coffee. Prices are fair for the neighborhood, though somewhat more than you would spend in Thai town. We got takeout, so I'm not sure what the dine-in experience is like. read more

I had a very bad experience with the order pickup. I placed an order on Grubhub at 4pm and the site said it was ready to pick up at 5pm. When I got to the restaurant, the lady said they hadn't even started cooking my order and she was rude and unapologetic. I will never order from this place again, there are so many wonderful Thai restaurants in our neighborhood. read more

I ordered the Khao soi noodles with chicken. It's a northern thai dish. My first time trying it. It's basically curry with yellow egg noodles and crispy egg noodles. The contrasting textures of the noodles was new to me and it was really good. The owner was surprised that it was my first time trying khao soi. It came with pickled mustards, onion, lime and chili pepper. It was an extremely cold week night. I came an hour before they closed and there was another foreign western couple. The owner is a European man. He came up to me and asked how my meal was. Very good service. I will definitely come back again. My dad has been to chiang mai and this type of food is up his alley being a Thai speaking Cambodian from northern Cambodia. read more

We have dined at Khao through two owners. The second is by far the winner. After finishing the Tom Yum soup I was strolling down Yaowarat Road in Bangkok. The soup is a savory-sweet broth brimming with fresh noodles and veggies. Lose the Tofu or Chicken and you are in for a pure delight. On our next night out at Khao, I took a chance on the noodles with chicken. Unfortunately, it was a heap of tasteless oily veggies mixed with even more bland chicken I found a few glass noodles under the heap. Even the great rotisserie chicken from Costco is better. What a disappointment. Now to the Pad Thai Kung ( shrimp). Pad Thai is a wonderful Asian dish infused with lime, tamarind, peanuts, soy, and sugar. I watched a Youtube video and made it myself once. My version was tasty but dry to the bone. Khao wins hands down. Only I wish they'd lighten up on the oil. The Tom Yum knocks the chopsticks out of the park. Five stars. read more

Cheap prices, good service, nice environment, clean bathroom. We got the yellow curry and the pad Thai. The yellow curry was really good but the pad Thai wasn't so great, which is why I took off a star. The noodles were so chewy and hard to break which made them hard to swallow because the other half of the noodle was still on the plate. We found ourselves chewing for so long before we were able to swallow the noodles. The fried tofu on the pad Thai was really good though! I've tried many of their dishes, they're all amazing and fresh but the duck dishes here are my favorite. The last time I came here, I ordered, by recommendation from the owner, the mango sticky rice, and wow it was amazing. I was really blown away. I've had mango sticky rice at other places, but here really proved to be top notch. The staff here is so attentive, before I finish my water, they fill it up, when I finish my Thai ice tea they offer more. It is as if I was family.
