Cassava bread

i stopped into Kim Huong for some take out, and it dod not disappoint! The service was quick and courteous, in a fast paced little shop with a lot of customers. This atmosphere is cozy and can get packed quickly, but the orders are filled rapidly. I ordered a couple fresh hot steam buns, and a side of cassava bread. The steam buns had ground meat, sausage, and egg, in a fluffy warm bun, just right! The cassava bread is moist and flavorful, perfect for sharing. will be back to try the egg rolls, which they had just run out of when I came in. Enjoy!

This review is for Grilled pork banh mi and long overdue. I didn't try anything else but the grilled pork banh mi. I must say this is the place for GPBM. It's insane that all of the banh mi shops in Bolsa. None of them makes good grilled pork BM. They all tasted sweet with food coloring which I hate. This little hole in the wall nailed it. Best to call and order before you get there. They need time to grilled the meat etc... If you love grilled pork BM like I do. Here is the spot.

I ordered everything here at Kim Huong for my son's first birthday, and needless to say everyone loved the food. We ordered two salads (chicken salad and lotus), mien xao, com chien, mi xao, egg rolls, spring rolls, nem cuon, bo la lot, and pate chaud. I do not even remember the rest of the dishes because there was so much food, but everything was good and people kept going back for more. It was a big party and the food was a total hit. I would definitely order from here again for future events.

This came highly recommended from a lot of our friends. I always ask them where they get their food for parties and they pointed me to this place. They have small food to go area for quick bites. But we come here for the catering platters. Katie makes ordering so easy. After our first order, she gave us a number to text for orders and inquiries. Since then, we've catered many events and potlucks using Kim Huong. Our favorites are their fried rice, egg rolls, papaya salad, and chicken wings. I love that they cook your food as close to pick up as possible so it's as fresh as it gets. They are located next to Bank of America. Great food. Amazing service. Reasonable and affordable pricing. We love this place.

We ordered some Che for a party and it was a big hit. Good variety and they were all good tasting. I would order again. Please come and create your own adventure.

The catering here is next level. Prices are fair, food quality is high and there is great communication in regard to pick up time. My family has been ordering from here for years for our large gatherings. I love the variety of menu options from traditional Vietnamese appetizers, sides, desserts and entree dishes. Highly recommend ordering from here for your next event.

We quickly needed to find a Vietnamese caterer for my father's funeral. It was a three-day service and we needed catering for all three days. Working with the mother and daughter team was absolutely the highlight as they were friendly and responsive. They quickly made more boxes and had them ready for pick up within several minutes. Everyone enjoyed the Banh mi with its delicious crispy French bread and generous amount of fillings. The egg rolls and pate chaud were generously filled with meat. And the Che wasn't too sweet. Everything was perfectly made with care.

Thank you Katie for helping my order from beginning to end ! This place is the best and she's your gal if you're looking for a good catering Vietnamese food! I received a lot of compliments about the food. Thank you so much! Located in a huge plaza full of food catering shops, this place located right in the corner of the area, so it's easy to spot. When available, you can visit them during weekend to try out smaller portion / individual items. Depending on your order quantity, placing an order 1 week in advance is highly recommended!

I had such a positive experience ordering catering from here. I hate calling people but the person that picked up made the whole process super chill and gave a number to text ask well! My food was ready on time and everything was so good!!!!! So much sauce thank you for sauce!! It was a big hit at my party. I thought everything was affordable as well. Everything was packaged so nicely and I definitely will come back soon.

I knew about this place for a very long time but unable to stop by til now. Just let's say that it is all that and more. It's tuck inside and at the end of the plaza and it's not noticeable unless you know. This place is more of party trays place. But in a great way, you got to order in advance at least a day (depending on what your orders). But they do have sandwiches, and street snacks plus smaller version of the party tray, if that is available. I came, I ordered and witness folks trying to get whatever available since they forgot to order in advance when they just opened. The foods look great and delis and surprisingly, at a very reasonable prices. My foods were tasty and delish...just yummy. The place is abit messy but clean. Parking is great, just have to walk abit to the place. The ladies there are wonderful and very supportive and attentive plus friendly too. I have to go back to order the big tray for the heck of it since it looks great and at not bad price.

Such friendly service--she took time to explain things to me. The Pate So aka patechaud was so good. So nice and flaky, buttery with minced slightly sweet meat inside. Hidden gem.

A small store but stocked with food and was great for grabbing to-go party tray for thanksgiving! They generally do pre-orders but still had some available trays and food for walk-ins so that's what we did. We bought banh cuon and cha lua. It was of good size and quality. It tasted freshly made. There's such nice and helpful service too.

Pandan Honey Comb Cake

Stopped by for a quick grab and go lunch on a Sunday around 2 PM. Sadly, most of their popular items (I.e. banh bao and the pate chaud) were already sold out by this time. We ended up getting Banh Bot Loc, Banh Bao (refrigerated), and pandan honey comb cake. The Banh Bot Loc is a bit pricier than the other items I saw, but worth it for the chewy and very filling dumplings. Each dumpling consists of tapioca starch clear skin wrapped around a large dried shrimp + toppings of scallion, fried shallots, and chili pepper. I would say some pieces were a little hard, probably since these were made in the morning. A little reheat fixes this. Also, it's a bit oilier than I expected and the dipping sauce is on the sweeter side but my partner didn't seem to mind. I preferred eating them without the dipping sauce. I would also have preferred more scallions. The pandan honey comb cake edge pieces were a bit on the drier side, but the other pieces were pretty standard in terms of taste and texture. Still very satisfying! The Banh Bao, I microwaved for 40 seconds, which was just right. It would be tastier steamed if you have the patience. The filling consists of pork, egg, and Chinese sausage. This was my favorite. The only thing I'd improve upon is the bread/bun which was a bit more doughy and less fluffy than I prefer. It could be because we got the refrigerated version. However the tasty and unique filling makes up for it. Reasonable prices and a great place for a quick bite. Great service. The cashier was very friendly and helpful. She gives you utensils and napkins without being asked to. No seating as this is a takeout only place. Only one other person was ordering before us. Parking is plentiful in this plaza. They take credit card with a minimum spending of $10. I also like that tax is already baked into the pricing so you pay for exactly what you see. I'd come again, but instead in the morning!

I'm a bit late getting around to writing this, and unfortunately, they are already closed, but I still felt like I had to share my experience. I'm not completely surprised that they closed, especially after trying their bò né. I've had this dish many times at different places around Orange County, and unfortunately, this was probably the weakest version I've come across. The first thing that stood out was the presentation. As you can see in the picture, there was this purple-colored sauce on the meat itself, which honestly did not look very appetizing. To make things worse, the sauce was cold and did not heat in time with the skillet, which really took away from the experience. The flavor itself wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't anything memorable. It was just okay, and when you factor in the cold food and the presentation, it made the whole dish disappointing. With so many places around Orange County serving bò né at a much higher level, I would probably recommend spending your money elsewhere. If you were wondering whether you missed out on some hidden gem, don't worry, you didn't. This one felt more like a piece of coal than a diamond. That being said, every restaurant has its journey, and with more time, maybe they could have found their footing. Hopefully, they can take this experience as a lesson, refine their recipes, and bring something better in their next venture. I am rooting for you Loi!

Have been to this restaurant many times, and food is always consistent! Came visit to the restaurant last week, and ordered my favorite Grilled Escargot with Garlic Butter and Peppercorn, Grilled Scallops with Cheese, and my all-time favorite Chilean Sea Bass hot pot! The grilled escargots are a must-have when visiting this place! These are perfectly grilled with rich garlic butter for sweetness, and with a slight kick of spiciness from the peppercorn. Don't forget to also dip the escargot meat with black pepper and a few squeeze of fresh lime juice! If you like melted cheese, then the grilled scallops with cheese would be the perfect match. Each scallop is covered melted cheese and comes sizzling on a hot plate when ordered! Last but certainly not least, my favorite dish of this restaurant is the Chilean Sea Bass hot pot. The order comes with your own tabletop gas stove, along with a hot pot filled with a tom yum like sour soup base. For ingredients, it also includes a plate with slices of pineapple, quarter cut fresh tomato slices, fresh bean sprouts, rice noodles, and a full plate of large pieces of Chilean Sea Bass. They open early, making it a perfect breakfast spot for an early bowl of pho. The pho broth is exactly what I want when I'm craving comfort food--clean, flavorful, and incredibly soothing. However, the star of the meal for me was the chả giò. Wow. Although they arrived after our pho, they came out at the perfect temperature.
