I typically have to be in the right mood for Asian food, with Indian food being the exception. I've never really had the taste for a lot of Asian dishes, but I'm trying to slowly adapt to the flavors as my tastes change over time. Slowly, but surely, I'm learning what I do and don't like and am more open to trying new dishes. I will still proceed with caution in case I don't like my food. On a weekend where my boyfriend's parents came to town and wanted a light lunch. My boyfriend, who for this review I'll call Honeybun, is a devoted patron and suggested that we all eat here. Since everyone thought it was a good choice, the majority ruled and I had no choice but to see what Kim Phung was like. Not really in the mood for a bottomless bowl of Pho, I decided to get the orange chicken as an alternative. Much to my surprise, it was tasty! Plus, it gave me a chance to show off my mad chopstick skills to Honeybun's parents. Even though I had a good meal, I'd still only come back here if Honeybun absolutely had to have Vietnamese food, or if I lost a bet. My overall rating: meh. read more

This is my FAVORITE restaurant in the whole town. I go there once, sometimes twice a week! The people there know me and don't even give me a menu anymore. The Jasmine Iced Tea is to die for, I have frequent cravings of it. No other place has this kind of Iced Tea. The spring rolls and peanut sauce are the best I've ever had. I always get Chicken Pho which is delicious. I've had their Tofu Pho, as well as their steak & tripe pho (back when I ate red meat), and it all was wonderful. Friendly service and great prices. mmmmm, ok, first i had to stop myself from drinking the entire bowl of peanut sauce. Seriously. Favorite peanut sauce in town. Now I'm no Vietnamese expert, but I know lemongrass and the lemongrass was so yummy and fresh and the portions were ginormous. My noodle bowl was heaven, perfect amount of noodles and spice. When I first moved to the area I was both curious and sad that this little pho place with the awards hanging from their sign seemed to be closed for awhile. Luckily I discovered it was only temporarily closed for renovations. I had heard quite a lot about KP because apparently it's been an Austin staple for some time. I didn't get to see it pre-renovations, but post renovations it's wonderful. Always very bright and clean on the inside and the staff is very friendly. When I've brought friends here they were a little turned off by the place looking a little dilapidated on the outside, but that just proves you can't judge a book by its cover. Food wise, it has become one of my favorite pho places to visit. It's delicious and very cheap for the size/portions of food that you receive. Luckily for me it's also within walking distance! My only complaint is how there's only ever sports, or bad news stations on. It's a little hard to want to eat your food when the news is showing graphic images of some crime, and sports is fine, but you can go watch sports in a sports bar. It would be nice to have maybe some nature documentaries, or even maybe some traditional Vietnamese/Thai/Chinese movies/documentaries. Something neutral that everyone might enjoy. read more

Used to love this place but my last experience is not great. Friend ordered the chicken pho, bowl came with a very VERY thick oil layer on the top. I ordered a cold green tea but the server came to the table to tell me that they didnt have any, after i paid for it. Then after asking for my options, I ordered the passion fruit tea. Server later came to tell me they didnt have that either. I then asked him to tell me what they actually had and settled for peach tea. I was nearly done with my pad thai by the time the "tea" came and it wasnt tea, it was a milk based smoothie. Im lactose intolerant :-/ so that was that. The server refunded me for the drink. Our experience was not great but this is the kind of place that charges you at the ordering counter and you are asked to tip ahead of time. Oh well. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I came to the restaurant for a pick up order of the spicy vegan Thai fried rice (I saw it on door dash). The woman behind the counter told me that they don't serve that dish. I asked why it's on the menu and if I'm at the right place. She said I am at the right place. She then told me that they do serve it but she doesn't know how to put my order into the system. She asked around in the restaurant and then called a manager and the manager helped her do it. I waited about 30-35 minutes for my food. When I got it, it was NOT SPICY and NOT VEGAN at all! When I told the woman at the counter, she said that she's sorry and she can't do anything about that. I asked for the number for the manager and she gave me the number to the owner. The owner didn't even help me And wouldn't give me a refund or even re-make my order The right way. I'm appalled. I really wanted to like this place, but I can't. I will never eat here again. The atmosphere is messy and not at all organized. People who work there are making food without masks on or washing hands after touching doors, counters, etc. disgusting. read more

It's a shame about Kim Phung. I started going there in the mid-nineties and that place rocked hard. It was always busy and the food was good. Currently, their quality control in the prep department is extremely poor. Too many times, I and others have found uneatable beef fat and chicken fat and parts in various dishes. The veggies in the bun dishes are deplorable. They cover up that fact by always putting the veggies on the bottom and topping with too many noodles. Good Spring rolls and Imperial rolls. But that's about it. Thank the lord for Pho Saigon in Chinatown Center. I freakin love that place. Kim Phung is in need of a total scrape and build on that site. Or, just move to another location. It's getting a little too ghetto and dirty in that locale anyway. One thing is for sure, they need to lean on the staff to step it up in the quality department. When I'm really hungry for Vietnamese food and don't care to venture too far from the house, I choose Kim Phung. The spring rolls are "fat" and a little over noodled but tasty. ( I had a bad experience recently with finding a couple of hairs on my spring rolls. It looked like someone had dropped them on the floor. The owners apologized profusely and made sure to take the spring rolls off the bill. I'm a little, okay a lot grossed out by it but I may go back as it has never happened before.) The pho is really flavorful and I enjoy the sides of cilantro, basil and jalapenos to add along with a slice of lime. Try the brisket and rare beef pho! I like that the meat isn't full of gristle like some other pho places. (~MSG alert if you're allergic!) All together, the ambiance is lacking as the restaurant has an old and dirty restaurant feel but it is actually clean for the most part. The cashiers and waitstaff has always been friendly and accommodating. Give it a try for cheap and tasty food on the fly! read more

Ya know. I like the food. They make a mean tofu lemongrass vermicelli dish. But that's not really why I'm writing. I can't offer much more than others have as far as that goes. No, I'm here to offer a warning. There is something shady going on here. If it had happened once, perhaps my group would just have thought it was a shady employee and let it pass. But it happened again... with a different employee! What I'm talking about is a penny-stealing scheme a-la Office Space. On the first instance, my friend noticed that they were rounding up the total on our credit card receipts. For example, the charge was something like $6.67 and they would put $6.70 on the credit card. She didn't really make a deal out of it until one of our totals was rounded up when it didn't need to be, say $6.64 to $6.70. When she brought it up, the employee in charge took great offense, offering her pennies from the cash drawer. Now, it's not really the cash, but the principle of the thing. We had never seen that employee before and had not seen him since. However, after returning and keeping a much more careful watch on our receipts, a different employee tried the same thing. When the same friend pointed it out on the first receipt of the group, this new employee said nothing and quietly totaled the correct amount on the remaining receipts. With any other place, that alone is enough to make me quit going. However, Kim Phung is just too darned convenient and cheap to stop completely. We keep a close watch on our receipts now and hope never to see that first employee again. read more

Having eaten at the Kim Phung in Cedar Park, I was sure that the original on Lamar would be even better! Nope. I was pretty disappointed. It didn't make any sense to me because I had heard so many great things about Kim Phung. So I tried it again. Similar experience. Now I see from other reviews that this downhill slide has just been a recent thing, maybe they have new management. I'll probably stick to Minh's when I'm in Austin. For those of you guys who miss the old Kim Phung, maybe the one in Cedar Park still has what you've been missing. read more

I stopped going here years ago ...however a client took me here as a thank you for my Real Estate service. I was pleasantly surprised at the improvements. I decide to have the Vietnamese Spicy Coconut Curry and it was fantastic. In fact it was so good that I went back two days later for more. Extremely good. My friends got tempura shrimp and Pho soup and they both loved it. My wife got vegetable Lo Mein and she was a little bothered because the portion was very very small compared to the HUGE curry bowl I got and the gigantic Pho bowl that my friend got. On our next trip my wife had a thick noodle dish the waitress recommended. My wife did not like it because the vegetables were bitter, the tomatoes were not prepared well and the noodle was too gummy and thick to eat. However, I will go back constantly for their Pho and their Curry!!!! read more

I went here with really high expectations based on the reviews and left thinking, what the hell?! The place wasn't all that busy, but we waited forever. The waiters taking orders were a complete disorganized mess. I'm not just being grumpy...I'm generally a pretty forgiving patron, but about three tables in our section all got up about the same time (independently) to pay for our bills up front after waiting about 20 minutes for them to let us pay so we could just leave. I don't think the waiters could figure out who was seated when or whose section was where because we were seated and waited for about 15 minutes while couples who were seated after us all were waited on first and some people who were seated before us even waited longer. Before I move onto the food, I thought the place could use a good scrub and freshening up. The food was unimpressive. We got the steamed dumplings and 2 vermicelli bowls. The dumplings were very boring and tasted like they don't make them in house. The bowls were unbalanced and pretty disappointing. I got the chargrilled pork. The flavor of the pork was great, but the meat was fatty and chewy. There were too many noodles in the bowl and they were too dense. It was impossible to correctly mix the bowl up to eat because you couldn't easily get underneath the noodles for the lettuce. The husband was actually shocked about half way through the meal to discover there was anything under the noodles because they were so impossible to deal with. The flavor of the pork was good, but not so good to make me want to come back here anytime soon. We left wishing we had gone to Tam or Thanh Nhi instead... and next week, we will. read more

I'm hesitant to review this place because I know talking about its awesome food will cause me to crave it even more. But it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make for you Yelpers. A friend brought me to this place and I have to admit, I didn't expect much. It resembles another Vietnamese place in town with which I was quite unimpressed. However, Kim Phung has wonderful food and great service at affordable prices. My friends had vermicelli bowls and both were flavorful, with lots of veggies. I hadn't had vermicelli before, so I sampled both bowls and found them to be delicious. I enjoyed the different texture of the vermicelli noodles and neither bowls were too bland or overwhelmingly salty. I ordered a broccoli/beef dish with garlic sauce. I was pleasantly surprised to find it a bit spicy. It came with fried rice, which was pretty standard - it's hard to mess up rice, but I was glad this wasn't overly salty. I also ordered an egg roll, which was good, but nothing to scream about. It wasn't filled with only cabbage (as some are) so I appreciated that. Everything was cooked to perfection and the portions were enormous. I was extremely impressed with their seasoning of all of our dishes. This isn't just noodles cooked in oil - their dishes have character. I was also impressed with their prices - very reasonable. I wish it weren't so far away so I could enjoy their lunch buffet. I really like Kim Phung. Yes the interior is very dated and it's in a old strip mall but the food is always fresh and clean. The pho is always delicious and the vermicelli dishes are always hot and delicious. I have not had a bad experience yet. Oh yeah, I highly recommend the spring rolls. read more

Maybe going on $5 pho night wasn't a good idea. I didn't like it at all. And, I didn't even get the pho. We ordered spring rolls which were these giant square roll messes. They were very cold and very not good tasting. I didn't like the peanut sauce either. The fellow didn't mind them, but I didn't like mine at all. About 1 minute after they brought us the spring rolls, they brought us our food. I got the tofu vermicelli bowl. He got the fatty flank pho (ah, alliteration). My vermicelli bowl was iceburg lettuce, noodles, and tofu. That's it. The lettuce was kind of brown. The noodles where so cold and globby that I couldn't get them apart. I had to use my hands to kind of tear them up. The tofu was baked but without any spice. At all. They didn't bring out the fish sauce, I had to ask for it. I actually said to the fellow that it was verging on disgusting. It was so oddly cold and bland that I just kinda stared at it with a loathing face. It was not good. It wasn't good at all. I spiced it up with some sriracha and hoisin sauce. That kinda helped, but I still didn't eat that much of it (which is an almost never happen in my world). I never in my life thought I would look for a salt shaker in a Vietnamese restaurant. It was a blah color, a blah taste, and a blah...well, I can't think of anything else that would describe it. The fellow said the pho was okay, but nothing he would go back for. He thought it was from a mix or they added oil to it because the little oil globules in it were tiny and numerous. I was really disappointed with the place. With so many other options in the area, I won't go back. I don't recommend the tofu vermicelli bowl or spring rolls at all. Listen to me, People. I am not a picky person. I swear I'm not. If the fatties won't eat it something is wrong! Try it if you like, but just think of my smiling face when you give your meal a dirty look and want to trip your waitress just for bringing you such a funkified meal. Or, you can think of me if you eat there and like it. Then you can just think...ah, that double chinned goon doesn't know what she is talking about. But, me, I don't likes this place at all! ***This is an add on. I looked at the pictures of this place just a bit ago. Seems I ordered some of the same and similar dishes as the pictures. I just recently moved back to Austin and I was a bit concerned that the quality may have dropped based on the negative reviews on Yelp. Two reasons why Kim Phung gets Five Stars: The Bun is the best I have had anywhere, especially the #39. The egg rolls on the appetizer menu are the best I have ever had and I am not a fan of egg rolls. I have had the Mi once before and it was delicious if I remember correctly. This is probably the best alternative to their Bun. The Pho here is decent, but I always wish I would have gotten the Bun. They have some great lunch specials for their Chinese food which always seems to please my friends. I sometimes get takeout from here. It seems like they load you up with even a larger portion for takeout. One order of #39 is usually two meals for me at home. They have containers on a table in the front to fill up on the sauces for your leftovers or takeout meals. This is my go to restaurant when I am craving Vietnamese food. I have been coming here probably since 2005 and the place really hasn't changed at all. The service is usually pretty good. It is located in a shopping strip and like most Vietnamese restaurants the outside and the inside of the building are not pretty. The inside kinda smells like fish. Anyways, if you are looking for an esthetically pleasing alternative, try the Kim Phung up north by Lakeline Mall, it is somehow a spinoff of this place with most of the same exact food but I don't think they are owned by the same people. read more

Some of the best food I've ever had. Delicious! And great portion size too. The dining room is clean, bright and perfect for visiting with friends while enjoying a fantastic meal. The problem is that you have to deal with the employees in order to get to that point. The extremely heavy-set, twenty-something behind the register is consistently rude and dismissive. There is also an extremely rude older, Asian man and an equally unpleasant. Older Asian woman. What a shame. I used to like Kim Phung back in the late 90s around the time it got all of those Chronicle awards. I do remember really liking the egg rolls. They were a bit bigger, juicier and more flavorful than the little fried things you get at many pho joints. I was also a huge fan of their bun bo xao xa (beef vermicelli with lemongrass). There was just something about it....I ate it all the time, usually by myself on a weekend. Maybe on my way to picking up something from Autozone.. But that was then... Has it gone downhill, or has my taste just been refined over time? Has it bounced back and I know not of it? I do not know. I recommended the place to my friend Doug. He took the family there and told me the place REALLY STANK! Like, smell wise. I was surprised. So I returned to seen what was up. Then I noticed the meat didn't taste so fresh. Then I started to notice a spice that my friend Hai explained to me was used to cover up the taste of bad meat. And that was it. Romance over. That was some time around 2001 and I haven't looked back. Is it fair to write about a place I haven't been to in 8 years? Probably not. Maybe I'll stop back and see if the Egg Rolls are still really good. Decent, but it's no Sunflower. For pho, there are other places that concentrate solely on pho that are much better. This was one of the first Vietnamese places in Austin -- I first went in 1994, and it was already well established at that point. They used to use a wider rice noodle back then, like the kind I got in Vietnam that is hard to find in US-made pho these days. The pho was better back then too. But kudos for introducing Austin to a cuisine so early; it's because of places like Kim Phung that Austinites have known what pho/bun is for decades while other (bigger) cities are just getting to know it for the first time, if at all. read more

Kim Phung is my favorite pho restaurant in town. They consistently have the most flavorful broth for the pho, the tastiest bun, and the freshest spring rolls (i.e. moist and chilled, not dry and room temperature). I haven't tried much else on their menu because these three dishes are so good here I never want to order anything else. Service is quite fast too. The only downside is the matter-of-fact service and unimpressive decor of the Lamar location. That said, the one in Cedar Park in the Target shopping center off 620 deserves 5 Stars. All the same good food, with a much nicer setting. Plus you can order the bun with charbroiled pork at this location, which is out of this world. Worth the drive out there if you have issues with the cleanliness of the Lamar location (which is still on par with every other pho place in Austin). I know this place is well known for their Pho. They have won awards for it. That said I am not a Pho kind of guy so I have never tried it. I eat Vietnamese noodle bowls and the bún here is amazing. I have been lots of places but few and far between are anywhere near this good. The egg-rolls are unique and delicious, and the meats are great tasting. Not to mention they will work with you if you want to change up your plate a bit and swap one thing for another. The servings of bún are extremely generous and are usually far more than I can eat. The meat(s)/tofu portion in the bun are large and delicious, and the price is excellent. You can get out of here for under $10 if you don't order any specialties. I'm a huge fan of vermicelli bowls with the charbroiled pork and Kim Phung's version ($8.50) is excellent. The pork comes in charred strips. The sauce is a little sweeter than standard "fish sauce" but it's not the sweet clear sauce either. Dump a ton of Sriracha on it and go to town. The spring rolls are just OK. They're huge, but they have a kind of off-putting taste to them that's not there in better versions. That said, I still order them. The place brags on its Pho, claiming numerous "Best Of"s but I have yet to pry myself from the charbroiled pork. Also, this place looks like a dump from the outside but once you step inside it's WAY different than you'd expect. Super high ceilings, wide-open lay out, bright paint colors, a freakin' kids area complete with train table and mini-basketball hoop. Service is prompt and friendly. read more

I tried this restaurant due to the Austin Chronicle Restaurant poll, and boy am I regretting this decision. I wish I could send them my bill and get reimbursed because I doubt I will be eating much more of this atrocious meal. I ordered two bowls of pho with brisket and flank with some egg rolls. The broth is weak and tastes more of salt than anything else, the meat has got to be some of the poorest looking meat I have ever seen, almost like a grey/tan in color as opposed to the dark plentiful cuts of meat I've gotten at Saigon. The egg rolls were ok, but so far I think Pho Van has the best egg rolls. After this and Hoover's Cooking, I think the Austin Chronicle has lost all credibility in the restaurant department. read more

I used this restaurant way back before it changed hands and loved it. They had bubble tea like I liked it and actually took your order at the table. Now order in line and ask for tip. Want to take my tip back as they served my hot tea in cold tea glasses and only have the watery bubble tea. Communication issues as well and inly two types of tea. Restaurant is attractive. Why Kim Phung has ever been listed/awarded anything is beyond me. I use to go with a friend around 8-10 years ago and back then they would use mildewy towels to wipe down the tables that would leave your table smelling mildewy. But hey - they were wiped down right? Anyway after a long absence - my friend moved to PHX about 8-10 years ago - and not wanting to get in a hurry to get on N183 and wait. I decided to give them a re-try on 10.07.13 around 4PM. Big mistake. I get the char grilled "pork" / egg roll and the first thing i notice was the egg rolls were mostly fried rolls with very little anything in it. Who does that? The char-grilled "pork" was plentiful - which really struck me as odd - because most Vietnamese restaurants skimp on the meat and go real heavy on the noodles. I didn't get crazy - and I'm so glad i didn't. It was char-grilled, so the taste was mostly that smoky, grilled taste but i left at least half of it behind. And it was a strange-looking flat, long strip of "pork" not something I've ever had or seen before. That night, I got explosively sick throughout the night and into the next morning. And since i only had a granola/yogurt breakfast - i know when this came from. I missed two days of work. It was that bad. My stomach is still cramping 2.5 days later but I'm definitlely not as bad. I will never go back, I'm rarely/ never sick so I'm already told 5 people already what happened when I returned to work and it's not even 8:30AM. Eater beware - Kim Phung is not safe to eat (read some of the other reviews - metal in the food, cockroaches), it's not really spending any money on the food (egg rolls/pork), but at least they got new towels. Ordered sweet and sour chicken lunch "special" for $9 didn't come with a drink or egg roll just the chicken and rice. The rice was horrible didn't taste like regular Chinese fried rice and the chicken was hit or miss some pieces were fresh others were tough. When I first discovered Kim Phung back in the early 90's, it was one of my favorite places in town. I lived in the depths of South Austin, but nearly every Friday night, I would venture north for their vermicelli with roast pork and fried egg roll. In the late 90's, my future wife and I went there for dinner on our first date. A couple of years later, we noticed the quality started to slide. The number of Vietnamese restaurants in Austin had double by that point, so we figured that there were certainly at least a couple that would be on par with Kim Phung. We were right. It wasn't long before there were other places that surpassed Kim Phung's previous offerings. A few years went by, and last night we (my wife, 4-year old daughter and myself) decided to try Kim Phung again, figuring that they would have triumphantly bounced back in the face of so much competition. We were wrong. So wrong. We entered the door to be greeted by a guy halfway back pointing at a table and yelling, "THREE? SIT HERE!" Someone came by and took our drink orders, and we looked over the menu, which has been cut back quite a bit; I might even say dumbed down. The decor has jumped the shark to downright gaudy. And where in years past, the wait staff was mainly female and very friendly, it now seems to have been reduced to two of three bungling men who can't decide who is covering which tables. Two more parties came in and were seated near us. After about five minutes, a waiter took their orders. We waited. Another five minutes went by, and finally a guy comes over and takes my wife's and my daughter's orders, then walks away quickly. He runs over to the other side of the room and nervously takes orders from another table. I stare at him, waiting for eye contact... He glances up in our direction and back at his pad like he's forgotten something, then races back to the kitchen. While my wife and I were discussing the situation, another waiter brings water to the table. Before I can say anything about my (denied) order, he looks at my daughter, who was fidgeting in her chair like 4-year-olds do, and yells in Vietnamese (presumably) then runs off. At this point we got up and left, and I can assure you we won't be going back. It's sad that this once great restaurant has slid so far off the charts. If the present owners of Kim Phung have felt threatened by the competition (especially since Chinatown Center opened up), they should. And not even by the food, but the service and attitude. I hate this place and this is why. I enjoy the food but the service is bar none THE WORST. Every single time I go here, whether it's pick up, or dine in, it's always the worst service experience I have ever had. It's a very simple formula: Take an order, then take two more, then fill the first order before taking a forth. Once it is filled, take a fourth order and fill the second, that way no one is ever waiting 20 minutes on a drink to complete their order. It's terrible, I hate it, and it's happened to me four times in a row. I'm so sick of it, I just wish there was a better local food place or that they would learn how to fill an order properly. I would have given this the 4th star, but the noodles were way undercooked when the bowl of Pho came out. After letting them sit in the broth for several minutes, they did start to soften up though. They have a picture book of almost every entree which is unique and will give some clarity to people not familiar with Vietnamese food. Nice work on the square text receipt as well! I originally started this review with 3 stars but didn't finish it till now, in the meantime I have been back their about 4 times. Each time is a little more disappointing. Today, my vermicelli bowl had some strange tasting pork in it, and also resembled perfect rectangle cuts of Spam. I did not finish it. I'm obsessed with the #33: vermicelli bowl with egg rolls and grilled pork. AWESOME! I always ask for a to-go box and split my food in 1/2 as soon as my food comes because it's way more than enough for two meals. The shrimp spring rolls are big (enough for a meal if you order 3) and a really great price! I'm excited that they added the pot stickers to their menu too! Get the pan-fried ones if you're not watching your diet, and the steamed ones if you feel guilty about eating them. Either way, I love this place and crave it on at least a bi-weekly basis (considering I live outside of Austin and it's a pretty far drive otherwise). You can get out of there for $10, but you definitely will have left-overs so it's worth it! You have to just get over the location and the "hole-in-the-wall" look that they have because the food is great. This place looked cute but I was not impressed. Got a flavorless avocado boba tea, shaken beef and grilled meat spring roll. Both food items were stuffed with more lettuce than meat. The Shaken beef tasted like the meat was off to so I couldn't finish it. So not worth $25. The staff was nice though. read more

I'm still on the hunt for just some good ole pho. I've heard good things about this place so I tried it out. Well...how to say pho tai.....is suppose to be rare beef not beef jerky. I mean did they think soaking it in hot beef stock would soften it? So wrong....in so many ways. One good thing...the spring rolls were tasty. Pho Van is still my #1 so far and Pho Tai Son is #2. I think I might just stick to these places because so far...I haven't been impressed with anyone else. read more

I still haven't gotten around to having the pho here, but I find their food to be good but not great. The squid is cooked perfectly, but the dishes tend to be too "saucey" for me, and the lemongrass doesn't taste like I expect it to. You can find me at this not so hidden gem on wednesday guaranteed. They have a pho happy hour special from 7-9 pm on wed.,a great deal and you can upgrade to a large for a dollar. NICE! Their pho broth in my opinion taste slightly sweeter than most pho restaurants I've been to in town and you have to mix the noodles around a bit to break them up but overall hits the spot. They also give you your own plate for pho veggies incase you don't like swapping hand germs with your table mates. They have two flatscreens that usually play sports and news to entertain you while you eat! The place gets busy around dinner time so waiting a few minutes longer for pho is expected. read more
