The Catfish was cooked perfect and the potato salad was delicious. I had the opportunity in meeting the cook David which did an amazing job on the food. The host Teddy greeted me very professionally at the door. Both waitress Razzie and waiter Mitchell provided me with above and beyond service. The DJ was jamming and the crowd that was in here is laid back and everyone enjoying the vibe and ambiance of this place. I will definitely be back here because eating Catfish around the country you learn the difference in Sway and Catfish and this is real Catfish.

Terrible experience here with lackluster food. We waited almost one hour for our food to arrive. We were hoping the food would make up for this, but the food was very mediocre. We ordered the Fried Catfish with Baked Mac n Cheese and Mashed Potatoes, and the Chicken Sandwich. The fries were not crispy at all, just mushy. The chicken was dry and tough and could only be saved by being doused in ketchup. The fried catfish was good, but there was so little sauce to come with it. The mac n cheese was extremely salty and the mashed potatoes lacked any flavor. I absolutely will not return here. Waiting one hour for mediocre food is not okay. Maybe short staffed but still not worth the visit. There was no apology for the long wait, and the server seemed to touch our foods with her hands as she brought it over. Really disappointed.

First time eating chicken and waffles and it was worth the wait. Chicken was so crispy and flavorful on the outside ,inside meat was tender. Waffles small but spot on. Service was great people were so friendly. The drinks were strong, was taste makers night. Will be visiting again.

Came here for a book club event, sat in the back room near the kitchen and enjoyed a cocktail and some shared appetizers. I had a pulled pork slider which was really delicious, and my friends said the fried chicken wings were amazing! The cocktail I chose was called Black Girl Magic, named for the edible glitter and black color made from the liquor mixed with the lemonade - highly recommend! Service was friendly, attentive & quick.

Amazing food last Friday night. Can't wait to come back! Wings were great and the aunties kool aid was superb.

Went back during the summer. Food was still great, but ran out off biscuits. They forget one of my friend's order, she didn't want to make a big deal so she end up only ate a side. The most disappointing part is that there are a lot of big flies inside the restaurant and they were coming for our food and drinks. Not good experience at all.

If you're in the mood for Southern comfort food in a fresh setting, Kin is the place. We shared the biscuits with honey butter - just delicious. My colleagues got the generous shrimp po'boy which looked messy to eat, but they said it was delicious. I envied their fries - well done and perfect. I got the fried chicken and waffles, but made the mistake of asking for boneless chicken. It ended up a little dry; the bone-in might have been better. It came with honey butter and syrup. Wash it all down with sweet tea. It doesn't get much better! Service was friendly and efficient.

I had a really fantastic first visit at Kin and can't wait to return! First of all, it's deceivingly larger inside than you would imagine at first glance. Our server was very friendly and helpful, and service was pretty fast (although we arrived before the dinner rush officially started). Both my dining companion and I tried the catfish and we both LOVED it. The collard greens are a can't miss. I also consider myself to be a macaroni and cheese connoisseur, and the mac and cheese here was also a solid thumbs up. The biscuits were delicious though a bit different from what I expected. They were less soft and flaky, and more crunchy (also square biscuits versus round ones). They were still really good and the honey butter is totally worth every calorie to slather on top. They have really creative and delicious cocktails too. I loved the Black Girl Magic and would happily order it again (it's sparkly!). I'm so happy I had an opportunity to try Kin and definitely hope to return soon.

I had a terrible experience the place itself is nice and the music is good but the service here is horrific. Our food took almost an hour to come out and our server was all over the place messing up our order forgetting things etc. one he told us my chicken and waffle came with a side and he said I could've put the cornbread as a side just to end up charging us for it later. Second we ordered mac and cheese and never received it and was charged for it as well and when we let him know he said for us to just take It home we declined and was able to get it removed. My friend also ordered sliders and ended up receiving a regular chicken sandwich which cost 4 dollars more than the sliders he originally ordered. The food itself was okay the cornbread was delicious but the hassle to get the food itself was not worth it at all. I probably will never come back here cause the food itself isn't worth the terrible service we received.

I really wanted to like this place! I had put my name in for 2 over at The George, but there was a wait, so my brother and I wandered. We came upon Kin Southern Table and figured we should go here instead. Southern food! Black owned! Good music! Yes, please! We were waiting in line at the host stand to get seats at the bar when someone breezed past us and sat right in the middle of 3 open seats. Luckily, there was a two top in the back of the restaurant. We sat down and brought up the QR code menus. Let me just say that service was really slow. I ordered a glass of wine and my brother ordered a beer and it took 20 minutes to get them. That's about 5 minutes after the guy next to us who ordered a mixed drink after we had placed our order. Not sure how the bar operates, but ok. I put in my order for my 2nd glass of wine before I finished my first, just in case. For food, I ordered the fried chicken sandwich and my bro ordered the shrimp po boy. We were right next to the kitchen, so I could see that his po boy sat there for several minutes before my chicken was ready. I understand wanting to serve folks at one time, but it was weird having a view into his food just sitting there. Anyways - food came. My brother really liked his shrimp po boy. He said the shrimp was juicy and cooked well. The portion was big, so he didn't finish all of the breading, but certainly ate all of the shrimp! That was the good news. The bad news was that my fried chicken was so dry. I took 2 bites and sent it back. I was asked if I wanted to get anything else, which was nice, but at that point (my brother had his food, things were slow and they were closing soon), I said no thanks and had my liquid dinner (wine). The host came over and asked how everything was, so I said "fine" with a smile. She then said she was the owner and to let her know if we needed anything. If she had mentioned earlier that she was the owner, I would have told her about the issues. I'm not one of those people who will say everything is fine and then go off and write a less-than-stellar review. Since I thought she was a host, I wasn't going to "bother her" with my issues, so I said all was well. If I had known she was the owner, I would have said more. Oh, well. To be honest, I'm glad this place has good reviews and seems to be doing well. Maybe it was just an off night. Since I don't live in the area, I don't think I'll be back.

This place is DELICIOUS. We had fried green tomatoes and biscuits to start. We were hydrated with a couple of cocktails, which were delicious. For entrees, had the chicken sandwich, ribs, and collard greens and Mac and cheese. Everything was delicious, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the location and ambiance were comfortable and inviting. We loved it. In addition, the decor and furniture were perfect. Looking forward to coming here again!

Our first visit and if service had been on par - easily 5 stars. We dined early as we were headed to a movie so not busy when we got there but fairly busy when we left. Cocktails are quite good and priced well ($10 - $12). Getting the first round was quite slow. We ordered the "bucket of biscuits" which were heavenly and huge - no couple could eat all 4. Entrees were chicken sandwich (w/ a huge mountain of fries - seriously they should cut this portion in half) - $16 - and the fried chicken wings w/ 2 sides - $18 - I got collard greens (with turkey!) and baked mac and cheese. These were OUTSTANDING. And their price points are too low for this quality and quantity of food. The service issues - biscuits arrived after the entrees (may have not been included on our bill...) and another cocktail showed up as we were about to leave. Both items required us to remind the server. Food 5/5 Service 2/5 Value 5/5 Cleanliness 5/5 Noise 2/5 (lively which is OK but music was blaring) Decor 3/5 Damages with tip was $88. We'll be back and we hope their service issues get resolved.

For a restaurant like this, they deserve 5 stars. Probably because the pork ribs were the I have ever eaten! Both sides were good- mashed potatoes and macaroni & cheese (very good). Prices are very reasonable. My manhattan drink was done awesomely.

Antonio said Eric invented the grind ratios for the Slow Rhode burgers. "Well, Foo believes you best burger in city. Not in state but in city," said Foo. Antonio said, "Who best in state?" Luckily, there was a perfect corner of the bar had just opened & we grabbed the seats. The atmosphere was convivial, upbeat & super comfortable, despite the crowd. Service was fabulously friendly & competent - the bartender handling the packed house with ease. We decided to go with an array of small plates to try as much as possible. The menu it designed perfectly for grazing & the prices are super reasonable! The selections are definitely on the comfort-food side with a strong southern hint. Ingredients are often locally sourced - something I greatly admire. We began with the a small plate of Pimento Cheese Toast. Just a few bites each but a nice start. Duck Drumettes. The horseradish-y white sauce was delectable! Even my non-duck loving partner was blown away. I was happy to hear that the salad was available in a half portion - enough for a light fresh break to our heavy selections. Next came a much heavier choice - the gravy fries with duck confit. We left off the cheese, but it wasn't missed at all. These were decadent, delicious & super filling! Next time we'd get a half portion - that would have been plenty! Our final dish was the Shrimp & Grits, but we'd already filled up on the other dishes & ended up asking for this to go. Even reheated, it was a perfectly delicious accompaniment to our brunch the next day! I'd be tempted to order this to-go again for just that purpose. While we didn't imbibe, the cocktail list looked wonderful & the bar was very well stocked. We did enjoy a nice selection from the interesting beer list. The sandwiches that we saw come out looked delicious & huge! We'd love to try them as well. We will be back - this is certainly a new favorite for us!

As a non-chicken eater, I ordered salad, hush puppies and the catfish sliders. I was also excited that they had a number of local beers on draft. The salad was pretty average and underwhelming. The hush puppies were also just okay. The catfish sliders were the tastiest of the three but I did find a small piece of bone in one. We chose this restaurant because it was close to an event we were attending later in the evening. Since the chicken was well received, I might come back with other chicken enthusiasts, but unlikely I'd check back here myself. Service was pretty speedy but although we requested separate checks at the start of the meal we still got a combined check and had to ask again for the split. Ambience is nice with a bit of a bistro flair and cute chicken themes. The process of making a reservation here is awkward. You have to request the reservation and then they email you later to confirm it. Would be much more convenient if they did Open Table or Resy. Limited parking too. Their lot is small and we had to park on a side road, which was not a big deal as the road seems to be in an industrial area and was not busy.

I'm glad I made a reservation! Our server, Ayden, made the whole experience very special! He was personable, available & fun to chat with as he is also a semi-professional wrestler. We were there to try the nachos as they looked delicious when other diners ordered them. WOW! It is a HUGE platter of chips topped with shredded monterey jack, homemade black bean corn salsa, beer cheese queso & a drizzle of guacamole & sour cream. I asked for extra queso because I like everything to be smothered & that it was! Two people could easily make a meal of this platter alone. And we didn't even add any protein (pulled pork, grilled or crispy chicken option)! Not knowing the size of the nachos, we wanted to try something else. I asked Ayden: quesadilla or Nashville naan. He said for former but we felt that we were already doing a Tex-Mex inspired dish so we opted for the latter. On top of naan, crispy chicken with mozzarella, smoked bacon, scallions & house-infused hot honey drizzle. A good amount of toppings & the naan was delightfully chewy. I thought it was going to be Nashville hot spicy given the name but you have to order Nashville hot or buffalo chicken for an additional charge. I feel like I can actually tell people something about good BBQ, and why it's worth visiting a place over others. The Purple Pig is run by a guy who grew up in Texas and obviously trained under some great pit masters. The place itself is really not much. There are two tables and a little bar to sit at. They have no restroom, which was pretty disappointing. Thankfully, the dispensary next door was very nice to let us use theirs. Anyway, my uncle and my nephew were with me and we were hungry, so we ordered their family dinner for $95. It had a full rack of ribs, a pound of brisket, two huge sausages, three sides and lots of cornbread. I think this is a great deal for the amount of food you get. After ordering the food came out very quickly. The beef brisket was really amazing. The cut he gave us was a perfect mix of fat and meat. The rub he makes is savory a good blend of salt, pepper and onion. It was really tender meat but also still had firmness as well. The pork ribs were perfectly cooked and fell off the bone nicely. I love the rub he makes for the ribs as well. It is both sweet and savory. The sausages were smoky and peppery. There were two sauces and both were Texan style with a tangy tomato base, but one was spicy and the other not. Both excellent! For the sides, the Cowboy Beans were a standout: these were some of the best beans I've had at a BBQ joint. The cornbread was also really good and the Mac and cheese was solid. The coleslaw was the only side that I thought was just pretty average. I hope that was a helpful review of things. They have so many other things to try on their menu, but sadly I won't be back in this area anytime soon. I hope others will venture out and find this place.
