This is an all-time favorite for my family. I love their cumin flavored rotisserie chicken! It is tender and tasty! But the thing I love the most from this place is the SOUP!!! LATINO SOUP! The chicken soup with cilantro is my favorite! My mother-in-law made this soup at home when she visited me and the one at King Pollo's is the closest that matches it! There's also the tomato paste based version of it which is also good. The only thing I would have preferred if it had less sodium. But overall, this is a great place to have lunch or dinner. Ummm...how do I put this experience into words.... Its the closest pollo a la brasa place to the besties house so you really want to love it so it can be your go to place. But sorry, I can't. It's just too much wrong with it. One, its dirty. No use in cleaning the tables with a cold congealed rag Mr. waiter man because that is going to do nothing. In fact, if my Mommy was here right now she would pop your hand and make you start all over cleaning all the tables for using cold water. Two. Why is your rotisserie chicken sitting on a tray under a heat lamp vs. on a hot pit spinning and turning into awesome chicken heaven? Should have walked out then...but nope. Three. The sides are all soggy and just sad. Should have know then.... We grabbed a whole chicken, fried rice and green beans as the sides. Unfortunately, the chicken skin was so tough and overcooked it just couldn't be digested. Which really sucks because the only reason anyone eats pollo a la brasa is because of the darn chicken skin. The green sauce was not flavorful at all and was just simply hot for no reason. From looking at the other reviews, maybe someone just messed up on this particular batch. The yellow sauce was bland and definitely not worth the extra calories from the mayo. The rice was very disappointing. It must have been like Uncle Ben's or something. Everyone knows authentic restaurants use basmati and jasmine rice or some higher quality. It gave it a bland and weird texture. The seasoning blend was OK for average consumption but as someone who eats this at least once a week, I want better. The green beans we just soggy and weepy looking and just Eww. The chicken was excellent. Moist, flavorful, not too salty. The bean are so good. The Yuka is fresh and crispy. The chicharon was out of this world. It was perfectly fried and all meat. Peruvian chicken restaurants are usually great for lunch or dinner but tend to be a little limited in their menu, but not here! Lots of choices for sides from the traditional rice, beans and salad to steamed veggies, green beans and potato salad. I have many of these sides along with the chicken and carne asada, and all of them have been exceptionally delicious. The whole chickens are on a rotisserie and ready when you are. The staff has always been prompt and polite and it's one of my favorite quick dinners in Sterling. read more

The food here is great. I went in for breakfast today and went again for lunch. I will probably do the same tomorrow. I typically stop in for a quarter of dark meat with the rice and beans mixed and green beans as my sides. The chicken is cooked perfectly. I add the yellow (mayo and mustard mixed I believe) and green sauces to the rice and beans. Always delicious, every time. While I've only been a few times for breakfast and its not on the menu, it is great as well. It includes scrambled eggs with tomatoes and onions with beans and creme(sp?) for the sides. I went back ands had the chicken. It was tasty but the portions were small do to the size of the chicken. A small child could have easily consumed a 1/4 by themselves. As another reviewer mentioned they pile up the sides as if you're sharing them with a large man on a long trip. Having said that the taste was similar to other Peruvian restaurants you might visit. So I am increasing my rating to 3 stars because there is no reason NOT to stop should you work on the area and are in the mood for it but if one the way home there are better restaurants in both directions I'm sure. read more

They have a pretty extensive menu (beef tongue anyone?) and lots of sides to choose from but I always go with a quarter chicken white with beans & rice and green beans. Under $6 and so good. I've had it with this place. On multiple occasions we've gone and been told that menu items are not available. It would be fine, except that it's always such strange items that they're out of. Today I was told that they are "out of burritos." after attempting to order a burrito bowl(lettuce,meat and cheese...?). I haven't tried their chicken, but this is my go-to spot for Pupusas Revueltas. They're pretty cheap (about $1.50 each) and they're delicious. Just make sure you call ahead for your order.
