Have done takeout a couple of times (ordered via Postmates for pick up, didn't look like they had their own website for ordering). Really like the Pacific roll; unique with the fried calamari crunch. The Phoenix roll is also great. Have also tried the Red Dragon roll but I was a little underwhelmed? I'd take the other two over that any day. Fish has always seemed fresh even with it being takeout. Have tried a few other items on the menu that aren't sushi for the kids - chicken karaage, gyoza - have all been consistently good. Tiny little place and can get super busy fast, so I've appreciated that they do take out. Parking is tough so often we've had to park a bit further on the street, or across the street, but it's not impossible to find something. Just a heads up, I suspect this is likely due to high demand and using a third party app, but our order is never ready when the app says it is. We've always had to wait another 10ish minutes after arriving. Not a huge deal to us and a trade off since we use Postmates in our mind (I prefer ordering online direct through restaurants whenever possible) but just an fyi to set your expectations. read more

Kiriba is me & my partner's go-to sushi spot in the area (we live in Edmonds). Their featured rolls are great, we especially enjoy the Washington roll, and Poki roll. In recent months, we've started opting for nigiri or Chirashi bowls instead. Both are delicious. Highly recommend the seared salmon nigiri. I most commonly get takeout or delivery from Kiriba these days, but have dined-in the restaurant pre-pandemic. The inside of the restaurant is a smaller sized with humble but cozy setting. This little gem is hiding in a small little yellow house of off NE 145th. Their rolls are affordable and delicious with our favorites being the Poki Roll and the Red Dragon. After hearing from a friend that gunkanmaki is incredibly tasty and hard to find, we had to try it once we spotted it on the menu. The spicy salmon and spicy scallop gunkanmakis are out of this world and are a must try. The seared salmon toro nigiri melts in your mouth and the price is a steal for that cut. Good sushi is always hard to find. I mean the places that make authentic simple and fresh dishes that only have a handful of items available. Back when we lived in Providence, we used to have this neighborhood sushi place that was reasonably priced with fresh fish and the service was quick. So we continue to hold all restaurants to those standards. Unfortunately due to the pandemic, smaller restaurants have been harder to visit just simply because of safety issues. Plus sushi isn't quite as good when you take it to go (although this place definitely does to go!). Kiriba is exactly what we had looked for. Just around the corner from our place, this little restaurants sits more than it lets on. In fact, when driving around, you may drive right past it but it's clear that it's a local favorite. Throngs of folks coming in and out. That being said, the room is spaced out for social distancing and all the wait staff here wear masks (which I appreciate). Their menu isn't long but does feature all the fresh seafood that you would be looking for. I always head over to the Nigiri section and select a few pieces to try out. They have your typical toro, salmon, mackerel, Ebi, unagi etc. You can order it both in the style of sashimi or nigiri. In addition to that, you can find their specialty maki, or rolls, on the back page. Looking for something they don't list? don't be afraid to ask and see what they can make! They have other rice dishes as well on the menu but the other day we stuck with the raw fish and it really hit the spot! In terms of sushi places, this place isn't as expensive as other places you'd find down town. Definitely a place I can see us frequenting often! Parking around the side but it's limited. First time trying here today and I am impressed! I ordered the dragon roll and after trying it I believe it's one of the best dragon rolls I've ever tried! I love how the sauce and eel had a sweet flavor to it in the rolls were big. There is parking locally on the side of the restaurant however if it was full I would have to find residential parking. I would say the parking lot could fit about six cars. The restaurant inside was quiet, cute, and and small. I definitely would come back. read more

Wow!! Great place. I was in Seattle, killing some time and wanted to have some sushi... Found this little gem. It wasn't too busy (a Thursday afternoon) and I was able to just take a seat at the bar. I had quick service and ordered a super yummy roll, and some sake. Got my food quick! I saw in the reviews that it kinda looks like a house... And that is true and that was very helpful. I've now eaten at Kiriba twice for dinner: one time at 5:30pm on a Monday and another time at 6pm on a Wednesday. Both times we were greeted by the friendly staff and seated right away. At first, I thought the prices were a little high but after my assortment of sushi and sashimi both times, I now think the prices are spot on. The fish is incredibly fresh and the nigiri and rolls are beautifully shaped. The Hubs and friends and I enjoyed salmon nigiri, unagi nigiri, tobiko gunkanmaki (so fresh!!!), hamachi roll, hamachi gunkanmaki, and more. All of it was delicious. Last but not least, I ate the BEST salmon skin roll here. It's hard to find the perfect combo of crispy skin and salmon meat. Kiriba has it down pat. I'm ordering one (or two) every time I come here now! read more

This is probably one of my favorite local sushi places! The wait is never too long and the sushi is great quality for a good price! I have an obsession with seared salmon nigiri, and theirs was amazing. The salmon just melted in my mouth, it is a must to order! I also ordered some speciality rolls "the Kiriba" and "ruby roll" which was a on their special featured chalk board (make sure to check the specials to not miss out on some unique rolls) both extremely tasty and perfectly presented. Let me tell you about my favorite roll of the night "the Phoenix roll"I was surprised this ended up being my favorite. It is topped with crab meat with tuna and salmon rolled and topped with this spicy mayo that completes the roll. Overall this is a great spot for some great sushi at a reasonable price. read more

The restaurant itself looks like it was built in residential property but converted into a neighborhood restaurant. The service was average and the pricing was appropriate - $10-14 per roll. The sushi was nothing phenomenal but it definitely fulfilled my craving. My family and I have been eating here for over 7 years. The service is friendly and efficient. The sushi is fresh and their options are varied and creative. Since covid started the amount of delivery orders has increased substantially. It's just something to consider when eating in or picking up. Kiriba! Love this place. I've come here for a special date night so many times and have gotten their takeouta handful of times during the pandemic. They definitely belong to the "new school" of sushi, where there's lots of custom sauces and even one or two deep fried rolls. (I usually loved fried anything, but sushi not so much) The fish is high quality and I really like the creativity they put into their signature items. We ordered for delivery via Caviar. We ordered the Poke and Ruby roll, they did not disappoint. They're certainly not the most adventurous rolls, but if you're just looking for a solid roll that will make everyone happy- look no further. I thought the fried sweet potato on top of the Ruby roll added a fun crunch and sweetness to the roll. Unfortunately, our excitement was clouded by two things- the yellowtail nigiri and the seaweed salad. The main issue with the yellowtail was that it was garnished with a heavy hand of green onion. It was SO overwhelming, especially for such a delicate fish. Of course we could take the green onion off...but why are you garnishing with it anyway? Bad call. Lastly, the amount of seaweed salad we received was laughable. Maybe a third of a four oz container. The worst $5 I've ever spent. My point- if you're looking for quality for price? This ain't it. Last time I dined here with the family was when it first opened and was a bit underwhelmed with the katsudon and whatever nigiri I had selected way back when. The guys have returned a few times since then, but without me. This evening, the guys really wanted sushi, but I really didn't want to do kaiten-style (conveyor belt) and surprisingly too lazy to drive back to Seattle. So we went down the street for me in particular to revisit Kiriba Sushi, which is located next door to Pagliacci Pizza. It's in a converted house with adjacent side parking, has a big neon sign with a knife on it, usually with a Mini parked out front. I mention this because it's easy to just drive past it on 145th. There is a nice variety of food items, especially sashimi, nigiri, and rolls, on their menu. However, the time from ordering to actually receiving our food was a bit on the slow side, but considering there's only one wait person,one sushi chef, and probably one person BOH covering the entire restaurant, I'll let that slide. For the kiddo's main he chose the Shrimp Tempura appetizer, since he practically drinks the dipping sauce. I got to munch on the shrimp tails. Nigiri orders (two pieces each) included Seared Salmon, Escolar, and Surf Clam. I had a Seared Salmon hand roll - delicious, although I had to eat carefully since the juices were dripping through and had to gnaw the nori wrap. Thankfully, I was dining with family and managed not to wear the contents. Rolls (eight pieces each) included Hamachi, Tekka, California, and Spicy Tuna. We were periodically checked upon, provided ice water and tea refills, and I will note the overall service and food as decent. I appreciated the hot tea (especially since miso soup is not automatically provided) on a blustery evening. A bit pricey for a weeknight meal, since with tax and tip the total was under $83, but it was money well spent for the proximity, quality, and I left with a better impression with this visit. read more

The last few times, almost all of the sushi just fell apart as the rice did not stick together. This is an absolute deal breaker for any reputable sushi restaurant. I saw an order being wrapped up but had to wait another 10 minutes before they gave it to me even though they gave other to-go orders (that were packed after (mine) before I got mine. We ordered Miso Soup, 2 orders of California Rolls, 2 orders or Seared Salmon, and a Pacific Roll which is Fried Calamari, smoked salmon, avocado layered with Hamachi, Tuna, and Spicy Mayo. Each of the items we got were great. My wife even tried the seared salmon, which she usually only eats fully cooked sushi. The rice was so fresh and the presentation was good; you could tell it was being made fresh. The prices weren't too bad either.
